Current investigation is aimed to explore the influence of Zn2+ ion on structural, optical and dielectric characteristics of ammonium dihydrogen phosphate (ADP) crystal to explore its widespread suitability for photonic device applications. The slow solvent evaporation technique has been adopted to grow the Zn2+ ion influenced ADP (Zn-ADP) crystal. The energy dispersive spectroscopic technique has been employed to determine the constituent elements of Zn-ADP crystal. The optical transmittance of pure and Zn-ADP crystal has been examined within 200–1100 nm by means of UV–visible spectral analysis. The Kurtz–Perry test has been employed to determine the enhancement in second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of ADP crystal due to presence of Zn2+ ion. The SHG efficiency of Zn-ADP crystal is found to be 3.15 times greater than potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) and 1.79 times higher than ADP. The Z-scan analysis has been performed at 632.8 nm to study the third order nonlinear optical attributes (such as nonlinear refraction (n2), absorption (β) and cubic susceptibility (χ3)) of Zn-ADP crystal. Dielectric analysis has been carried out within the temperature range of 30 to 90 °C to evaluate the effect of Zn2+ ion on dielectric constant and dielectric loss of ADP crystal. The thermal stability of the grown crystal has been investigated within the temperature range of 40–500 °C. The application of developed Zn-ADP crystal for photonic devices has been discussed in vision of obtained results.  相似文献

Single crystal of potassium dichromate (KDC) has been grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique. The lattice parameters of the grown crystal were determined by X-ray diffraction analysis. The optical absorption studies reveal that the crystal has UV cut-off wavelength around 240 nm. Thermo gravimetric and differential thermal (TGA/DTA) studies revealed that the crystal thermally stable up to 397.1 °C. The mechanical strength of the grown crystal was carried out by Vickers micro hardness test. The crystal perfection was confirmed by etching studies. Third order nonlinear optical studies was performed using by single beam Z-scan technique using continuous Nd:YAG laser. Closed aperture Z-scan studies reveal the negative nonlinearity in the crystals and open aperture Z-scan reveals the saturation absorption. Also various parameters such as nonlinear refractive index n2, absorption co-efficient β and nonlinear optical susceptibility χ(3) were calculated for the grown crystal.  相似文献

A new organic nonlinear optical material 1-(4-fluorostyryl)-4-nitrostilbene (FNS) has been synthesized and single crystals of FNS were grown using solvent evaporation solution growth technique (SESGT) by 2-butanon solvent. Single crystal x-ray diffraction analysis reveals the unit cell parameters of the grown crystal are a = 9.494(4) Å, b = 9.864(2) Å, c = 19.501(7) Å and it belongs to monoclinic system with noncentrosymmetric space group. Optical transmittance of the grown crystal has been studied by UV-Vis-NIR spectrum. The optical properties of FNS have been studied by means of optical transmittance measurements in the wavelength range of 190–1100 nm The optical constants were calculated from the optical transmittance (T) data such as refractive index (n), extinction coefficient (k) and reflectance (R). The optical band gap (Eg) of FNS is 3.27 eV with direct transition. The complex dielectric (?) constant of the grown FNS crystal was determined. The second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of the grown FNS crystal has been studied by using Kurtz-Perry powder technique and it shows 12 times relatively greater than KDP.  相似文献

A new nonlinear optical (NLO) organic crystal 1-[4-({(E)-[4-(methylsulfanyl)phenyl]methylidene}amino)phenyl]ethanone (MMP) has been grown by slow evaporation technique at ambient temperature. The crystal structure of MMP was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. MMP crystallizes in non-centrosymmetric monoclinic system with space group P21. The FT-IR spectrum recorded for new crystal confirmed the presence of various functional groups in the material. MMP was found to be thermally stable up to 300 °C. The grown crystal was optically transparent in the wavelength range of 400–1100 nm. The second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of the crystal was measured by the classical powder technique using Nd:YAG laser and was found to be 4.13 times more efficient than reference material, urea. Third order nonlinear parameters were measured by employing the Z-scan technique. The laser damage threshold for MMP crystal was determined to be 4.26 GW/cm2. The Brewster angle technique was employed to measure the refractive index of the crystal and the values for green and red wavelengths were found to be 1.35 and 1.33, respectively. The dielectric and electrical measurements were carried out to study the different polarization mechanisms and conductivity of the crystal.  相似文献

An hybrid metal-organic framework formulated as 3[2(CH6N3)+.Cl4 Mn(II)] has been synthesized by reflux condensation method of reacting guanidinium carbonate with manganese chloride. From synthesized material, good quality of single crystals have been harvested by solvent evaporation technique and characterized by single crystal XRD (SCXRD), DT-TGA analysis, UV–visible spectroscopy and Z-Scan. SCXRD investigation establishes that grown crystal crystallizes in the monoclinic crystal system with space group P 21/c. The crystal structure features strong metal-organic frameworks through Mn-Cl bonds, it limits its coordination for three adjacently connected octahedrons and making a closed metal-chlorine volume. Thermal properties have been examined by differential thermal (DT) and thermogravimetric analysis (TGA). Temperature and frequency-dependent dielectric properties have been investigated by LCR meter. The existence of third order nonlinear optical susceptibility and intensity tunable optical limiting responses have been confirmed by the Z-scan technique.  相似文献

In order to reveal the optical limiting mechanisms of semiconductor hollow spheres, the nonlinear optical properties of CuS and Cu2O hollow spheres were investigated via the fluence-dependent transmittance and the nonlinear scattering measurements. The CuS and Cu2O hollow spheres have similar morphologies and different types of optical band-gap. The experimental results show that the optical limiting performance of CuS is better than that of Cu2O, although the nonlinear scattering of Cu2O is stronger than that of CuS. Free-carrier absorption based on the delocalized carriers (holes) in CuS is believed to play an important role in the optical limiting effects. The merits of the structure of semiconductor hollow spheres used for optical limiting were discussed.  相似文献

Single crystal of l-Asparagine Indium chloride (LAIn), a new semi-organic crystal was grown by slow evaporation method with deionized water as solvent at ambient condition. The crystal structure of LAIn has been determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction and the result shows that the crystal belongs to the orthorhombic system with P212121 space group. The crystalline nature of grown crystal was analyzed by powder X-ray diffraction analysis. Optical parameters, such as absorbance, transmittance and optical band gap energy were analyzed using UV–Vis NIR transmittance data at the range of 190–800?nm. The ultraviolet (UV) emission nature of the sample was established from the sharp emission peaks in photoluminescence (PL) spectrum. The photo conductivity test exhibits that the grown crystal has positive photo conductive nature. The induced surface laser damage threshold (LDT) for the grown crystal was measured using Nd:YAG laser. The nonlinear optical efficiency of the LAIn crystal was studied using modified Kurtz-Perry powder technique. The hardness, Meyer index, yield strength and elastic stiffness constant were calculated for the grown crystal using Vickers microhardness tester. The variation of dielectric constant and dielectric loss of the grown crystals as a function of frequency has been investigated at different temperatures. The melting point and thermal stability of the LAIn single crystal have been studied by thermo gravimetric analysis and differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA).  相似文献

L-histidinium Fumarate Fumaric acid Monohydrate (LHFFAM), an organic nonlinear optical single crystal[C14H19N3O11], has been synthesized and grown using aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique at room temperature. Crystal structure details were obtained from single crystal XRD. The coordination of functional groups was identified in the grown crystal by FTIR analysis. The UV-absorption studies evince the transparent nature of the crystal is in the visible region and the optical band gap energy Eg was evaluated. The TG/DSC analyses confirm the thermal stability for the as-grown crystal. The Vickers microhardness test was carried out on the grown crystals and there by Vickers hardness number (Hv), work hardening coefficient (n), yield strength (σy), stiffness constant C11 were evaluated. The dielectric behaviour of LHFFAM has been determined in the frequency range 50 Hz to 5 MHz at various temperatures. Kurtz-Perry and Z-scan techniques were performed for the acentric crystal LHFFAM which highlighted good nonlinear response and hence proves it appropriate for frequency conversion process and photonic device fabrications.  相似文献

利用超短脉冲Z扫描技术和光学Kerr效应研究了以巯基丙酸为稳定剂的CdTe量子点水溶液的三阶光学非线性极化特性. 在532nm,30ps和800nm,130fs脉冲激光激发下, 发现分别具有正负相反取值的三阶光学非线性折射率,自由载流子吸收和双光子吸收分别是这两种脉冲激光激发下三阶光学非线性吸收的起因. 测量得到CdTe量子点的三阶光学非线性极化率约为CS2的32倍, 在520—700nm光谱区的CdTe量子点的光学响应时间小于400fs. 关键词: CdTe量子点(QDs) Z扫描 三阶光学非线性极化特性 双光子吸收  相似文献

In the present study, an amino acid derivatives, L-alanine (LA) and Bismuth nitrate-doped L-alanine (BNLA) crystals were grown by the slow evaporation technique. The crystal structure and quality of the grown crystal were examined by single-crystal X-ray diffraction (XRD) and powder XRD. The X-ray diffraction analysis of LA and BNLA crystals confirmed the orthorhombic crystal system without any internal structural grain boundaries. The optical properties of the LA and BNLA crystals have been determined using UV-Visible spectroscopy and Photoluminescence (PL). The second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of the crystal was measured using Kurtz powder technique. The dielectric constant measurement was performed at room temperature for different frequencies. Photoconductivity tests show that the LA and BNLA crystals have negative photoconductivity value. On testing of the retentivity or remanent magnetization, the BNLA crystal has increased values as compared to the pure LA crystals, in addition to the observation of changes in coercivity. Further, the observation of maximum intensity peak for the BNLA crystal at 346.9 nm pointed out that the crystal has blue fluorescence emission. The third-order nonlinear optical properties of the grown crystal were studied using Z-scan technique. The enhancement in nonlinear refractive index and third-order NLO susceptibility value shows that the grown BNLA crystals may be of good quality and less in defect than that of pure LA crystals.  相似文献

The principal refractive indices of L-lysine monohydrochloride dihydrate (L-LMHCl) single crystal for different wavelengths were measured by minimum deviation method at room temperature. The experimental values of refractive indices fit well with the theoretical Cauchy's equations. The birefringence and the crossing angle between the optical axes were calculated. The parameters of Sellmeier's single term dispersion equation were determined by least square method. A simple interferometric technique was used to observe the interference patterns along the optic plane and to qualitatively analyze the optical homogeneity of the grown crystal. The nonlinear refractive index (n2) and nonlinear absorption coefficient (β) were also determined using Z-scan technique. The piezoelectric resonance in dielectric dispersions was observed at room temperature.  相似文献

Gamma bis glycinium oxalate (GBGOx) crystal was synthesized and grown by slow evaporation solution technique. The structure of pure GBGOx crystal has been examined by single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis. The confirmation with single crystal XRD reveals that the crystal belongs to monoclinic system with space group C2. The FTIR spectrum was recorded to identify the expected functional groups. UV–vis-spectrum shows the lower cut off wavelength and 80% of transmittance in the UV–vis region. The photoluminescence measurement shows that the material is suitable for photonic devices. Preliminary measurement of green light emission using Kurtz powder technique indicates that their second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency. The microhardness analysis revealed that the grown crystal belongs to soft material category. The encouraging results show that the GBGOx crystals have great potential applications in optical devices.  相似文献

Semi-organic nonlinear optical single crystals of pure, Ni2+ and Cd2+ doped L-Lysine monohydrochloride dihydrate (L-LMHCl) were grown from aqueous solution by slow evaporation technique. Single crystal X-ray diffraction analysis reveal that the pure and doped L-LMHCl crystals belong to monoclinic system with the space group P21. The presence of functional groups present in the pure and doped crystals was determined qualitatively by using Fourier Transform Infrared (FTIR) spectroscopy. Optical absorption studies reveal very low absorption for the doped crystal than that of the pure crystal. Dielectric studies have been carried out for the grown crystals and the results were discussed in detail.  相似文献

The third-order nonlinear optical properties of solution-grown methyl-p-hydroxy benzoate (MHB) single crystals were studied by Z-scan technique using a He-Ne (632.8 nm, 30 mW) laser. From the closed aperture Z-scan data, the valley followed by peak on the normalized transmittance indicates the sign of the nonlinear refractive index is positive and shows a self focusing nature. From the open aperture Z-scan curve, it is found that the nonlinear absorption is due to saturation. The order of magnitude of third order susceptibility was estimated to be 10?6 esu. UV-Vis-NIR spectrum of MHB single crystal reveals a very low cutoff wavelength (310 nm) and transparency in the entire visible region. Also the material has direct allowed transition and it possesses a band gap of 3.7 eV. The dissipation factor is low and SHG efficiency is high. The higher magnitudes of second and third order NLO parameters make the material suitable for photonic applications like frequency conversion and eye/sensor protection.  相似文献

Benzimidazole (BMZ) is an organic nonlinear optical material, and it is possible to grow it in the laboratory by a slow evaporation solution growth technique using methanol as the solvent. Its nonlinear optical harmonic generation efficiency is 4.5 times higher than that of standard potassium dihydrogen phosphate (KDP) single crystal. It crystallizes with orthorhombic structure, which is noncentrosymmetric in nature, with lattice parameters a=13.58 Å, b=6.85 Å, c=6.97 Å. The functional groups of the grown specimen are confirmed by heteronuclear chemical shift correlation (HETCOR) analysis and it is found that other elements are not incorporated in the compound. The crystalline perfection is examined by high resolution X-ray diffraction (HRXRD), and its topographic image was recorded for the as-grown single crystal indicates the presence of some grain boundaries in the grown specimen. Thermal parameters such as thermal diffusivity (α), thermal conductivity (k), thermal effusivity (e), and heat capacity (c p ) have been determined by a photopyroelectric thermal wave method. In addition, piezoelectricity, birefringence, and third-order nonlinear optical properties have been examined. The two-photon absorption coefficient of the title compound is determined by the open-aperture Z-scan technique.  相似文献

Single crystals of guanidinium 4-nitrobenzoate (GuNB) were grown using solvent evaporation technique by mixing aqueous solutions of guanidine carbonate and 4-nitrobenzoic acid at ambient temperature. X-ray diffraction analysis characterized the unit cell parameters of the grown crystal and the crystal belongs to monoclinic system. The optical properties of the grown crystal have been studied by means of transmission measurements in the wavelength region between 200 and 1200 nm. The optical constants such as refractive index (n) and extinction coefficient (k) have been determined from the transmittance data. The optical band gap (Eg), the real and imaginary parts of the dielectric constant of the grown crystal was determined. Second harmonic generation (SHG) efficiency of the grown crystal has been studied using Nd:YAG laser and was measured as 3.2 times that of KDP. The low dielectric constant suggests the suitability of this compound material for NLO applications.  相似文献

The optical nonlinearities of Cu(mpo)2 [formula = C10H8N2CuO2S2] complex have firstly been investigated by using the Z-scan technique with a nanosecond-pulsed Nd:YAG laser at its second harmonic (532 nm) radiation. The nonlinear optical absorption and refraction coefficients of Cu(mpo)2 have been measured with the different on-axial peak irradiances I 0 at the waist ranging from 0.48 to 5.66 GW/cm2. The nonlinear transmittance characteristics exhibit the near resonant two-photon absorption (TPA) at 532 nm and are explained by a population redistribution model. The nonlinear absorption originates from the near resonant TPA while the mechanism of the nonlinear refraction is the near resonant TPA transition enhancement. The linear increasing dependences of the optical nonlinearities on the incident irradiance arise from the population redistribution due to the near resonant TPA.  相似文献

Organic compound of protonated Piperazinediium bis (4-aminobenzoate) dihydrate C4H12N22+2(C7H6NO2).2(H2O) (PZ4AB) was synthesized and crystal was grown by slow evaporation solution growth technique. Powder X-ray diffraction and High resolution X-ray diffraction studies affirmed the crystalline perfection of the grown crystal. Fourier transform infrared spectral analysis ascertained the frequencies of various functional groups present in PZ4AB crystal. Optical transmittance and optical band gap estimation explored the optical phenomena of PZ4AB crystal. The laser-induced surface damage threshold value of PZ4AB crystal was measured to be 1.0615 GW/cm2 for the 1064 nm Nd:YAG laser radiation. From Thermogravimetric and differential scanning calorimetric studies, the stability of PZ4AB crystal was ascertained. The dielectric manner was endowed as a function of frequency and temperature. The mechanically soft nature of the crystal was assessed by Vickers hardness measurement which exhibited the reverse indentation size effect. The nonlinear refractive index, absorption coefficient and the third-order nonlinear susceptibility of crystal were divulged by Z-scan technique.  相似文献

以532nm皮秒脉冲作抽运光,采用单光束Z-扫描技术对具有激发态分子内质子转移效应的有机分子2-(2′-羟基苯基)苯并噻唑(HBT)在其双光子吸收区的非线性光学特性进行了研究.实验结果表明,对532nm波长的光,HBT分子存在明显的双光子吸收.通过拟合开孔Z-扫描实验数据,求解了HBT分子在其双光子吸收区的非线性吸收系数,并探讨了抽运光强度对介质双光子吸收效应的影响.采用高斯分解法,通过拟合闭孔Z-扫描除以开孔Z-扫描数据,理论推导并计算了在介质对抽运光存在非线性吸收的情况下HBT分子的非线性折射率,以及不同入射光强度时HBT分子的三阶非线性极化率实部和虚部的值.计算结果表明,理论分析与实验结果较好地符合,这些结果为进一步研究和开发此类材料的应用提供了理论与实验依据.  相似文献
