The isolation and structural characterization of [(terpy)Mn(III)(N3)3], complex 1, is reported (terpy = 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine). Complex 1, a product of the reaction between the mixed-valence dimer [(terpy)(H2O)Mn(III)(O)2Mn(IV)(OH2)(terpy)](NO3)3 and NaN3, crystallizes in a triclinic system, space group P1, a = 8.480(1) A, b = 8.9007(2) A, c = 12.109(2) A, alpha = 93.79(1) degrees, beta = 103.17(1) degrees, gamma = 103.11(1) degrees, and Z = 2. Complex 1 exhibits a Jahn-Teller distortion of the octahedron characteristic of a six-coordinated high-spin Mn(III). A vibrational spectroscopic study was performed. The nu(asym)(N3) mode of complex 1 appears in the IR as a strong band at 2035 cm(-1) with a less intense feature at 2072 cm(-1), and in the FT-Raman as a strong band at 2071 cm(-1) with a weaker broad band at 2046 cm(-1). The electronic properties of complex 1 were investigated using a high-field and high-frequency EPR study (190-475 GHz). The different spin Hamiltonian parameters have been determined (D = -3.29 (+/-0.01) cm(-1), E = 0.48 (+/-0.01) cm(-1), E '= 0.53 (+/-0.01) cm(-1), g(x) = 2.00 (+/-0.005), g(y) = 1.98 (+/-0.005), g(z) = 2.01 (+/-0.005)). These parameters are in agreement with the geometry of complex 1 observed in the crystal structure, a D < 0 related to the elongated distortion, and a value of E/D close to 0.2 as expected from the highly distorted octahedron. The two values of the E-parameter are explained by the presence of two slightly different structural forms of complex 1 in the crystal lattice. A second hypothesis was explored to explain the experimental data. The calculation for the simulation was done taking into account that the g and D tensors are not collinear due to the low symmetry of complex 1. In that case, the spin Hamiltonian parameters found are D = -3.29 (+/-0.01) cm(-1), E = 0.51 (+/-0.01) cm(-1), g(x) = 2.00 (+/-0.005), g(y) = 1.98 (+/-0.005), and g(z) = 2.01 (+/-0.005).  相似文献

Hybridization of [(OH(2))(terpy)Mn(mu-O)(2)Mn(terpy)(OH(2))](3+) (terpy= 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine) (1) and mica clay yielded catalytic dioxygen (O(2)) evolution from water using a CeIV oxidant. The reaction was characterized by various spectroscopic measurements and a kinetic analysis of O(2) evolution. X-ray diffraction (XRD) data indicates the interlayer separation of mica changes upon intercalation of 1. The UV-vis diffuse reflectance (RD) and Mn K-edge X-ray absorption near-edge structure (XANES) data suggest that the oxidation state of the di-mu-oxo Mn(2) core is Mn(III)-Mn(IV), but it is not intact. In aqueous solution, the reaction of 1 with a large excess Ce(IV) oxidant led to decomposition of 1 to form MnO(4-) ion without O(2) evolution, most possibly by its disproportionation. However, MnO(4-) formation is suppressed by adsorption of 1 on clay. The maximum turnover number for O(2) evolution catalyzed by 1 adsorbed on mica and kaolin was 15 and 17, respectively, under the optimum conditions. The catalysis occurs in the interlayer space of mica or on the surface of kaolin, whereas MnO(4-) formation occurs in the liquid phase, involving local adsorption equilibria of adsorbed 1 at the interface between the clay surface and the liquid phase. The analysis of O(2) evolution activity showed that the catalysis requires cooperation of two equivalents of 1 adsorbed on clay. The second-order rate constant based on the concentration (mol g(-1)) of 1 per unit weight of clay was 2.7 +/- 0.1 mol(-1) s(-1) g for mica, which is appreciably lower than that for kaolin (23.9 +/- 0.4 mol(-1) s(-1) g). This difference can be explained by the localized adsorption of 1 on the surface for kaolin. However, the apparent turnover frequency ((kO(2))app/s(-1)) of 1 on mica was 2.2 times greater than on kaolin when the same fractional loading is compared. The higher cation exchange capacity (CEC) of mica statistically affords a shorter distance between the anionic sites to which 1 is attracted electrostatically, making the cooperative interaction between adsorbed molecules of 1 easier than that on kaolin. The higher CEC is important not only for attaining a higher loading but also for the higher catalytic activity of adsorbed 1.  相似文献

The trinuclear manganese complex [Mn(3)O(4)(phen)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](NO(3))(4).2.5H(2)O, 1 (where, phen = 1,10-phenanthroline), has been synthesized by the Ce(IV) oxidation of a concentrated solution of manganese(II) acetate and phen in 1.6 N nitric acid. The complex crystallizes in the triclinic space group P&onemacr; with a = 10.700(2) ?, b = 12.643(3) ?, c = 20.509(4) ?, alpha = 78.37(3) degrees, beta = 83.12(3) degrees, gamma = 82.50(3) degrees, and Z = 2. The structure was solved by direct methods and refined by least-squares techniques to the conventional R (R(w)) factors of 0.055 (0.076) based on 4609 unique reflections with F(o) >/= 6.0sigma(F(o)). The structure of the cation consists of an oxo-bridged Mn(3)O(4)(4+) core, with the geometry of the manganese atoms being octahedral. The coordination polyhedron of one of the manganese atoms (Mn(1)) consists of two &mgr; oxo ligands and two pairs of nitrogen atoms of two phen moieties, whereas that of each of the remaining two manganese atoms consists of three &mgr;-oxo ligands, two nitrogen atoms of a phen moiety, and the oxygen atom of a water molecule. The complex represents the second example for water coordination to manganese(IV) centers in complexes with a Mn(3)O(4)(4+) core. Optical spectra in ligand buffer (pH 4.5) reveal complete conversion of the complex into a Mn(III)Mn(IV) species. The observed room-temperature (298 K) magnetic moment of 3.75 &mgr;(B) indicates the presence of strong antiferromagnetic coupling in the complex.  相似文献

Water oxidation to evolve O2 in photosynthesis is catalyzed by an enzyme whose active site contains a mu-oxo-bridged manganese core. Catalytic O2 evolution has been difficult to establish by manganese-oxo complexes in homogeneous aqueous solutions. The reaction of [(OH2)(terpy)MnIII(mu-O)2MnIV(terpy)(OH2)]3+ (terpy = 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine) (1) with a CeIV oxidant leads to the decomposition of 1 to the permanganate ion without O2 evolution in an aqueous solution but catalytically produces O2 from water when 1 is adsorbed on clay compounds. 18O-labeling experiments showed that the oxygen atoms in O2 originate exclusively from water. Catalysis of O2 evolution requires cooperation of 2 equiv of 1 adsorbed on clay compounds.  相似文献

Two new copper(II) compounds of chloranilate and 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine have been synthesized, and the structures have been solved by the single-crystal X-ray diffraction method. The crystal structure of [[Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)][Cu(CA)(2)]](n)(1), where H(2)CA = chloranilic acid and terpy = 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine, consists of two modules, the dimer unit [Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)](2+) and the anionic mononuclear unit [Cu(CA)(2)](2)(-), forming an alternated chain. The chain is stabilized by semicoordinating and additional but efficient secondary bonding interactions. The crystal structure of [[Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)(dmso)(2)][Cu(CA)(2)(dmso)(2)](EtOH)](n)(2), where dmso = dimethyl sulfoxide, consists of solvent molecules and two discrete modules, the dimer unit [Cu(2)(CA)(terpy)(2)(dmso)(2)](2+) and the anionic mononuclear unit [Cu(CA)(2)(dmso)(2)](2)(-). The dimer units form a layer by secondary bonding interactions, and the monomer units and ethanol molecules are introduced between the layers. The magnetic properties of 1 and 2 have been investigated in the temperature range 2.0-300 K. A weak ferromagnetic interaction was observed in 1, J(a) = 2.36 cm(-)(1) and zJ(b) = -0.68 cm(-)(1) while no exchange coupling was observed in 2.  相似文献

Colourless single crystals of [Hg(OH)](NO3)(H2O) were obtained by slow evaporation of an aqueous solution of Hg(NO3)2 and Bi(NO3)3. The crystal structure (orthorhombic, Pbca, Z = 8, a = 943.2(2), b = 697.6(1), c = 1349.0(2) pm, R1(all) = 0.0780) contains [Hg(OH)] = …OH–Hg–OH–Hg… zig zag chains (O–Hg–O angle: 168°, Hg–O–Hg angle: 112°, Hg–OH distance: 212 pm) to which one water molecule is attached loosely. The [Hg(OH)](H2O) chains are connected via bis‐monodentate‐bridging nitrate ions to corrugated layers that are stacked in the [001] direction. Hg2+ has an effective 2+2+2(+1) coordination.  相似文献

Two isostructural mixed-valence vanadium phosphonoacetates H2(DABCO)[V(IV)O(H2O)V(III)(OH)(O3PCH2CO2)2].2.5H2O (1) and H2(PIP)[V(IV)O(H2O)V(III)(OH)(O3PCH2CO2)2].2.5H2O (2) have been synthesized. They crystallize in the orthorhombic space group Pnna with a = 7.0479(10) A, b = 15.307(2) A, and c = 17.537(3) A for 1 and a = 7.0465(9) A, b = 15.646(2) A, and c = 17.396(2) A for 2. X-ray single-crystal diffraction reveals that 1 and 2 have a three-dimensional open framework featuring 16-ring ellipsoid channels that are filled with doubly protonated 1,4-diazabicyclo[2,2,2]octanium/piperazinium cations and water molecules. According to the classification in metal-organic frameworks, 1 and 2 contain infinite (-O-V-)(infinity) chains that are cross-linked by "metalloligand" [VO(H2O)(O3PCH2CO2)2](4-) into a 3-D net of the sra topology. The temperature dependence of the magnetic susceptibility of 1 shows that the chi(m)T value in the range of 60-320 K is constant of 1.105 cm3 K mol(-1)/V2 unit, and upon further cooling, the chi(m)T value rapidly increases to 1.81 cm3 K mol(-1) at 2 K. The corresponding effective magnetic moment (mu(eff))/V2 unit varies from 2.97 mu(B) at 320 K to 3.80 mu(B) at 2 K. The magnetic data in the range of 2-320 K follow the Curie-Weiss law with C = 1.074 cm3 K mol(-1) and Theta= -1.34 K.  相似文献

N-(2-Pyridylmethyl)pyridine-2-methylketimine (L1) was synthesized from equimolar quantities of (2-pyridyl)methylamine and 2-acetylpyridine. Methanolic solution of L1 reacted readily with Cu(NO3)2.3H2O in air, affording green solid of composition {[Cu(L2)(OH)(NO3)][Cu(L2)(NO3)2]}.2H2O, where L2 is 4'-(2-pyridyl)-2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine. Oxidation of the active methylene group of L1 to an imide and then condensation with 2-acetylpyridine involving a C-C bond-forming reaction, mediated by a Cu2+ ion, are the essential steps involved in the conversion of L1 to L2. L2 is isolated by extrusion of Cu2+ with EDTA(2-). The copper center in [Cu(L2)(OH)(NO3)] has a mer-N3O3 environment, and that in [Cu(L2)(NO3)2] has a distorted trigonal-bipyramidal geometry. Two H2O molecules held by C-H...O interactions are present in the predominantly hydrophobic channels of approximate cavity dimension 7.60 x 6.50 A created by aromatic rings through pi-pi interactions.  相似文献

New synthesis procedures are described to tetranuclear manganese carboxylate complexes containing the [Mn(4)O(2)](8+) or [Mn(4)O(3)X](6+) (X(-) = MeCO(2)(-), F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), NO(3)(-)) core. These involve acidolysis reactions of [Mn(4)O(3)(O(2)CMe)(4)(dbm)(3)] (1; dbm is the anion of dibenzoylmethane) or [Mn(4)O(2)(O(2)CEt)(6)(dbm)(2)] (8) with HX (X(-) = F(-), Cl(-), Br(-), NO(3)(-)); high-yield routes to 1 and 8 are also described. The X(-) = NO(3)(-) complexes [Mn(4)O(3)(NO(3))(O(2)CR)(3)(R'(2)dbm)(3)] (R = Me, R' = H (6); R = Me, R' = Et (7); R = Et, R' = H (12)) represent the first synthesis of the [Mn(4)O(3)(NO(3))](6+) core, which contains an unusual eta(1):mu(3)-NO(3)(-) group. Treatment of known [Mn(4)O(2)(O(2)CEt)(7)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4)) with HNO(3) gives [Mn(4)O(2)(NO(3))(O(2)CEt)(6)(bpy)(2)](ClO(4)) (15) containing a eta(1):eta(1):mu-NO(3)(-) group bridging the two body Mn(III) ions of the [Mn(4)O(2)](8+) butterfly core. Complex 7 x 4CH(2)Cl(2) crystallizes in space group P2(1)2(1)2(1) with (at -168 degrees C) a = 21.110(3) A, b = 22.183(3) A, c = 15.958(2) A, Z = 4, and V = 7472.4(3) A(3). Complex 15 x (3)/(2)CH(2)Cl(2) crystallizes in space group P2(1)/c with (at -165 degrees C) a = 26.025(4) A, b = 13.488(2) A, c = 32.102(6) A, beta = 97.27(1) degrees, Z = 8, and V = 11178(5) A(3). Complex 7 contains a [Mn(4)(mu(3)-O)(3)(mu(3)-NO(3))](6+) core (3Mn(III), Mn(IV)) as seen for previous [Mn(4)O(3)X](6+) complexes. Complex 15 contains a butterfly [Mn(4)(mu(3)-O)(2)](8+) core. (1)H NMR spectra have been recorded for all complexes reported in this work and the various resonances assigned. All complexes retain their structural integrity on dissolution in chloroform and dichloromethane. Magnetic susceptibility (chi(M)) data were collected on 12 in the 5-300 K range in a 10.0 kG (1 T) field. Fitting of the data to the theoretical chi(M) vs T expression appropriate for a [Mn(4)O(3)X](6+) complex of C(3)(v)() symmetry gave J(34) = -23.9 cm(-)(1), J(33) = 4.9 cm(-)(1), and g = 1.98, where J(34) and J(33) refer to the Mn(III)Mn(IV) and Mn(III)Mn(III) pairwise exchange interactions, respectively. The ground state of the molecule is S = 9/2, as found previously for other [Mn(4)O(3)X](6+) complexes. This was confirmed by magnetization data collected at various fields and temperatures. Fitting of the data gave S = 9/2, D = -0.45 cm(-1), and g = 1.96, where D is the axial zero-field splitting parameter.  相似文献

Ruthenium-terpyridine complexes incorporating a 2,2'-dipyridylamine ancillary ligand [Ru(II)(trpy)(L)(X)](ClO(4))(n) [trpy = 2,2':6',2' '-terpyridine; L = 2,2'-dipyridylamine; and X = Cl(-), n = 1 (1); X = H(2)O, n = 2 (2); X = NO(2)(-), n = 1 (3); X = NO(+), n = 3 (4)] were synthesized in a stepwise manner starting from Ru(III)(trpy)(Cl)(3). The single-crystal X-ray structures of all of the four members (1-4) were determined. The Ru(III)/Ru(II) couple of 1 and 3 appeared at 0.64 and 0.88 V versus the saturated calomel electrode in acetonitrile. The aqua complex 2 exhibited a metal-based couple at 0.48 V in water, and the potential increased linearly with the decrease in pH. The electron-proton content of the redox process over the pH range of 6.8-1.0 was calculated to be a 2e(-)/1H(+) process. However, the chemical oxidation of 2 by an aq Ce(IV) solution in 1 N H(2)SO(4) led to the direct formation of corresponding oxo species [Ru(IV)(trpy)(L)(O)](2+) via the concerted 2e(-)/2H(+) oxidation process. The two successive reductions of the coordinated nitrosyl function of 4 appeared at +0.34 and -0.34 V corresponding to Ru(II)-NO(+) --> Ru(II)-NO* and Ru(II)-NO* --> Ru(II)-NO(-), respectively. The one-electron-reduced Ru(II)-NO* species exhibited a free-radical electron paramagnetic resonance signal at g = 1.990 with nitrogen hyperfine structures at 77 K. The NO stretching frequency of 4 (1945 cm(-1)) was shifted to 1830 cm(-1) in the case of [Ru(II)(trpy)(L)(NO*)](2+). In aqueous solution, the nitrosyl complex 4 slowly transformed to the nitro derivative 3 with the pseudo-first-order rate constant of k(298)/s(-1) = 1.7 x 10(-4). The chloro complex 1 exhibited a dual luminescence at 650 and 715 nm with excited-state lifetimes of 6 and 1 micros, respectively.  相似文献

To examine the real ability of the binuclear di-mu-oxo complex [Mn2(III,IV)O2(terpy)2(H2O)2]3+ (2) to act as a catalyst for water oxidation, we have investigated in detail its redox properties and that of its mononuclear precursor complex [Mn(II)(terpy)2]2+ (1) in aqueous solution. It appears that electrochemical oxidation of 1 allows the quantitative formation of 2 and, most importantly, that electrochemical oxidation of 2 quantitatively yields the stable tetranuclear Mn(IV) complex, [Mn4(IV)O5(terpy)4(H2O)2]6+ (4), having a linear mono-mu-oxo{Mn2(mu-oxo)2}2 core. Therefore, these results show that the electrochemical oxidation of 2 in aqueous solution is only a one-electron process leading to 4 via the formation of a mono-mu-oxo bridge between two oxidized [Mn2(IV,IV)O2(terpy)2(H2O)2]4+ species. 4 is also quantitatively formed by dissolution of the binuclear complex [Mn2(IV,IV)O2(terpy)2(SO4)2] (3) in aqueous solutions. Evidence of this work is that 4 is stable in aqueous solutions, and even if it is a good synthetic analogue of the "dimers-of-dimers" model compound of the OEC in PSII, this complex is not able to oxidize water. As a consequence, since 4 results from an one-electron oxidation of 2, 2 cannot act as an efficient homogeneous electrocatalyst for water oxidation. This work demonstrates that a simple oxidation of 2 cannot produce molecular oxygen without the help of an oxygen donor.  相似文献

The tetranuclear manganese complex [Mn(IV)(4)O(5)(terpy)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(6) (1; terpy = 2,2':6',2″-terpyridine) gives catalytic water oxidation in aqueous solution, as determined by electrochemistry and GC-MS. Complex 1 also exhibits catalytic water oxidation when adsorbed on kaolin clay, with Ce(IV) as the primary oxidant. The redox intermediates of complex 1 adsorbed on kaolin clay upon addition of Ce(IV) have been characterized by using diffuse reflectance UV/visible and EPR spectroscopy. One of the products in the reaction on kaolin clay is Mn(III), as determined by parallel-mode EPR spectroscopic studies. When 1 is oxidized in aqueous solution with Ce(IV), the reaction intermediates are unstable and decompose to form Mn(II), detected by EPR spectroscopy, and MnO(2). DFT calculations show that the oxygen in the mono-μ-oxo bridge, rather than Mn(IV), is oxidized after an electron is removed from the Mn(IV,IV,IV,IV) tetramer. On the basis of the calculations, the formation of O(2) is proposed to occur by reaction of water with an electrophilic manganese-bound oxyl radical species, (?)O-Mn(2)(IV/IV), produced during the oxidation of the tetramer. This study demonstrates that [Mn(IV)(4)O(5)(terpy)(4)(H(2)O)(2)](ClO(4))(6) may be relevant for understanding the role of the Mn tetramer in photosystem II.  相似文献

Reaction of M(OAc)(2).xH(2)O (M = Mn, Cu, or Cd) with di-tert-butyl phosphate (dtbp-H) in a 1:2 molar ratio in methanol followed by slow crystallization of the resultant solid in MeOH/THF medium results in the formation of three new polymeric metal phosphates [M(dtbp)(2)](n)() [M = Mn, 1 (beige); M = Cu, 2 (blue)] and [Cd(dtbp)(2)(H(2)O)](n)(), 3 (colorless)] in good yields. The formation of [Mn(dtbp)(2)](n) (1) proceeds via tetrameric manganese phosphate [Mn(4)(O)(dtbp)(6)] (4), which has been isolated in an analytically pure form. Perfectly air- and moisture-stable compounds 1-4 were characterized with the aid of analytical, thermoanalytical, and spectroscopic techniques. The molecular structures of 1-3 were further established by single-crystal X-ray diffraction studies. Crystal data for 1: C(32)H(72)Mn(2)O(16)P(4), monoclinic, P2(1)/c, a = 19.957(4) A, b = 13.419(1) A, c = 18.083(2) A, beta = 91.25(2) degrees, Z = 4. Crystal data for 2: C(16)H(36)CuO(8)P(2), orthorhombic, Pccn, a = 23.777(2) A, b = 10.074(1) A, c = 10.090(1) A, Z = 4. Crystal data for 3: C(48)H(114)Cd(3)O(27)P(6), triclinic, P1, a = 12.689(3) A, b = 14.364(3) A, c = 22.491(5) A, alpha = 84.54(3) degrees, beta = 79.43(3) degrees, gamma = 70.03(3) degrees, Z = 2. The diffraction studies reveal three different structural forms for the three compounds investigated, each possessing a one-dimensional coordination polymeric structure. While alternating triple and single dtbp bridges are found between the adjacent Mn(2+) ions in 1, uniform double dtbp bridges across the adjacent Cu(2+) ions are present in 2. The cadmium ions in the structure of 3 are pentacoordinated. Thermal analysis (TGA and DSC) indicates that compounds 1-3 convert to the corresponding crystalline metaphosphate materials M(PO(3))(2), in each case at temperatures below 500 degrees C. Similarly, the thermal decomposition of 4 results in the formation of Mn(PO(3))(3) and Mn(2)P(2)O(7). The final materials obtained by independent thermal decomposition of bulk samples have been characterized using IR spectroscopic, powder diffraction, and N(2) adsorption studies.  相似文献

The first chainlike germanate, [Ge(7)O(13)(OH)(2)F(3)](3)(-).Cl(-).2[Ni(dien)(2)](2+), has been solvothermally synthesized by using Ni(dien)(2)(2+) cations as the template and characterized by IR, SEM, TGA, powder X-ray diffraction (PXRD), energy-dispersive X-ray analysis (EDXA), elemental analysis, and single-crystal X-ray diffraction, respectively. This compound crystallized in the monoclinic space group P2/nwith a = 8.8904(2) A, b = 17.4374(3) A, c = 13.2110(3) A, beta = 101.352(1) degrees, V = 2007.97(7) A(3), and Z = 2. Interestingly, the structure contains two types of chiral mer-[Ni(dien)(2)](2+) cations and two types of chiral chains, one left-handed and the other right-handed, which lead to a racemic compound. The orderly separation of achiral s-fac-[Ni(dien)(2)](2+) and chiral mer-[Ni(dien)(2)](2+) isomers was found in the structure. The structure is stabilized by N-H.O(F, Cl) hydrogen bonds.  相似文献

The new cyano complexes of formulas PPh(4)[Fe(III)(bipy)(CN)(4)] x H(2)O (1), [[Fe(III)(bipy)(CN)(4)](2)M(II)(H(2)O)(4)] x 4H(2)O with M = Mn (2) and Zn (3), and [[Fe(III)(bipy)(CN)(4)](2)Zn(II)] x 2H(2)O (4) [bipy = 2,2'-bipyridine and PPh(4) = tetraphenylphosphonium cation] have been synthesized and structurally characterized. The structure of complex 1 is made up of mononuclear [Fe(bipy)(CN)(4)](-) anions, tetraphenyphosphonium cations, and water molecules of crystallization. The iron(III) is hexacoordinated with two nitrogen atoms of a chelating bipy and four carbon atoms of four terminal cyanide groups, building a distorted octahedron around the metal atom. The structure of complexes 2 and 3 consists of neutral centrosymmetric [[Fe(III)(bipy)(CN)(4)](2)M(II)(H(2)O)(4)] heterotrinuclear units and crystallization water molecules. The [Fe(bipy)(CN)(4)](-) entity of 1 is present in 2 and 3 acting as a monodentate ligand toward M(H(2)O)(4) units [M = Mn(II) (2) and Zn(II) (3)] through one cyanide group, the other three cyanides remaining terminal. Four water molecules and two cyanide nitrogen atoms from two [Fe(bipy)(CN)(4)](-) units in trans positions build a distorted octahedron surrounding Mn(II) (2) and Zn(II) (3). The structure of the [Fe(phen)(CN)(4)](-) complex ligand in 2 and 3 is close to that of the one in 1. The intramolecular Fe-M distances are 5.126(1) and 5.018(1) A in 2 and 3, respectively. 4 exhibits a neutral one-dimensional polymeric structure containing two types of [Fe(bipy)(CN)(4)](-) units acting as bismonodentate (Fe(1)) and trismonodentate (Fe(2)) ligands versus the divalent zinc cations through two cis-cyanide (Fe(1)) and three fac-cyanide (Fe(2)) groups. The environment of the iron atoms in 4 is distorted octahedral as in 1-3, whereas the zinc atom is pentacoordinated with five cyanide nitrogen atoms, describing a very distorted square pyramid. The iron-zinc separations across the single bridging cyanides are 5.013(1) and 5.142(1) A at Fe(1) and 5.028(1), 5.076(1), and 5.176(1) A at Fe(2). The magnetic properties of 1-3 have been investigated in the temperature range 2.0-300 K. 1 is a low-spin iron(III) complex with an important orbital contribution. The magnetic properties of 3 correspond to the sum of two magnetically isolated spin triplets, the antiferromagnetic coupling between the low-spin iron(III) centers through the -CN-Zn-NC- bridging skeleton (iron-iron separation larger than 10 A) being very weak. More interestingly, 2 exhibits a significant intramolecular antiferromagnetic interaction between the central spin sextet and peripheral spin doublets, leading to a low-lying spin quartet.  相似文献

The reactions of the singly deprotonated di-2-pyridylmethanediol ligand (dpmdH(-)) with copper(II) and bismuth(III) have been investigated. A new dinuclear bismuth(III) complex Bi(2)(dpmdH)(2)(O(2)CCF(3))(4)(THF)(2), 1, has been obtained by the reaction of BiPh(3) with di-2-pyridyl ketone in the presence of HO(2)CCF(3) in tetrahydrofuran (THF). The reaction of Cu(OCH(3))(2) with di-2-pyridyl ketone, H(2)O, and acetic acid in a 1:2:2:2 ratio yielded a mononuclear complex Cu[(2-Py)(2)CO(OH)](2)(HO(2)CCH(3))(2), 2, while the reaction of Cu(OAC)(2)(H(2)O) with di-2-pyridyl ketone and acetic acid in a 2:1:1 ratio yielded a tetranuclear complex Cu(4)[(2-Py)(2)CO(OH)](2)(O(2)CCH(3))(6)(H(2)O)(2), 3. The structures of these complexes were determined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction analyses. Three different bonding modes of the dpmdH(-) ligand were observed in compounds 1-3. In 2, the dpmdH(-) ligand functions as a tridentate chelate to the copper center and forms a hydrogen bond between the OH group and the noncoordinating HO(2)CCH(3) molecule. In 1 and 3, the dpmdH(-) ligand functions as a bridging ligand to two metal centers through the oxygen atom. The two pyridyl groups of the dpmdH(-) ligand are bound to one bismuth(III) center in 1, while in 3 they are bound two copper(II) centers, respectively. Compound 3 has an unusual one dimensional hydrogen bonded extended structure. The intramolecular magnetic interaction in 3 has been found to be dominated by ferromagnetism.
