Synthesis and total 1H-NMR assignment of naphtho[1′,2′:4,5]thieno[2,3-c][1,10]phenanthroline and naphtho[2′,1′:4,5]-thieno[2,3-c] [1,10]phenanthroline

Naphtho[1′,2′:4,5]thieno[2,3-c][1,10]phenanthroline and naphtho[2′,1′:4,5]thieno[2,3-c][1,10]phenanthroline, two novel polycyclic heterocyclic ring systems, have been synthesized in four steps from known starting materials. The total ¹H nmr spectral assignments were made using a COSY experiment to identify the spin systems.     

Zinc(II)-templated synthesis of a [2]-catenane consisting of a 2,2',6',2' '-terpyridine-incorporating cycle and a 1,10-phenanthroline-containing ring

A nonsymmetrical [2]-catenane has been synthesized, with a 5-coordinated metal center (Zn(2+)) as template. One of the two rings contains a terdentate ligand (2,2',6',2' '-terpyridine) and the other one incorporates a bidentate chelate (1,10-phenanthroline). The first ring was prepared separately and, subsequently, Zn(2+) was used as the gathering and threading element to pass the stringlike component through the ring. This open-chain species bears two terminal olefins, which were reacted with Grubbs first-generation catalyst (ring-closing metathesis) to afford the desired catenane. Hydrogenation of the double bond and removal of the zinc(II) template afforded the final free [2]-catenane in 40% yield from the terdentate ligand-containing cycle and the diolefinic compound. Complexation studies on this new pentacoordinating catenane were carried out with Fe(II) or Cu(II). The most interesting observation is that the 5-coordinated complexes obtained are strongly stabilized. Their electrochemical reduction occurs at negative potentials.     

Diastereoselective Synthesis of 1,10-Dihydropyrrolo [ 1,2-a] [1,10]phenanthroline Derivatives via 1,3-Dipolar Cycloaddition Reaction

The functionalized 1,10-dihydropyrrolo[1,2-a][1,10]phenanthroline derivatives were synthesized in good yields and with high diastereoselectivity by 1,3-dipolar cycloaddition reactions of N-phenacylphenanthrolinium bromides or N-ethoxycarbonylmethylene phenanthrolinium bromide with various nitrostyrenes in acetonitrile at room temperature in the presence of triethvlamine,     

Arene imine derivatives of nitrogen heterocycles: 1a,9b-dihydrobenz[h]-azirino[f]quinoline, 1a,9b-dihydrobenz[f]azirino[h]quinoline and 1a,9b-dihydroazirino[f][1,10]phenanthroline

The syntheses of the K-imine derivatives of benzo[h]quinoline ( 1 ), benzo[f]quinoline ( 2 ) and 1,10-phenanthroline ( 3 ) are described. The parent nitrogen heterocycles were oxidized with sodium hypochlorite to the corresponding K-oxides, 4, 6 and 8 , which in turn were reacted with sodium azide. The resulting azido alcohols were then cyclized with triethyl phosphite to the title compounds 5, 7 and 9 . The oxirane ring cleavage in benzo[h]quinoline 5,6-oxide ( 4 ) and in benzo[f]quinoline 5,6-oxide ( 6 ) by sodium azide proceeded by the predicted regioselectivity: 4 gave trans-5-azido-5,6-dihydro-6-benzo[h]quinolinol ( 11 ) and trans-6-azido-5,6-dihydro-5-benzo[h]quinolinol ( 10 ) as the major and minor products respectively, and 6 yielded solely trans-6-azido-5,6-dihydro-5-benzo[f]quinolinol ( 12 ). The latter compound proved by X-ray analysis to crystallize as a hydrogen bonded dimer.     

Synthesis and total 1H-NMR assignment of [1]benzothieno-[2,3-c] [1,10]phenanthroline

The synthesis of [1]benzothieno[2,3-c][1,10]phenanthroline ( 5 ) is described. It was obtained in four steps from known starting materials. The basic skeleton of the molecule and of the phenanthroline ring were formed via photocyclization. The total assignment of ¹H-nmr spectra was accomplished with the aid of two-dimensional nmr methods.     

Synthesis of two novel ring systems via photocyclization: Thieno[2′,3′:4,5]thieno[2,3-c][1,10]phenanthroline and thieno[3′,2′:4,5]thieno[2,3-c][1,10]phenanthroline

The synthesis of thieno[2′,3′:4,5]thieno[2,3-c][1,10]phenanthroline ( 5 ) and thieno[3′,2′:4,5]thieno-[2,3-c][1,10]phenanthroline ( 10 ) are described. 新型2-(2-羧基苯基)咪唑[4,5-f][1,10]邻菲咯啉的合成及其荧光性能

以1,10-邻菲咯啉和邻羧基苯甲醛为原料,经氧化和缩合反应合成了一种新型的桥连配体——2-(2-羧基苯基)咪唑[4,S-f][1,10]邻菲咯啉(1),其结构经1H NMR,IR,MS和元素分析表征.用FL研究了1的荧光性能,结果表明,1具有较强的荧光,发光纯度较好.     

2-(3-吡唑基)咪唑并[4,5-f]邻菲咯啉的合成

以邻菲咯啉-5,6二-酮和3醛-基吡唑为原料,合成了一种新的配体——2-(3吡-唑基)咪唑并[4,5-f]邻菲咯啉(1),其结构经1H NMR,IR及MS表征。研究了1的电子吸收和荧光性质。     

Multi-state molecular switches based on dithienylperfluorocyclopentene and imidazo [4,5-f] [1,10] phenanthroline

Two novel diarylethene derivatives containing imidazo [4,5-f] [1,10] phenanthroline have been efficiently synthesized. These molecules are sensitive to both light and chemical stimuli. Under sequential alternating UV-vis light irradiation and alkali/acid treatment, distinct differences in NMR, UV-vis, and fluorescent spectra were observed. Taking advantage of the variations in visible absorption and fluorescence, a reversible four-state molecular switch with two optical outputs was realized by a single molecule.     

Potassium ferro-cyanide trihydrate complex catalyzed one-pot synthesis of 2-phenylimidazo[4,5-f][1,10] phenanthroline

Various 2-phenylimidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthrolines were synthesized from potassium ferro-cyanide trihydrate(KFCT) complex catalyzed three component reaction of 1,10-phenanthroiine-5,6-dione,aromatic aldehydes and ammonium acetate at room temperature in excellent isolated yield.This is a simple and straight forward,high yielding,not involving any hazardous or expensive catalyst method.     

Synthetic studies of benzo[b]pyrrolo[4,3,2-de][1,10]phenanthroline

6,11-Dihydrobenzo[b]pyrrolo[4,3,2-de][1,10]phenanthroline-5,8-dione (6), which possesses a unique heterocyclic ring system similar to that in plakinidines A-D (1-4), was synthesized from 2-acetyl-3′-nitrodiphenylamine (16) in nine steps.     

Ruthenium(II) complexes of 2-phenylimidazo[4,5-f] [1,10]phenanthroline. Synthesis,characterization and third order nonlinear optical properties

Three Ru^II complexes [Ru(bpy)₂(PIP)]²⁺, [Ru(PIP)₂(bpy)]²⁺ and [Ru(PIP)₃]²⁺ (PIP = 2-phenylimidazo[4,5-f][1,10]phenanthroline, bpy = 2,2-bipyridine) were prepared and characterized by electrospray mass spectrometry, ¹H-n.m.r, u.v.–vis. and electrochemistry. The nonlinear optical properties (NLO) of the Ru^II complexes were investigated by Z-scan techniques with 12 ns laser pulses at 540 nm, and all of them exhibit both NLO absorption and self-defocusing effects. The corresponding effective NLO susceptibility |³| of the complexes is in the (4.15 – 4.86) × 10^–12 e.s.u. range.     

Synthesis of thiopyrano[4″,3″:4′,5′]pyrido[3′,2′:4,5]furo[3,2-d]pyrimidines

<正>Reactions of the 6-hydroxy-thiopyrano[3,4-c]pyridine-5-carbonitrile derivative 1 withα-halo-carbonyl compounds gave the ortho-substituted intermediates 2a-c which were converted into furo[2,3-b]thiopyrano[4,3-d]pyridines 3a-c by fusion of a furan moiety under basic conditions.Further cyclization of 3a-c led to a fusion of a pyrimidine ring,yielding the tetracyclic products 6,7 and 8.In addition,condensation of 6 with various aromatic aldehydes afforded the corresponding imines 9a,b.Mannich reaction of 7 gave products 10a,b.
