We study the phonon mode excitation of spin-orbit(SO) coupled Bose-Einstein condensates trapped in a one-dimensional optical lattice. The sound speed of the system is obtained analytically. Softening of the phonon mode,i.e., the vanishing of sound speed, in the optical lattice is revealed. When the lattice is absent, the softening of phonon mode occurs only at the phase transition point, which is not influenced by the atomic interaction and Raman coupling when the SO coupling is strong. However, when the lattice is present, the softening of phonon modes can take place in a regime near the phase transition point. Particularly, the regime is widened as lattice strength and SO coupling increase or atomic interaction decreases. The suppression of sound speed by the lattice strongly depends on atomic interaction, Raman coupling, and SO coupling. Furthermore, we find that the sound speed in plane wave phase regime and zero-momentum phase regime behaves with very different characteristics as Raman coupling and SO coupling change. In zero-momentum phase regime, sound speed monotonically increases/decreases with Raman coupling/SO coupling, while in plane wave phase regime, sound speed can either increase or decrease with Raman coupling and SO coupling, which depends on atomic interaction.  相似文献

研究由两个相同的二能级原子分别处于用单模光纤耦合的两弱相干光场系统的共生纠缠特性, 通过数值计算研究了光纤模-腔模与原子-腔模的耦合强度比、弱相干光场的强度和两光场相对相位差等因素对系统纠缠演化的影响. 结果表明: 两腔中的两原子之间、两光场之间和每个腔中的原子与光场之间的纠缠随时间呈现周期或准周期性演化, 两腔场之间的纠缠与腔中的两原子的纠缠可以相互转换, 与两原子之间和两光场之间的纠缠相比, 每个腔中光场与原子之间的纠缠随时间变化的周期缩短. 光纤模-腔模与原子-腔模的耦合强度比与两腔中光场相位差对系统纠缠的影响很大, 较小的光纤模-腔模与原子-腔模的耦合强度之比可以获得较大的系统纠缠度. 关键词: 弱相干场 光纤耦合腔 耦合强度 量子纠缠  相似文献

We demonstrate our ability to control and manipulate the optical modes in 2D Photonic Crystal Defect cavities and investigate their coupling to InGaAs self-assembled quantum dots. Our results enable us to probe the nature of individual cavity modes and directly investigate cavity QED phenomena. For the lowest mode volume cavities investigated, consisting of a single missing air hole within a hexagonal lattice, we have measured a clear Purcell enhancement of the light-matter interaction in the weak coupling regime. For QDs on-resonance with localized cavity modes this translates to a shortening of the quantum dot spontaneous emission lifetime by a factor 2 when compared to off-resonance dots.  相似文献

This paper discusses the entanglement dynamics of a coupled cavity quantum electrodynamics (CQED) setup, which comprises three two-level atoms resonantly interacting with three cavities that are coupled by two optical fibers. The influences of atom-cavity coupling constant on the entanglement between atoms and that between cavities are discussed. The results obtained from the numerical method show that the entanglement between non-adjacent atoms or that between adjacent cavities has a nonlinear relation with increasing of the atom-cavity coupling coefficient. On the other hand, the entanglement between non-adjacent cavities is strengthened and the entanglement between adjacent atoms is weakened with increasing of atom-cavity coupling constant.  相似文献

We prepare a Bose-Einstein condensed gas in a three-dimensional optical lattice and study the excitation spectrum of the superfluid phase for different interaction strengths. We probe the response of the system by modulating the depth of the optical lattice along one axis. The interactions can be controlled independently by varying the tunnel coupling along the other two lattice axes. In the weakly interacting regime we observe a small susceptibility of the superfluid to excitations, while for stronger interactions an unexpected resonance appears in the excitation spectrum. In addition we measure the coherent fraction of the atomic gas, which determines the depletion of the condensate.  相似文献

This paper details the conditions for which a c.w. OPO pumped by a single mode field is working in a single or multimode regime. It shows that c.w. OPOs are intrinsically single mode systems in the steady state regime, both for the longitudinal and transverse modes, unless special conditions of mode degeneracy or mode coupling are met. Complex optical patterns may appear in such cicumstances, that we have recently observed. Furthermore, if one adds a linear coupling between the signal and idler modes, these two modes can phase-lock on each other: one then obtains a perfect degenerate single mode operation for the c.w. The master equation is derived for an atom and a single high-Q cavity mode interacting with the bath modes produced by a two-mode broadband source based on two degenerate optical parametric oscillators. The relaxation superoperator, found in the resonant and dispersive limits, contains new terms describing correlations between the atom and the cavity mode. Collective coherent states are introduced to show that squeezed states of the atom-cavity subsystem are generated via interaction with an entangled environment. It is shown that a correlated initial state of the atom and the cavity mode manifests itself in two cavity QED phenomena: spontaneous atomic emission in the strong-coupling regime and population inversion in the Jaynes-Cummings model.  相似文献

The coupling of individual atoms to a high-finesse optical cavity is precisely controlled and adjusted using a standing-wave dipole-force trap, a challenge for strong atom-cavity coupling. Ultracold Rubidium atoms are first loaded into potential minima of the dipole trap in the center of the cavity. Then we use the trap as a conveyor belt that we set into motion perpendicular to the cavity axis. This allows us to repetitively move atoms out of and back into the cavity mode with a repositioning precision of 135 nm. This makes it possible to either selectively address one atom of a string of atoms by the cavity, or to simultaneously couple two precisely separated atoms to a higher mode of the cavity.  相似文献

We study the entanglement evolution between two atoms, which are initially entangled with a third atom and trapped in two separated cavities coupled by an optical fiber. We also investigate the temporal evolution in the entanglement between the atom and the local cavity mode. The influence of the state-selective measurement on the atom outside the cavities and the influence of cavity-fiber coupling coefficient on the entanglement are discussed. The results show that the entanglement can be strengthened through the state-selective measurement on the atom outside the cavities. We also find that, by increasing the cavity-fiber coupling coefficient, the atom-atom entanglement is strengthened, but the atom-cavity entanglement is weakened.  相似文献

Dynamics of quantum entanglement of two qubits in two identical quantum Rabi models is studied analytically in the framework of corrections to the rotating-wave approximations.A closed-form expression for the entanglement dynamics initiated from the well-known Bell states is derived,which is very close to the numerical exact results up to the ultrastrong coupling regime.It is found that the vanishing entanglement can be purely induced by the counter-rotating terms,and can be enhanced with the atom-cavity coupling.  相似文献

A classical realization of the Jaynes-Cummings (JC) model, describing the interaction of a two-level atom with a quantized cavity mode, is proposed based on light transport in engineered waveguide superlattices. The optical setting enables us to visualize in Fock space dynamical regimes not yet accessible in quantum systems, providing new physical insights into the deep strong coupling regime of the JC model. In particular, bouncing of photon number wave packets in Hilbert space and revivals of populations are explained as generalized Bloch oscillations in an inhomogeneous tight-binding lattice.  相似文献

超高精细度微共振器是实现原子或者其他偶极子与腔强耦合作用的基本部分, 在腔量子电动力学(QED)、弱光非线性效应及微光学器件研究中扮演着重要的角色. 微腔基本参数的精密测量最终可以确定腔与原子的耦合系数、腔场衰减率, 对决定系统的动力学特性具有重要的意义. 但是由于超高精细度光学微腔本身的构造和多层镀膜的特点, 高精度地确定其共振频率及有效腔长存在一定困难. 本文结合修正的多层介质膜模型, 实验上完成了膜层为37层的超高精细度光学微腔在不同共振频率下有效腔长的精密测量, 获得了超高精细度光学微腔的共振频率及波长; 理论计算分析与实验测量结果相符, 对纵模间隔的测量精度误差低于0.004 nm, 较为修正前提高了约两个量级. 同时给出了对应不同模式数下, 光波渗入到介质中的深度. 该方法可望应用到其他微共振器的精密测量中. 关键词: 光学微腔 高精细度 共振频率  相似文献

The dispersive coupling between a qubit and a cavity mode is widely used for performing non-destructive readout of the qubit state. In this approach, it is typically required that the dispersive strong coupling regime is achieved. Here we show that the use of an auxiliary cavity mode reduces by orders of magnitude the required value of the dispersive coupling, for a given decay rate of the cavity mode. The analysis is performed within the input-output formalism, in terms of the photon scattering matrix elements and of the signal-to-noise ratio. We derive simple analytical expressions for the optimal parameters and recover the standard single-mode result as a limiting case. The present results can also be applied to the qubit readout based on longitudinal cavity-qubit interactions, and to any sensing scheme where the cavity frequency is used as a probe to estimate some physical parameter of interest.  相似文献

The number of atoms trapped within the mode of an optical cavity is determined in real time by monitoring the transmission of a weak probe beam. Continuous observation of atom number is accomplished in the strong coupling regime of cavity quantum electrodynamics and functions in concert with a cooling scheme for radial atomic motion. The probe transmission exhibits sudden steps from one plateau to the next in response to the time evolution of the intracavity atom number, from N>or=3 to N=2-->1-->0 atoms, with some trapping events lasting over 1 s.  相似文献

The optical absorption of the Fr?hlich polaron model is obtained by an approximation-free diagrammatic Monte Carlo method and compared with two new approximate approaches that treat lattice relaxation effects in different ways. We show that: (i) a strong coupling expansion, based on the Franck-Condon principle, well describes the optical conductivity for large coupling strengths (alpha > 10); (ii) a memory function formalism with phonon broadened levels reproduces the optical response for weak coupling strengths (alpha < 6) taking the dynamic lattice relaxation into account. In the coupling regime 6 < alpha < 10, the optical conductivity is a rapidly changing superposition of both Franck-Condon and dynamic contributions.  相似文献
