在平板撞击实验中,通常利用应力计或VISAR来获得样品中应力历史或自由面粒子速度信号来研究材料的动态力学性能.本文采用含预制缺陷的K9玻璃作为研究对象,利用口径为37mm火炮加载装置,在靶样品的自由面上2 mm线长度范围内,利用16路激光多普勒探针测量系统(DPS),对样品自由面不同位置的自由粒子速度同时进行测量,此方法不同于传统的单点VISAR测量样品自由面速度,其空间分辨率为127μm,可分辨材料内部非均匀性(尺寸大于127μm的夹杂、缺陷等)对自由面速度信号的影响.本文的实验方法可为从细观尺度研究材料动态力学性能提供一种研究思路.  相似文献

Extending Andreussi and Gurtin's [1] pioneering work on the wrinkling of a free surface, we investigate the wrinkling stability of an incompressible elastic-like half-space whose surface is proximate to a contactor. Assuming a plane-strain deformation and accounting for both surface prestress and curvature dependence of the surface free-energy density, we impose balances of forces and torques both in the bulk and on the surface. From the resulting linearized bulk and superficial equations, we derive a quintic dimensionless dispersion relation and perform a parametric study to see when stable or unstable behavior of the free surface is manifested. When compared with the quadratic dispersion relation of Andreussi and Gurtin [1], we see here that the combined effects associated with surface prestress, curvature-dependence of the surface free-energy density, and the interactions between the surface and the proximate contactor always lead to an increased number of linearly stable wrinkled configurations.  相似文献

The problem of the propagation of waves on the free surface of layer of a two-phase mixture is considered. An analytic solution in the form of damped steady waves is found in the linear approximation. The dispersion relation, an expression for the decay rate, and the shape of the free surface are determined. The effect of the dispersed phase on the wave velocity is found.  相似文献

The Stroh formalism is employed to discuss the existence of transient surface waves on a viscoelastic anisotropic hall-space. The compatibility conditions, obtained using the integral formulation of Lothe and Barnett [13, 14], are examined on the basis of an asymptotic expansion of the viscoelastic kernel and a separation of space variables. Some previous results on elastic media are extended to viscoelasticity, exploiting the consequences of the second law of thermodynamics. It is found that all the allowed transient surface modes take the form of inhomogeneous plane waves whose amplitude exponentially decays along the propagation direction on the surface. Special solutions are derived explicitly for one-component surface waves where transient modes are admitted also in those cases in which stationary waves cannot occur. 模仿动物体表形态,在试样表面通过激光雕刻出有规则分布的凹坑以及条纹等非光滑单元体,研究了具有非光滑表面材料的摩擦磨损性能.结果表明:非光滑表面材料的耐磨性较光滑表面提高1倍以上,摩擦系数提高66%以上;当非光滑表面的单元体硬度越高、直径越大和间距越小时,其耐磨性能越好,摩擦系数越大.这是由于激光加工的单元体相当于在母体上增加了许多强化质点,比母体具有较高的硬度和致密性,能够提高抗磨性,增加表面粗糙度,所以其耐磨性提高,摩擦系数增大.  相似文献

A free surface shape of a viscous liquid jet is investigated at large Reynolds and Weber numbers. The jet is ejected into a vacuum from a cylindrical nozzle with a flat exterior surface. The liquid is completely wetting the nozzle material (zero contact angle). Free jet surface is non-cylindrical near the nozzle. There is a smooth connection between the flat external surface of the nozzle and the cylindrical surface of the jet away from the nozzle. The size of the connection region is estimated by means of the boundary layer technique.  相似文献

This paper studies surface instability of a coated semi-infinite linear elastic body interacting with another flat rigid body through surface van der Waals (vdW) forces under plane strain conditions. The emphasis is on the effect of the surface coating layer on the wavelength of surface wrinkling. It is shown that the surface of the coated elastic half-plane is always unstable even in the presence of a very stiff coating layer. However, the numerical results show that the stiff coating layer has a significant effect on the wavelength of the surface instability mode and can effectively prevent the surface from short-wavelength wrinkling. In particular, the surface tangential displacement associated with the surface instability vanishes when the elastic half-plane is incompressible. In this case, the in-plane rigidity of the coating layer has no effect on surface instability while the bending stiffness of the coating layer has an effect on the wave-length of the surface instability mode. Furthermore, the Poisson’s ratio of elastic half-plane has a significant role in the surface instability and the associated wave-length. C. Q. The impact behavior of individual biomass oil droplets was investigated on solid surfaces having different structures (flat, cylindrical, and spherical) using the high-speed video technique. This makes it possible to compare the evolution of the droplet impact on various surface structures. The impact behaviors of retraction–oscillation and adhesion are analyzed for different hydrophobic surfaces. The influence of the Weber number (We), the surface structure, and the surface curvature is further examined by focusing on the retraction and stable adhesion (thickness, adhesion, and contact angle) for different biomass oil droplets. The results show that the retraction factor gradually increases as We increases to some critical value, beyond which the increase rate slows down or the retraction factor begins to decrease. The largest retraction factor is observed on the flat surface and the smallest one appears on the spherical surface. The adhesion thickness of the liquid film oscillates periodically over time, and its oscillation amplitude gradually decreases with a constant frequency, which is smaller for the more hydrophobic surfaces. The curvatures of the cylinder and sphere have little influence on the stable adhesion behavior. For the different droplet types, the adhesion diameter on the flat surface gradually increases as We rises, whereas the adhesion thickness gradually decreases with increase in We. These results are helpful for understanding the impact behaviors of biomass oil droplets with high viscosity and small surface tension on solid surfaces.

We study a free boundary problem associated with the curvature dependent motion of planar curves in the upper half plane whose two endpoints slide along the horizontal axis with prescribed fixed contact angles. Our first main result concerns the classification of solutions; every solution falls into one of the three categories, namely, area expanding, area bounded and area shrinking types. We then study in detail the asymptotic behavior of solutions in each category. Among other things we show that solutions are asymptotically self-similar both in the area expanding and the area shrinking cases, while solutions converge to either a stationary solution or a traveling wave in the area bounded case. We also prove results on the concavity properties of solutions. One of the main tools of this paper is the intersection number principle, however in order to deal with solutions with free boundaries, we introduce what we call “the extended intersection number principle”, which turns out to be exceedingly useful in handling curves with moving endpoints.  相似文献

The contact problem concerning oscillation of a circular rigid punch, moving uniformly at sub-Rayleigh speed along the surface of an elastic half space, is investigated using a three-dimensional formulation. Slow motion of the punch is considered, which implies that the characteristic time for the external loading is much larger than the time interval necessary for shear waves to propagate across the punch. An asymptotic solution for the vertical oscillation of the punch is given. It is shown that the vertical displacement of the punch can approximately be described by the equation of dynamics for a system of one degree of freedom with viscous friction. The dependence of the coefficients for effective viscosity and stiffness, occurring in this equation, on the speed of the punch and Poisson ratio of the half space, is investigated. The solution for the non-stationary problem concerning a suddenly applied moving point load is also obtained, correcting and extending the result known so far. In this paper, we consider the unsteady free convection boundary layer flow which is induced by time-periodic variations in the surface temperature of a vertical surface embedded in a porous medium. The basic steady flow is that of a power-law distribution where the surface temperature varies as the nth power of the distance from the leading edge. Small-amplitude time-periodic disturbances are added to this basic distribution. Both the low- and high-frequency limits are considered separately, and these are compared with a full numerical solution obtained by using the Keller-box method. Attention is restricted to the cases n1; when n=1, the flow is locally self-similar for any prescribed frequency of modulation.  相似文献

It is shown that the governing equation for the stream function of the Darcy free convection boundary layer flows past a vertical surface is invariant under arbitrary translations of the transverse coordinate y. The consequences of this basic symmetry property on the solutions corresponding to a prescribed surface temperature distribution T w (x) are investigated. It is found that starting with a “primary solution” which describes the temperature boundary layer on an impermeable surface, infinitely many “translated solutions” can be generated which form a continuous group, the “translation group” of the given primary solution. The elements of this group describe free convection boundary layer flows from permeable counterparts of the original surface with a transformed temperature distribution \({\tilde {T}_w \left( x \right)}\), when simultaneously a suitable lateral suction/injection of the fluid is applied. It turns out in this way that several exact solutions discovered during the latter few decades are in fact not basically new solutions, but translated counterparts of some formerly reported primary solutions. We obtain computational expressions for determining the generalized free fall acceleration at any point on the Earth surface depending on the terrestrial, solar, and lunar gravities, height above sea level, season, and diurnal time. The acceleration components due to the solar gravity and the Earth revolution around the Sun take sign-alternating values in the period of 24 hours. The greatest influence of the Sun on the free fall acceleration is in perihelion with the maximal diurnal amplitude of oscillations up to 55.34mGal, while the influence of the lunar gravity is negligible and takes sign-alternating values (up to 3–4mGal).We determine the maximum and minimum values of the acceleration on the Earth surface (983229.81 and 976073.25mGal) and also note the possibility of influence of accelerations due to centrifugal forces on the human organism.  相似文献

The behaviour of the wake Strouhal number for flow past a cylinder close to a free surface at both low and moderate Froude numbers is investigated numerically. For the low Froude number case (i.e., gravity-dominated), the results obtained are similar to those for flow past a cylinder close to an adjacent no-slip boundary. As the distance between the wall and the cylinder is reduced, the Strouhal number, as measured from the time varying lift, increases to a maximum at a gap ratio of 0.70. Further gap reduction leads to a rapid decrease in the Strouhal number, with shedding finally ceasing altogether at gap ratios below 0.16. The agreement between the results for a free surface and a no-slip boundary suggests that the mechanism behind the suppression of vortex shedding is common. For flow at a fixed gap ratio and a moderate Froude number, two distinctly different wake states are observed with the flow passing over the cylinder tending to switch from a state of attachment to the free surface, to one of separation from it, and then back again in a pseudo-periodic fashion. Even though there is a significant difference in Reynolds number, the predicted numerical two-dimensional behaviour is found to compare favourably with the experimental observations at higher Reynolds number.  相似文献

本文应用声弹性理论研究了表面波在金属材料表面的传播速度和表面应力之间的关系,优化了表面波声弹性公式,建立了应力和表面波相对传播时间差的关系。通过构造实用的微型表面波探头,采用数字相关法计算了不同应力下的表面被传播时间差,确定了A3钢的表面波传播时间差与应力的关系式。同时分析了试件表面粗糙度和平整度对表面波速度变化的影响,最后给出了金属材料在不同表面条件下的实验分析结果。  相似文献
