For any set X and any relation ρ on X, let T(X,ρ) be the semigroup of all maps a:XX that preserve ρ. Let S(X) be the symmetric group on X. If ρ is reflexive, the group of automorphisms of T(X,ρ) is isomorphic to NS(X)(T(X,ρ)), the normalizer of T(X,ρ) in S(X), that is, the group of permutations on X that preserve T(X,ρ) under conjugation. The elements of NS(X)(T(X,ρ)) have been described for the class of so-called dense relations ρ. The paper is dedicated to applications of this result.  相似文献

Let G be a connected simple graph, let X?V (G) and let f be a mapping from X to the set of integers. When X is an independent set, Frank and Gyárfás, and independently, Kaneko and Yoshimoto gave a necessary and sufficient condition for the existence of spanning tree T in G such that d T (x) for all xX, where d T (x) is the degree of x and T. In this paper, we extend this result to the case where the subgraph induced by X has no induced path of order four, and prove that there exists a spanning tree T in G such that d T (x) ≥ f(x) for all xX if and only if for any nonempty subset S ? X, |N G (S) ? S| ? f(S) + 2|S| ? ω G (S) ≥, where ω G (S) is the number of components of the subgraph induced by S.  相似文献

The relative cohomology Hdiff1(K(1|3), osp(2, 3);Dγ,µ(S1|3)) of the contact Lie superalgebra K(1|3) with coefficients in the space of differential operators Dγ,µ(S1|3) acting on tensor densities on S1|3, is calculated in N.Ben Fraj, I. Letq be a power of 2 at least equal to 8 and ζ be a primitiveq-th root of unity, and letK be any field of characteristic zero. We define the group of special projective conormsS K as a quotient of the group of elements ofK(ζ) of norm 1:S K is obviously trival if the groul Gal (K(ζ)/K) is cyclic. We prove that for some fieldsK, the groupS K is finite, and it is even trivial for certain fields such as ? or ?(X 1,...,X m). We then prove that the groupS K completely paramatrizes the cycle extensions ofK of degreeq. We exhibit an explicit polynomial defined over ?(T 0,...,T q/2) which parametrizes all cyclic extensions ofK of degreeq associated to the trivial element ofS K. In particular, this polynomial parametrizes all cyclic extensions ofK of degreeq whenever the groupS K is trivial.  相似文献

Let Rn be the range of a random sample X1,…,Xn of exponential random variables with hazard rate λ. Let Sn be the range of another collection Y1,…,Yn of mutually independent exponential random variables with hazard rates λ1,…,λn whose average is λ. Finally, let r and s denote the reversed hazard rates of Rn and Sn, respectively. It is shown here that the mapping t?s(t)/r(t) is increasing on (0,) and that as a result, Rn=X(n)X(1) is smaller than Sn=Y(n)Y(1) in the likelihood ratio ordering as well as in the dispersive ordering. As a further consequence of this fact, X(n) is seen to be more stochastically increasing in X(1) than Y(n) is in Y(1). In other words, the pair (X(1),X(n)) is more dependent than the pair (Y(1),Y(n)) in the monotone regression dependence ordering. The latter finding extends readily to the more general context where X1,…,Xn form a random sample from a continuous distribution while Y1,…,Yn are mutually independent lifetimes with proportional hazard rates.  相似文献

Let k1 ? k2? ? ? kn be given positive integers and let S denote the set of vectors x = (x1, x2, … ,xn) with integer components satisfying 0 ? x1 ? kni = 1, 2, …, n. Let X be a subset of S (l)X denotes the subset of X consisting of vectors with component sum l; F(m, X) denotes the lexicographically first m vectors of X; ?X denotes the set of vectors in S obtainable by subtracting 1 from a component of a vector in X; |X| is the number of vectors in X. In this paper it is shown that |?F(e, (l)S)| is an increasing function of l for fixed e and is a subadditive function of e for fixed l.  相似文献

Let X be a complex analytic manifold. Consider S?M?Xreal analytic submonifolds with codium R MS=1,and let ω be a connected component of M\S. Let p∈S XMTM *X where T* Xdenotes the conormal bundle to M in X, and denote by ν(p) the complex radial Euler field at p. Denote by μ*(Ox) (for * = M, ω) the microlocalization of the sheaf of holomorphic functions along *.

Under the assumption dimR(TpTM *X? ν(p)) = 1, a theorem of vanishing for the cohomology groups HjμM(Ox)p is proved in [K-S 1, Prop. 11.3.1], j being related to the number of positive and negative eigenvalue for the Levi form of M.

Under the hypothesis dimR(TpTS *X∩ν(p))=1, a similar result is proved here for the cohomology groups of the complex of microfunctions at the boundary μω(Ox).Stating this result in terms of regularity at the boundary for CR–hyperfunctions a local Bochner–type theorem is then obtained.  相似文献

Let X be a finite CW complex, and ρ: π 1(X) → GL(l, ?) a representation. Any cohomology class αH 1(X, ?) gives rise to a deformation γ t of ρ defined by γ t (g) = ρ(g) exp(tα, g〉). We show that the cohomology of X with local coefficients γ gen corresponding to the generic point of the curve γ is computable from a spectral sequence starting from H*(X, ρ). We compute the differentials of the spectral sequence in terms of the Massey products and show that the spectral sequence degenerates in case when X is a Kähler manifold and ρ is semi-simple. If αH 1(X, ?) one associates to the triple (X, ρ, α) the twisted Novikov homology (a module over the Novikov ring). We show that the twisted Novikov Betti numbers equal the Betti numbers of X with coefficients in the local system γ gen. We investigate the dependence of these numbers on α and prove that they are constant in the complement to a finite number of proper vector subspaces in H 1(X, ?).  相似文献

We prove the quantum filtration on the Khovanov-Rozansky link cohomology Hp with a general degree (n+1) monic potential polynomial p(x) is invariant under Reidemeister moves, and construct a spectral sequence converging to Hp that is invariant under Reidemeister moves, whose E1 term is isomorphic to the Khovanov-Rozansky sl(n)-cohomology Hn. Then we define a generalization of the Rasmussen invariant, and study some of its properties. We also discuss relations between upper bounds of the self-linking number of transversal links in standard contact S3.  相似文献

Let X be an infinite dimensional real reflexive Banach space with dual space X and GX, open and bounded. Assume that X and X are locally uniformly convex. Let T:XD(T)→2X be maximal monotone and strongly quasibounded, S:XD(S)→X maximal monotone, and C:XD(C)→X strongly quasibounded w.r.t. S and such that it satisfies a generalized (S+)-condition w.r.t. S. Assume that D(S)=LD(T)∩D(C), where L is a dense subspace of X, and 0∈T(0),S(0)=0. A new topological degree theory is introduced for the sum T+S+C, with degree mapping d(T+S+C,G,0). The reason for this development is the creation of a useful tool for the study of a class of time-dependent problems involving three operators. This degree theory is based on a degree theory that was recently developed by Kartsatos and Skrypnik just for the single-valued sum S+C, as above.  相似文献

Let S = (1/n) Σt=1n X(t) X(t)′, where X(1), …, X(n) are p × 1 random vectors with mean zero. When X(t) (t = 1, …, n) are independently and identically distributed (i.i.d.) as multivariate normal with mean vector 0 and covariance matrix Σ, many authors have investigated the asymptotic expansions for the distributions of various functions of the eigenvalues of S. In this paper, we will extend the above results to the case when {X(t)} is a Gaussian stationary process. Also we shall derive the asymptotic expansions for certain functions of the sample canonical correlations in multivariate time series. Applications of some of the results in signal processing are also discussed.  相似文献

The present paper considers the existence of continuous roots of algebraic equations with coefficients being continuous functions defined on compact Hausdorff spaces. For a compact Hausdorff space X, C(X) denotes the Banach algebra of all continuous complex-valued functions on X with the sup norm ∥⋅. The algebra C(X) is said to be algebraically closed if each monic algebraic equation with C(X) coefficients has a root in C(X). First we study a topological characterization of a first-countable compact (connected) Hausdorff space X such that C(X) is algebraically closed. The result has been obtained by Countryman Jr, Hatori-Miura and Miura-Niijima and we provide a simple proof for metrizable spaces. Also we consider continuous approximate roots of the equation znf=0 with respect to z, where fC(X), and provide a topological characterization of compact Hausdorff space X with dimX?1 such that the above equation has an approximate root in C(X) for each fC(X), in terms of the first ?ech cohomology of X.  相似文献

Let G be a finite group. To each permutation representation (G, X) of G and class function χ of G we associate the χ-characteristic polynomialgχ(x) of (G, X) which is a polynomial in one variable with complex numbers as coefficients. The coefficients of gχ(x) are investigated in terms of the “exterior powers” of (G, X). If χ is the principal character 1G of G, the coefficients of gχ(x) are non-negative integers; and if furthermore G has odd order, the kth coefficient is the number of orbits of G acting on the subsets of X with k elements. Quadratic and linear relations among the exterior powers of (G, X) have been derived and it is shown how the polynomial gχ(x) can be computed from the cycle index of (G, X).  相似文献

Let Λ be a commutative local uniserial ring with radical factor field k. We consider the category S(Λ) of embeddings of all possible submodules of finitely generated Λ-modules. In case Λ=Z/〈pn〉, where p is a prime, the problem of classifying the objects in S(Λ), up to isomorphism, has been posed by Garrett Birkhoff in 1934. In this paper we assume that Λ has Loewy length at least seven. We show that S(Λ) is controlled k-wild with a single control object IS(Λ). It follows that each finite dimensional k-algebra can be realized as a quotient End(X)/End(X)I of the endomorphism ring of some object XS(Λ) modulo the ideal End(X)I of all maps which factor through a finite direct sum of copies of I.  相似文献

Let X={X(s)}sS be an almost sure continuous stochastic process (S compact subset of Rd) in the domain of attraction of some max-stable process, with index function constant over S. We study the tail distribution of ∫SX(s)ds, which turns out to be of Generalized Pareto type with an extra ‘spatial’ parameter (the areal coefficient from Coles and Tawn (1996) [3]). Moreover, we discuss how to estimate the tail probability P(∫SX(s)ds>x) for some high value x, based on independent and identically distributed copies of X. In the course we also give an estimator for the areal coefficient. We prove consistency of the proposed estimators. Our methods are applied to the total rainfall in the North Holland area; i.e. X represents in this case the rainfall over the region for which we have observations, and its integral amounts to total rainfall. The paper has two main purposes: first to formalize and justify the results of Coles and Tawn (1996) [3]; further we treat the problem in a non-parametric way as opposed to their fully parametric methods.  相似文献

Let (X, d X ) and (Y,d Y ) be pointed compact metric spaces with distinguished base points e X and e Y . The Banach algebra of all $\mathbb{K}$ -valued Lipschitz functions on X — where $\mathbb{K}$ is either?or ? — that map the base point e X to 0 is denoted by Lip0(X). The peripheral range of a function f ∈ Lip0(X) is the set Ranµ(f) = {f(x): |f(x)| = ‖f} of range values of maximum modulus. We prove that if T 1, T 2: Lip0(X) → Lip0(Y) and S 1, S 2: Lip0(X) → Lip0(X) are surjective mappings such that $Ran_\pi (T_1 (f)T_2 (g)) \cap Ran_\pi (S_1 (f)S_2 (g)) \ne \emptyset $ for all f, g ∈ Lip0(X), then there are mappings φ1φ2: Y $\mathbb{K}$ with φ1(y2(y) = 1 for all y ∈ Y and a base point-preserving Lipschitz homeomorphism ψ: YX such that T j (f)(y) = φ j (y)S j (f)(ψ(y)) for all f ∈ Lip0(X), yY, and j = 1, 2. In particular, if S 1 and S 2 are identity functions, then T 1 and T 2 are weighted composition operators.  相似文献

We construct a functor AC(?, ?) from the category of path connected spaces X with a base point x to the category of simply connected spaces. The following are the main results of the paper: (i) If X is a Peano continuum then AC(X, x) is a cell-like Peano continuum; (ii) If X is n-dimensional then AC(X, x) is (n + 1)?dimensional; and (iii) For a path connected space X, π 1(X, x) is trivial if and only if π 2(AC(X, x)) is trivial. As a corollary, AC(S 1, x) is a 2-dimensional nonaspherical cell-like Peano continuum.  相似文献
