Perturbation from symmetry for indefinite semilinear elliptic equations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
We prove the existence of an unbounded sequence of solutions for an elliptic equation of the form \({-\Delta u=\lambda u + a(x)g(u)+f(x), u\in H^1_0(\Omega)}\), where \({\lambda \in \mathbb{R}, g(\cdot)}\) is subcritical and superlinear at infinity, and a(x) changes sign in Ω; moreover, g( ? s) =  ? g(s) \({\forall s}\). The proof uses Rabinowitz’s perturbation method applied to a suitably truncated problem; subsequent energy and Morse index estimates allow us to recover the original problem. We consider the case of \({\Omega\subset \mathbb{R}^N}\) bounded as well as \({\Omega=\mathbb{R}^N, \, N\geqslant 3}\).  相似文献

This work deals with the solvability near the characteristic set Σ = {0} × S 1 of operators of the form \({L=\partial/\partial t + (x^na(x) + ix^mb(x))\partial/\partial x}\), \({b\not\equiv0}\) and a(0) ≠ 0, defined on \({\Omega_\epsilon=(-\epsilon,\epsilon)\times S^1}\), \({\epsilon >0 }\), where a and b are real-valued smooth functions in \({(-\epsilon,\epsilon)}\) and m ≥ 2n. It is shown that given f belonging to a subspace of finite codimension of \({C^\infty(\Omega_\epsilon)}\) there is a solution \({u\in L^\infty}\) of the equation Lu = f in a neighborhood of Σ; moreover, the L regularity is sharp.  相似文献

Let \({\Omega}\) be a Lipschitz bounded domain of \({\mathbb{R}^N}\), \({N\geq2}\), and let \({u_p\in W_0^{1,p}(\Omega)}\) denote the p-torsion function of \({\Omega}\), p > 1. It is observed that the value 1 for the Cheeger constant \({h(\Omega)}\) is threshold with respect to the asymptotic behavior of up, as \({p\rightarrow 1^+}\), in the following sense: when \({h(\Omega) > 1}\), one has \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_{p}\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega)}=0}\), and when \({h(\Omega) < 1}\), one has \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_p\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega)}=\infty}\). In the case \({h(\Omega)=1}\), it is proved that \({\limsup_{p\rightarrow1^+}\left\|u_p\right\|_{L^\infty(\Omega)}<\infty}\). For a radial annulus \({\Omega_{a,b}}\), with inner radius a and outer radius b, it is proved that \({\lim_{p\rightarrow 1^+}\left\|u_p\right\| _{L^\infty(\Omega_{a,b})}=0}\) when \({h(\Omega_{a,b})=1}\).  相似文献

Let \({\varphi: \mathbb{P}^N_K\to\mathbb{P}^N_K}\) be a morphism of degree d ≥ 2 defined over a field K that is algebraically closed field and complete with respect to a nonarchimedean absolute value. We prove that a modified Green function \({\hat{g}_\varphi}\) associated to \({\varphi}\) is Hölder continuous on \({\mathbb{P}^N(K)}\) and that the Fatou set \({\mathcal{F}(\varphi)}\) of \({\varphi}\) is equal to the set of points at which \({\hat{g}_\Phi}\) is locally constant. Further, \({\hat{g}_\varphi}\) vanishes precisely on the set of points P such that \({\varphi}\) has good reduction at every point in the forward orbit \({\mathcal{O}_\varphi(P)}\) of P. We also prove that the iterates of \({\varphi}\) are locally uniformly Lipschitz on \({\mathcal{F}(\varphi)}\) .  相似文献

Let \(\mathrm{SM}_{2n}(S^1,\mathbb {R})\) be a set of stable Morse functions of an oriented circle such that the number of singular points is \(2n\in \mathbb {N}\) and the order of singular values satisfies the particular condition. For an orthogonal projection \(\pi :\mathbb {R}^2\rightarrow \mathbb {R}\), let \({\tilde{f}}_0\) and \({\tilde{f}}_1:S^1\rightarrow \mathbb {R}^2\) be embedding lifts of f. If there is an ambient isotopy \(\tilde{\varphi }_t:\mathbb {R}^2\rightarrow \mathbb {R}^2\) \((t\in [0,1])\) such that \({\pi \circ \tilde{\varphi }}_t(y_1,y_2)=y_1\) and \(\tilde{\varphi }_1\circ {\tilde{f}}_0={\tilde{f}}_1\), we say that \({\tilde{f}}_0\) and \({\tilde{f}}_1\) are height isotopic. We define a function \(I:\mathrm{SM}_{2n}(S^1,\mathbb {R})\rightarrow \mathbb {N}\) as follows: I(f) is the number of height isotopy classes of embeddings such that each rotation number is one. In this paper, we determine the maximal value of the function I equals the n-th Baxter number and the minimal value equals \(2^{n-1}\).  相似文献

We apply the compactness results obtained in the first part of this work, to prove existence and multiplicity results for finite energy solutions to the nonlinear elliptic equation
$$-\triangle u + V \left(\left|x\right|\right) u = g \left(\left|x\right|, u\right) \quad {\rm in} \Omega \subseteq \mathbb{R}^{N},\,N \geq 3,$$
where \({\Omega}\) is a radial domain (bounded or unbounded) and u satisfies u =  0 on \({\partial\Omega}\) if \({\Omega \neq\mathbb{R}^{N}}\) and \({u \rightarrow 0}\) as \({\left|x\right| \rightarrow \infty}\) if \({\Omega}\) is unbounded. The potential V may be vanishing or unbounded at zero or at infinity and the nonlinearity g may be superlinear or sublinear. If g is sublinear, the case with a forcing term \({g\left(\left|\cdot\right|, 0\right) \neq 0}\) is also considered. Our results allow to deal with V and g exhibiting behaviours at zero or at infinity which are new in the literature and, when \({\Omega = \mathbb{R}^{N}}\), do not need to be compatible with each other.

We deal with functions which fulfil the condition \({\Delta_h^{n+1} \varphi(x)\in\mathbb{Z}}\) for all x, h taken from some linear space V. We derive necessary and sufficient conditions for such a function to be decent in the following sense: there exist functions \({f\colon V\rightarrow \mathbb{R},\ g\colon V \rightarrow \mathbb{Z}}\) such that \({\varphi = f + g}\) and \({\Delta_h^{n+1}f(x)=0}\) for all \({x, h\in V}\).  相似文献

Let \({\Omega}\) a bounded domain in \({\mathbb{R} ^N }\), and let \({u\in C^1 (\overline{\Omega})}\) a weak solution of the following overdetermined BVP: \({-\nabla (g(|\nabla u|)|\nabla u|^{-1}\nabla u)=f(|x|,u)}\), \({ u > 0 }\) in \({\Omega }\) and \({u=0, \ |\nabla u(x)|=\lambda (|x|)}\) on \({\partial \Omega }\), where \({g\in C([0,+\infty)\cap C^1 ((0,+\infty ) ) }\) with \({g(0)=0}\), \({g'(t) > 0}\) for \({t > 0}\), \({f\in C([0,+\infty ) \times [0, +\infty ) )}\), f is nonincreasing in \({|x|}\), \({\lambda \in C([0, +\infty )) }\) and \({\lambda }\) is positive and nondecreasing. We show that \({\Omega }\) is a ball and u satisfies some “local” kind of symmetry. The proof is based on the method of continuous Steiner symmetrization.  相似文献

Let \({p \in (1,\infty)}\), \({s \in (0,1)}\) and \({\Omega \subset {\mathbb{R}^{N}}}\) a bounded open set with boundary \({\partial\Omega}\) of class C 1,1. In the first part of the article we prove an integration by parts formula for the fractional p-Laplace operator \({(-\Delta)_{p}^{s}}\) defined on \({\Omega \subset {\mathbb{R}^{N}}}\) and acting on functions that do not necessarily vanish at the boundary \({\partial\Omega}\). In the second part of the article we use the above mentioned integration by parts formula to clarify the fractional Neumann and Robin boundary conditions associated with the fractional p-Laplacian on open sets.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group, A a finite abelian group. Each homomorphism \({\varphi:G\rightarrow A\wr S_n}\) induces a homomorphism \({\overline{\varphi}:G\rightarrow A}\) in a natural way. We show that as \({\varphi}\) is chosen randomly, then the distribution of \({\overline{\varphi}}\) is close to uniform. As application we prove a conjecture of T. Müller on the number of homomorphisms from a finite group into Weyl groups of type D n .  相似文献

We consider a system \({\{X_1,\ldots,X_N\}}\) of N particles in a bounded d-dimensional domain D. During periods in which none of the particles \({X_1,\ldots,X_N}\) hit the boundary \({\partial D}\) , the system behaves like N independent d-dimensional Brownian motions. When one of the particles hits the boundary \({\partial D}\) , then it instantaneously jumps to the site of one of the remaining N ? 1 particles with probability (N ? 1)?1. For the system \({\{X_1,\ldots,X_N\}}\) , the existence of an invariant measure \({\nu\mskip-12mu \nu}\) has been demonstrated in Burdzy et al. [Comm Math Phys 214(3):679–703, 2000]. We provide a structural formula for this invariant measure \({\nu\mskip-12mu \nu}\) in terms of the invariant measure m of the Markov chain \({\xi}\) which returns the sites the process \({X:=(X_1,\ldots,X_N)}\) jumps to after hitting the boundary \({\partial D^N}\) . In addition, we characterize the asymptotic behavior of the invariant measure m of \({\xi}\) when N → ∞. Using the methods of the paper, we provide a rigorous proof of the fact that the stationary empirical measure processes \({\frac1N\sum_{i=1}^N\delta_{X_i}}\) converge weakly as N → ∞ to a deterministic constant motion. This motion is concentrated on the probability measure whose density with respect to the Lebesgue measure is the first eigenfunction of the Dirichlet Laplacian on D. This result can be regarded as a complement to a previous one in Grigorescu and Kang [Stoch Process Appl 110(1):111–143, 2004].  相似文献

Let X be a non-void set and A be a subalgebra of \({\mathbb{C}^{X}}\) . We call a \({\mathbb{C}}\) -linear functional \({\varphi}\) on A a 1-evaluation if \({\varphi(f) \in f(X) }\) for all \({f\in A}\) . From the classical Gleason–Kahane–?elazko theorem, it follows that if X in addition is a compact Hausdorff space then a mapping \({\varphi}\) of \({C_{\mathbb{C}}(X) }\) into \({\mathbb{C}}\) is a 1-evaluation if and only if \({\varphi}\) is a \({\mathbb{C}}\) -homomorphism. In this paper, we aim to investigate the extent to which this equivalence between 1-evaluations and \({\mathbb{C}}\) -homomorphisms can be generalized to a wider class of self-conjugate subalgebras of \({\mathbb{C}^{X}}\) . In this regards, we prove that a \({\mathbb{C}}\) -linear functional on a self-conjugate subalgebra A of \({\mathbb{C}^{X}}\) is a positive \({\mathbb{C}}\) -homomorphism if and only if \({\varphi}\) is a \({\overline{1}}\) -evaluation, that is, \({\varphi(f) \in\overline{f\left(X\right)}}\) for all \({f\in A}\) . As consequences of our general study, we prove that 1-evaluations and \({\mathbb{C}}\) -homomorphisms on \({C_{\mathbb{C}}\left( X\right)}\) coincide for any topological space X and we get a new characterization of realcompact topological spaces.  相似文献

In this paper the authors study the boundedness for a large class of sublinear operators \({T_{\alpha}, \alpha \in [0,n)}\) generated by Calderón–Zygmund operators (α = 0) and generated by Riesz potential operator (α > 0) on generalized Morrey spaces \({M_{p,\varphi}}\) . As an application of the above result, the boundeness of the commutator of sublinear operators \({T_{b,\alpha}, \alpha \in [0,n)}\) on generalized Morrey spaces is also obtained. In the case \({b \in BMO}\) and T b,α is a sublinear operator, we find the sufficient conditions on the pair \({(\varphi_1,\varphi_2)}\) which ensures the boundedness of the operators \({T_{b,\alpha}, \alpha \in [0,n)}\) from one generalized Morrey space \({M_{p,\varphi_1}}\) to another \({M_{q,\varphi_2}}\) with 1/p ? 1/q = α/n. In all the cases the conditions for the boundedness are given in terms of Zygmund-type integral inequalities on \({(\varphi_1,\varphi_2)}\) , which do not assume any assumption on monotonicity of \({\varphi_1, \, \varphi_2}\) in r. Conditions of these theorems are satisfied by many important operators in analysis, in particular, Littlewood–Paley operator, Marcinkiewicz operator and Bochner–Riesz operator.  相似文献

We study nonlinear elliptic equations in divergence form
$$\text {div }{\mathcal A}(x,Du)=\text {div } G.$$
When \({\mathcal A}\) has linear growth in D u, and assuming that \(x\mapsto {\mathcal A}(x,\xi )\) enjoys \(B^{\alpha }_{\frac {n}\alpha , q}\) smoothness, local well-posedness is found in \(B^{\alpha }_{p,q}\) for certain values of \(p\in [2,\frac {n}{\alpha })\) and \(q\in [1,\infty ]\). In the particular case \({\mathcal A}(x,\xi )=A(x)\xi \), G = 0 and \(A\in B^{\alpha }_{\frac {n}\alpha ,q}\), \(1\leq q\leq \infty \), we obtain \(Du\in B^{\alpha }_{p,q}\) for each \(p<\frac {n}\alpha \). Our main tool in the proof is a more general result, that holds also if \({\mathcal A}\) has growth s?1 in D u, 2 ≤ sn, and asserts local well-posedness in L q for each q > s, provided that \(x\mapsto {\mathcal A}(x,\xi )\) satisfies a locally uniform VMO condition.

We study the quantization with respect to the geometric mean error for probability measures μ on \({\mathbb{R}^d}\) for which there exist some constants C, η > 0 such that \({\mu(B(x,\varepsilon))\leq C\varepsilon^\eta}\) for all ε > 0 and all \({x\in\mathbb{R}^d}\) . For such measures μ, we prove that the upper quantization dimension \({\overline{D}(\mu)}\) of μ is bounded from above by its upper packing dimension and the lower one \({\underline{D}(\mu)}\) is bounded from below by its lower Hausdorff dimension. This enables us to calculate the quantization dimension for a large class of probability measures which have nice local behavior, including the self-affine measures on general Sierpiński carpets and self-conformal measures. Moreover, based on our previous work, we prove that the upper and lower quantization coefficient for a self-conformal measure are both positive and finite.  相似文献

We consider generalized Morrey spaces \({\mathcal{L}^{p(\cdot),\varphi(\cdot)}( X )}\) on quasi-metric measure spaces \({X,d,\mu}\), in general unbounded, with variable exponent p(x) and a general function \({\varphi(x,r)}\) defining the Morrey-type norm. No linear structure of the underlying space X is assumed. The admission of unbounded X generates problems known in variable exponent analysis. We prove the boundedness results for maximal operator known earlier only for the case of bounded sets X. The conditions for the boundedness are given in terms of the so called supremal inequalities imposed on the function \({\varphi(x,r)}\), which are weaker than Zygmund-type integral inequalities often used for characterization of admissible functions \({\varphi}\). Our conditions do not suppose any assumption on monotonicity of \({\varphi(x,r)}\) in r.  相似文献

Let \({\mathcal{M}}\) be a semifinite von Neumann algebra with a faithful, normal, semifinite trace \({\tau}\) and E be a strongly symmetric Banach function space on \({[0,\tau({\bf 1}))}\) . We show that an operator x in the unit sphere of \({E(\mathcal{M}, \tau)}\) is k-extreme, \({k \in {\mathbb{N}}}\) , whenever its singular value function \({\mu(x)}\) is k-extreme and one of the following conditions hold (i) \({\mu(\infty, x) = \lim_{t\to\infty}\mu(t, x) = 0}\) or (ii) \({n(x)\mathcal{M}n(x^*) = 0}\) and \({|x| \geq \mu(\infty, x)s(x)}\) , where n(x) and s(x) are null and support projections of x, respectively. The converse is true whenever \({\mathcal{M}}\) is non-atomic. The global k-rotundity property follows, that is if \({\mathcal{M}}\) is non-atomic then E is k-rotund if and only if \(E(\mathcal{M}, \tau)\) is k-rotund. As a consequence of the noncommutative results we obtain that f is a k-extreme point of the unit ball of the strongly symmetric function space E if and only if its decreasing rearrangement \({\mu(f)}\) is k-extreme and \({|f| \geq \mu(\infty,f)}\) . We conclude with the corollary on orbits Ω(g) and Ω′(g). We get that f is a k-extreme point of the orbit \({\Omega(g),\,g \in L_1 + L_{\infty}}\) , or \({\Omega'(g),\,g \in L_1[0, \alpha),\,\alpha < \infty}\) , if and only if \({\mu(f) = \mu(g)}\) and \({|f| \geq \mu(\infty, f)}\) . From this we obtain a characterization of k-extreme points in Marcinkiewicz spaces.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish a multiplicity result of nontrivial weak solutions for the problem \((-\Delta )^{\alpha } u +u= h(u)\)    in \(\Omega _{\lambda }\), \(u=0\)    on \(\partial \Omega _{\lambda }\), where \(\Omega _{\lambda }=\lambda \Omega \), \(\Omega \) is a smooth and bounded domain in \({\mathbb {R}}^N, N>2\alpha \), \(\lambda \) is a positive parameter, \(\alpha \in (0,1)\), \((-\Delta )^{\alpha }\) is the fractional Laplacian and the nonlinear term h(u) has subcritical growth. We use minimax methods, the Ljusternick–Schnirelmann and Morse theories to get multiplicity results depending on the topology of \(\Omega \).  相似文献

In this paper, we study the asymptotic behavior of viscosity solutions to boundary blow-up elliptic problem \({\Delta_{\infty}u=b(x)f(u),\, x\in\Omega,\,u|_{\partial\Omega}=+\infty,}\) where \({\Omega}\) is a bounded domain with C2-boundary in \({\mathbb{R}^{N}}\), \({b\in \rm C(\bar{\Omega})}\) is positive in \({\Omega}\), which may be vanishing on the boundary, \({f\in C^{1}([0, \infty))}\) is regularly varying or is rapidly varying at infinity.  相似文献
