The echo-enabled harmonic generation(EEHG)scheme offers remarkable efficiency for generatinghigh harmonic microbunching with a relatively small energy modulation.A proof of principle experiment of the EEHG scheme has been proposed at the Shanghai deep ultraviolet(SDUV)free electron laser(FEL)facility,where the 4th harmonic of the seed laser is amplified in the 9 m long radiator.To explore the advantages of the EEHG scheme,in this paper,a method of measuring the coherent high harmonic radiation of the radiator is proposed to investigate the electron beam microbunching corresponding to the 10th-20th harmonics of the seed laser.The principle of the proposed method,comparisons with existing methods and the simulation results are presented and discussed.  相似文献

In high gain harmonic generation (HGHG) free electron laser (FEL), with the right choice of parameters of the modulator undulator, the dispersive section and the seed laser, one may make the spatial bunching of the electron beam density distribution correspond to one of the harmonic frequencies of the radiator radiation, instead of the fundamental frequency of the radiator radiation in conventional HGHG, thus the radiator undulator is in harmonic operation (HO) mode. In this paper, we investigate HO of HGHG FEL. Theoretical analyses with universal method are derived and numerical simulations in ultraviolet and deep ultraviolet spectral regions are given. It shows that the power of the 3rd harmonic radiation in the HO of HGHG may be as high as 18.5% of the fundamental power level. Thus HO of HGHG FEL may obtain short wavelength by using lower beam energy.  相似文献

An easy-to-implement scheme called Enhanced High Gain Harmonic Generation is expected to be able to significantly enhance the performance of HG-FEL. In this paper we investigate the effects of the system parameters in the new scheme, including the electron energy detuning, initial electron-beam energy spread, seeding laser power, dispersive field strength and amount of the phase shift, etc. The numerical results from GENESIS (3D-code) are presented and show that the new scheme has acceptable parameters tolerance requirements and is no more or even less sensitive to the system parameters than that of the existing scheme; With the electron energy above the resonance, the efficiency is enhanced for both the new scheme and the existing scheme compared with the resonant energy case.  相似文献

Using nonperturbative quantum electrodynamics, we develop a scattering theory for high harmonic generation (HHG). A transition rate formula for HHG is obtained. Applying this formula, we calculate the spectra of high harmonics generated from different noble gases shined by strong laser light. We study the cutoff property of the spectra. The data show that the cutoff orders of high harmonics are greater than that predicted by the “3.17” cutoff law. As a numerical experiment, the data obtained from our repeated calculations support the newly derived theoretical expression of the cutoff law. The cutoff energy of high harmonics described by the new cutoff law, in terms of the ponderomotive energy Up and the ionization potential energy Ip, is 3.34Up+ 1.83Ip. The higher cutoff orders predicted by this theory are due to the absorption of the extra photons, which participate only the photon-mode up-conversion and do nothing in the photoionization process.  相似文献

By introducing an invariant operator, we obtain exact wave functions for a general time-dependent quadratic harmonic oscillator. The coherent states, both inx- andp-spaces, are calculated. We confirm that the uncertainty product in coherent state is always larger thankh/2 and is equal to the minimum of the uncertainty product of the number states. The displaced wave packet for Caldirola-Kanai oscillator in coherent state oscillates back and forth with time about the center as for a classical oscillator. The amplitude of oscillation with no driving force decreases due to the dissipation in the system. However, the oscillation with resonant frequency oscillates with a large amplitude, even after a sufficient time elapse.  相似文献

 在超强脉冲激光与固体靶相互作用中,利用光学CCD相机和光学多道分析仪,分别在固体薄膜靶背表面法线方向测量了渡越辐射(TR)积分成像图案和光谱。测量结果显示:TR空间分布图案呈圆环状,而辐射区域有发散角和光强分布;TR光谱在800 nm附近出现尖峰,是激光的基频波,这一现象归因于超热电子束在输运的过程中产生的微束团而引起的相干渡越辐射;如果考虑超热电子的产生和加热机制,共振吸收和真空加热对超热电子都有贡献,其中占主导地位的加热机制则是共振吸收对电子的加热。  相似文献

首次实现直流磁体W波段二次谐波回旋管连续波稳定运行。回旋管工作时所需1.8 T磁场由一个水冷直流线圈产生。直流线圈励磁电流为500 A,功耗28 kW,内孔直径66 mm,可直接将回旋管插入内孔中。回旋管内电子束由双阳极磁控注入电子枪产生。采用高效率内置准光模式变换器实现束波分离并输出准高斯波束。研制的回旋管工作频率为94.08 GHz,腔内工作模式为TE02。实验中成功实现5 min连续稳定运行,输出功率达到12 kW。电子束电压为45 kV,电流1.7 A,对应的输出效率15.7 %。  相似文献

利用不同加热机制产生的超热电子所导致的相干渡越辐射(CTR)在谐波分量强度比上的不同,给出了区分飞秒激光等离子体相互作用产生超热电子过程中的主要与次要加热机制的一种可能方法.得到了加热周期不同的加热机制所产生超热电子的比例与CTR谐波分量的二倍频和一倍频的强度比之间的具体关系式.如果在实验上测到此谐波分量强度比,就可以推出不同加热机制在加热过程中所起作用的大致比例关系.另外,CTR谐波分量的强度比还与超热电子的温度、实验上所使用靶的厚度有一定依赖关系,对此作了较为详细的讨论. 关键词: 相干渡越辐射 超热电子 加热机制  相似文献
