Summary We study stability aspects of collocation methods for Abel-type integral equations of the first kind using piecewise polynomials. These collocation methods may be formulated as projection methods. Stability is defined as the boundedness of the sequence of projectors in their natural setting. Robustness is essentially the optimal asymptotic insensitivity to perturbations in the data. We show that stability and robustness are equivalent for the above collocation methods. This allows us to obtain optimal error estimates for some methods that are well-known to be robust. Event-based control aims at reducing the amount of information which is communicated between sensors, actuators and controllers in a networked control system. The feedback link is only closed at times at which an event indicates the need for an information update to retain a desired performance. Between consecutive event times the control loop acts as a continuous system, whereas at the event times it performs a state jump. Thus, the event-based control loop belongs to the class of hybrid dynamical systems. In this paper a new method for decentralized event-based control is proposed. Two methods are presented for the stability analysis of the decentralized event-based state feedback control of physically interconnected systems. The comparison principle leads to a stability criterion that provides an upper bound for the coupling strength for which the stability of the uncoupled event-based control loops implies ultimate boundedness of the interconnected event-based system. It is shown that ultimate boundedness of the event-based state-feedback loop is implied by the asymptotic stability of the continuous state-feedback system. Furthermore, it is explained how the number of events can be reduced by estimating the interconnection signals between the subsystems and two different estimation methods are proposed. The derived methods are demonstrated for a thermofluid process by simulation and experiments.  相似文献

A ratio-dependent predator-prey model with time lag for predator is proposed and analyzed. Mathematical analyses of the model equations with regard to boundedness of solutions, nature of equilibria, permanence, and stability are analyzed. We note that for a ratio-dependent system local asymptotic stability of the positive steady state does not even guarantee the so-called persistence of the system and, therefore, does not imply global asymptotic stability. It is found that an orbitally asymptotically stable periodic orbit exists in that model. Some sufficient conditions which guarantee the global stability of positive equilibrium are given.  相似文献

In this paper, we shall use multiple Lyapunov functions to establish some sufficient criteria for locating the limit sets of solutions of stochastic differential equations with respect to semimartingales. From them follow many useful results on stochastic asymptotic stability and boundedness, including some classical results as special cases. In particular, our new asymptotic stability criteria do not require the diffusion operator associated with the underlying stochastic differential equation be negative definite, while most of the existing results do require this negative definite property essentially.  相似文献

In this paper we study the Degn–Harrison system with a generalized reaction term. Once proved the global existence and boundedness of a unique solution, we address the asymptotic behavior of the system. The conditions for the global asymptotic stability of the steady state solution are derived using the appropriate techniques based on the eigen-analysis, the Poincaré–Bendixson theorem and the direct Lyapunov method. Numerical simulations are also shown to corroborate the asymptotic stability predictions.Moreover, we determine the constraints on the size of the reactor and the diffusion coefficient such that the system does not admit non-constant positive steady state solutions.  相似文献

This paper addresses dynamic synchronization of two FitzHugh-Nagumo (FHN) systems coupled with gap junctions. All the states of the coupled chaotic system, treating either as single-input or two-input control system, are synchronized by stabilizing their error dynamics, using simplest and locally robust control laws. The local asymptotic stability, chosen by utilizing the local Lipschitz nonlinear property of the model to address additionally the non-failure of the achieved synchronization, is ensured by formulating the matrix inequalities on the basis of Lyapunov stability theory. In the presence of disturbances, it ensures the local uniform ultimate boundedness. Furthermore, the robustness of the proposed methods is ensured against bounded disturbances besides providing the upper bound on disturbances. To the best of our knowledge, this is the computationally simplest solution for synchronization of coupled FHN modeled systems along with unique advantages of less conservative local asymptotic stability of synchronization errors with robustness. Numerical simulations are carried out to successfully validate the proposed control strategies.  相似文献
