This paper proposes a methodology to obtain reliable spatial maps of price competition using store-level scanner data. Specifically, a procedure to obtain a symmetric matrix of similarities between brands considering their substitutability depending on price variations is proposed. The matrix is derived from a market response model where price cross-effects are split into two components. The first component accounts for the fact that price variation in one brand can have different effects to price variation in other brands (ie jj′≠j′ → j). The second component accounts for the fact that the price of each brand can have different effects across competing brands (ie jj′≠jj). The matrix is obtained by imposing symmetry on this second component of price cross-effects. The parameterization of this symmetric matrix of similarities as the distances between the spatial representations of brands allows us to obtain the positioning maps. The proposed approach is illustrated through an empirical application.  相似文献

Let ? be a trace on the unital C*-algebra A and M ? be the ideal of the definition of the trace ?. We obtain a C*analogue of the quantum Hall effect: if P,QA are idempotents and P ? QM ? , then ?((P ? Q)2n+1) = ?(P ? Q) ∈ R for all nN. Let the isometries UA and A = A*∈ A be such that I+A is invertible and U-AM ? with ?(U-A) ∈ R. Then I-A, I?UM ? and ?(I?U) ∈ R. Let nN, dimH = 2n + 1, the symmetry operators U, VB(H), and W = U ? V. Then the operator W is not a symmetry, and if V = V*, then the operator W is nonunitary.  相似文献

Suppose that P and Q are idempotents on a Hilbert space H, while Q = Q* and I is the identity operator in H. If U = P ? Q is an isometry then U = U* is unitary and Q = I ? P. We establish a double inequality for the infimum and the supremum of P and Q in H and P ? Q. Applications of this inequality are obtained to the characterization of a trace and ideal F-pseudonorms on a W*-algebra. Let φ be a trace on the unital C*-algebra A and let tripotents P and Q belong to A. If P ? Q belongs to the domain of definition of φ then φ(P ? Q) is a real number. The commutativity of some operators is established.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the Leibniz triple system T and its universal Leibniz envelope U(T). The involutive automorphism of U(T) determining T is introduced, which gives a characterization of the \(\mathbb {Z}_{2}\)-grading of U(T). We show that the category of Leibniz triple systems is equivalent to a full subcategory of the category of \(\mathbb {Z}_{2}\)-graded Leibniz algebras. We give the relationship between the solvable radical R(T) of T and R a d(U(T)), the solvable radical of U(T). Further, Levi’s theorem for Leibniz triple systems is obtained. Moreover, the relationship between the nilpotent radical of T and that of U(T) is studied. Finally, we introduce the notion of representations of a Leibniz triple system, which can be described by using involutive representations of its universal Leibniz envelope.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative ring with 1 ≠ 0 and U(R) be the set of all unit elements of R. Let m, n be positive integers such that m > n. In this article, we study a generalization of n-absorbing ideals. A proper ideal I of R is called an (m, n)-absorbing ideal if whenever a 1?a m I for a 1,…, a m R?U(R), then there are n of the a i ’s whose product is in I. We investigate the stability of (m, n)-absorbing ideals with respect to various ring theoretic constructions and study (m, n)-absorbing ideals in several commutative rings. For example, in a Bézout ring or a Boolean ring, an ideal is an (m, n)-absorbing ideal if and only if it is an n-absorbing ideal, and in an almost Dedekind domain every (m, n)-absorbing ideal is a product of at most m ? 1 maximal ideals.  相似文献

Let g be the finite dimensional simple Lie algebra of type An, and let U? = U q (g,Λ) and U = U q (g,Q) be the quantum groups defined over the weight lattice and over the root lattice, respectively. In this paper, we find two algebraically independent central elements in U? for all n ≥ 2 and give an explicit formula of the Casimir elements for the quantum group U? = U q (g,Λ), which corresponds to the Casimir element of the enveloping algebra U(g). Moreover, for n = 2 we give explicitly generators of the center subalgebras of the quantum groups U? = U q (g,Λ) and U = U q (g,Q).  相似文献

The definition of monotone weak Lindelöfness is similar to monotone versions of other covering properties: X is monotonically weakly Lindelöf if there is an operator r that assigns to every open cover U a family of open sets r(U) so that (1) ∪r(U) is dense in X, (2) r(U) refines U, and (3) r(U) refines r(V) whenever U refines V. Some examples and counterexamples of monotonically weakly Lindelöf spaces are given and some basic properties such as the behavior with respect to products and subspaces are discussed.  相似文献

For a unitary operator U in a Hilbert space H the family of its unitary perturbations by rank one operators with fixed range is parametrized by a complex parameter γ, ?γ? = 1. Namely, all such unitary perturbations are operators Uγ:= U + (γ ? 1)( ·, b1)Hb, where bH, ∥b∥ = 1, b1 = U?1b, ?γ? = 1. For ?γ? < 1, the operators Uγ are contractions with one-dimensional defects.  相似文献

Let g′ ? g be a pair of Lie algebras of either symplectic or orthogonal infinitesimal endomorphisms of the complex vector spaces C N?2 ? C N and U q (g′) ? U q (g) be a pair of quantum groups with a triangular decomposition U q (g) = U q (g-)U q (g+)U q (h). Let Z q (g, g′) be the corresponding step algebra. We assume that its generators are rational trigonometric functions h ? → U q (g±). We describe their regularization such that the resulting generators do not vanish for any choice of the weight.  相似文献

Let G be a simple algebraic group defined over an algebraically closed field of characteristic 0 or a good prime for G. Let U be a maximal unipotent subgroup of G and \( \mathfrak{u} \) its Lie algebra. We prove the separability of orbit maps and the connectedness of centralizers for the coadjoint action of U on (certain quotients of) the dual \( \mathfrak{u} \)* of \( \mathfrak{u} \). This leads to a method to give a parametrization of the coadjoint orbits in terms of so-called minimal representatives which form a disjoint union of quasi-affine varieties. Moreover, we obtain an algorithm to explicitly calculate this parametrization which has been used for G of rank at most 8, except E8.When G is defined and split over the field of q elements, for q the power of a good prime for G, this algorithmic parametrization is used to calculate the number k(U(q); \( \mathfrak{u} \)*(q)) of coadjoint orbits of U(q) on \( \mathfrak{u} \)*(q). Since k(U(q), \( \mathfrak{u} \)*(q)) coincides with the number k(U(q)) of conjugacy classes in U(q), these calculations can be viewed as an extension of the results obtained in [11]. In each case considered here there is a polynomial h(t) with integer coefficients such that for every such q we have k(U(q)) = h(q). We also explain implications of our results for a parametrization of the irreducible complex characters of U(q).  相似文献

Let G be a group of order mu and U a normal subgroup of G of order u. Let G/U = {U 1,U 2, . . . ,U m } be the set of cosets of U in G. We say a matrix H = [h ij ] of order k with entries from G is a quasi-generalized Hadamard matrix with respect to the cosets G/U if \({\sum_{1\le t \le k} h_{it}h_{jt}^{-1} = \lambda_{ij1}U_1+\cdots+\lambda_{ijm}U_m (\exists\lambda_{ij1},\ldots, \exists \lambda_{ijm} \in \mathbb{Z})}\) for any ij. On the other hand, in our previous article we defined a modified generalized Hadamard matrix GH(s, u, λ) over a group G, from which a TD λ (, u) admitting G as a semiregular automorphism group is obtained. In this article, we present a method for combining quasi-generalized Hadamard matrices and semiregular relative difference sets to produce modified generalized Hadamard matrices.  相似文献

Let (R,m) be a commutative Noetherian regular local ring of dimension d and I be a proper ideal of R such that mAss R (R/I) = Assh R (I). It is shown that the R- module Hht(I) I (R) is I-cofinite if and only if cd(I,R) = ht(I). Also we present a sufficient condition under which this condition the R-module H i I (R) is finitely generated if and only if it vanishes.  相似文献

Let U be a bounded open subset of ?d, d ≥ 2 and fC(?U). The Dirichlet solution fCU of the Dirichlet problem associated with the Laplace equation with a boundary condition f is not continuous on the closure ū of U in general if U is not regular but it is always Baire-one.Let H(U) be the space of all functions continuous on the closure ū and harmonic on U and F(H(U)) be the space of uniformly bounded absolutely convergent series of functions in H(U). We prove that fCU can be obtained as a uniform limit of a sequence of functions in F(H(U)). Thus fCU belongs to the subclass B1/2 of Baire-one functions studied for example in [8]. This is not only an improvement of the result obtained in [10] but it also shows that the Dirichlet solution on the closure ū can share better properties than to be only a Baire-one function. Moreover, our proof is more elementary than that in [10].A generalization to the abstract context of simplicial function space on a metrizable compact space is provided.We conclude the paper with a brief discussion on the solvability of the abstract Dirichlet problem with a boundary condition belonging to the space of differences of bounded semicontinuous functions complementing the results obtained in [17].  相似文献

For a normed algebra A and natural numbers k we introduce and investigate the ∥ · ∥ closed classes P k (A). We show that P1(A) is a subset of P k (A) for all k. If T in P1(A), then Tn lies in P1(A) for all natural n. If A is unital, U, V ∈ A are such that ∥U∥ = ∥V∥ = 1, VU = I and T lies in P k (A), then UTV lies in P k (A) for all natural k. Let A be unital, then 1) if an element T in P1(A) is right invertible, then any right inverse element T?1 lies in P1(A); 2) for ßßIßß = 1 the class P1(A) consists of normaloid elements; 3) if the spectrum of an element T, T ∈ P1(A) lies on the unit circle, then ∥TX∥ = ∥X∥ for all XA. If A = B(H), then the class P1(A) coincides with the set of all paranormal operators on a Hilbert space H.  相似文献

Let x 0 be a nonzero vector in \({\mathbb{C}^{n}}\) , and let \({U\subseteq \mathcal{M}_{n}}\) be a domain containing the zero matrix. We prove that if φ is a holomorphic map from U into \({\mathcal{M}_{n}}\) such that the local spectrum of TU at x 0 and the local spectrum of φ(T) at x 0 have always a common value, then T and φ(T) have always the same spectrum, and they have the same local spectrum at x 0 a.e. with respect to the Lebesgue measure on U. If \({\varphi \colon U\rightarrow \mathcal{M}_{n}}\) is holomorphic with φ(0) = 0 such that the local spectral radius of T at x 0 equals the local spectral radius of φ(T) at x 0 for all TU, there exists \({\xi \in \mathbb{C}}\) of modulus one such that ξT and φ(T) have the same spectrum for all T in U. We also prove that if for all TU the local spectral radius of φ(T) coincides with the local spectral radius of T at each vector x, there exists \({\xi \in \mathbb{C}}\) of modulus one such that φ(T) = ξT on U.  相似文献

Let U be the quantum group and f be the Lusztig’s algebra associated with a symmetrizable generalized Cartan matrix. The algebra f can be viewed as the positive part of U. Lusztig introduced some symmetries T i on U for all iI. Since T i (f) is not contained in f, Lusztig considered two subalgebras i f and i f of f for any iI, where i f={xf | T i (x) ∈ f} and \({^{i}\mathbf {f}}=\{x\in \mathbf {f}\,\,|\,\,T^{-1}_{i}(x)\in \mathbf {f}\}\). The restriction of T i on i f is also denoted by \(T_{i}:{_{i}\mathbf {f}}\rightarrow {^{i}\mathbf {f}}\). The geometric realization of f and its canonical basis are introduced by Lusztig via some semisimple complexes on the variety consisting of representations of the corresponding quiver. When the generalized Cartan matrix is symmetric, Xiao and Zhao gave geometric realizations of Lusztig’s symmetries in the sense of Lusztig. In this paper, we shall generalize this result and give geometric realizations of i f, i f and \(T_{i}:{_{i}\mathbf {f}}\rightarrow {^{i}\mathbf {f}}\) by using the language ’quiver with automorphism’ introduced by Lusztig.  相似文献

Let S i , iI, be a countable collection of Jordan curves in the extended complex plane \(\widehat{\mathbb{C}}\) that bound pairwise disjoint closed Jordan regions. If the Jordan curves are uniform quasicircles and are uniformly relatively separated, then there exists a quasiconformal map \(f\colon\widehat{\mathbb{C}}\rightarrow\widehat{\mathbb{C}}\) such that f(S i ) is a round circle for all iI. This implies that every Sierpiński carpet in \(\widehat{\mathbb{C}}\) whose peripheral circles are uniformly relatively separated uniform quasicircles can be mapped to a round Sierpiński carpet by a quasisymmetric map.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring, and let N be a non-zero finitely generated R-module. The purpose of this paper is to show that N is locally unmixed if and only if, for any N-proper ideal I of R generated by ht N I elements, the topology defined by (I N)(n), n ≥ 0, is linearly equivalent to the I-adic topology.  相似文献
