Using both a difference frequency spectrometer and a Fourier transform spectrometer, we have measured transitions in the 12 (2)0<--01 (1)0 band of carbon dioxide at room temperature and pressures up to 19 atm. The low-pressure spectra were analyzed using a variety of standard spectral profiles, all with an asymmetric component to account for weak line mixing. For this band, we have been able to retrieve experimental line strengths and the broadening and weak mixing parameters. In this paper we also compare the suitability of the energy-corrected sudden model to predict mixing in the two previously measured Q branches 20 (0)0<--01 (1)0, the 11 (1)0<--00 (0)0, and the present Q branch of pure CO(2), all at room temperature.  相似文献

Absorption cross sections for the A 2A' (0,9(0),0) <-- X 2A' (0,0(1),0) band of HCO were determined at 295 K using pulsed laser photolysis combined with cavity ring-down spectroscopy. Formyl radicals (HCO) were produced from the reaction of atomic chlorine, generated by photolysis of Cl2 at 335 nm, with formaldehyde. The concentration of HCO was calibrated using two independent photochemical methods. The peak cross section of the P8 line was determined to be (1.98 +/- 0.36) x 10(-18) cm2, and the intensity of the entire band was normalized to this line. The quoted 2 sigma uncertainty includes estimated systematic errors. Comparisons to previously reported values of HCO cross sections in this band are discussed.  相似文献

As part of our long-term program to test the diffuse interstellar band-polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon hypothesis, we have investigated the S(1)<--S(0) electronic transition of neutral perylene (C(20)H(12)) in a combined experimental and theoretical study. Jet-cooled perylene was prepared with a pulsed discharge slit nozzle and detected by cavity ring-down spectroscopy. A number of vibronic features were observed in the 24 000-24 900 cm(-1) spectral range. Density functional and ab initio calculations were performed to determine the geometries, harmonic vibrational frequencies, and normal coordinates of both the S(0) and S(1) electronic states. A rotational temperature of 52+/-5 K was derived from a rotational contour analysis of the vibronic band associated with the 0-0 transition. A Franck-Condon treatment was carried out to calculate the vibronic spectrum of the S(1)<--S(0) transition. A good agreement was found between the calculated and the experimental spectra. A vibrational assignment is proposed and six normal modes are identified. The contribution of neutral compact polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbons to the diffuse interstellar bands is briefly discussed.  相似文献

We have applied cavity ring-down spectroscopy to a kinetic study of the reaction of NO3 with CH3I in 20-200 Torr of N2 diluent at 298 K. The rate constant of the reaction of NO3 + CH3I was determined to be (4.1 +/- 0.2) x 10(-13) cm3 molecule(-1) s(-1) in 100 Torr of N2 diluent at 298 K and is pressure-independent. This reaction may significantly contribute to the formation of reactive iodine compounds in the atmosphere.  相似文献

Several rotational lines in the S and Q branches [including the previously unobserved Q(2) and Q(3) lines] of the 3-0 electric quadrupole band of H2 have been detected by cavity ring-down spectroscopy. Line strengths were measured at densities between 2.7x10(18) and 7.5x10(19) molecules cm-3 at room temperature. The observed line strengths in the S branch are consistent with earlier measurements, and systematically below theoretical calculations [relative differences of approximately 10% for the S(1),S(2), and S(3) lines, and nearly 30% for the S(0) line]. Line strength measurements for the Q branch range from 25% to 33% below theoretical calculations.  相似文献

Absolute absorption cross sections of the absorption spectrum of the 2nu1 band of the HO2 radical in the near-IR region were measured by continuous wave cavity ring-down spectroscopy (cw-CRDS) coupled to laser photolysis in the wavelength range 6604-6696 cm(-1) with a resolution better than 0.003 cm(-1). Absolute absorption cross sections were obtained by measuring the decay of the HO2 self-reaction, and they are given for the 100 most intense lines. The most important absorption feature in this wavelength range was found at 6638.20 cm(-1), exhibiting an absorption cross section of sigma = 2.72 x 10(-19) cm2 at 50 Torr He. Using this absorption line, we obtain a detection limit for the HO2 radical at 50 Torr of 6.5 x 10(10) cm(-3).  相似文献

Doppler-free two-photon excitation spectrum and the Zeeman effect of the S1 1B1u(v21=1) <-- S0 1Ag(v=0) transition of naphthalene-d8 have been measured. 908 lines of Q(Ka)Q(J)KaKc transition of J=0-41, Ka=0-20 were assigned, and the molecular constants of the S1 1B1u(v21=1) state were determined. Perturbations were observed, and those were identified as originating from Coriolis interaction. No perturbation originating from an interaction with triplet state was observed. The Zeeman splittings from lines of a given J were observed to increase with Kc, and those of the Kc=J levels increased linearly with J. The Zeeman effects are shown to be originating from the magnetic moment of the S1 1B1u state, which is along the c axis and is induced by mixing of the S2 1B3u state to the S1 1B1u state by J-L coupling. Rotationally resolved levels were found not to be mixed with a triplet state from the Zeeman spectra. Accordingly, it is concluded that nonradiative decay of an isolated naphthalene excited to low rovibronic levels in the S1 1B1u state does not occur through the intersystem mixing. This is at variance with generally accepted understanding of the pathways of the nonradiative decay.  相似文献

The electronic A1A2 <-- X1A1 absorption spectra of formaldehyde vapour were studied at temperatures varying from 423 to 770 K with variable pressures from less than 0.1 to 1 MPa. Broadband vibronic and partially rotationally resolved 4(0)(1) rovibronic spectra of formaldehyde showed considerable sensitivity to temperature. The high resolution spectra showed collision-induced broadening as the pressure was increased. The results show that the absorption efficiency of the laser radiation from the third harmonic of Nd:YAG lasers is sensitive to the spectral properties of the laser, such as line position and shape. Promising results were obtained from the comparison between theoretical and measured absorption spectra.  相似文献

The absorption spectrum of ozone was recorded at low temperatures (down to -135 degrees C) by high resolution Fourier transform spectrometry and intra cavity laser absorption spectroscopy (ICLAS) near 10,400 cm-1. A preliminary analysis of the rotational structure of the absorption spectra of 16O3 and 18O3 shows that this spectral region corresponds to a superposition of two different electronic transitions, one with a very broad rotational structure, showing for the first time the asymmetric stretching frequency mode nu3 of the electronic state 3A2, the other formed by a completely diffuse band, probably the 2(1)(0) band of a new transition due to the triplet electronic state 3B2. Predissociation effects induce large broadening of the rotational lines for the transition centered at 10,473 cm-1 identified as the 3(2)(0) band of the 3A2 <-- X1A1 electronic transition. The rotational structure cannot be analyzed directly but instead the band contour method was used to confirm the symmetry of the transition and to estimate the spectroscopic constants for the 16O isotopomer. The origin of the band is at 10,473 +/- 3 cm-1 and the value of the 16O3(3A2) antisymmetric stretching frequency mode is equal to 460 +/- 2 cm-1. We believe that the diffuse band is due to the 3B2 state and is located at about 10,363 +/- 3 cm-1 for 16O3 and 10,354 +/- 3 cm-1 for 18O3. The isotopic rules confirm the different results obtained for 18O3 and 16O3.  相似文献

The rotationally resolved origin band in the 2(2)E'<--X2A1' electronic spectrum of cyclic B3 has been observed by cavity ring down spectroscopy in the gas phase. The B3 molecule was generated in a supersonic planar plasma containing decaborane (B10H14) and neon as a carrier gas. The rotational structure pattern is that of a cyclic molecule. It is analyzed assuming an equilateral triangle in both electronic states. The band origin is determined to be 21 853.52 cm(-1), and the bond lengths 1.603 77(106) A in the ground and 1.619 07(96) A in the excited electronic state are inferred from analysis of the rotational structure.  相似文献

We have applied cavity ring-down spectroscopy to a kinetic study of the reaction of NO3 with CH2I2 in 25–100 Torr of N2 diluent at 298 K. The rate constant of reaction of NO3 + CH2I2 is determined to be (4.0 ± 1.2) × 10−13 cm3 molecule−1 s−1 in 100 Torr of N2 diluent at 298 K. The rate constant increases with increasing pressure of buffer gas below 100 Torr. The reaction of CH2I2 with NO3 has the potential importance at nighttime in the atmosphere.  相似文献

We have investigated the Rb2 475 nm system by resonance enhanced two-photon ionization spectroscopy in a pulsed molecular beam. Strong extra bands accompanying the 2 (1)Pi(u) v' = 5 - 8 <-- X (1)Sigma(g)(+) v' = 0 bands were newly observed. Rotational analysis of the main and extra bands reveals that the 2 (1)Pi(u) v' = 5 - 8 levels are significantly perturbed, mainly by the 3 (3)Sigma(u)(+)(1 u) state and also by the 2 (3)Pi(u)(1 u) state. For the major perturber, 3 (3)Sigma(u)(+)(1 u), the intensity borrowing has been found to be facilitated by the 2 (1)Pi(u)-3 (3)Sigma(u)(+)(1 u) potential energy curve crossing near 21,100 cm(-1). For the vibronic-band intensities of the 2 (3)Pi(u)(1 u) v' <-- X (1)Sigma(g)(+) v' = 0 transitions observed in this spectral region, intensity borrowing was most effective when the 2 (3)Pi(u)(1 u) levels were close to the 3 (3)Sigma(u)(+)(1 u) levels. A deperturbation fit for the perturbing bands has provided the 2 (1)Pi(u)-3 (3)Sigma(u)(+)(1 u) coupling constants.  相似文献

Doppler-free two-photon excitation spectra and the Zeeman effects for the 1 band of the S1 1B2u <-- S0 1A1g transition in gaseous benzene-d6 were measured. Although the spectral lines were strongly perturbed, almost all of the lines near the band origin could be assigned. From a deperturbation analysis, the perturbation near the band origin was identified as originating from an anharmonic resonance interaction. Perturbation centered at K = 28-29 in the 14(0)1 band was analyzed, and it was identified as originating from a perpendicular Coriolis interaction. The symmetry and the assignment of the perturbing state proposed by Schubert et al. (Schubert, U.; Riedle, E.; Neusser, H. J. J. Chem. Phys. 1989, 90, 5994.) were confirmed. No perturbation originating from an interaction with a triplet state was observed in both bands. From the Zeeman spectra and the analysis, it is demonstrated that rotationally resolved levels are not mixed with a triplet state. The intersystem mixing is not likely to occur at levels of low excess energy in the S1 state of an isolated benzene. Nonradiative decay of an isolated benzene in the low vibronic levels of the S1 state will occur through the internal mixing followed by the rotational and vibrational relaxation in the S0 state.  相似文献

The reactions of iodine monoxide radical, IO, with alkyl peroxide radicals, RO(2) (R = CH(3), C(2)H(5), and CF(3)), have been studied using cavity ring-down spectroscopy. The rate constant of the reaction of IO with CH(3)O(2) was determined to be (7.0 +/- 3.0) x 10(-11) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) at 298 K and 100 Torr of N(2) diluent. The quoted uncertainty is two standard deviations. No significant pressure dependence of the rate constant was observed at 30-130 Torr total pressure of N(2) diluent. The temperature dependence of the rate constants was also studied at 213-298 K. The upper limit of the branching ratio of OIO radical formation from IO + CH(3)O(2) was estimated to be <0.1. The reaction rate constants of IO + C(2)H(5)O(2) and IO + CF(3)O(2) were determined to be (14 +/- 6) x 10(-11) and (6.3 +/- 2.7) x 10(-11) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1) at 298 K, 100 Torr of N(2) diluent, respectively. The upper limit of the reaction rate constant of IO with CH(3)I was <4 x 10(-14) cm(3) molecule(-1) s(-1).  相似文献

The photodissociation of CF(3)I at 304 nm has been studied using long time-delayed core-sampling photofragment translational spectroscopy. Due to its capability of detecting the kinetic energy distribution of iodine fragments with high resolution, it is able to directly assign the vibrational state distribution of CF(3) fragments. The vibrational state distributions of CF(3) fragments in the I(*)((2)P(12)) channel, i.e., (3)Q(0+) state, have a propensity of the nu(2) (') umbrella mode with a maximum distribution at the vibrational ground state. For the I((2)P(32)) channel, i.e., (1)Q(1)<--(3)Q(0+), the excitation of the nu(2) (') umbrella mode accounts for the majority of the vibrational excitation of the CF(3) fragments. The 1 nu(1) (') (symmetric CF stretch) +nnu(2) (') combination modes, which are associated with the major progression of the nu(2) (') umbrella mode, are observed for the photodissociation of CF(3)I at the I channel, i.e., (3)Q(1) state. The bond dissociation energy of the CI bond of CF(3)I is determined to be D(0)(CF(3)-I)相似文献

Naphthalene cations (C10H+8) were produced in a slit jet coupled with an electronic discharge, and cavity ring down was used to obtain its absorption spectrum in the region 645-680 nm. Two of the strongest C10H+8 bands previously characterized by matrix isolation spectroscopy were found, both with a fractional blue shift of about 0.5%. This is the first gas-phase electronic absorption spectrum of an ionized polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon (PAH). This work opens the way for a direct comparison of laboratory PAH spectra with the diffuse interstellar bands (DIB), the origin of which still constitutes an open problem in astrophysics.  相似文献

We have observed infrared spectra of the CF(3)I dimer produced in a supersonic jet by matrix-isolation Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and infrared cavity ring-down (IR-CRD) spectroscopy. In the matrix-isolation experiments, the dimer was isolated in an Ar matrix by the pulse-deposition method. The recorded spectral range covers the symmetric (nu(1)) and doubly degenerate (nu(4)) C-F stretching regions. From the concentration dependence of the matrix-isolation spectra we have assigned one dimer band for each fundamental region. It was not easy to identify the dimer band for the nu(4) band because of the multiplet feature of the monomeric nu(4) band caused by the site symmetry breaking. The spectra of (CF(3)I)(2) in the nu(4) band region were thus also measured in the gas phase by IR-CRD spectroscopy, where we detected two dimer bands. Comparing the observed band positions with the results of quantum chemical calculations, we have assigned the observed dimer bands to the head-to-head isomer. The structure of (CF(3)I)(2) and its photochemical implications are discussed, in comparison with methyl iodide dimer reported previously [Ito et al., Chem. Phys. Lett. 343, 185 (2001)].  相似文献
