This paper investigates the large-time behavior of solutions to an outflow problem for a compressible non-Newtonian fluid in a half space. The main concern is to analyze the phenomena that happens when the compressible non-Newtonian fluid blows out through the boundary. Based on the existence of the stationary solution, it is proved that there exists a boundary layer(i.e., the stationary solution) to the outflow problem and the boundary layer is nonlinearly stable under small initial perturbation.  相似文献

The steady state boundary layer equations around rotating pure hydrocarbon droplet are solved numerically. The droplet is simulated to behave as a hard sphere. The transfer equations are discretized using an implicit finite difference method where Thomas algorithm solves the system of algebraic equations. Moreover, dimensionless parameters of heat and mass transfer phenomena around a rotating hexane droplet concluded. The thickness of the boundary layer is unknown for this model and therefore, it is determined. Further, this work proposes correlations of Nusselt and Sherwood numbers for monocomponent hydrocarbon droplets in evaporation. These correlations consider the rotation phenomena and further, the variation of the thermophysical and transport properties in the vapour phase.  相似文献

A generalisation of the usual free and fixed-face boundary conditions for an elastic layer is considered. Specifically, this is in the context of a linear isotropic elastic layer and involves an investigation into long-wave motion. Elastically restrained boundary conditions are introduced, with both a numerical investigation and a multi-parameter asymptotic analysis employed to elucidate dispersion phenomena in a layer subject to such boundary conditions. The characteristics of mode transformations associated with the change from traction-free to fixed-face boundary conditions are described, focusing particularly on the fundamental modes which are known to not occur in the case of fixed faces. All possible asymptotic regimes are grouped into six classes, with the corresponding expansions of frequency in respect of wave number derived.  相似文献

A method for the separate construction of the main stress-strain state (the internal calculation) and the boundary corrections (the boundary calculations) are discussed in the case of a linear static problem in the theory of shells and plates. It is assumed that the internal calculation is carried out using an iterative process based on the Kirchhoff-Love theory. The boundary calculation involves the construction of antiplane and plane boundary layers, that is, in the initial approximation they reduce to the solution of antiplane and plane problems in the theory of elasticity.

Investigation of the asymptotic behaviour of the boundary corrections shows that near a weakly clamped edge only the correction from the antiplane boundary layer is important and that near a fairly rigidly clamped edge only the correction from the plane boundary layer is important.

The advisability of the use of the shear theory of the bending of plates for investigating boundary elastic phenomena is discussed from the point of view of the results obtained. It is shown that, close to the free edge, its use is justified and is adequate for the method described in the paper both with regard to the numerical results and with regard to the nature of the mathematical apparatus. As a method for investigating boundary elastic phenomena, shear theories lose their meaning close to a fairly rigidly clamped edge since they only enable one to construct the minor part of the correction asymptotically.  相似文献
