In this paper, we study a class of superlinear semipositone singular second order Dirichlet boundary value problem. A sufficient condition for the existence of positive solution is obtained under the more simple assumptions.     

Existence of positive solutions for singular boundary value problem on time scales

This paper deals with a class of boundary value problem of singular differential equations on time scales. The conditions we used here differ from those in the majority of papers as we know. An existence theorem of positive solutions is established by using the Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem and an example is given to illustrate it.     

On existence of positive solutions of Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems for a nonlinear singular differential system

By employing the fixed point theorem of cone expansion and compression of norm type, we investigate the existence of positive solutions of Sturm-Liouville boundary value problems for a nonlinear singular differential system. Some well-known results in the literature are generalized and improved. An example is presented to illustrate the application of our main result.     

Branches of positive and free boundary solutions for some singular quasilinear elliptic problems

We study the existence and multiplicity of solutions, strictly positive or nonnegative having a free boundary (the boundary of the set where the solution vanishes) of some one-dimensional quasilinear problems of eigenvalue type with possibly singular nonlinear terms.     

Boundary behavior of solutions to some singular elliptic boundary value problems

Let Ω be a bounded domain with smooth boundary in . For the more general weight b, some nonlinearities f and singularities g, by two kinds of nonlinear transformations, a new perturbation method, which was introduced by García Melián in [J. García Melián, Boundary behavior of large solutions to elliptic equations with singular weights, Nonlinear Anal. 67 (2007) 818–826], and comparison principles, we show that the boundary behavior of solutions to a boundary blow-up elliptic problem Δw=b(x)f(w),w>0,xΩ,w|_∂Ω=∞ and a singular Dirichlet problem −Δu=b(x)g(u),u>0,xΩ,u|_∂Ω=0 has the same form under the nonlinear transformations, which can be determined in terms of the inverses of the transformations.     

Existence and multiplicity of positive solutions for singular quasilinear problems

In this work we combine perturbation arguments and variational methods to study the existence and multiplicity of positive solutions for a class of singular p-Laplacian problems. In the first two theorems we prove the existence of solutions in the sense of distributions. By strengthening the hypotheses, in the third and last result, we establish the existence of two ordered positive weak solutions.

Fucik spectrum, sign-changing and multiple solutions for semilinear elliptic boundary value problems with jumping nonlinearities at zero and infinity

In this paper, Fucik spectrum, ordinary differential equation theory of Banach spaces and Morse theory are used to study semilinear elliptic boundary value problems with jumping nonlinearities at zero or infinity, and some new results on the existence of nontrivial solutions, multiple solutions and sign-changing solutions are obtained. In one case seven nontrivial solutions are got. The techniques have independent interest.

Positive solutions of singular third-order three-point boundary value problems

The positive solutions of a class of singular third-order three-point boundary value problems are considered by using the Guo-Krasnosel'skii fixed point theorem of cone expansion-compression type. In this class of problems, the nonlinear term is allowed to be singular. Main results show that this class of problems can have n positive solutions provided that the conditions on the nonlinear term on some bounded sets are appropriate.
