We analyse the fluctuations at steady state in the good quality cavity case in two-photon lasers with running wave and two-photon absorptive optical bistability in a ring cavity. In the case of two-photon laser we do not find any nonclassical effect, contrary to expectations. On the other hand, in two-photon optical bistability we find squeezing and antibunching in the low transmission branch. The maximum reduction of fluctuations that can be obtained is slightly larger than by a factor of two. 相似文献

We derive equations and study nonlinear dynamics of cascade two-photon laser, in which the electromagnetic field in the cavity is driven by coherently prepared three-level atoms and classical
field injected into the cavity. The dynamic equations of such a system are derived by using the technique of quantum Langevin operators, and then are studied numerically under different
driving conditions. The results show that under certain conditions
the cascade two-photon laser can generate chaotic, period doubling, periodic, stable and bistable states. Chaos can be inhibited by atomic populations, atomic coherences, and injected classical field. In addition, no chaos occurs in optical bistability. 相似文献

We show that bistable behaviour in a two-photon resonant system within a cavity may be attributed to interactive mode-pulling via the two-photon optical Kerr effect and also to absorptive bleaching (atomic saturation). The interactive Kerr process may be regarded as giving rise to a new category of optical bistability. Moreover, a mechanism for the recently-predicted tristability can be found in terms of simultaneous competition between the interactive Kerr effect and bleaching. 相似文献

We study the mean field properties of a solid-state monomode laser containing a saturable absorber which can undergo only two-photon transitions. Even when the cavity is tuned to the atomic line center there are two classes of stationary solutions, one of which is tuned to the microscopic frequency whereas the other one is always detuned. Controllable Optical Bistability and Multistability in a Four-Level Atomic System with Closed-Loop Configuration 下载免费PDF全文
We theoretically investigate optical bistability (OB) and multistability (OM) behaviour of a closed-loop configuration atomic system driven by a degenerate coupling- field and a degenerate probe field inside a unidirectional ring cavity. It is found that the OB and OM behaviour can be controlled by adjusting- the intensity and the frequency detuning of the coupling- field, respectively. Interestingly, our numerical results show that it is easy to realize the transition from OB to OM or vice versa by adjusting- the intensity of the coupling- field under a appropriate frequency detuning. The effect of the atomic cooperation parameter on the OB behaviour is also discussed. 相似文献

本文系统地研究了双光子共振作用的光学多稳态理论。在平均场近似下求出的状态方程包含了动态斯塔克效应及弛豫时间参数。指出了在平均场近似下,F-P腔与单向环形腔的状态方程有基本相同的形式。分析了双光子光学多稳态的两种物理机构——克尔效应与饱和吸收效应。在一定条件下这两种效应的共同作用可导致双稳态、双双稳态及三稳态。进一步还给出了区分双稳态、双双稳态及三稳态的判别式。最后还研究了双光子四波混频位相复共轭反射率的双稳态及多稳态。

We have investigated phase conjugation by degenerate four-wave mixing, in circumstances where optical bistability can occur by two-photon resonant interaction. The solutions of the probe equation coupled with the two-photon equation of state have been obtained and studied. Bistability behaviors in an optical ring cavity filled with a dense V-type four-level atomic medium are theoretically investigated. It is found that the optical bistability can appear in the negative refraction frequency band, while both the bistability and multi-stability can occur in the positive refraction frequency bands. We investigate the collective radiative behaviour of three level atoms with two degenerate levels in the ground state, with particular emphasis on the role of the ground state atomic coherence.
