This paper deals with chaos for subshifts of finite type. We show that for any subshift of finite type determined by an irreducible and aperiodic matrix, there is a finitely chaotic set with full Hausdorff dimension. Moreover, for any subshift of finite type determined by a matrix, we point out that the cases including positive topological entropy, distributional chaos, chaos and Devaney chaos are mutually equivalent. 相似文献

This paper is concerned with estimations of topological entropy for non-autonomous discrete systems. An estimation of lower bound of topological entropy for coupled-expanding systems associated with transition matrices in compact Hausdorff spaces is given. Estimations of upper and lower bounds of topological entropy for systems in compact metric spaces are obtained by their topological equi-semiconjugacy to subshifts of finite type under certain conditions. We characterize the possible nonzero spectra of primitive integer matrices (the integer case of Boyle and Handelman's Spectral Conjecture). Characterizations of nonzero spectra of nonnegative matrices over and follow from this result. For the proof of the main theorem we use polynomial matrices to reduce the problem of realizing a candidate spectrum to factoring the polynomial as a product where the 's are polynomials in satisfying some technical conditions and is a formal power series in . To obtain the factorization, we present a hierarchy of estimates on coefficients of power series of the form to ensure nonpositivity in nonzero degree terms.

This work expands the mathematical theory which connects continuous dynamical systems and the discrete dynamical systems obtained from the associated numerical schemes. The problem is considered within the setting of Topological Dynamics. The topological dynamic consistency of a family of DDSs and the associated continuous system is defined as topological equivalence between the evolution operator of the continuous system and the set of maps defining the respective DDSs, for all positive time-step sizes. The one-dimensional theory is developed and a few important representative examples are studied in detail.
