We discuss the invariant subspace problem of polynomially bounded operators on a Banach space and obtain an invariant subspace theorem for polynomially bounded operators. At the same time, we state two open problems, which are relative propositions of this invariant subspace theorem. By means of the two relative propositions (if they are true), together with the result of this paper and the result of C.Ambrozie and V.Müller (2004) one can obtain an important conclusion that every polynomially bounded operator on a Banach space whose spectrum contains the unit circle has a nontrivial invariant closed subspace. This conclusion can generalize remarkably the famous result that every contraction on a Hilbert space whose spectrum contains the unit circle has a nontrivial invariant closed subspace (1988 and 1997).  相似文献

In this paper, we find sufficient and necessary conditions for a triangularizable closed algebra of polynomially compact operators to be commutative modulo the radical. We also prove that an algebraic algebra of operators of a bounded degree on a Banach space is triangularizable under some mild additional conditions. As a special case we obtain a result stating that every algebraic algebra of operators of bounded degree is triangularizable whenever its commutators are nilpotent operators.  相似文献

Let T be a polynomially bounded operator on a Banach space X whose spectrum contains the unit circle. Then T∗ has a nontrivial invariant subspace. In this article, we give a characterization of a class of bounded Fredholm operators on a Banach space which is developed to present some general existence results of the operators equation of the second kind. The obtained results are used to describe the Riesz–Schauder theory of compact operators in the more general setting of polynomially compact operators.  相似文献

We present fixed point theorems for a nonexpansive mapping from a closed convex subset of a uniformly convex Banach space into itself under some asymptotic contraction assumptions. They generalize results valid for bounded convex sets or asymptotically compact sets.

We prove, by explicit construction, that not all sets definable in polynomially bounded o-minimal structures have mild parameterization. Our methods do not depend on the bounds particular to the definition of mildness and therefore our construction is also valid for a generalized form of parameterization, which we call G-mild. Moreover, we present a cell decomposition result for certain o-minimal structures which may be of independent interest. This allows us to show how our construction can produce polynomially bounded, model complete expansions of the real ordered field which, in addition to lacking G-mild parameterization, nonetheless still have analytic cell decomposition.  相似文献

In this paper we give some result about the approximation of a Lipschitz function on a Banach space by means of Δ-convex functions. In particular, we prove that the density of Δ-convex functions in the set of Lipschitz functions for the topology of uniform convergence on bounded sets characterizes the superreflexivity of the Banach space. We also show that Lipschitz functions on superreflexive Banach spaces are uniform limits on the whole space of Δ-convex functions.  相似文献

In the first part of the paper we examine mappings of higher order from a general point of view, that is, in normed spaces of bounded real-valued functions defined on RR. Particular attention is paid to the relation of such mappings with the so-called autonomous superposition operators. Next we investigate mappings of higher order in Banach spaces of almost periodic functions and their perturbations. We also give necessary and sufficient conditions guaranteeing that a nonautonomous superposition operator acts in the space of almost periodic functions in the sense of Levitan and is uniformly continuous. In the Banach space of bounded almost periodic functions in the sense of Levitan we discuss mappings of higher order and a convolution operator. Some applications to nonlinear differential and integral equations are given.  相似文献

We ask when the space ofN-homogeneous analytic polynomials on a Banach space is reflexive. This turns out to be related to whether polynomials are weakly sequentially continuous, and to the geometry of spreading models. For example, if these spaces are reflexive for allN, no quotient of the dual space may have a spreading model with an upperq-estimate, and every bounded holomorphic function on the unit ball has a Taylor series made up of weakly sequentially continuous polynomials (we assume the approximation property). Alencar, Aron and Dineen [AAD] gave the first example of some properties of a polynomially reflexive space (usingT*, the original Tsirelson space); we show that these properties and others are shared by all polynomially reflexive spaces. This paper forms a portion of the Ph. D. dissertation of the author, under the supervision of W. B. Johnson.  相似文献

We study the representation for functions of shift operator acting upon bounded sequences of elements of a Banach space. An estimate is obtained for the bounded solution of a linear difference equation in the Banach space. For two types of differential equations in Banach spaces, we present sufficient conditions for their bounded solutions to be limits of bounded solutions of the corresponding difference equations and establish estimates for the rate of convergence.  相似文献

We extend operators from the Cameron-Martin space to Gaussian Lusinian locally convex space. We then are allowed to give sense to the Mehler formula for every such bounded operator. An application is made to Hilbert-Schmidt operators. Next we show that capacities asociated to second quantizations of operators are tight on compact sets, and this is a general result even if the underlying space is not a Banach space.
