This paper reports the design of a multiband metamaterial (MM) absorber in the terahertz region. Theoretical and simulated results show that the absorber has four distinct and strong absorption points at 1.69, 2.76, 3.41 and 5.06 THz, which are consistent with `fingerprints' of some explosive materials. The retrieved material parameters show that the impedance of MM could be tuned to match approximately the impedance of the free space to minimise the reflectance at absorption frequencies and large power loss exists at absorption frequencies. The distribution of the power loss indicates that the absorber is an excellent electromagnetic wave collector: the wave is first trapped and reinforced in certain specific locations and then consumed. This multiband absorber has applications in the detection of explosives and materials characterisation.  相似文献

We report the design and simulation of a dual-band perfect terahertz absorber which is composed of an electric Split-Resonance-Ring(eSRR) layer, polyimide spacer and a metal plate layer. The absorber has two near-unity absorptions near 0. 502 THz and 0. 942 THz and both are related to the LC resonance of the eSRR. The results show that the designed terahertz absorber is an excellent electromagnetic wave concentrator. The electromagnetic waves are firstly converged into the spacer and the eSRR layer and are then significantly absorbed.  相似文献

利用超材料吸波体对材料参数的电磁响应, 可将其应用于传感. 本文设计了一种工字形单元结构的超材料吸波体, 基于频域算法对其在太赫兹频段的传感特性进行数值模拟, 研究了待测样品折射率、厚度及电介质隔层厚度对超材料吸波体传感器的频率灵敏度、振幅灵敏度及品质因数的影响. 研究结果表明:当待测样品厚度为40 μm时, 折射率频率灵敏度可达到153.17 GHz/RIU, 折射率振幅灵敏度可达到41.37%/RIU; 待测样品折射率一定时, 厚度频率灵敏度随其厚度的增大而线性减小; 随着待测样品厚度的增加, RFOM呈增大趋势, 但增大幅度在逐渐减小; TFOM随待测样品厚度的增加而减小.  相似文献

A tunable metamaterial absorber (MA) with dual-broadband and high absorption properties at terahertz (THz) frequencies is designed in this work. The MA consists of a periodic array of flower-like monolayer graphene patterns at top, a SiO2 dielectric spacer in middle, and a gold ground plane at the bottom. The simulation results demonstrate that the designed MA has two wide absorption bands with an absorption of over 90% in frequency ranges of 0.68 THz-1.63 THz and 3.34 THz-4.08 THz, and the corresponding relative bandwidths reach 82.3% and 20%, respectively. The peak absorptivity of the absorber can be dynamically controlled from less than 10% to nearly 100% by adjusting the graphene chemical potential from 0 eV to 0.9 eV. Furthermore, the designed absorber is polarization-insensitive and has good robustness to incident angles. Such a high-performance MA has broad application prospects in THz imaging, modulating, filtering, etc.  相似文献

基于液晶材料(LC)的双折射特性提出了一种基于液晶材料的短十字型阵列电控超材料,超材料包括了上层石英板,金属结构阵,中间液晶介质层,金属地板以及下层石英板。相比于传统的阵列天线设计,运用了新的相位补偿方法,即通过加电改变反射阵列单元的介质基板液晶的介电常数得到的相位曲线实现0~250°的相位补偿,使得超材料实现在U波段的相位变化。仿真结果表明,通过将偏压从0增加到14 V,超材料在52 GHz时呈现250°的相移。此外,此超材料的谐振频率可从53.6 GHz连续可逆地转移到49.9 GHz。通过调节超材料液晶激励区域的介电常数即改变阵列单元的谐振特性,实现了相位补偿,为平面反射阵列天线的设计提供了一种新思路。  相似文献

We report the design, fabrication, and characterization of a dual-band and polarization-insensitive metamaterial ab-sorber (MA), which consists of periodically arranged fractal Koch curves acting as the top resonator array and a metallic ground plane separated by a dielectric spacer. Compared with conventional MAs, a more compact size and multi-frequency operation are achieved by using fractal geometry as the unit cell of the MA. Both the effective medium theory and the multi- reflection interference theory are employed to investigate the underlying physical mechanism of the proposed terahertz MA, and results indicate that the latter theory is not suitable for explaining the absorption mechanism in our investigated struc-ture. Two absorption peaks are observed at 0.226 THz and 0.622 THz with absorptivities of 91.3% and 95.6% respectively and good agreements between the full-wave simulation and experimental results are achieved.  相似文献

提出了一种基于石墨烯带的太赫兹波段的1 bit编码超构材料,可以实现太赫兹波束的数目、频率、幅度等参数多功能动态调控.该结构由金属薄膜、聚酰亚胺、硅、二氧化硅、石墨烯带组成.通过对石墨烯带施加两种不同的电压,可以实现一定频率范围内相位差接近180?的"0"和"1"数字编码单元,进而构成1 bit动态可控的编码超构材料.全波仿真结果表明,不同序列的编码超构材料能够实现波束数目从单波束、双波束、多波束到宽波束的调控.相同序列的编码超构材料,通过施加石墨烯带的不同电压能够实现宽频段波束频率的偏移.对于000000或者111111周期序列的编码超构材料,通过施加石墨烯带的不同电压还能够实现波束幅度的调控.因此这种基于石墨烯带的编码超构材料为灵活调控太赫兹波提供了一种新的途径,将在雷达隐身、成像、宽带通信等方面具有重要的意义.  相似文献

针对在自由空间中测试超介质吸波材料的高复杂性及高成本特点, 实验研究了4种由电谐振单元构成的超介质吸波材料在X波段(8–12 GHz)矩形波导里的吸波性能. 实验结果表明, 此4种吸波材料在终端短路的矩形波导里显示出与其在自由空间中相似的吸波性能及吸波机理.据此, 进一步研究了基于超介质吸波材料的矩形波导匹配终端应用. 分析结果显示, 此种新型匹配终端具有结构紧凑、工作频段可简单控制、成本低等优点. 通过展宽超介质吸波材料的吸波频段可设计出宽频带的矩形波导匹配终端. 关键词: 电谐振单元 超介质 吸波材料 匹配终端  相似文献

The equivalent medium theory of metamaterials provides a way to obtain their effective constitutive parameters. However, because of its non-reciprocity, the complexity of the electromagnetic coupling, and a metallic bottom layer, it has been challenging to retrieve them from a metamaterial absorber. In this paper, we propose a method without any approximation to obtain them, in which the non-reciprocity and the strong electromagnetic coupling are included. Compared with the three methods such as symmetric metamaterial method, asymmetric metamaterial method and metasurface method, our method can reveal the metamaterial absorber's electrical and magnetic resonance and show its electromagnetic coupling coefficients. To deal with a metamaterial absorber with a metallic bottom layer, four corners of the metallic bottom layer in the unit cell are removed, making it possible to retrieve the electromagnetic parameters. Surprisingly, these results show that the metamaterial absorber with a metallic bottom layer in our example operates in a negative refraction state at the half absorption frequencies, which helps further understand the absorbing mechanism of these metamaterial absorbers.  相似文献

利用中空布拉格光纤结构,设计了一种新型的磁场调制液晶太赫兹开关.通过在包层中采用周期交错的高密度聚乙烯和向列相液晶E7,并施加外磁场控制液晶的取向来改变液晶的折射率,从而实现开关的功能.该设计使开关宜于与光纤耦合,损耗小且能实现单模传输.采用有限元法模拟了开关的各项参数,数值计算表明,此开关的消光比可达2634 dB. 关键词: 太赫兹开关 布拉格光纤 液晶  相似文献

We report on the absorption properties of polarization-insensitive transmissive and reflective metamaterial absorbers based on two planar aluminium periodic structures and SU-8 epoxy resist. These absorbers were investigated using numerical simulation and experimental methods in the terahertz range (below 2 THz). SU-8 is a very promising organic material for dielectric layers in planar metamaterials, because its application simplifies the process of fabricating these structures and significantly reduces the fabrication time. The experimental absorption of the metamaterial absorbers has narrowband characteristics that were consistent with the numerical simulations. Power flow analysis in the transmissive metamaterial unit cell shows that the absorption in the terahertz range occurs primarily in the SU-8 layer of the absorber.  相似文献

针对远、近场混合源定位,提出一种基于稀疏重构理论框架的远、近场混合源分离和定位算法。该算法充分考虑平面波导向矢量和球面波导向矢量的相关特性,利用远、近场声源在阵列上的响应机理的差异,针对远、近场区域分别构造过完备字典,采用多测量矢量模型下的稀疏贝叶斯学习算法重构远近场混合源的空间谱,同时完成远近场混合源的分离和定位。本文算法可以在半波长间距布放的线列阵下对混合源进行定位,适用于高斯和非高斯信号,且无需信源数和噪声功率等先验信息,并具有较高的分辨力和定位精度·计算机仿真结果验证了算法的有效性。  相似文献

A switchable terahertz (THz) polarization converter based on vanadium dioxide (VO2) metamaterial is proposed. It is a 5-layer structure which containing metal split-ring-resonator (SRR), the first polyimide (PI) spacer, VO2 film, the second PI spacer, and metal grating. It is an array structure and the period in x and y directions is 100 μm. The performance is simulated by using finite integration technology. The simulation results show that, when the VO2 is in insulating state, the device is a transmission polarization converter. The cross-linear polarization conversion can be realized in a broadband of 0.70 THz, and the polarization conversion rate (PCR) is higher than 99%. Under thermal stimulus, the VO2 changes from insulating state to metallic state, and the device is a reflective polarization converter. The linear-to-circular polarization conversion can be successfully realized in a broadband of 0.50 THz, and the PCR is higher than 88%.  相似文献

本文提出一种基于圆台形吸收单元的超宽带、极化不敏感的超材料太赫兹吸收器. 该超材料吸收器采用金属薄膜金和介质层二氧化硅交替叠加的多层结构. 采用商业软件CST Studio Suite 2009时域求解器计算了其在0–10 THz波段内的吸收率Aω),在2–10 THz之间实现了对入射太赫兹波的超宽频带强吸收. 仿真结果表明,由于其圆台形单元结构,在器件垂直方向上形成一系列不同尺寸的微型吸收器,产生了吸收频点相连的多频吸收峰. 利用不同吸收峰的耦合叠加效应,获得超过8 THz的超宽带太赫兹波吸收,吸收强度达到92.3%以上. 这一结构具有超宽带强吸收,360°极化不敏感以及易于加工等优越特性,因而在太赫兹波探测器、光谱成像以及隐身技术方面具有潜在的应用. 关键词: 太赫兹波 超材料吸收器 圆台结构 超宽带  相似文献

A thin-flexible multiband terahertz metamaterial absorber(MA) has been investigated. Each unit cell of the MA consists of a simple metal structure, which includes the top metal resonator ring and the bottom metallic ground plane,separated by a thin-flexible dielectric spacer. Finite-difference time domain simulation indicates that this MA can achieve over 99% absorption at frequencies of 1.50 THz, 3.33 THz, and 5.40 THz by properly assembling the sandwiched structure.However, because of its asymmetric structure, the MA is polarization-sensitive and can tune the absorptivity of the second absorption peak by changing the incident polarization angle. The effect of the error of the structural parameters on the absorption efficiency is also carefully analyzed in detail to guide the fabrication. Moreover, the proposed MA exhibits high refractive-index sensing sensitivity, which has potential applications in multi-wavelength sensing in the terahertz region.  相似文献

Terahertz spectroscopy, combined with a metamaterial resonator, was used to distinguish varieties of herbs that look alike to the naked eye. The metamaterial resonator, based on an ohm-ring, was experimentally demonstrated to exhibit two significant resonant peaks in the range from 0.2 to 1.4?THz. The resonant peaks were shifted to lower frequency with changes of the surface permittivity, and this feature was applied to identify varieties of herbs. In the experiment, different borneols were effectively identified according to the different degree of redshift. This work demonstrates that metamaterial resonator is a sensitive tool for terahertz spectral sensing, and shows a new detection method for different herbs.  相似文献

The terahertz (THz) spectrum absorptions of nematic liquid crystal (LC) material, i.e. N-(p-methoxybenzylidene)-p-butylaniline (MBBA), and its relevant compounds are simulated in this paper by using the density functional theory (DFT) method. A strong absorptive frequency is located at 3.65 THz for the MBBA, which is in agreement with experimental data found in the literature. The result suggests that the DFT method is effective for dealing with the anisotropic nematic LC compounds.  相似文献
