It is shown that in treating bond distortions in pentalene and large annulenes in the framework of the Molecular Orbital Resonance Theory (MORT) [1], the variation of the resonance integral with bond length and the -bond compression energy should be taken into account. The charge polarization to which the bond disrtortion in pentalene is entirely attributed by ivkovi [1] is of minor importance.  相似文献

Molar excess volumes of mixing for the binary mixtures of furan with benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, o-, m-, and p-xylenes have been calculated from the precise experimental density data at 25°C over the entire composition range. The results have been discussed in terms of molecular interactions and geometric effects in the binary mixtures.  相似文献

Summary Methyl 3-benzoylthio-5-O-tert-butyldiphenylsilyl-2,3-dideoxy--D-erythro-pentofuranoside (4) and its corresponding anomer5 were synthesized in four steps from 2-deoxy-D-ribose and used as substrates for the synthesis of nucleosides by condensation with silylated thymidine and N6-isobutyryladenine. The nucleosides were deprotected by treatment with Bu4NF inTHF followed by reaction with MeONa in MeOH to give 3-deoxy-3-mercaptothymidine (8), 2,3-dideoxy-3-mercaptoadenosine (15) and its corresponding anomer16. In the latter reactions it was important to use degassed solvents to minimize formation of the corresponding disulfides of purine nucleosides. Using Bu4NF, without subsequent reaction with MeONa in the deprotection reaction, resulted in intermolecular transesterification reactions.On leave from Chemistry Department, Faculties of Science and Education, Tanta University, Tanta, Egypt  相似文献

Energies and oscillator strengths of the long-wave electronic transitions for several conformers of allyl- and vinylamine and allyl- and vinylphosphine have been calculated by the semiempirical quantum-chemical MNDO method. The electronic structure of these molecules is discussed in detail, and the spectral and conformational effects ofn, and , conjugation are analyzed. Summary A type of graphs derived from a cycle and associated with primitive coronoids are referred to as crowns. The characteristic polynomials and matching polynomials of crowns are studied. These notions are used to calculate the sextet polynomial for primitive coronoids. Patterns of aromatic sextets are treated in some detail.

Zusammenfassung Eine Graphentype, die von einem Cyclus abgeleitet ist und mit einfachen Coronoiden verknüpft ist, wird als Crown bezeichnet. Die charakteristischen Polynome und die matching Polynome der Crowns werden untersucht. In diesem Rahmen werden die Sextett-Polynome für einfache Coronoide berechnet. Die Muster der aromatischen Sextette werden im Detail behandelt.

The analysis of the experimental data for the energy of the longest wavelength optical transitions n,opt of substituted polymethines X (CH)2n+1 X shows that in the asymptotic case (n) ,opt does not tend to zero, as it follows from the empirically established correlations, but has a finite, non-zero value. It is shown that the energy gap of odd polymethines is the same as that of the even polymethines - the polyenes (E 2 eV). The substituents (X N, O, B) are responsible for the appearance of levels in the gap. These, depending on the substituent character, are vacant (X B) or occupied (X N, O). The transition from or to such a level determines the longest wavelength optical transition energy of polymethines.  相似文献

The Stockmayer-Fixman-Burchard (SFB) and the Dondos-Benoit (DB) equations have been applied to determine the unperturbed dimensions parameterK of wormlike polymers. An empirical relation between the Flory's constant and the Mark-Houwink-Sakurada (MHS) exponenta has been proposed. The values found by this equation are lower than the value 2.5×1023 used in the case of flexible polymers and this deviation is attributed to the influence of the draining effect. From theK value and the so calculated value of , we calculate the Kuhn statistical segment length of wormlike polymers. The obtained — for a great number of wormlike polymers — statistical segment lengths are almost the same as these calculated by the Yamakawa-Fujii and the Bohdanecky methods. The molecular mass regions in which the SFB, the DB, and the MHS equations are valid are explored. A criterion for the distinction between flexible and wormlike polymers is proposed based on the way of approach to the power law.  相似文献

This paper presents investigations of phase and structural transitions occurring in water adsorbed on the surface of bovine serum albumin (BSA) and on the so-called intelligentrs or smart silica gel surface covered with a chemically bonded BSA phase. Cyclic changes of heat flow (HF) were observed in the samples studied during cooling and heating of the measuring cell of the differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) apparatus. These cyclic changes reflect structural transitions occurring in the water adsorbed on the surface at subambient and elevated temperatures. This is connected with cyclic changes (decay and reproduction) of ice-like structures existing in the adsorbed water layers. On the basis of quantitative investigations it appears that, depending on the direction of the cooling or heating process of the samples studied, the number of ice-like water structures in the surface film increases or decreases. It has been stated that the observed fluctuations occur spontaneously and suddenly in the whole volume of adsorbed water in different and not regular temperature ranges, especially at the paradoxical effect temperatures.Support from the Research Council (Dr. R. The two hydroxyls of yuccagenin can be glycosylated by Koenigs-Knorr condensation with acetobromorhammose in dichloroethane in the presence of mercuric cyanide. A diagrammatic technique was developed for the estimation of the screened potential of -electron systems. The screened potential was expanded in terms of the polarization propagators which were constructed from either the singlet, , or triplet vertex part, . These vertex parts correspond to the singlet or triplet excitations, respectively, in the Random Phase Approximation (RPA) containing exchange diagrams. The excitation energies were calculated by using the screened potential in the framework of RPA with exchange. The excitation energies of several conjugated molecules with or without a hetero atom are in agreement with the experimental data.  相似文献

The potential energy curves of some low lying electronic states of the diatomic radicals BeCl and MgF have been calculated. The calculation has been performed according to a stepwise procedure, outlined in a previous work. The potential energy curves are very similar to those of the mercury halide radicals, the electronic transitions of which can be employed for efficient laser apparatus.  相似文献

The kinetics of thermal imidization of the H-complexes derived from the diethyl ester of 3,3,4,4-benzophenonetetracarboxylic acid (EBZP) and various diamines have been studied. The preparation of spinnable sols has been developed to obtain a new type of sol-gel derived pure alumina fiber. The starting material was aluminum sec-butoxide, which was modified in a first step with glycolether, e.g., isopropoxyethanol. This leads to a partial replacement of alkoxy groups via alcoholysis and a change of the precursor structure from a trimeric to a tetrameric one. In the second step, carboxylation, the transformation to six-coordinated aluminum could be observed. Due to the formation of a sol with Newtonian flow behavior after hydrolysis, gel fibers up to several kilometers long could be drawn directly from the clear colorless sol with spinning velocities up to 200 m/min. The addition of an organic filament-forming polymer is not necessary. The sol is spinnable for periods up to one year. The transformation of the gel fiber to -Al2O3 occurs at 1150° C.  相似文献

It has been shown by the CNDO method that the bathochromic shift of the long-wave absorption band in the transition from allylstannane to compounds of the type C=C-C-Sn-X and C=C-Sn-X (where X is a heavy atom) is connected with the formation of a low-energy vacant *S-X orbital, localized mainly in the region of the Sn-X chemical bond, and of an occupied Sn-X orbital, the energy of which is somewhat higher than of the C-Sn orbital. The dependence of the position of the long-wave absorbance region on conformation is related to the fact that, in planar and nonplanar conformers, the long-wave transitions are of a different type ( * and *, respectively); the bathochromic shift is determined to a large degree by the difference in the energies of the highest occupied MO ( - ) in the s-trans form. In the nonplanar conformers the heavy atom orbitals interact with the -orbital of the ethylene moiety through the bridge group; this leads to a significant delocalization of the HOMO and to a considerable change in its energy. On the other hand, their interaction with the *-orbital in compounds of the C=C-C-Sn-X type is very low and does not favor the delocalization of lower vacant MO. In vinyldistannane the *-orbital is noticeably delocalized, due to the interaction with the *Sn-Sn orbital in planar and with the *Sn-Sn orbital in nonplanar conformers.N. D.
