Among three cyclopentadienyl titanium complexes studied, CpTiCl2(OEt), containing a 5% excess CpTiCl3, has proven to be a very efficient catalyst for the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of L ‐lactide (LLA) in toluene at 130 °C. Kinetic studies revealed that the polymerization yield (up to 100%) and the molecular weight increase linearly with time, leading to well‐defined PLLA with narrow molecular weight distributions (Mw/Mn ≤ 1.1). Based on the above results, PS‐b‐PLLA, PI‐b‐PLLA, PEO‐b‐PLLA block copolymers, and a PS‐b‐PI‐b‐PLLA triblock terpolymer were synthesized. The synthetic strategy involved: (a) the preparation of OH‐end‐functionalized homopolymers or diblock copolymers by anionic polymerization, (b) the reaction of the OH‐functionalized polymers with CpTiCl3 to give the corresponding Ti‐macrocatalyst, and (c) the ROP of LLA to afford the final block copolymers. PMMA‐g‐PLLA [PMMA: poly(methyl methacrylate)] was also synthesized by: (a) the reaction of CpTiCl3 with 2‐hydroxy ethyl methacrylate, HEMA, to give the Ti‐HEMA‐catalyst, (b) the ROP of LLA to afford a PLLA methacrylic‐macromonomer, and (c) the copolymerization (conventional and ATRP) of the macromonomer with MMA to afford the final graft copolymer. Intermediate and final products were characterized by NMR spectroscopy and size exclusion chromatography, equipped with refractive index and two‐angle laser light scattering detectors. © 2010 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Tetracloro-o-benzoquinone reacts with (diphenylacetylene)bis(tirphenylphosphine)platinum(0) to give the novel platinum(II) diphenylacetylene complex, Pt(C6Cl4O2)PhCCPh)(PPh3), (I), which reacts with hydrogen halides to give the compelexes cis-PtX2(PhCCPh((PPh3), (X = Cl or Br). Hydrogen chloride also readily removes the tetrachloro-o-benzoquinoneligand from the adducts Ni(C6Cl4O2)(Ph2PCH2CH2PPh2) and M(C6Cl4O2)(PPh3)2, (M = Pd or Pt) but it has no reaction upon Ir(Cl)(C6Cl4O2)(CO)(PPh3)2 at room temperature. The acetylene in (1) is susceptible to nucleophilic attact and reaction with diethylamine gives the vinyl adduct Pt(C6Cl4O2)(CPhCPh)NHEt2)(PPh3). Other reactions of (I) have also been studied. Attemps to prepare other olefin or acetylene complexes of platinum(II) by the action of tetrachlor-o-benzoquinone on the complexes Pt(L)(PPh3)2, (L = PhCCH,(Et)(Me)(HO)CCCC(OH)(Me)(Et), HOCH2OH, CF3CCCF3, CF2CF2, CF2CH2 or trans-PhCHCHPh) are also described.  相似文献

Poly(ethylene oxide) methyl ether/polystyrene/poly(l-lactide) (MPEO/PSt/PLLA) ABC miktoarm star copolymers were synthesized by combination of reversible addition-fragmentation transfer (RAFT) polymerization and ring-opening polymerization (ROP) using bifunctional macro-transfer agent, MPEO with two terminal dithiobenzoate and hydroxyl groups. It was prepared by reaction of MPEO with maleic anhydride (MAh), subsequently reacted with dithiobenzoic acid and ethylene oxide. RAFT polymerization of St at 110 °C yielded block copolymer, MPEO-b-PSt [(MPEO)(PSt)CH2OH], and then it was used to initiate the polymerization of l-lactide in the presence of Sn(OCt)2 at 115 °C to produce ABC miktoarm star polymers, s-[(MPEO)(PSt)(PLLA)]. The structures of products obtained at each synthetic step were confirmed by NMR and gel permeation chromatography data.  相似文献

The tadpole‐shaped copolymers polystyrene (PS)‐b‐[cyclic poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO)] [PS‐b‐(c‐PEO)] contained linear tail chains of PS and cyclic head chains of PEO were synthesized by combination of Glaser coupling with living anionic polymerization (LAP) and ring‐opening polymerization (ROP). First, the functionalized polystyrene‐glycerol (PS‐Gly) with two active hydroxyl groups at ω end was synthesized by LAP of St and the subsequent capping with 1‐ethoxyethyl glycidyl ether and then deprotection of protected hydroxyl group in acid condition. Then, using PS‐Gly as macroinitiator, the ROP of EO was performed using diphenylmethylpotassium as cocatalyst for AB2 star‐shaped copolymers PS‐b‐(PEO‐OH)2, and the alkyne group was introduced onto PEO arm end for PS‐b‐(PEO‐Alkyne)2. Finally, the intramolecular cyclization was performed by Glaser coupling reaction in pyridine/Cu(I)Br/N,N,N′,N″,N″‐pentamethyldiethylenetriamine system under room temperature, and tadpole‐shaped PS‐b‐(c‐PEO) was formed. The target copolymers and their intermediates were well characterized by size‐exclusion chromatography, proton nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy, and fourier transform infrared spectroscopy in details. The thermal properties was also determined and compared to investigate the influence of architecture on properties. The results showed that tadpole‐shaped copolymers had lower Tm, Tc, and Xc than that of their precursors of AB2 star‐shaped copolymers. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Amphiphilic, biocompatible poly(N‐vinylpyrrolidone)‐b‐poly(l ‐lactide) (PVP‐b‐PLLA) block polymers were synthesized at 60 °C using a hydroxyl‐functionalized N,N‐diphenyldithiocarbamate reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) agent, 2‐hydroxyethyl 2‐(N,N‐diphenylcarbamothioylthio)propanoate (HDPCP), as a dual initiator for RAFT polymerization and ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) in a one‐step procedure. 4‐Dimethylamino pyridine was used as the ROP catalyst for l ‐lactide. The two polymerization reactions proceeded in a controlled manner, but their polymerization rates were affected by the other polymerization process. This one‐step procedure is believed to be the most convenient method for synthesizing PVP‐b‐PLLA block copolymers. HDPCP can also be used for the one‐step synthesis of poly(N‐vinylcarbazole)‐b‐PLLA block copolymers. © 2014 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Polym. Sci., Part A: Polym. Chem. 2014 , 52, 1607–1613  相似文献

Heteroarm H‐shaped terpolymers (PS)(PtBA)–PEO–(PtBA)(PS) and (PS)(PtBA)–PPO–(PtBA)(PS) [where PS is polystyrene, PtBA is poly(tert‐butyl acrylate), PEO is poly(ethylene oxide), and PPO is poly(propylene oxide)], containing PEO or PPO as a backbone and PS and PtBA as side arms, were prepared via the combination of the Diels–Alder reaction and atom transfer radical and nitroxide‐mediated radical polymerization routes. Commercially available PEO or PPO containing bismaleimide end groups was reacted with a compound having an anthracene functionality, succinic acid anthracen‐9‐yl methyl ester 3‐(2‐bromo‐2‐methylpropionyloxy)‐2‐methyl‐2‐[2‐phenyl‐2‐(2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidin‐1‐yloxy)ethoxycarbonyl]propyl ester, with a Diels–Alder reaction strategy. The obtained macroinitiator with tertiary bromide and 2,2,6,6‐tetramethylpiperidin‐1‐oxy functional end groups was used subsequently in the atom transfer radical polymerization of tert‐butyl acrylate and in the nitroxide‐mediated free‐radical polymerization of styrene to produce heteroarm H‐shaped terpolymers with moderately low molecular weight distributions (<1.31). The polymers were characterized with 1H NMR, ultraviolet, gel permeation chromatography, and differential scanning calorimetry. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. Poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) with dithiocarbamate chain ends (PEO–SC(=S)?N(CH3)Ph and PEO–SC(=S)?NPh2, named PEO‐1 and PEO‐2 , respectively) were used as macromolecular chain‐transfer agents (macro‐CTAs) to mediate the reversible addition–fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of ethylene in dimethyl carbonate (DMC) under relatively mild conditions (80 °C, 80 bar). While only a slow consumption of PEO‐1 was observed, the rapid consumption of PEO‐2 led to a clean chain extension and the formation of a polyethylene (PE) segment. Upon polymerization, the resulting block copolymers PEO‐b‐PE self‐assembled into nanometric objects according to a polymerization‐induced self‐assembly (PISA).  相似文献

A series of well‐defined ABC 3‐Miktoarm star‐shaped terpolymers [Poly(styrene)‐Poly(ethylene oxide)‐Poly(ε‐caprolactone)](PS‐PEO‐PCL) with different molecular weight was synthesized by combination of the “living” anionic polymerization with the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) using macro‐initiator strategy. Firstly, the “living” poly(styryl)lithium (PS?Li+) species were capped by 1‐ethoxyethyl glycidyl ether(EEGE) quantitatively and the PS‐EEGE with an active and an ethoxyethyl‐protected hydroxyl group at the same end was obtained. Then, using PS‐EEGE and diphenylmethylpotassium (DPMK) as coinitiator, the diblock copolymers of (PS‐b‐PEO)p with the ethoxyethyl‐protected hydroxyl group at the junction point were achieved by the ROP of EO and the subsequent termination with bromoethane. The diblock copolymers of (PS‐b‐PEO)d with the active hydroxyl group at the junction point were recovered via the cleavage of ethoxyethyl group on (PS‐b‐PEO)p by acidolysis and saponification successively. Finally, the copolymers (PS‐b‐PEO)d served as the macro‐initiator for ROP of ε‐CL in the presence of tin(II)‐bis(2‐ethylhexanoate)(Sn(Oct)2) and the star(PS‐PEO‐PCL) terpolymers were obtained. The target terpolymers and the intermediates were well characterized by 1H‐NMR, MALDI‐TOF MS, FTIR, and SEC. © 2007 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The ABCD 4‐miktoarm star polymers based on polystyrene (PS), poly(ε‐caprolactone) (PCL), poly(methyl acrylate) (PMA), and poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) were synthesized and characterized successfully. Using the mechanism transformation strategy, PS with three different functional groups (i.e., hydroxyl, alkyne, and trithiocarbonate), PS‐HEPPA‐SC(S)SC12H25, was synthesized by the reaction of the trithiocarbonate‐terminated PS with 2‐hydroxyethyl‐3‐(4‐(prop‐2‐ynyloxy)phenyl) acrylate (HEPPA) in tetrahydrofuran (THF) solution. Subsequently, the ring‐opening polymerization (ROP) of ε‐caprolactone (CL) was carried out in the presence of stannous(II) 2‐ethylhexanoate and PS‐HEPPA‐SC(S)SC12H25, and then the PS‐HEPPA(PCL)‐SC(S)SC12H25 obtained was used in reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization of methyl acrylate (MA) to produce the ABC 3‐miktoarm star polymer, S(PS)(PCL)(PMA) carrying an alkyne group. The ABCD 4‐miktoarm star polymer, S(PS)(PCL)(PMA)(PEO) was successfully prepared by click reaction of the alkyne group on the HEPPA unit with azide‐terminated PEO (PEO‐N3). The target polymer and intermediates were characterized by NMR, FTIR, GPC, and DSC. © 2008 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 46: 6641–6653, 2008  相似文献

The dendrimer‐like copolymers [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]n (n ≥ 2) based on the star[Polystyrene‐Poly(ethylene oxide)‐Poly(ethoxyethyl glycidyl ether)] [star(PS‐PEO‐(PEEGE‐OH))] terpolymers were synthesized by click chemistry. First, the star‐shaped copolymers star[PS‐PEO‐(PEEGE‐Alkyne)] (also termed as [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]1) were synthesized by the reaction of hydroxyl end group at PEEGE arm (on star[PS‐PEO‐(PEEGE‐OH)]) with propargyl bromide. Then, the small molecule 1,4‐diazidobutane (DAB) with two azide groups and pentaerythritol tetrakis (2‐azidoisobutyrate) (PTAB) with four azide groups were synthesized and reacted with [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]1 by the click chemistry for dendrimer‐like [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]2 and [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]4, respectively. However, in the latter case, only the [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]3 was formed as the main product because of the steric effect. The final dendrimer‐like [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]n copolymers were characterized by SEC and 1H‐NMR in detail. Comparing with the SEC of their precursor [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]1, the curves of [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]2 was shifted to the shorter elution time, while that of [PEEGE‐(PS/PEO)]n (n ≥ 3) was shifted to the longer elution time, which was attributed to the different hydrodynamic volume derived from their separate structures and compositions in THF solution. © 2009 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. The H‐shaped copolymers, [poly(L ‐lactide)]2polystyrene [poly(L ‐lactide)]2, [(PLLA)2PSt(PLLA)2] have been synthesized by combination of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) with cationic ring‐opening polymerization (CROP). The first step of the synthesis is ATRP of St using α,α′‐dibromo‐p‐xylene/CuBr/2,2′‐bipyridine as initiating system, and then the PSt with two bromine groups at both chain ends (Br–PSt–Br) were transformed to four terminal hydroxyl groups via the reaction of Br–PSt–Br with diethanolamine in N,N‐dimethylformamide. The H‐shaped copolymers were produced by CROP of LLA, using PSt with four terminal hydroxyl groups as macroinitiator and Sn(Oct)2 as catalyst. The copolymers obtained were characterized by 1H NMR spectroscopy and gel permeation chromatography. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J Polym Sci Part A: Polym Chem 44: 2794–2801, 2006  相似文献

[Pt(C2O4)(dppe)] reacts thermally with PhCCH to produce [Pt(CCPh)2(dppe)], which has been prepared by alternative routes. Similar treatment of [Pt(C2O4)(dppm)] initially produces [Pt(CCPh)2(dppm)], which rearranges to give cis,cis-[Pt2(CCPh)4(μ-dppm)2]. Reaction of [PtCl2(dppm)] with PhCCH/KOH/18-crown-6, or with (PhCC)SnMe3, gives [Pt(CCPh)2(dppm)], which may be converted to the cis,cis-dimer by addition of oxalic acid. Ultraviolet irradiation or refluxing with a trace amount of dppm converts [Pt(CCPh)2(dppm)] to trans,trans-[Pt2(CCPh)4(μ-dppm)2], but the cis,cis-dimer is stable under these conditions. [Pt(C2O4)L2] (L = PPh3, PEt3) complexes also react thermally with PhCCH to yield [Pt(CCPh)2L2] species.  相似文献

Novel and well‐defined amphiphilic H‐shaped terpolymers poly(L‐lactide)‐block‐(poly(2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate) ‐block‐)poly(ε‐caprolactone)(‐block‐poly(2‐(N,N‐dimethylamino)ethyl methacrylate)) ‐b‐poly(L‐lactide) (PLLA‐b‐(PDMAEMA‐b‐)PCL(‐b‐PDMAEMA)‐b‐PLLA) were synthesized by the combination of ring‐opening polymerization, atom transfer radical polymerization, and click chemistry. The H‐shaped amphiphilic terpolymers can self‐assemble into spherical nano‐micelles in water. Because of the dually responsive (temperature and pH) properties of PDMAEMA segments, the hydrodynamic radius of the micelles of the H‐shaped terpolymer solution can be adjusted by altering the environmental temperature or pH values. The thermal properties investigation and the crystalline morphology analysis indicate that the branched structure of the H‐shaped terpolymers and the presence of amorphous PDMAEMA segments together led to the obvious decrease of PCL segments and the complete destruction of crystallinity of the PLLA segments in the H‐shaped terpolymers. In addition, the H‐shaped terpolymer film has better hydrophilicity than linear PCL or triblock polymer of PLLA‐b‐(N3? )PCL(? N3)‐b‐PLLA, due to the decrease or destruction of the crystallizability of the PCL or PLLA in the H‐shaped terpolymer and the presence of hydrophilic PDMAEMA segments. These unique H‐shaped amphiphilic terpolymers composed of biodegradable and biocompatible PCL and PLLA components and intelligent and biocompatible PDMAEMA component will have the potential applications in biomedical fields. © 2012 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new, efficient method for synthesizing stable nanoparticles with poly(ethylene oxide) (PEO) functionalities on the core surface, in which the micellization and crosslinking reactions occur in one pot, has been developed. First, amphiphilic PEO‐b‐PS copolymers were synthesized by reversible addition fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) radical polymerization of styrene using (PEO)‐based trithiocarbonate as a macro‐RAFT agent. The low molecular weight PEO‐b‐PS copolymer was dissolved in isopropyl alcohol where the block copolymer self‐assembled as core‐shell micelles, and then the core‐shell interface crosslink was performed using divinylbenzene as a crosslinking agent and 2,2′‐azobisisobutyronitrile as an initiator. The design of the amphiphilic RAFT agent is critical for the successful preparation of core‐shell interface crosslinked micellar nanoparticles, because of RAFT functional groups interconnect PEO and polystyrene blocks. The PEO functionality of the nanoparticles surface was confirmed by 1H NMR and FTIR. The size and morphology of the nanoparticles was confirmed by scanning electron microscopy, transmission electron microscopy, and dynamic laser light scattering analysis.

An amphiphilic multiblock copolymer [poly(ethylene oxide)‐b‐polystyrene]n [(PEO‐b‐PS)n] is synthesized by using trithiocarbonate‐embedded PEO as macro‐RAFT agent. PEO with four inserted trithiocarbonate (Mn = 9200 and Mw/Mn = 1.62) groups is prepared first by condensation of α, ω‐dihydroxyl poly(ethylene oxide) with S, S′‐Bis(α, α′‐dimethyl‐α″‐acetic acid)‐trithiocarbonate (BDATC) in the presence of pyridine, then a series of goal copolymers with different St units (varied from 25 to 218 per segment) are obtained by reversible addition‐fragmentation chain transfer (RAFT) polymerization. The synthesis process is monitored by size exclusion chromatography (SEC), 1H NMR and FT‐IR. The self‐assembled morphologies of the copolymers are strongly dependent of the length of PS block chains when the chain length of PEO is fixed, some new morphologies as large leaf‐like aggregates (LLAs), large octopus‐like aggregates (LOAs), and coarse‐grain like micelles (CGMs) are observed besides some familiar aggregates as large compound vesicles (LCVs), lamellae and rods, and the effect of water content on the morphologies is also discussed. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc. A new tetrafunctional initiator, di(hydroxyethyl)‐2,9‐dibromosebacate (DHEDBS) [HOCH2CH2OOCCHBr(CH2)6CHBrCOOCH2CH2OH], was synthesized and used in preparation of A2B2 miktoarm star copolymers, (polystyrene)2/ [poly(1,3‐dioxepane)]2 [S‐(PSt)2(PDOP)2], by transformation of atom transfer radical polymerization (ATRP) to cationic ring‐opening polymerization (CROP). First, two‐armed PSt with two primary hydroxyl groups sited at the center of macromolecule [(PStBr)2(OH)2] was obtained by ATRP of St with the initiation system of DHEDBS/CuBr/bpy, and used as a chain‐transfer agent in the CROP of DOP with triflic acid as the initiator. Therefore, A2B2 miktoarm star copolymer S‐(PSt)2(PDOP)2 was formed. Its structure was confirmed by the 1H NMR spectrum. Gel permeation chromatography (GPC) curves show that the polymers obtained have a relatively narrow molecular weight distribution. The hydrolysis product of S‐(PSt)2(PDOP)2 was also characterized by 1H NMR and GPC. © 2001 John Wiley & Sons, Inc. J Polym Sci A: Polym Chem 39: 437–445, 2001  相似文献

New tricrystalline triblock terpolymers, polyethylene‐block‐poly(ε‐caprolactone)‐block‐poly(L‐lactide) (PE‐b‐PCL‐b‐PLLA), were synthesized by ROP of ε‐caprolactone (CL) and L‐lactide (LLA) from linear ω‐hydroxyl polyethylene (PE‐OH) macroinitiators. The linear PE‐OH macroinitiators were prepared by C1 polymerization of methylsulfoxonium methylide (polyhomologation). Tin(II) 2‐ethylhexanoate was used as the catalyst for the sequential ROP of CL and LLA in one‐pot polymerization at 85 °C in toluene (PE‐OH macroinitiators are soluble in toluene at 80 °C). 1H NMR spectra confirmed the formation of PE‐b‐PCL‐b‐PLLA triblock terpolymers through the appearance of the characteristic proton peaks of each block. GPC traces showed the increase in the number average molecular weight from PE‐OH macroinitiator to PE‐b‐PCL, and PE‐b‐PCL‐b‐PLLA corroborating the successful synthesis. The existence of three crystalline blocks was proved by DSC and XRD spectroscopy. © 2019 The Authors. Journal of Polymer Science Part A: Polymer Chemistry published by Wiley Periodicals, Inc. J. Ethylene glycol (EG) initiated, hydroxyl‐telechelic poly(L ‐lactide) (PLLA) was employed as a macroinitiator in the presence of a stannous octoate catalyst in the ring‐opening polymerization of 5‐methyl‐5‐benzyloxycarbonyl‐1,3‐dioxan‐2‐one (MBC) with the goal of creating A–B–A‐type block copolymers having polycarbonate outer blocks and a polyester center block. Because of transesterification reactions involving the PLLA block, multiblock copolymers of the A–(B–A)n–B–A type were actually obtained, where A is poly(5‐methyl‐5‐benzyloxycarbonyl‐1,3‐dioxan‐2‐one), B is PLLA, and n is greater than 0. 1H and 13C NMR spectroscopy of the product copolymers yielded evidence of the multiblock structure and provided the lactide sequence length. For a PLLA macroinitiator with a number‐average molecular weight of 2500 g/mol, the product block copolymer had an n value of 0.8 and an average lactide sequence length (consecutive C6H8O4 units uninterrupted by either an EG or MBC unit) of 6.1. For a PLLA macroinitiator with a number‐average molecular weight of 14,400 g/mol, n was 18, and the average lactide sequence length was 5.0. Additional evidence of the block copolymer architecture was revealed through the retention of PLLA crystallinity as measured by differential scanning calorimetry and wide‐angle X‐ray diffraction. Multiblock copolymers with PLLA crystallinity could be achieved only with isolated PLLA macroinitiators; sequential addition of MBC to high‐conversion L ‐lactide polymerizations resulted in excessive randomization, presumably because of residual L ‐lactide monomer. © 2006 Wiley Periodicals, Inc.
