The Schwarz problem for bi-analytic functions in unbounded circular multiply connected domains is considered. We combine constructive methods applied to boundary value problems for complex partial differential equations in simply connected domains and for the Riemann–Hilbert type problems in multiply connected domains. A general method is outlined and the case of doubly connected domains is discussed in details. Solution is obtained in the form of a series.  相似文献

This paper investigates the numerical solutions of singular second order three-point boundary value problems using reproducing kernel Hilbert space method. It is a relatively new analytical technique. The solution obtained by using the method takes the form of a convergent series with easily computable components. However, the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method cannot be used directly to solve a singular second order three-point boundary value problem, so we convert it into an equivalent integro-differential equation, which can be solved using reproducing kernel Hilbert space method. Four numerical examples are given to demonstrate the efficiency of the present method. The numerical results demonstrate that the method is quite accurate and efficient for singular second order three-point boundary value problems.  相似文献

This paper investigates the forced Duffing equation with integral boundary conditions. Its approximate solution is developed by combining the homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and the reproducing kernel Hilbert space method (RKHSM). HPM is based on the use of the traditional perturbation method and the homotopy technique. The HPM can reduce nonlinear problems to some linear problems and generate a rapid convergent series solution in most cases. RKHSM is also an analytical technique, which can solve powerfully linear boundary value problems. Therefore, the forced Duffing equation with integral boundary conditions can be solved using advantages of these two methods. Two numerical examples are presented to illustrate the strength of the method.  相似文献

Improved scales of spaces and elliptic boundary-value problems. III   总被引:1,自引:1,他引:0
We study elliptic boundary-value problems in improved scales of functional Hilbert spaces on smooth manifolds with boundary. The isotropic Hörmander-Volevich-Paneyakh spaces are elements of these scales. The local smoothness of a solution of an elliptic problem in an improved scale is investigated. We establish a sufficient condition under which this solution is classical. Elliptic boundary-value problems with parameter are also studied.  相似文献

This paper presents a new reproducing kernel Hilbert space method for solving nonlinear fourth-order boundary value problems. It is a relatively new analytical technique. The solution obtained by using the method takes the form of a convergent series with easily computable components. This paper will present a numerical comparison between our method and other methods for solving an open fourth-order boundary value problem presented by Scott and Watts. The method is also applied to a nonlinear fourth-order boundary value problem. The numerical results demonstrate that the new method is quite accurate and efficient for fourth-order boundary value problems.  相似文献

In this paper we analyze a discrete-time single server queue where the service time equals one slot. The numbers of arrivals in each slot are assumed to be independent and identically distributed random variables. The service process is interrupted by a semi-Markov process, namely in certain states the server is available for service while the server is not available in other states. We analyze both the transient and steady-state models. We study the generating function of the joint probability of queue length, the state and the residual sojourn time of the semi-Markov process. We derive a system of Hilbert boundary value problems for the generating functions. The system of Hilbert boundary value problems is converted to a system of Fredholm integral equations. We show that the system of Fredholm integral equations has a unique solution. This revised version was published online in June 2006 with corrections to the Cover Date.  相似文献

The present article is concerned with the numerical implementation of the Hilbert uniqueness method for solving exact and approximate boundary controllability problems for the heat equation. Using convex duality, we reduce the solution of the boundary control problems to the solution of identification problems for the initial data of an adjoint heat equation. To solve these identification problems, we use a combination of finite difference methods for the time discretization, finite element methods for the space discretization, and of conjugate gradient and operator splitting methods for the iterative solution of the discrete control problems. We apply then the above methodology to the solution of exact and approximate boundary controllability test problems in two space dimensions. The numerical results validate the methods discussed in this article and clearly show the computational advantage of using second-order accurate time discretization methods to approximate the control problems.  相似文献

We study boundary value problems posed in a semistrip for the elliptic sine-Gordon equation, which is the paradigm of an elliptic integrable PDE in two variables. We use the method introduced by one of the authors, which provides a substantial generalization of the inverse scattering transform and can be used for the analysis of boundary as opposed to initial-value problems. We first express the solution in terms of a 2×2 matrix Riemann–Hilbert problem whose “jump matrix” depends on both the Dirichlet and the Neumann boundary values. For a well posed problem one of these boundary values is an unknown function. This unknown function is characterised in terms of the so-called global relation, but in general this characterisation is nonlinear. We then concentrate on the case that the prescribed boundary conditions are zero along the unbounded sides of a semistrip and constant along the bounded side. This corresponds to a case of the so-called linearisable boundary conditions, however, a major difficulty for this problem is the existence of non-integrable singularities of the function q y at the two corners of the semistrip; these singularities are generated by the discontinuities of the boundary condition at these corners. Motivated by the recent solution of the analogous problem for the modified Helmholtz equation, we introduce an appropriate regularisation which overcomes this difficulty. Furthermore, by mapping the basic Riemann–Hilbert problem to an equivalent modified Riemann–Hilbert problem, we show that the solution can be expressed in terms of a 2×2 matrix Riemann–Hilbert problem whose “jump matrix” depends explicitly on the width of the semistrip L, on the constant value d of the solution along the bounded side, and on the residues at the given poles of a certain spectral function denoted by h(λ). The determination of the function h remains open.  相似文献

The solution of the Hilbert problem is defined as the series which formally satisfies the boundary condition. We find a number of such solutions and give their properties.Translated from Matematicheskie Zametki, Vol. 12, No. 2, pp. 221–232, August, 1972.  相似文献

In this article, the poly-Hardy class on the unit disc is introduced and the boundary behaviour of the function in this class is discussed. Then the method used in Wang (Y.F. Wang, On modified Hilbert boundary-value problems of polyanalytic functions, Math. Methods Appl. Sci. 32 (2009), pp. 1415–1427) is applied to Hilbert-type boundary-value problems for the poly-Hardy class on the unit disc, and the expression of solution and the condition of solvability are explicitly obtained.  相似文献

In this paper, the singular second order differential operators are considered defined on the multi-interval. Some boundary and transmission conditions are imposed on the maximal domain functions with the spectral parameter. After constructing the differential operators associated with the boundary value transmission problems on the suitable Hilbert spaces, it is proved that these operators are the maximal dissipative operators. Finally constructing the model operators which are established with the help of the scattering functions, it is proved that all root vectors of the maximal dissipative operators are complete in the Hilbert spaces.  相似文献

In this article, some mixed boundary value problems (BVPs) on the unit circumference for some pairs of a metaanalytic function and an analytic function are discussed. Using the relationship between metaanalytic function and polyanalytic function, the expression of solution and the condition of solvability for the problem are obtained by reducing the problem to an equivalent system of a Haseman BVP for analytic function and a Hilbert BVP for analytic function. We study nonlocal equations from the area of peridynamics, an instance of nonlocal wave equation, and nonlocal diffusion on bounded domains whose governing equations contain a convolution operator based on integrals. We generalize the notion of convolution to accommodate local boundary conditions. On a bounded domain, the classical operator with local boundary conditions has a purely discrete spectrum, and hence, provides a Hilbert basis. We define an abstract convolution operator using this Hilbert basis, thereby automatically satisfying local boundary conditions. The main goal in this paper is twofold: apply the concept of abstract convolution operator to nonlocal problems and carry out a numerical study of the resulting operators. We study the corresponding initial value problems with prominent boundary conditions such as periodic, antiperiodic, Neumann, and Dirichlet. To connect to the standard convolution, we give an integral representation of the abstract convolution operator. For discretization, we use a weak formulation based on a Galerkin projection and use piecewise polynomials on each element which allows discontinuities of the approximate solution at the element borders. We study convergence order of solutions with respect to polynomial order and observe optimal convergence. We depict the solutions for each boundary condition.  相似文献

We consider a free boundary value problem arising from a non-symmetric problem of electrochemical machining (ECM). After a conformal mapping of the unknown domain the problem is transformed to a non-smooth non-linear Riemann–Hilbert problem for holomorphic functions in the complex unit disk. A special technique allows to remove the singularities in the boundary condition. Utilizing existence results for smooth non-orientable Riemann–Hilbert problems, existence and uniqueness of a solution are shown. Finally, we propose an iterative method of Newton type for the effective numerical computation of the free boundary of the anode and present some test results. © 1997 B. G. In this article, we study convergence of the extragradient method for constrained convex minimization problems in a Hilbert space. Our goal is to obtain an ε-approximate solution of the problem in the presence of computational errors, where ε is a given positive number. Most results known in the literature establish convergence of optimization algorithms, when computational errors are summable. In this article, the convergence of the extragradient method for solving convex minimization problems is established for nonsummable computational errors. We show that the the extragradient method generates a good approximate solution, if the sequence of computational errors is bounded from above by a constant.  相似文献

In this paper second order elliptic boundary value problems on bounded domains ΩRn with boundary conditions on ∂Ω depending nonlinearly on the spectral parameter are investigated in an operator theoretic framework. For a general class of locally meromorphic functions in the boundary condition a solution operator of the boundary value problem is constructed with the help of a linearization procedure. In the special case of rational Nevanlinna or Riesz-Herglotz functions on the boundary the solution operator is obtained in an explicit form in the product Hilbert space L2(Ω)⊕(L2m(∂Ω)), which is a natural generalization of known results on λ-linear elliptic boundary value problems and λ-rational boundary value problems for ordinary second order differential equations.  相似文献

The resolution of boundary value problems by integral equations is usually based on isomorphisms between the solution of the boundary value problem and boundary data. Using an abstract Green formula in a Hilbert space framework, we prove these isomorphisms. Many applications are given, like the Dirichlet and Neumann problems for the Laplace operator, as well as the clamped and free plate problems in the plane.  相似文献
