A bipartite multiphoton entangled state is created through stimulated parametric down-conversion of strong laser pulses in a nonlinear crystal. It is shown how detectors that do not resolve the photon number can be used to analyze such multiphoton states. Entanglement of up to 12 photons is detected using both the positivity of the partially-transposed density matrix and a newly derived criteria. Furthermore, evidence is provided for entanglement of up to 100 photons. The multiparticle quantum state is such that even in the case of an overall photon collection and detection efficiency as low as a few percent, entanglement remains and can be detected.  相似文献

This paper reviews the recent achievements in nonrelativistic quantum electrodynamics, especially nonlinear and coherent phenomena. The general properties of coupled radiation and matter are presented within simple models in section 1. The following sections treat in some detail three main aspects of the system and can be read independently of each other. Section 2 discusses some experiments with long-wave-length radiation (r.f.) and atoms. Section 3 presents the quantum theory of a laser and the ensuing photon distributions. Section 4 treats the case of strongly correlated emission of radiation called superradiance. The use of statistical ensembles is briefly discussed in Appendix A, whereas Appendices B, C and D present some technical details of the text.  相似文献

For the first time the high-energy neutrons scattering in a crystal is considered under the influence of an external laser wave field. The process is inelastic with respect to the laser wave and at the same time it is elastic with respect to a crystal. The possibility of high-energy neutron diffraction is illustrated—wavelength of neutrons is less than the lattice period. The method is based on the multiphoton interaction of the neutron anomalous magnetic moment with the field of laser radiation by using the Farri representation. The neutron-phonon interaction is considered to be a perturbation described by the Fermi pseudopotential.  相似文献

The interaction of high-intensity, short-pulse laser radiation with liquids is fundamental to many contemporary technologies. Nonlinear phenomena can become important at high intensities, resulting in dramatic changes in the thermal response of the liquid to the incident radiation compared to classical model predictions. This work presents an experimental technique to measure the temperature rise during high-intensity laser-liquid interactions based on photothermal deflection of a laser probe beam. The technique is applicable for both weakly and strongly absorbing liquids, and for moderate and strong focusing of the heating laser beam. The experimental data are compared to theoretical predictions for two distinct high-intensity phenomena: saturable absorption and multiphoton ionization. The agreement between experimental predictions and theoretical results is good.  相似文献

The nonlinear and multiphoton interaction between a single two-level atom and two modes of radiation is studied in a generalized Jaynes-Cummings model. An intensity-dependent level shift is considered. The time evolution operator is obtained. The detuning has a photon number dependence. Different statistical aspects pertaining to either the atom or the fields are calculated. The dipole moment, the dipole-dipole correlation function, as well as the transient spectrum are obtained.  相似文献

A model of multiphoton absorption of i.r. laser radiation by an anharmonic, molecular, vibrational mode is discussed. The multiphoton absorption is described as a stochastic process for which the reservoir, including rotation and other vibrational modes, modulates the frequency of the active oscillator stochastically. An intracavity laser interaction zone with molecules expanded in a molecular beam set-up permits multiphoton excitation under collision-free conditions by narrow band radiation. Two- and three-laser experiments are performed to study rapid adiabatic passage processes, stimulated de-excitation and hole burning effects. The detection of excitation occurs by means of a sensitive bolometric molecular beam detector. The essential information obtained for SF6 concerns the vibrational bottleneck, the conservation of excited eigenstate characteristics for at least 1 ms, the ease with which about 15 photons can be deposited in the molecules with the help of two cw CO2 lasers and the influence of simultaneous two-frequency radiation, yielding a significant extra-excitation. Other molecules where multiphoton excitation is observed utilizing the same set-up are CF3I and CF3Br.  相似文献

A new nonlinear correlation method which makes it possible to measure the duration of uv ultrashort pulses has been proposed. In this method the multiphoton ionization of gases is used as a nonlinear process and the ion current caused by the process is detected. We have also experimentally demonstrated its usefulness in the uv region by observing the second- and the third-order auto-correlation profiles of picosecond pulses at 2661 Å (the fourth harmonic of a mode-locked YAG laser), using NO and Xe gases, respectively.  相似文献

本文从非线性光学中辐射跃迁速率的表达式出发,在全量子理论下,导出了半导体中任意阶多光子吸收跃迁速率的一般表达式。理论分析结果表明,n光子吸收跃迁速率与光强的n次方和n阶光子相干度成正比。本文在多能带及二能带理论模型下,对多光子吸收跃迁速率的一般表达式进行了化简,并对非线性相互作用项对跃迁速率的贡献,作了讨论。  相似文献

The study of the creation of doubly charged ions upon the laser-induced multiphoton ionization of alkaline-earth metals is reviewed. The results show that the features of the creation of the doubly charged ions depend on the spectral range of the ionizing laser radiation. In the ionization of the alkaline-earth atoms by the visible laser radiation, the cascade creation of the doubly charged ions is predominantly implemented when the ions result from the multiphoton ionization of singly charged ions created in the presence of the same laser pulse. In the multiphoton ionization of the alkaline-earth atoms by the IR laser radiation, the two-electron process occurs when the doubly charged ions are directly created from neutral atoms owing to the ionization via induced resonances with strongly perturbed states of these atoms.  相似文献

Using the matrix density in the representation of path integrals for an electron, the multiphoton nonlinear absorption light coefficient in the second order of interaction energy with polar optical phonons is derived. This coefficient describes any electron interaction mechanism with phonons. From the interaction mechanism, the main role is played by dimensional resonance when the electron continuously absorbs energy from the field as a result of synchronizing its oscillation with the field. This dimensional resonance is possible when the frequency characterizing the laser field is a multiple of the phonon frequency. Whether a photon is absorbed or emitted, the initial level from where the transition occurs defines the temperature dependence. The absorption spectrum has the form of stripes whose intensity depends on the resonance character. 本文通过数值模拟(3+1)维扩展的广义非线性薛定谔方程,研究了紧聚焦飞秒激光脉冲在诱导石英玻璃的非线性电离过程中电子动量弛豫时间对于该电离过程的影响.计算结果证明电子动量弛豫时间会直接影响入射脉冲在焦点区域所形成的峰值场强、自由电子态密度和能流等参量的分布态势,因此在与实验结果相比较后发现适合于相互作用过程的电子动量弛豫时间的理论值约为1.27 fs.进一步的研究表明,电子动量弛豫时间与逆韧致吸收效应、雪崩电离的概率、等离子体密度、等离子体的自散焦效果以及间接引起的焦平面位置的移动都有着密切的联系.当前的研究结果表明电子动量弛豫时间在飞秒激光脉冲与物质相互作用的过程中发挥着重要作用.  相似文献

The connection between the time characteristics of laser radiation and the characteristics of the multiphoton luminescence track in the presence of errors in track measurement is discussed. Estimates of the measurement accuracy required to record ultrashort pulses are obtained. 相比于传统的光学成像技术,近年来获得快速发展的新型多光子成像技术具有穿透深度大,组织光损伤小,信噪比高,且可方便进行光学层析成像的特点,故而被广泛应用于包括脑、肿瘤、胚胎在内的多种活体组织成像中。本综述回顾了新型多光子成像技术的诞生与发展历程,包括微型化双光子成像技术、双光子内窥技术和三光子成像技术,概括分析了其基本原理与成像特点,讨论了这一领域具有代表性的最新研究成果,重点总结了其在生物学基础研究领域和临床医学诊断中的主要应用,并展望了其未来的应用与发展前景。可以预见,随着激光器和光探测技术的不断进步,多光子成像技术将会得到更大的发展与更加广泛的应用。  相似文献

Radiation reaction effects in the interaction of an electron and a strong laser field are investigated in the realm of quantum electrodynamics. We identify the quantum radiation reaction with the multiple photon recoils experienced by the laser-driven electron due to consecutive incoherent photon emissions. After determining a quantum radiation dominated regime, we demonstrate how in this regime quantum signatures of the radiation reaction strongly affect multiphoton Compton scattering spectra and that they could be measurable in principle with presently available laser technology.  相似文献
