In this paper, we present the local discontinuous Galerkin method for solving Burgers’ equation and the modified Burgers’ equation. We describe the algorithm formulation and practical implementation of the local discontinuous Galerkin method in detail. The method is applied to the solution of the one-dimensional viscous Burgers’ equation and two forms of the modified Burgers’ equation. The numerical results indicate that the method is very accurate and efficient.  相似文献

We present a class of efficient parametric closure models for 1D stochastic Burgers equations. Casting it as statistical learning of the flow map, we derive the parametric form by representing the unresolved high wavenumber Fourier modes as functionals of the resolved variable’s trajectory. The reduced models are nonlinear autoregression (NAR) time series models, with coefficients estimated from data by least squares. The NAR models can accurately reproduce the energy spectrum, the invariant densities, and the autocorrelations. Taking advantage of the simplicity of the NAR models, we investigate maximal space-time reduction. Reduction in space dimension is unlimited, and NAR models with two Fourier modes can perform well. The NAR model’s stability limits time reduction, with a maximal time step smaller than that of the K-mode Galerkin system. We report a potential criterion for optimal space-time reduction: the NAR models achieve minimal relative error in the energy spectrum at the time step, where the K-mode Galerkin system’s mean Courant–Friedrichs–Lewy (CFL) number agrees with that of the full model.  相似文献

A class of generalized complex Burgers equation is considered. First, a set of equations of the complex value functions are solved by using the homotopic mapping method. The approximate solution for the original generalized complex Burgers equation is obtained. This method can find the approximation of arbitrary order of precision simply and reliably.  相似文献

By use of a direct method, we discuss symmetries and reductions of the two-dimensional Burgers equation with variable coefficient (VCBurgers). In this paper, a novel method, named the consistent Burgers equation expansion (CBEE) method, is proposed to solve nonlinear evolution equations (NLEEs) by the celebrated Burgers equation. NLEEs are said to be CBEE solvable if they are satisfied by the CBEE method. In order to verify the effectiveness of the CBEE method, we take (2+1)-dimensional Burgers equation as an example. From the (1+1)-dimensional Burgers equation, many new explicit solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional Burgers equation are derived. The obtained results illustrate that this method can be effectively extended to other NLEEs.  相似文献

A quantum algorithm is presented for modeling the time evolution of a continuous field governed by the nonlinear Burgers equation in one spatial dimension. It is a microscopic-scale algorithm for a type-II quantum computer, a large lattice of small quantum computers interconnected in nearest neighbor fashion by classical communication channels. A formula for quantum state preparation is presented. The unitary evolution is governed by a conservative quantum gate applied to each node of the lattice independently. Following each quantum gate operation, ensemble measurements over independent microscopic realizations are made resulting in a finite-difference Boltzmann equation at the mesoscopic scale. The measured values are then used to re-prepare the quantum state and one time step is completed. The procedure of state preparation, quantum gate application, and ensemble measurement is continued ad infinitum. The Burgers equation is derived as an effective field theory governing the behavior of the quantum computer at its macroscopic scale where both the lattice cell size and the time step interval become infinitesimal. A numerical simulation of shock formation is carried out and agrees with the exact analytical solution.  相似文献

So far, Lou's direct perturbation method has been applied successfully to solve the nonlinear Schr?dinger equation(NLSE) hierarchy, such as the NLSE, the coupled NLSE, the critical NLSE, and the derivative NLSE. But to our knowledge, this method for other types of perturbed nonlinear evolution equations has still been lacking. In this paper, Lou's direct perturbation method is applied to the study of perturbed complex Burgers equation. By this method, we calculate not only the zero-order adiabatic solution, but also the first order modification.  相似文献

A new lattice Bhatnagar--Gross--Krook (LBGK) model for a class of the generalized Burgers equations is proposed. It is a general LBGK model for nonlinear Burgers equations with source term in arbitrary dimensional space. The linear stability of the model is also studied. The model is numerically tested for three problems in different dimensional space, and the numerical results are compared with either analytic solutions or numerical results obtained by other methods. Satisfactory results are obtained by the numerical simulations.  相似文献
