The black hole information problem provides important clues for trying to piece together a quantum theory of gravity. Discussions on this topic have generally assumed that in a consistent theory of gravity and quantum mechanics, quantum theory is unmodified. In this review, we discuss the black hole information problem in the context of generalisations of quantum theory. In this preliminary exploration, we examine black holes in the setting of generalised probabilistic theories, in which quantum theory and classical probability theory are special cases. We are able to calculate the time it takes information to escape a black hole, assuming that information is preserved. In quantum mechanics, information should escape pure state black holes after half the Hawking photons have been emitted, but we find that this get’s modified in generalisations of quantum mechanics. Likewise the black-hole mirror result of Hayden and Preskill, that information from entangled black holes can escape quickly, also get’s modified. We find that although information exits the black hole as predicted by quantum theory, it is fairly generic that it fails to appear outside the black hole at this point—something impossible in quantum theory due to the no-hiding theorem. The information is neither inside the black hole, nor outside it, but is delocalised.

A model black hole, holding a ‘quantum core’ characterized by the Planck order matter density, is revisited here. Based on the quantum improved Newton’s potential drawn out of the loop quantum cosmology we propose a Schwarzschild class, quantum improved black hole line-element that upholds the existence of Planck-dense quantum matter core. Causality is kept preserved in this proposal. Quite in a natural way the quantum core emerges closely homogeneous in its interior matter distribution. The radius of the quantum core turns out to be necessarily proportional to one-third power of the black hole mass. Hawking process of black hole evaporation leads to a shrinking quantum core, and as the mass of black hole approaches near about the Planck mass, the rate of evaporation diminishes rapidly and eventually leaves a cold remnant having a Planck order mass. Proposed model supports the standard quantum geometrical logarithmic correction to black hole entropy-area law.

Taking into account the effect of the generalized uncertainty principle on the generalized black hole entropy and tacking the thin film brick-wall model, we calculate the entropy of the quantum scalar field in generalized static black hole. The Bekenstein–Hawking entropies of all well-known static black holes are obtained. The entropy of 2-D membrane just at the event horizon of static black hole is also calculated, and the result of the black hole entropy proportional to the event horizon area can be obtained more easily and generally. This discussion shows that black hole entropy is just identified with the entropy of the quantum field on the event horizon. The difference from the original brick-wall model is that the present result is convergent without any cutoff and the little mass approximation is removed. With residue theorem, the integral difficulty in the calculation of black hole entropy is overcome.

A method for calculating the radiation spectrum of an arbitrary black holes was recently proposed by Ma et al., [Europhys. Lett. 122 (2018) 30001] in which a non-thermal spectrum of a black hole can be obtained from its entropy using an approach based on canonical typicality. The non-thermal spectrum of a black hole enables a nonzero correlation between the black hole and its radiation, which can ensure that information is conserved during black hole evaporation. In this paper, by using the Kantowski-Sachs metric and Feynman-Hibbs procedure, the entropy of a noncommutative quantum black hole is calculated based on the Wheeler-DeWitt equation. Then, the radiation spectrum of the noncommutative quantum black hole is studied based on canonical typicality method. At last, the correlation between the radiation spectra is calculated. It is shown that the noncommutative effect increases the correlation among radiation and the information remains conserved for noncommutative quantum black holes.

Nernst Theorem and Statistical Entropy of 5-Dimensional Rotating Black Hole
In this paper, by using quantum statistical method, we obtain the partition function of Bose field and Fermi field on the background of the 5-dimensional rotating black hole. Then via the improved brick-wall method and membrane model, we calculate the entropy of Bose field and Fermi field of the black hole. And it is obtained that the entropy of the black hole is not only related to the area of the outer horizon but also is the function of inner horizon‘s area. In our results, there are not the left out term and the divergent logarithmic term in the original brick-wall method. The doubt that why the entropy of the scalar or Dirac field outside the event horizon is the entropy of the black hole in the original brick-wall method does not exist. The influence of spinning degeneracy of particles on entropy of the black hole is also given. It is shown that the entropy determined by the areas of the inner and outer horizons will approach zero, when the radiation temperature of the black hole approaches absolute zero. It satisfies Nernst theorem. The entropy can be taken as the Planck absolute entropy. We provide a way to study higher dimensional black hole.

A modified de Broglie-Bohm approach is generalized to the Schwarzschild black hole. By using this method, the quantum potential and the quantum trajectories of the black hole are investigated. And we find that the linear combination of two particular solutions of the black hole wavefunction is not physical although each of them is physical, if we think that the quantum gravity should reduce into its corresponding classical counterpart in which the gravity vanishes. It seems to confirm the argument, given by Alwis and MacIntire, that a possible resolution on the quantum gravity is to give up the superposition principle.

By analyzing the key properties of black holes from the point of view of quantum information, we derive a model‐independent picture of black hole quantum computing. It has been noticed that this picture exhibits striking similarities with quantum critical condensates, allowing the use of a common language to describe quantum computing in both systems. We analyze such quantum computing by allowing coupling to external modes, under the condition that the external influence must be soft‐enough in order not to offset the basic properties of the system. We derive model‐independent bounds on some crucial time‐scales, such as the times of gate operation, decoherence, maximal entanglement and total scrambling. We show that for black hole type quantum computers all these time‐scales are of the order of the black hole half‐life time. Furthermore, we construct explicitly a set of Hamiltonians that generates a universal set of quantum gates for the black hole type computer. We find that the gates work at maximal energy efficiency. Furthermore, we establish a fundamental bound on the complexity of quantum circuits encoded on these systems, and characterize the unitary operations that are implementable. It becomes apparent that the computational power is very limited due to the fact that the black hole life‐time is of the same order of the gate operation time. As a consequence, it is impossible to retrieve its information, within the life‐time of a black hole, by externally coupling to the black hole qubits. However, we show that, in principle, coupling to some of the internal degrees of freedom allows acquiring knowledge about the micro‐state. Still, due to the trivial complexity of operations that can be performed, there is no time advantage over the collection of Hawking radiation and subsequent decoding.

There is much interest in resolving the quantum corrections to Bekenstein-Hawking entropy with a large length scale limit. The leading correction term is given by the logarithm of black hole area with a model-dependent coefficient. Recently the research for quantum gravity implies the emergence of a modification of theenergy-momentum dispersion relation (MDR), which plays an importantrole in the modified black hole thermodynamics. In this paper, we investigate the quantum corrections to Bekenstein-Hawking entropy in four-dimensional Schwarzschild black hole and Reissner-Nordström black hole respectively based on MDR.

The purpose of this paper is to discuss the Hawking radiation of vector particles from a quantum correction black hole by the mean of quantum tunneling. In order to achieve this purpose, based on the Proca field equation and WKB approximation, the quantum tunneling method is used to calculate the tunneling rate and Hawking temperature of the black hole. According to the analysis of the consequences, we find that the tunneling rate and Hawking temperature are related to the quantum parameter besides the horizon radius and mass of the black hole. Furthermore, when the results are compared with those of scalar particles and fermions of the black hole, no difference is found. Therefore, the tunneling rate and Hawing temperature of the black hole do not change with the type of radiation particles.

We revisit in detail the paradox of black hole information loss due to Hawking radiation as tunneling. We compute the amount of information encoded in correlations among Hawking radiations for a variety of black holes, including the Schwarzchild black hole, the Reissner–Nordström black hole, the Kerr black hole, and the Kerr–Newman black hole. The special case of tunneling through a quantum horizon is also considered. Within a phenomenological treatment based on the accepted emission probability spectrum from a black hole, we find that information is leaked out hidden in the correlations of Hawking radiation. The recovery of this previously unaccounted for information helps to conserve the total entropy of a system composed of a black hole plus its radiations. We thus conclude, irrespective of the microscopic picture for black hole collapsing, the associated radiation process: Hawking radiation as tunneling, is consistent with unitarity as required by quantum mechanics.

The two-dimensional black hole provides a theoretical laboratory in which the quantum nature of black holes may be probed without the complications of four-dimensional dynamics. It is therefore natural to ask, what have we learned from this model? Much recent work has focused on the semi-classical limit where the black hole is similar to the Schwarzschild solution. However, in this essay, we demonstrate that theexact two-dimensional quantum black hole is non-singular. Instead the singularity is replaced by a surface of time reflection symmetry in an extended space-time. The maximally extended space-time thus consists of an infinite sequence of asymptotically flat regions connected by timelike wormholes, rather analogous to the Reissner-Nordström space-time. The implications of this to the apparent loss of quantum information arising from black hole evaporation are also briefly discussed.

Using the quantum statistical method, the difficulty of solving the wave equation on the background of the black hole is avoided. We directly solve the partition functions of Bose and Fermi field on the background of an axisymmetric Kerr-Newman black hole using the new equation of state density motivated by the generalized uncertainty principle in the quantum gravity. Then near the black hole horizon, we calculate entropies of Bose and Fermi field between the black hole horizon surface and the hypersurface with the same inherent radiation temperature measured by an observer at an infinite distance. In our results there are not cutoffs and little mass approximation introduced in the conventional brick-wall method. The series expansion of the black hole entropy is obtained. And this series is convergent. It provides a way for studying the quantum statistical entropy of a black hole in a non-spherical symmetric spacetime.

In this study, the quantum gravity effect on the tunnelling radiation of charged massive spin-0 scalar particle from \(2+1\) dimensional charged rotating Banados–Teitelboim–Zanelli (BTZ) black hole is looked into by using the Hamilton–Jacobi approach. For this, we calculate the modified Hawking temperature of the black hole by using the modified Klein–Gordon equation based on the generalized uncertainty principle, and we noticed that the modified Hawking temperature of the black hole depends not only on the black hole properties, but also on the angular momentum, energy, charge and mass of the tunnelling scalar particle. Using the modified Hawking temperature, we discussed the stability of the black hole in the context of the modified heat capacity, and observed that it might undergo both first and 1 phase transitions in the presence of the quantum gravity effect, but just a first-type transition in the absence of the quantum gravity effect. Furthermore, we investigated the modified Hawking temperature of the black hole by using the tunnelling processes of the charged massive Dirac and vector boson particles. We observed that scalar, Dirac and vector particles are tunnelled from the black hole completely differently from each other in the presence of the quantum gravity effect.

In this work, we consider rotating BTZ black hole in three dimensions which is dual of one dimensional holographic superconductors. We applied higher order corrections of the entropy, which interpreted as quantum corrections, to the thermodynamics quantities and study modified thermodynamics. We investigate stability of rotating BTZ black hole under effects of higher order quantum corrections, and find that they affect stability of black hole. So, the small black hole has some instabilities and critical points due to the quantum effects. We also study effect of correction terms on the dual picture of rotating BTZ black hole.
