A transannular donor-acceptor interaction in a bicyclic azaamidinium salt was modeled by quantum mechanical calculations using a supermolecule complex consisting of a formamidinium cation and an ammonia molecule. Molecular properties are reported at various geometries. These results are compared with the results of similar calculations on the bicyclic cation itself. The model calculations and the bicyclic cation calculations are in good agreement, but both fail to reproduce the experimentally known structure. Results from ab initio calculations on the model system are discussed, as are results from calculations which included iodide as counterion.  相似文献

Quantum scattering calculations are reported for the O(3P)+H2(v=0,1) reaction using chemically accurate potential energy surfaces of 3A' and 3A" symmetry. We present state-to-state reaction cross sections and rate coefficients as well as thermal rate coefficients for the title reaction using accurate quantum calculations. Our calculations yield reaction cross sections that are in quantitative accord with results of recent crossed molecular beam experiments. Comparisons with results obtained using the J-shifting calculations show that the J-shifting approximation is quite reliable for this system. Thermal rate coefficients from the exact calculations and the J-shifting approximation agree remarkably well with experimental results. Our calculations also reproduce the markedly different OH(v'=0)/OH(v'=1) branching in O(3P)+H2(v=1) reaction, observed in experiments that use different O(3P) atom sources. In particular, we show that the branching ratio is a strong function of the kinetic energy of the O(3P) atom.  相似文献

Quantum-mechanical calculations of the reaction rate for dissociative adsorption of N2 on stepped Ru(0001) are presented. Converged six-dimensional quantum calculations for this heavy-atom reaction have been performed using the multiconfiguration time-dependent Hartree method. A potential-energy surface for the transition-state region is constructed from density-functional theory calculations using Shepard interpolation. The quantum results are in very good agreement with the results of the harmonic transition-state theory. In contrast to the findings of previous model calculations on similar systems, the tunneling effect is found to be small.  相似文献

We report variational and diffusion quantum Monte Carlo (VMC and DMC) calculations of the dissociation energies of the three-electron hemibonded radical cationic dimers of He, NH3, H2O, HF, and Ne. These systems are particularly difficult for standard density-functional methods such as the local-density approximation and the generalized gradient approximation. We have performed both all-electron (AE) and pseudopotential (PP) calculations using Slater-Jastrow wave functions with Hartree-Fock single-particle orbitals. Our results are in good agreement with coupled-cluster CCSD(T) calculations. We have also studied the relative stability of the hemibonded and hydrogen-bonded water radical dimer isomers. Our calculations indicate that the latter isomer is more stable, in agreement with post-Hartree-Fock methods. The excellent agreement between our AE and PP results demonstrates the high quality of the PPs used within our VMC and DMC calculations.  相似文献

The compact orbital and auxiliary basis sets for LCAO-LSD calculations introduced in Part I are tested in molecular calculations on Cr2 and Ni4. The present results for spectroscopic constants and valence orbital energies obtained using medium size orbital expansions with a double-zeta representation for valence orbitals are in very good agreement with those previously calculated with very extended sets. Since the computational time of the present calculations is reduced severalfold compared with the extended basis set calculations, the present basis sets allow increased efficiency of the LCAO-LSD calculations and allow the method to be extended to larger systems.  相似文献

This study reports magnitudes and the orientation of the (13)C(alpha) chemical shift anisotropy (CSA) tensors of peptides obtained using quantum chemical calculations. The dependency of the CSA tensor parameters on the energy optimization of hydrogen atom positions and hydrogen bonding effects and the use of zwitterionic peptides in the calculations are examined. Our results indicate that the energy optimization of the hydrogen atom positions in crystal structures is necessary to obtain accurate CSA tensors. The inclusion of intermolecular effects such as hydrogen bonding in the calculations provided better agreement between the calculated and experimental values; however, the use of zwitterionic peptides in calculations, with or without the inclusion of hydrogen bonding, did not improve the results. In addition, our calculated values are in good agreement with tensor values obtained from solid-state NMR experiments on glycine-containing tripeptides. In the case of peptides containing an aromatic residue, calculations on an isolated peptide yielded more accurate isotropic shift values than the calculations on extended structures of the peptide. The calculations also suggested that the presence of an aromatic ring in the extended crystal peptide structure influences the magnitude of the delta(22) which the present level of ab initio calculations are unable to reproduce.  相似文献

采用紫外光电子能谱(PES)和量子化学方法,研究了以CFCl3化合物为代表的系列化合物(CFCl3、CF2Cl2、CF3Cl、CCl4)不同离子态的电子结构和性质。结果表明,四种化合物CF3Cl、CF2Cl2、CFCl3、CCl4的第一电离能依次下降。结合从头算自洽场分子轨道(abinitioSCFMO)和外壳层格林函数法(OVGF)计算对化合物的PES进行了分析和指认,表明化合物的外层轨道中Cl的孤对电子成分对电离能存在明显的影响;外层格林函数法计算得到电离能与实验吻合很好;同时发现在外壳层格林函数法计算结果中由于考虑相关能,得到的分子轨道存在能级顺序的交错。  相似文献

Ab initio calculations have been carried out on the first and second 1A″ states of HCN using relatively large and flexible basis sets. The predicted geometries have been compared with the experimental results of Herzberg and Innes and with earlier calculations on HCN. These calculations concur with earlier theoretical results and the Walsh diagram prediction that Herzberg and Innes' assignment of the B?1A″ state with bond angle 114.5° is incorrect.  相似文献

A two-component relativistic density functional method based on the Douglas-Kroll-Hess transformation has been applied to the actinyls and hexafluorides of U and Np. All-electron scalar relativistic calculations as well as calculations including spin-orbit interaction have been compared to results obtained with a pseudopotential approach. In addition, several exchange-correlation potentials have been applied to examine their performance for the bond lengths and vibrational frequencies of the title compounds. The calculations confirm the well-known accuracy of the LDA approach for geometries and frequencies, which is corroborated for the hexafluorides where gas phase experimental data are available. Comparison with results of accurate wave function based methods provides further confirmation of this finding. Gradient-corrected functionals tend to overestimate bond lengths and underestimate frequencies also for actinide compounds. The results obtained with Stoll-Preuss (small core) effective core potentials agree very well with those of all-electron calculations, while calculations with Hay-Martin large core pseudopotentials are somewhat less accurate. For all molecules and properties considered, spin-orbit effects have been found negligible concomitant with the closed-shell electronic structure of the U(VI) compounds and the open-shell situation of the Np(VI) compounds with a single valence f electron.  相似文献

In the present study we give the results of the ab initio calculations on the vibronic, spin-orbit, and magnetic hyperfine structure in the X (2)Pi electronic state of the NCO radical. The calculations of the potential surfaces and the electronic mean values of the hyperfine coupling constants are carried out by means of the density functional theory approach (B3LYP functional combined with an atomic orbital basis set suitable for calculations of the hyperfine structure). The vibronic levels, spin-orbit splitting, and the vibronic mean values of the components of the hyperfine tensor in the vibronic species are calculated using a variational method. The results of the calculations are in good agreement with the available experimental data.  相似文献

We present the results of relativistic and non-relativistic self-consistent field and configuration interaction calculations for the gold atom, using the spin-free no-pair Hamiltonian in a basis set expansion. A new basis set for the gold atom is discussed and its results in relativistic and non-relativistic self-consistent field calculations are compared to those of numerical Dirac-Hartree-Focic and Hartree-Fock calculations, respectively. Excitation energies, electron affinities and ionization potentials were calculated using a multi-reference configuration interaction technique and are in reasonable agreement with experiment in the relativistic case.  相似文献

Semiempirical and ab initio calculations for the diphenylmethyl anion and related species are reported. MINDO/3 calculations indicate a coplanar anion with an enlarged bond angle of ~139° to counteract the steric repulsions. MNDO calculations reveal an expanded bond angle with somewhat greater twist (21°). The ab initio calculations (STO -3G level) reveal an expanded central bond angle with an intermediate degree of phenyl twist. Quantum mechanical single configurational coordinate (QMSCC) calculations have been performed on model phosphor systems. Variation of the QMSCC parameters provides information about the influence of these parameters on the temperature dependence of the luminescence efficiency. Photoelectron spectra of anionic clusters of silicon require reliable theoretical calculations for their assignment and interpretation. Electron propagator calculations in the outer valence Green's-function approximation with two well-characterized, all-electron basis sets on vertical electron detachment energies (VEDEs) of anions are compared to similar calculations that employ Stuttgart pseudopotentials. Tests on Si(n) (-) clusters with n=3-7 exhibit an encouraging agreement between the all-electron and pseudopotentials results and between electron propagator predictions and experiments and values obtained from coupled-cluster calculations. To illustrate the capabilities of the new approach based on a Si pseudopotential and electron propagator methods, VEDE calculations on Si(10) (-) are presented.  相似文献

The results of ab-initio self-consistent field calculations for the ground state and configuration interaction calculations for the excited states of the permanganate ion are presented and discussed. The calculations were performed using two large basis sets of contracted gaussian functions, and singly excited configurations were used in the calculations of the excited states.
