We study the asymptotic behavior in time of solutions to the initial value problem of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a subcritical dissipative nonlinearity λ|u|p−1u, where 1<p<1+2/n, n is the space dimension and λ is a complex constant satisfying Imλ<0. We show the time decay estimates and the large-time asymptotics of the solution, when the space dimension n?3, p is sufficiently close to 1+2/n and the initial data is sufficiently small.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the global well-posedness and scattering theory of an 8-D cubic nonlinear fourth-order Schrödinger equation, which is perturbed by a subcritical nonlinearity. We utilize the strategies in Tao et al. (2007) [16] and Zhang (2006) [17] to obtain when the cubic term is defocusing, the solution is always global no matter what the sign of the subcritical perturbation term is. Moreover, scattering will occur either when the pertubation is defocusing and 1<p<2 or when the mass of the solution is small enough and 1≤p<2.  相似文献

We find blow-up solutions of nonlinear wave equations with cubic nonlinearity, in any number of space dimensions, and study the asymptotic behavior of their Lp norms and “energy”. The Lp norm blows up if the blow-up surface has an interior non-degenerate minimum and p?n/2. For less smooth right-hand sides, and 0<ε<1, we give examples for which the Lp norm blows up if p?n/(1+ε); their Cauchy data are unbounded, but blow-up is not instantaneous. A priori bounds for positive, very weak solutions of semilinear elliptic boundary value problems −Δu=f(x,u) on a bounded domain ΩRn with u=0 on ∂Ω are studied, where the nonlinearity 0?f(x,s) grows at most like sp. If Ω is a Lipschitz domain we exhibit two exponents p* and p*, which depend on the boundary behavior of the Green function and on the smallest interior opening angle of ∂Ω. We prove that for 1<p<p* all positive very weak solutions are a priori bounded in L. For p>p* we construct a nonlinearity f(x,s)=a(x)sp together with a positive very weak solution which does not belong to L. Finally we exhibit a class of domains for which p*=p*. For such domains we have found a true critical exponent for very weak solutions. In the case of smooth domains is an exponent which is well known from classical work of Brezis, Turner [H. Brezis, R.E.L. Turner, On a class of superlinear elliptic problems, Comm. Partial Differential Equations 2 (1977) 601-614] and from recent work of Quittner, Souplet [P. Quittner, Ph. Souplet, A priori estimates and existence for elliptic systems via bootstrap in weighted Lebesgue spaces, Arch. Ration. Mech. Anal. 174 (2004) 49-81].  相似文献

We prove that an asymptotically linear Dirichlet problem which involves the p-Laplacian operator has multiple radial solutions when the nonlinearity has a positive zero and the range of the ‘p-derivative’ of the nonlinearity includes at least the first j radial eigenvalues of the p-Laplacian operator. The main tools that we use are a uniqueness result for the p-Laplacian operator and bifurcation theory.  相似文献

For a given bounded domain Ω in Rn with C1,? boundary for some 0<?<1, and a possibly singular nonlinearity f on Ω×(0,∞), we give sufficient conditions on f so that the p-Laplace equation −Δpu=f(x,u) admits a solution . In this paper, we analyze the exponential decay property of solutions of the semilinear wave equation in with a damping term which is effective on the exterior of a ball. Under suitable and natural assumptions on the nonlinearity we prove that the exponential decay holds locally uniformly for finite energy solutions provided the nonlinearity is subcritical at infinity. Subcriticality means, roughly speaking, that the nonlinearity grows at infinity at most as a power p<5. The method of proof combines classical energy estimates for the linear wave equation allowing to estimate the total energy of solutions in terms of the energy localized in the exterior of a ball, Strichartz's estimates and results by P. Gérard on microlocal defect measures and linearizable sequences. We also give an application to the stabilization and controllability of the semilinear wave equation in a bounded domain under the same growth condition on the nonlinearity but provided the nonlinearity has been cut-off away from the boundary.  相似文献

We construct a power bounded operator on a Hilbert space which is not quasisimilar to a contraction. To this aim, we solve an open problem from operator ergodic theory showing that there are power bounded Hilbert space operators without the Blum-Hanson property. We also find an example of a power bounded operator quasisimilar to a unitary operator which is not similar to a contraction, thus answering negatively open questions raised by Kérchy and Cassier. On the positive side, we prove that contractions on ?p spaces (1?p<∞) possess the Blum-Hanson property.  相似文献

Extending a previous result of Tang [1] we prove the uniqueness of positive radial solutions of Δpu+f(u)=0, subject to Dirichlet boundary conditions on an annulus in Rn with 2<pn, under suitable hypotheses on the nonlinearity f. This argument also provides an alternative proof for the uniqueness of positive solutions of the same problem in a finite ball (see [9]), in the complement of a ball or in the whole space Rn (see [10], [3] and [11]).  相似文献

We are concerned with singular elliptic problems of the form −Δu±p(d(x))g(u)=λf(x,u)+μa|∇u| in Ω, where Ω is a smooth bounded domain in RN, d(x)=dist(x,∂Ω), λ>0, μR, 0<a?2, and f is a nondecreasing function. We assume that p(d(x)) is a positive weight with possible singular behavior on the boundary of Ω and that the nonlinearity g is unbounded around the origin. Taking into account the competition between the anisotropic potential p(d(x)), the convection term a|∇u|, and the singular nonlinearity g, we establish various existence and nonexistence results.  相似文献

We consider a mixed problem of a damped wave equation utt−Δu+ut=|u|p in the two dimensional exterior domain case. Small global in time solutions can be constructed in the case when the power p on the nonlinear term |u|p satisfies p∗=2<p<+∞. For this purpose we shall deal with a radially symmetric solution in the exterior domain. A new device developed in Ikehata-Matsuyama (Sci. Math. We study the blow-up and/or global existence of the following p-Laplacian evolution equation with variable source power

where Ω is either a bounded domain or the whole space ? N , q(x) is a positive and continuous function defined in Ω with 0 < q ? = inf q(x) ? q(x) ? sup q(x) = q+ < ∞. It is demonstrated that the equation with variable source power has much richer dynamics with interesting phenomena which depends on the interplay of q(x) and the structure of spatial domain Ω, compared with the case of constant source power. For the case that Ω is a bounded domain, the exponent p ? 1 plays a crucial role. If q+ > p ? 1, there exist blow-up solutions, while if q + < p ? 1, all the solutions are global. If q ? > p ? 1, there exist global solutions, while for given q ? < p ? 1 < q +, there exist some function q(x) and Ω such that all nontrivial solutions will blow up, which is called the Fujita phenomenon. For the case Ω = ? N , the Fujita phenomenon occurs if 1 < q ? ? q + ? p ? 1 + p/N, while if q ? > p ? 1 + p/N, there exist global solutions.

The paper deals with the multivalued initial value problem xA(t,x)x+F(t,x) for a.a. t∈[a,b], x(a)=x0 in a separable, reflexive Banach space E. The nonlinearity F is weakly upper semicontinuous in x and the investigation includes the case when both A and F have a superlinear growth in x. We prove the existence of local and global classical solutions in the Sobolev space W1,p([a,b],E) with 1<p<∞. Introducing a suitably defined Lyapunov-like function, we are able to investigate the topological structure of the solution set. Our main tool is a continuation principle in Frechét spaces and we prove the required pushing condition in two different ways. Some examples complete the discussion.  相似文献

We consider a semigroup of Markovian and symmetric operators to which we associate fractional Sobolev spaces Dαp (0 < α < 1 and 1 < p < ∞) defined as domains of fractional powers (−Ap)α/2, where Ap is the generator of the semigroup in Lp. We show under rather general assumptions that Lipschitz continuous functions operate by composition on Dαp if p ≥ 2. This holds in particular in the case of the Ornstein-Uhlenbeck semigroup on an abstract Wiener space.  相似文献

We study the geometry of the set Δp, with 1<p<∞, which consists of perturbations of the identity operator by p-Schatten class operators, which are positive and invertible as elements of B(H). These manifolds have natural and invariant Finsler structures. In [C. Conde, Geometric interpolation in p-Schatten class, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 340 (2008) 920-931], we introduced the metric dp and exposed several results about this metric space. The aim of this work is to prove that the space (Δp,dp) behaves in many senses like a nonpositive curvature metric space.  相似文献
