Sufficient conditions are derived for all bounded solutions of a class of scalar linear integrodifferential equations of arbitrary order to be either oscillatory or convergent to zero asymptotically. When the equations are suitably specialised to be delay-differential equations, our sufficient conditions also become necessary conditions for all bounded solutions of such equations to be oscillatory.  相似文献

In this paper, necessary corditions are obtained for an optimal control problem whose state variables are given in terms of integral equations. The conditions are obtained separately for Volterra equations and Fredholm equations. The main result for each case is the maximum principle and multiplier rule. Summary We consider extensible beam equations, Timoshenko beam equations and the system of coupled beam equations. We show that, under suitable conditions, there are bounded domains in which every solution satisfying certain end conditions has a zero. End conditions to be considered are hinged ends and hinged-sliding ends. The results are based on the conditions for the nonexistence of positive solutions of ordinary differential inequalities.  相似文献

The oscillatory and asymptotic behavior of first-order nonlinear delay impulsive differential equations and inequalities is studied. Some new sharp sufficient conditions for oscillation and nonoscillation of solutions of the equations and inequalities are obtained. Many known results are improved. In particular, the conditions are necessary and sufficient if the equations and inequalities are autonomous.  相似文献

We investigate the regularity at time t = 0 of the solutions of linear and semi-linear evolutions equations (including the Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations), Necessary and sufficient conditions on the data for an arbitrary order of regularity are given (the classical “compatibility conditions”). In the case of the Stokes and Navier-Stokes equations the compatibility conditions which we find are global conditions on the data. The presentation given here seems to improve and generalize the known results even in the simplest case of linear evolution equations.  相似文献

In this paper the Charpit system of partial differential equations with algebraic constraints is considered. So, first the compatibility conditions of a system of algebraic equations and also of the Charpit system of partial differential equations are separately considered. For the combined system of equations of both types sufficient conditions for the existence of a solution are found. They lead to an algorithm for reducing the combined system to a Charpit system of partial differential equations of dimension less than the initial system and without algebraic constraints. Moreover, it is proved that this system identically satisfies the compatibility conditions if so does the initial system.  相似文献

We consider a class of scalar linear differential equations with several variable delays and constant coefficients. A family of equations of the class is defined by coefficients and maximum admissible values of delays. We obtain conditions that are necessary and sufficient for the stability of solutions to all equations of the family. It is ascertained that the conditions are determined entirely by properties of the solution to the initial problem for an autonomous equation that belongs to the family. Some alternatives of required conditions are obtained in the form of estimates for solutions to autonomous equations in a finite interval.  相似文献

In this article, we use nonlinear slip conditions to investigate three fundamental flows. Constitutive equations of the third grade fluid give rise to nonlinear equations. Exact analytic solutions of the nonlinear equations with nonlinear boundary conditions are developed. Numerical values between the dimensionless third grade and slip parameters are tabulated. The study of functional differential equations with piecewise constant arguments usually results in a study of certain related difference equations. In this paper we consider certain neutral functional differential equations of this type and the associated difference equations. We give conditions under which such equations with almost periodic time dependence will have unique almost periodic solutions, and for certain autonomous cases, we obtain certain stability results and also conditions for chaotic behavior of solutions. We are particularly concerned with such equations which are partially discretized versions of non-forced Duffing equations.  相似文献

We study linear inhomogeneous vector ordinary differential equations of arbitrary order in which the matrix multiplying the highest derivative of the unknown vector function is singular in the domain where the equations are defined. We also study perturbations (not necessarily small) of such equations, which are linear integro-differential equations with a Volterra operator. We obtain sufficient conditions for the solvability of such equations and give representations of their general solutions; solvability and uniqueness conditions are also given for initial value problems for such equations. The influence of small perturbations of the free term and the initial data on the solution is considered. A numerical method is suggested. The results of numerical experiments are given.  相似文献

When symmetries of differential equations are applied, various types of associated systems of equations appear. Compatibility conditions of the associated systems expressed in the form of differential equations inherit Lie symmetries of the initial equations. Invariant solutions to compatibility systems are known as orbits of partially invariant and generic solutions involved in the Lie group foliation of differential equations and so on. In some cases Bäcklund transformations and differential substitutions connecting quotient equations for compatibility conditions and initial systems naturally arise. Besides, Ovsiannikov's orbit method for finding partially invariant solutions is essentially based on such symmetries.  相似文献

This paper concerns the well-posedness of the hydrodynamic model for semiconductor devices, a quasi-linear elliptic–parbolic–hyperbolic system. Boundary conditions for elliptic and parabolic equations are Dirichlet conditions while boundary conditions for the hyperbolic equations are assumed to be well-posed in L2 sense. Maximally strictly dissipative boundary conditions for the hyperbolic equations satisfy the assumption of well-posedness in L2 sense. The well-posedness of the model under the boundary conditions is demonstrated.  相似文献

In this paper we present some semismooth Newton methods for solving the semi-infinite programming problem. We first reformulate the equations and nonlinear complementarity conditions derived from the problem into a system of semismooth equations by using NCP functions. Under some conditions a solution of the system of semismooth equations is a solution of the problem. Then some semismooth Newton methods are proposed for solving this system of semismooth equations. These methods are globally and superlinearly convergent. Numerical results are also given.  相似文献
