Let μ be a finite positive Borel measure supported in [−1,1] and introduce the discrete Sobolev-type inner product
where the mass points ak belong to [−1,1], Mk,i0, i=0,…,Nk−1, and Mk,Nk>0. In this paper, we study the asymptotics of the Sobolev orthogonal polynomials by comparison with the orthogonal polynomials with respect to the measure μ and we prove that they have the same asymptotic behaviour. We also study the pointwise convergence of the Fourier series associated to this inner product provided that μ is the Jacobi measure. We generalize the work done by F. Marcellán and W. Van Assche where they studied the asymptotics for only one mass point in [−1,1]. The same problem with a finite number of mass points off [−1,1] was solved by G. López, F. Marcellán and W. Van Assche in a more general setting: they consider the constants Mk,i to be complex numbers. As regards the Fourier series, we continue the results achieved by F. Marcellán, B. Osilenker and I.A. Rocha for the Jacobi measure and mass points in .  相似文献

This paper discusses Sobolev orthogonal polynomials for a class of scalar products that contains the sequentially dominated products introduced by Lagomasino and Pijeira. We prove asymptotics for Markov type functions associated to the Sobolev scalar product and an extension of Widom's Theorem on the location of the zeroes of the orthogonal polynomials. In the case of measures supported in the real line, we obtain results related to the determinacy of the Sobolev moment problem and the completeness of the polynomials in a suitably defined weighted Sobolev space.  相似文献

The concepts of definite and determinate Sobolev moment problem are introduced. The study of these questions is reduced to the definiteness or determinacy, respectively, of a system of classical moment problems by means of a canonical decomposition of the moment matrix associated with a Sobolev inner product in terms of Hankel matrices.  相似文献

This paper deals with the bilinear symmetrization problem associated with Sobolev inner products. Let 007B;Q n } n=0 be the sequence of monic polynomials orthogonal with respect to a Sobolev inner product of order 1 when one of the measures is discrete and the other one is a nondiscrete positive Borel measure. Furthermore, assume that the supports of such measures are symmetric with respect to the origin so that the corresponding odd moments vanish. We consider the orthogonality properties of the sequences of monic polynomials 007B;P n } n=0 and {R n } n=0 such that Q 2n (x)=P n (x 2), Q 2n+1(x)=xR n (x 2). Let F be a non-archimedean local field of odd residual characteristic. Let (J,τ) be a maximal simple type in GLN(F) for the inertial class [GLN(F),π]GLN(F) of a self-contragredient supercuspidal irreducible representation π of GLN(F). Identify GLN(F) to the standard Siegel Levi subgroup in Sp2N(F). We construct, in Sp2N(F), a type for the inertial class [GLN(F),π]Sp2N(F), as a Sp2N(F)-cover of (J,τ), strongly related to the GL2N(F)-cover of (J×J,ττ) in GL2N(F) constructed by Bushnell and Kutzko and which induces to a simple type in GL2N(F). In the process, we show that if τ has positive level, then the maximal simple type (J,τ) may be attached to a simple stratum [A,n,0,β] where the field F[β] is a quadratic extension of F[β2], and to a simple character θ in C(A,0,β) Galois conjugate of its inverse.  相似文献

In this paper, we give an algorithmic method of constructing inner product formulas which contain weighted inner products of holomorphic functions on the unit ball. This result covers all inner product formulas which have been proved before. As an application, we prove Zhu’s characterization theorem by an elementary method. Finally, by using one-to-one correspondence between inner product formulas and lattices with circles, we prove all inner product formulas again without any complicated computation.  相似文献

This paper deals with a batch service queue and multiple vacations. The system consists of a single server and a waiting room of finite capacity. Arrival of customers follows a Markovian arrival process (MAP). The server is unavailable for occasional intervals of time called vacations, and when it is available, customers are served in batches of maximum size ‘b’ with a minimum threshold value ‘a’. We obtain the queue length distributions at various epochs along with some key performance measures. Finally, some numerical results have been presented.  相似文献
