In this paper, we study the convergence of the wave equation with variable internal damping term γn(x)ut to the wave equation with boundary damping γ(x)⊗δx∈∂Ωut when (γn(x)) converges to γ(x)⊗δx∈∂Ω in the sense of distributions. When the domain Ω in which these equations are defined is an interval in R, we show that, under natural hypotheses, the compact global attractor of the wave equation damped on the interior converges in X=H1(Ω)×L2(Ω) to the one of the wave equation damped on the boundary, and that the dynamics on these attractors are equivalent. We also prove, in the higher-dimensional case, that the attractors are lower-semicontinuous in X and upper-semicontinuous in H1−ε(Ω)×H−ε(Ω). 相似文献

The aim of this paper is twofold: First, we characterize an essentially optimal class of boundary operators Θ which give rise to self-adjoint Laplacians −ΔΘ,Ω in L2(Ω;dnx) with (nonlocal and local) Robin-type boundary conditions on bounded Lipschitz domains Ω⊂Rn, n∈N, n?2. Second, we extend Friedlander's inequalities between Neumann and Dirichlet Laplacian eigenvalues to those between nonlocal Robin and Dirichlet Laplacian eigenvalues associated with bounded Lipschitz domains Ω, following an approach introduced by Filonov for this type of problems. 相似文献

We study the long time behavior of solutions for damped wave equations with absorption. These equations are generally accepted as models of wave propagation in heterogeneous media with space-time dependent friction a(t,x)ut and nonlinear absorption |u|p−1u (Ikawa (2000) [17]). We consider 1<p<(n+2)/(n−2) and separable a(t,x)=λ(x)η(t) with λ(x)∼(1+|x|)−α and η(t)∼(1+t)−β satisfying conditions (A1) or (A2) which are given. The main results are precise decay estimates for the energy, L2 and Lp+1 norms of solutions. We also observe the following behavior: if α∈[0,1), β∈(−1,1) and 0<α+β<1, there are three different regions for the decay of solutions depending on p; if α∈(−∞,0) and β∈(−1,1), there are only two different regions for the decay of the solutions depending on p. 相似文献

For α>0, we study the singular integral operators TΩ,α and the Marcinkiewicz integral operator μΩ,α. The kernels of these operators behave like |y|−n−α near y=0, and contain a distribution Ω on the unit sphere Sn−1. We prove that if Ω∈Hr(Sn−1)(r=(n−1)/(n−1+α)) satisfying certain cancellation condition, then both TΩ,α and μΩ,α can be extend to be the bounded operators from the Sobolev space to the Lebesgue space Lp(Rn). If the gradient of u(x) is nth power locally integrable on Euclidean n-space, then the integral average over a ball B of the exponential of a constant multiple of |u(x)−uB|n/(n−1), uB=average of u over B, tends to 1 as the radius of B shrinks to zero—for quasi almost all center points. This refines a result of N. Trudinger (1967). We prove here a similar result for the class of gradients in Ln(log(e+L))α, 0?α?n−1. The Navier problem is to find a solution of the steady-state Navier-Stokes equations such that the normal component of the velocity and a linear combination of the tangential components of the velocity and the traction assume prescribed value a and s at the boundary. If Ω is exterior it is required that the velocity converges to an assigned constant vector u0 at infinity. We prove that a solution exists in a bounded domain provided ‖a‖L2(∂Ω) is less than a computable positive constant and is unique if ‖a‖W1/2,2(∂Ω)+‖s‖L2(∂Ω) is suitably small. We study the equation Δu+u|u|p−1+V(x)u+f(x)=0 in Rn, where n?3 and p>n/(n−2). The forcing term f and the potential V can be singular at zero, change sign and decay polynomially at infinity. We can consider anisotropic potentials of form h(x)|x|−2 where h is not purely angular. We obtain solutions u which blow up at the origin and do not belong to any Lebesgue space Lr.
