A two-stage procedure is proposed for the immobilization of ion pairs of pyrocatechol azo derivatives and trihydroxyfluorones and their chelates with metal ions on paper. It is demonstrated that ion pairs of phenylfluorone and thiazolylazopyrocatechol with cetylpyridinium can be used for the test determination of 0.01-10 mg/L Ti(IV), 0.05-20 mg/L Mo(VI), and 0.1–20 mg/L W(VI) and V(V) by the length of the colored zone of test strips after their contact with a test solution and for the determination of 0.01-0.5 mg/L Al and Mo(VI) and 0.001-0.1 mg/L Ti(IV) by the color intensity of reactive papers after passing a test solution. Chelates of Mo(VI) with tiazolylazopyrocatechol and of Sb(III) with phenylfluorone are used for the test determination of 0.01-1000 mg/L cationic surfactants. The selectivity of reactions is studied, and procedures are proposed for the determination of the above elements in different materials. The relative standard deviation of the results of analysis is no higher than 50%.  相似文献

It was shown that 2,3,7-trihydroxyfluorones immobilized by adsorption on cellulose matrices can be used as reagents for the test determination of Mo(VI), Ti(IV), Ge(IV), Hf(IV), Nb(V), Ta(V), W(VI), Bi(III), V(IV), and Zr(IV). The change of the protolytic and complexing properties of trihydroxyfluorones immobilized on cellulose matrices was considered in comparison to corresponding properties in a solution. It was found that the reactions of trihydroxyfluorones with rare elements on cellulose matrices and in a solution exhibit similar effects upon the addition of cetylpyridinium. These effects are the bathochromic shift of the absorption maxima of the reagents and their complexes with analytes and the extension of the range of optimum acidity for complex formation. The complexation of salicylfluorones with the titanium(IV) in solution and on cellulose paper was studied by IR spectrometry. Phenylfluorone immobilized on a mixed-fiber cloth as used in test determinations of (mg/L) 0.05–5 Ti(IV), V(IV), Hf(IV), Nb(V), and Mo(VI); 0.01–5 Ge(IV) and Zr(IV); 0.05–1 Bi(III) and W(VI); and 0.1–5 Ta(V) by the color intensity of the indicator matrix after passing through 20 mL of a test solution. It was shown that phenylfluorone immobilized on cellulose paper can be used to determine (mg/L) 0.05–50 Ti(IV), 0.5–1000 Ge(IV), 0.5–500 Zr(IV), 5–200 Bi(III), 0.1–50 Mo(VI), 0.1–1000 V(IV), 0.1–100 Nb(V), 0.1–800 Hf(IV), 1–100 Ta(V), and 1–800 W(VI) by the length of the colored zone of a test strip after it was brought into contact with a test solution.  相似文献

A catalytic method for the determination of copper, based on the catalysis of the hexacyano-ferrate(III)-cyanide redox reaction, is proposed. Experimental conditions to achieve the lowest detection limit are selected from the kinetics of both the catalysed and the uncatalysed reactions. The experimental measurements can be made at room temperature without close control. The rate-constant method is the most sensitive and precise, whereas the fixed-concentration and fixed-time methods appear to be the most rapid for routine analysis. A detection limit of 1.3 ng/ml and a coefficient of variation of about 3% for the determination of 63 ng/ml can be achieved. The catalytic effect of copper seems to be highly specific. Lead(II), bismuth (III), antimony (III), iron (II), iron(III), chromium(III), lanthanum(III), cerium(III), titanium(IV), zirconium(IV) and uranium(VI) interfere by precipitation. Species such as tin(II), cobalt(II), manganese(II), sulphite and thiosulphite cause serious interference because they react with hexacyanoferrate(III). Chromate interferes by its colour. Suitable methods to avoid the interferences from antimony(III), iron(III), chromium(III), titanium(IV), zirconium(IV), uranium(VI) and chromate are proposed.  相似文献

A differential pulse polarographic method has been developed for the quantitative determination of niobium in pyrochlore ore. One-step polarographic curves were obtained in 0.01 mol L(-1) EDTA as supporting electrolyte. Analytical curves indicated that response was linearly dependent on Nb(V) concentration between 1.6 and 8.6 mg L(-1) in the pH range 2-5. The system is quasi-reversible and controlled by diffusion in 0.01 mol L(-1) EDTA as supporting electrolyte; the electrode process involves one-electron reduction of Nb(V) to Nb(IV). The results obtained so far for niobium in pyrochlore ore were comparable with those obtained by X-ray fluorescence determination. Ions such as Fe(III), Cr(III), As(III), Cu(II), Ni(II), Co(II), Mn(II), Sn(IV), Zn(II), V(V), Ta(V), W(VI), Ce(IV), and Ti(IV) did not interfere. Possible interference from Pb(II) can be avoided by complexation with the supporting electrolyte in the pH range 3.5 to 4.6; Mo(VI) ions can be tolerated when their concentration is one-tenth that of Nb(V).  相似文献

The possibility of the determination of La(III) in the presence of U(VI) and Th(IV), a solid phase with the reagent Arsenazo M, was examined. It was demonstrated that the determination of lanthanum with Arsenazo M in 0.05 M HCl in the presence of 3-, 2-, 1-, and 10-fold amounts of U(VI), Th(IV), Zr(IV), and Ti(IV) is possible after sorption on polyacrylonitrile fiber filled an ion exchanger with iminodiacetate groups (PANV-ANKB-50). For sorption under the optimum conditions at pH 5, the detection limit of lanthanum is 0.01 μg/mL. The method for the determination of lanthanum was verified by the added-found method in the analysis of tap water. To decrease the matrix effect, it is recommended to perform sorption in the analysis of water at pH 2.5. In this case, the detection limit of La(III) is 0.02 μg/mL, RSD < 20%. The time of the analysis of 5 or 6 samples is no longer than 20 min.  相似文献

A ternary complex between germanium, Catechol Violet (CV) and cetyltrimethylanunoniuni bromide is proposed for the determination of germanium. The stoichiometric ratio Ge:CV is 1:2. Beer's law is obeyed from 0.1 to 1.0 ppm of Ge. The method is highly selective. Interference from Sn(IV), Fe(III), Bi(III), Cr(VI), Mo(VI), V(V) and Sb(III) in mg amounts is eliminated by extracting the germanium into carbon tetrachloride from 9M HC1 and then stripping into water before the photometric determination.  相似文献

A simple, selective and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the individual and simultaneous determination of Ti(IV) and Mo(VI) using resacetophenone p-hydroxybenzoylhydrazone (RAPHBH) in presence of Triton X-100, without any prior separation. Beer's law is obeyed between 0.13-1.2 microg mL-1 and 0.18-1.90 microg mL-1 concentration of Ti(IV) and Mo(VI) at 455 nm and 405 nm, respectively. The molar absorptivity and Sandell's sensitivity of the coloured complexes at pH 3.0 are 3.1x10(4) L mol-1 cm-1, 4.2x10(4) L mol-1 cm-1, and 1.6 ng cm-2, 2.3 ng cm-2 for Ti(IV) and Mo(VI), respectively. The stoichiometry of the complexes were found to be 1:2 and 1:1 (metal:ligand) for Ti(IV) and Mo(VI), respectively. These metal ions interfere with the determination of each other in zero-order spectrophotometry. The first derivative spectra of these complexes permitted a simultaneous determination of Ti(IV) and Mo(VI) at zero crossing wavelengths of 500.0 nm and 455.0 nm, respectively. The effect of foreign ions in the determination of Ti(IV) and Mo(VI) were investigated. The proposed method has been successfully applied for the determination of titanium and molybdenum in standard alloy steel, mineral and soil samples.  相似文献

A simple and rapid spectrophotometric method has been developed for the determination of Pu in highly radioactive liquid waste. This method uses Nd(III) as an internal standard, which enables us to determine the concentration of Pu and to authenticate the whole analytical scheme as well. A Nd(III) standard mixed with a sample solution and Pu was quantitatively oxidized to Pu(VI) with Ce(IV) in a nitric acid medium, having the maximum absorbance at 830 nm. A spectrophotometric measurement of Pu(VI) was subsequently performed to determine the concentration compared with the maximum absorbance of Nd(III) at 795 nm. It was estimated that the relative expanded uncertainty for a real sample is less than 10%. The limit of detection was calculated to be 1.8 mg/L (3 sigma). The proposed method was also validated through comparison experiments with isotope dilution mass spectrometry, and was successfully applied to analysis for nuclear waste management at spent nuclear fuel reprocessing plants.  相似文献

Two model systems and three analytical procedures based on them have been investigated analytically and characterized statistically with the aim of evaluating the application of ternary complexes in photometry. From measurements on the systems Ti(IV), Tiron (TiR8?3, procedure I), Ti(IV), Tiron, EDTA (TiR8?3, procedure II), Ti(IV), Tiron, EDTA [TiO(HY)R5?, procedure III], the molar absorptivities, standard deviations, coefficients of variation, calibration data, limits of detection and determination have been calculated, and the possible interferences of 45 ions have been examined. Procedure III is shown to be the least sensitive of the three, but to offer a higher selectivity towards titanium in the presence of Cr(III), Cu(II), Fe(III), Mn(II), Mo(VI), Ni(II), U(VI) and W(VI). The reasons for this are discussed, and some suggestions are offered concerning the intended application of ternary complexes.  相似文献

Ternary systems involving thiocyanate or azide (X) and N-hydroxy-N-p-chlorophenyl-N'-(2-methyl-4-chlorophenyl)benzamidine hydrochloride (HOAm) are used for the extraction-photometric determination of vanadium(V) as a VOX(2)(OAm)HOAm complex. A strong synergistic effect is observed. Mn(II), Cr(III), Ti(IV), Zr(IV), Mo(VI) and W(VI) do not interfere. The method has been applied to standard steel samples.  相似文献

A novel flow injection method has been developed for the indirect determination of uranium by the on-line reduction and subsequent fluorimetric detection of cerium(III). A sample solution containing uranium(VI), prepared as a sulfuric acid solution, was injected into a sulfuric acid carrier solution and passed through a column packed with metal bismuth to reduce uranium(VI) to uranium(IV). The sample solution was merged with a cerium(IV) solution to oxidize uranium(IV) to uranium(VI) and the cerium(III) generated was then monitored fluorimetricaly. The present method is free from interference from zirconium, lanthanides, and thorium, and has been successfully applied to the determination of uranium in monazite coupled with an anion-exchange separation in a sulfuric acid medium to eliminate iron(III). The sample throughput was 25 per hour and the lowest detectable concentration was 0.0042 mg l(-1).  相似文献

The promoting effect of vanadium(V, IV) in the reaction of gallic acid oxidation with bromate ions in aqueous solutions was studied, and the dependence of the rates of catalytic and noncatalytic reactions on the concentration of components was found. A catalytic mechanism was proposed based on the experimental results and data of quantum-mechanical calculations. The linear dependence of the rate of the catalytic reaction on the concentration of vanadium(V)/vanadium(IV) was used to determine these ions in solutions by catalytic photometry. The detection limit was 0.01 μg in an aliquot portion of the test solution; the determination error was less than 20%. The conditions were found for stabilizing the properties of paper supports for more than 30 days, since the interaction of filter and chromatographic papers with bromate ions was found. An adsorption- catalytic test method was proposed for the semiquantitative visual determination of vanadium ions in water and aqueous solutions by the color of the pretreated paper strip immersed in the test solution. The detection limit for vanadium ions was 0.1 mg/L. The 100-fold amounts of Ni(II), Mn(II), Cr(III), and Co(II) do not interfere with the determination. The method was tested on river and sea water samples from different sources.  相似文献

4-methylpentan-2-ol is used for quantitative extraction of iron(III) from 5.5-6M hydrochloric acid. The iron(III) is then stripped with water and determined titrimetrically. Te(IV), Se(IV), ascorbate, fluoride and thiocyanate interfere must be absent. Mo(VI), W(VI) and Au(III) are co-extracted but do not interfere in the determination.  相似文献

A rapid and sensitive method for the direct determination of hexavalent chromium in natural waters has been developed. Anion exchange chromatography was used for the fast separation of chromates from matrix anions, within 15 minutes, using a 35 mM KOH eluant. Mobile phase suppression was employed prior to direct conductivity (CD) detection, comparing two different electrolytic suppressor models and achieving a 10 times lower detection limit. Post column derivatization of Cr(VI) with diphenylcarbazide was used for further selective diode array (PDA) detection. Possible Cr(III) interference was evaluated with the addition of concentrations up to 10 mg/L of Cr(III) in a Cr(VI) positive natural water sample resulting in negligible interference. Both detection techniques gave instrumental LOD of 0.05 µg/L and method LOD of 0.08 µg/L for CD and 0.05 µg/L for PDA detection in underground water. Average repeatability and reproducibility (%RSD) was 1.3% and 5.4% for CD and 1.3% and 6.1% for PDA detection for two concentration levels. Recovery ranged from 70% to 103% for CD and from 90% to 100% for PDA. Method accuracy was additionally confirmed by analyzing positive samples with LC-ICP-MS. The method was successfully applied to the determination of Cr(VI) in several tap, spring and groundwater samples from the wider area of Asopos River, Greece. High concentrations where confirmed to the majority of the analyzed samples, revealing the serious and expanded problem of industrial pollution.  相似文献

A sensitive and simple method for the electrothermal atomic absorption spectrometry (ETAAS) determination of Cr(III) after separation/preconcentration on a micro-column packed with nanometer sized zirconium phosphate has been developed. Total chromium was determined after the reduction of Cr(VI) to Cr(III) by 10% (m/v) of aqueous ascorbic acid. The limit of detection for Cr(III) was 1.5 ng/L with an enrichment factor of 300. The static adsorption capacity of the sorbent for Cr(III) was 9.34 mg/g. The relative standard deviation was 3.2% (n = 7, c = 10 ng/mL). The method was applied successfully to the determination of Cr(III) and Cr(VI) in natural water samples.  相似文献

Summary A rapid volumetric method has been worked out for the indirect determination of 0.25–2.5 mg of gold in presence of many common ions. It is based on the reduction of gold(III) to metal with excess of cobalt(II) in the presence of 1,10-phenanthroline at pH 3 and 50°, and estimation of the unreacted cobalt(II) in the filtrate by visual, potentiometric or biamperometric titration with standardized cerium(IV) sulphate solution. It has been found that there is no interference from Ni(II), Pb(II), Zn(II), Cd(II), Mn(II), Mg(II), Ca(II), Al(III), Cr(III), Ti(IV), V(V) and W(VI). Interference due to Pd(II) and Ag(I) can be eliminated. Fe(III), Cu(II), Mo(VI), Hg(II) and Pt(IV) interfere, even present in small amounts.

A new alternative approach for the determination of molybdenum in steel is proposed, using adsorptive stripping voltammetry (AdSV). The determinations are performed in a homogeneous ternary solvent system (HTSS) composed of N,N-dimethylformamide, ethanol and water, with alpha-benzoinoxime (alpha BO) as the complexing agent and a sodium acetate-acetic acid buffer as the support electrolyte. The HTSS composition was optimized by mixture design modelling. The AdSV measurements were performed in the differential pulse mode using an accumulation potential of -1050 mV. Under these optimized experimental conditions, the Mo(VI)-alpha BO reduction current peak potential is observed at potentials near -1250 mV, much lower than those usually reported, and the calibration plot follows the polynomial equation I = 0.359 + 0.265 [CMo(VI)] - 0.015 [CMo(IV)]2 (r2 = 0.997), for Mo concentrations up to 10.0 micrograms L-1. There is a linear range in this calibration plot for Mo(VI) concentrations up to 0.20 microgram L-1, defined by the equation I = 0.353 + 0.385 [CMo(VI)] (r2 = 0.980). In both cases, I is the absolute value for the current in microA and CMo(VI) is the concentration of Mo in microgram L-1. The detection limit for this linear concentration range was estimated as 20 pg L-1. A RSD of 0.43% is associated with the signals at a Mo(VI) level of 0.72 microgram L-1. From the common method-interfering species tested, only iron at Fe/Mo(VI) ratios above 500 and vanadium and tungsten at M/Mo(VI) ratios above 100 appear to affect the analytical response significantly. Phosphorous may also reduce the analytical signal at P/Mo(VI) ratios above 100, due to the formation of the competitive P-Mo complex. The suggested routine procedure was tested by analyzing four stainless steel samples and the results compared well with the ICP-AES measurements. The higher sensitivity of this method permits direct determination of Mo(VI) in steels, eliminating the need of analyte concentration or separation steps in the sample processing procedure.  相似文献

The use of aquomolybdenum(III) chloride as a reducing agent for the direct potentiometric titration of Ce(IV), Cr(VI), Fe(III), V(V), Mo(VI), U(VI) and H(2)O(2) is described. The variation of the formal redox potentials of Mo(V)/Mo(IV) and Mo(IV)/Mo(III) in varying concentrations of hydrochloric, phosphoric and acetic acids is investigated. Aquomolybdenum(III) chloride is found to be a better reducing titrant than chloromolybdate(III) and gives better breaks in the titration curves. In the titration of molybdenum(VI) in 3M HCl the titration curve shows three jumps, corresponding to the reductions of Mo(VI) to Mo(V). and Mo(V) to Mo(IV) via an apparently intermediate oxidation state which presumably corresponds to a dimeric mixed-valence species. The aquomolybdenum(III) complex ion is a better reducing titrant than chloromolybdate(III) and has a wider applicability.  相似文献

A novel capillary electrophoretic (CE) method was developed for the determination of Ga(III). The so-called Anderson-type [GaMo6O24H6]3- complex was readily formed by the reaction of Mo(VI) with Ga(III) in 0.050 M monochloroacetate buffer (pH 2.0) and the precolumn complex-formation reaction was applied to the CE determination of Ga(III) with direct UV detection at 240 nm. The peak area was linearly dependent on the concentration of Ga(III) in the range of 5.0 x 10(-7)-5.0 x 10(-5) M. Owing to the high molar absorptivity of the Anderson anion, a detection limit of 2.0 x 10(-7) M (signal-to-noise ratio=3) was achieved. The advantage of the present method is that the presence of large excesses of Al(III) and In(III) does not cause interference.  相似文献
