This paper presents a Dual Directional Sheared Spatial Phase-Shift Digital Shearography (DDS-SPS-DS) system for simultaneous measurement of strains/displacement derivative in two directions. Two Michelson Interferometers are used as the shearing device to create two shearograms, one in the x-shearing direction and one in the y-shearing direction, which are recorded by a single CCD camera. Two lasers with different wavelengths are used for illumination, and corresponding band pass filters are applied in front of each Michelson Interferometer to avoid cross-interference between the two shearing direction channels. Two perpendicular shearing directions in the two measurement channels introduce two different spatial frequency carriers whose spectrums are orientated in different directions after Fourier Transform. Phase maps of the recorded two shearograms can be obtained by applying a windowed inverse Fourier transform, which enables simultaneous measurement of dual directional strains/displacement derivatives. The new system is well suited for nondestructive testing and strain measurement with a continuous or dynamic load. The capability of the dual directional spatial phase-shift digital shearography system is described by theoretical discussions as well as experiments.  相似文献

Cellular motion produces highly dynamic speckle in wide-field depth-gated holographic optical coherence imaging. The speckle provides cell scale information such as cell membrane and organelle motion, even though the spatial resolution of the optics is above the cell scale. The statistical properties of dynamic speckle can be used for functional imaging of motile activity at depth within tissue. In this paper we develop a motility metric using time autocorrelation to create a three-dimensional motility map of tissue. The effect of noise and the shimmering showerglass effect in functional optical coherence imaging are evaluated quantitatively, and we demonstrate that meaningful motility information can be extracted from functional imaging using dynamic speckle.  相似文献

This paper presents an optical method which is based on speckle-shearing interferometry for the measurement of the slope at any point of an object. The object under study is illuminated by an expanded laser beam and its image is recorded on a photographic plate placed at the image plane of an image-shearing camera. A second exposure on the photographic film is made after the light source is moved slightly. The resulting photograph yields a fringe pattern which represents lines of constant displacement gradients. Theory of the method as well as some experimental results are presented.  相似文献

The power of several coherent laser beams can be transferred into a single diffraction-limited signal beam by photorefractive coupling. The efficiency of the power transfer is investigated experimentally in the case of two pump beams. Two different geometrical arrangements, one with overlapping (simultaneous) and the other with separate (sequential) pump beams are compared in a BaTiO3:Ce crystal, with diffusion-driven photorefraction. We measured about the same power transfer efficiency in both arrangements for strong signal beams, but the efficiency was higher in the sequential arrangement for weak signals. A simple theoretical model of the power transfer process based on the standard linear two-wave-mixing theory is presented and the observed stationary beam-coupling behavior for different pump-to-signal intensity ratios is found to be in qualitative agreement with the theoretical predictions. Curvature measurement using a three-aperture digital shearography (DS) system is reported in this paper. The outer apertures are covered with wedge plates for introducing shear. Four images by sequentially blocking the outer apertures are used for quantitative measurement. Fourier transform technique is used to determine two sheared slope phase maps from two images at a time representing initial and deformed states. Subtraction of these two-phase maps yields the curvature phase map. Experimental results are presented for a circular diaphragm clamped along the edges and loaded at the center.  相似文献

This work proposes to obtain surface contouring by phase-shifting real-time holography using photorefractive sillenite crystals which provides the surface contouring from a change in phase of wavefront of the object illumination beam. The real-time holography using the photorefractive Bi12SiO20 crystal and the four-frame phase-shifting technique was used to obtain the phase map, this map was filtered by an anisotropic sin/cos filter and the unwrapping process used was the cellular-automata technique. We obtained experimental results of the surfaces of the large objects with real discontinuities, and these results agree with the dimensions of the object.  相似文献

A suspended multicore fiber sensor for simultaneous measurement of curvature and strain is proposed. The spectral response shows evidences of several interferences arising from the seven cores of the fiber. Once the sensing head presents different sensitivities for curvature and strain measurements, these physical parameters can be discriminated by using the matrix method. The rms deviations are ±19 m(-1) and ±12.90 με for curvature and strain measurements, respectively.  相似文献

We introduce a nonscanning, time-domain sensitive phase measurement of Raman-active vibrations. Coherent vibrations are set up by impulsive stimulated Raman scattering and probed by spectral interferometry using a time-delayed pair of probe and reference pulses. The probe-reference pair is chirped, and the instantaneous frequency sweep maps spectral phase encoded in the pulses to the time-domain vibrational motion, allowing measurements to be made without a time-consuming pump-probe delay scan.  相似文献

The first holographic measurements are reported of the force between macroscopic objects mediated by zero-point electromagnetic fluctuations (Casimir force). A holographic interferometer is used to measure mirror oscillations with an amplitude of 1 pm. The objects under study are two thin metal films deposited on dielectric substrates. When one film is periodically oscillated, the first and second harmonics of the Casimir force acting on the other are detected. For the first time, an order-of-magnitude estimate is obtained for the Casimir force by using radiation pressure as a natural reference scale. The discrepancy between calculated and measured values of the Casimir force may be attributed to the small thickness and low conductivity of the metal films.  相似文献

A method of determining the second-order derivatives of displacement using digital shearing speckle interferometry is presented in this paper. A phase-shifting technique is incorporated and demonstrated to yield good quality fringe patterns that depict either the second-order derivative separately or a combination of first- and second-order derivatives. The optical set-up of this method is similar to that of conventional phase-shifting shearography, thus enjoying a simple and practical configuration. Qualitative comparison shows acceptable agreement of the generated fringe patterns with theoretical results.  相似文献

We propose a generalized framework for single-shot acquisition of multidimensional objects using compressive Fresnel holography. A multidimensional object with spatial, spectral, and polarimetric information is propagated with the Fresnel diffraction, and the propagated signal of each channel is observed by an image sensor with randomly arranged optical elements for filtering. The object data are reconstructed using a compressive sensing algorithm. This scheme is verified with numerical experiments. The proposed framework can be applied to imageries for spectrum, polarization, and so on.  相似文献

In offshore oil and gas exploration, visual inspection and measurement often has to be carried out under conditions of poor visibility and at great depths. Recording a hologram of an underwater scene with its subsequent replay in the laboratory could provide enormous benefits to the inspection engineer. When replayed in the real image mode, dimensional measurement may be performed directly on the image formed in real space using, for example, measuring microscopy or TV cameras. Potential applications include general archiving, measurement of corrosion pitting and cracking, examination and measurement of damage sites, structural profiling and examination of marine growth. In this paper, we outline the general concepts of underwater holography. A résumé is given of the work undertaken in the past, the problems experienced and their solution and an indication of our general direction leading to the establishment of holography as a unique method of subsea inspection.  相似文献

The differential modulation of the attenuation bands in a long-period grating is used for simultaneous sensing of axial strain and temperature. A grating fabricated in a conventional optical fiber is demonstrated for concurrent measurements of strain over a range of 2100 micro? and temperature over a range of 125 degrees C, with maximum errors of 58 micro? and 1 degrees C, respectively.  相似文献

We present the principle and experimental demonstration of time resolved quantum state holography. The quantum state of an excited state interacting with an ultrashort chirped laser pulse is measured during this interaction. This has been obtained by manipulating coherent transients created by the interaction of femtosecond shaped pulses and rubidium atoms.  相似文献

In this paper, an optical surface curvature measurement technique based on digital holography is proposed. Unlike the previous digital holographic methods, which only involve a small part of the measured data for parameter estimation, the proposed method adopts more of them using least square method. Hence, the analyzed result is not affected by data extraction direction and less sensitive to imperfect phase compensation. The proposed method is demonstrated with a sample of reflection mirror in laser resonator, and verified by comparing the measurement result with that of the white light interferometer.  相似文献

An important material property in the paper industry is the anisotropic stiffness distribution due to the fibrous microstructure of paper and to processing procedures. Ultrasonic methods offer a means of determining the stiffness of sheets of paper from the anisotropic propagation characteristics of elastic Lamb waves along the machine direction and the cross direction. That is, along and perpendicular to the direction of paper production. Currently, piezoelectric ultrasonic methods are employed in the industry to measure the elastic polar diagram of paper through multiple contacting measurements made in all directions. This paper describes a new approach utilizing the INEEL Laser Ultrasonic Camera to provide a complete image of the elastic waves traveling in all directions in the plane of the paper sheet. This approach is based on optical dynamic holographic methods that record the out of plane ultrasonic motion over the entire paper surface simultaneously without scanning. The full-field imaging technique offers great potential for increasing the speed of the measurement and it ultimately provides a substantial amount of information concerning local property variations and flaws in the paper. This report shows the success of the method and the manner in which it yields the elastic polar diagram for the paper from the dispersive flexural or antisymmetric Lamb wave.  相似文献

An all-fiber Mach–Zehnder interferometer (MZI) consisting of a long-period fiber grating with a micro-taper is proposed for simultaneous measurement of temperature and strain. The experimental results demonstrate that the temperature and strain sensitivities of the proposed MZI are 83 pm/°C and ?2.6 pm/με, respectively. The strain sensitivity is 20 times as high as that of a long-period fiber written by CO2 laser pulses combined with a fiber bitaper. In addition, the interferometer requires only a common single-mode fiber, and it is easy to fabricate and is inexpensive for temperature and strain sensing applications.  相似文献
