采用差示扫描量热(DSC)、一维(1D)广角X射线衍射(WAXD)、热台偏光显微镜(PLM-hotstage)等研究手段对含联苯液晶基元的侧链液晶聚炔单体5-{[(4′-正戊基氧-4-联苯基基)羰基]氧}-1-戊炔(A3EO5)的本体相转变和相结构进行了研究.DSC和1D-WAXD实验结果表明,A3EO5在升温和降温过程中均呈现四个相转变过程,形成双向性液晶.样品从各向同性态降温至室温过程中,首先形成近晶A相,随后进入层内排列具有准长程有序的近晶B相,继续降温将形成层内为正交排列的近晶E相,在此之后样品进入晶相.PLM结果指出样品在各向同性态降温过程中分别形成球状织构、角锥织构和同心圆弧织构. 相似文献

合成了氮上完全取代的邻苯二甲酰化壳聚糖 (PhthCS) .用DSC研究了PhthCS DMSO液晶溶液的热致相转变 .偏光显微镜和DSC测定都表明临界浓度为 43wt% .在浓度高于 43wt%的溶液的DSC曲线中观察到了除了液晶 各向同性液体转变 (清亮点 )外还有一个明显的凝胶 溶胶转变 .凝胶 溶胶转变温度和转变焓均比文献报道的不规则取代的N 邻苯二甲酰化 O 乙酰化壳聚糖大得多 ,可见取代的规整性对凝胶 溶较转变有很大的影响 .根据DSC研究结果绘制了PhthCS DMSO体系的相图 相似文献

根据液晶相的稳定性 ,热致性液晶有双向性和单向性之分 .前者在升温和降温过程中都能形成液晶 ,而后者只能在降温过程中形成液晶 .原因是单向性液晶的液晶相不稳定 ,清亮点Ti 低于熔点Tm .升温时 ,样品熔融后直接进入各向同性的熔体 ;降温时 ,由于结晶过程的过冷 ,冷结晶温度Tc 低于Ti,样品先从各向同性态进入液晶态 ,然后才结晶 .一般情况下 ,如果液晶化合物自身是非晶的 ,所形成的有序结构不会由于冷却而遭到破坏 .最近 ,我们在研究分子量和液晶基元末端长度对甲壳型液晶高分子液晶性影响的时候发现 ,聚 [2 ,5 双 ( 4′ 正己氧基… 相似文献

以聚(乙烯基对苯二甲酸二烷基酯)(PDAVT)为对象,用热分析、X射线衍射、流变及固体核磁共振等方法考察了甲壳型液晶高分子中存在的"低温无序、高温有序"的非寻常相行为.实验证明,在升温过程中,烷基基团为丁基、己基和辛基的PDAVT(P4、P6和P8)可从无定形态发育出柱状(Col)液晶相,导致在高温区体系模量升高.降温时P6和P8可完全回到无定形态,表现出典型的"各向同性相重入"行为.PDAVT液晶相畴的生长具有一维生长的特点,是成核控制的,升高温度可加快Col相的形成.固体核磁共振实验表明,样品从无定形态转变为Col相的过程与侧链运动性的不断加强有密切关系.我们也初步探索了剪切场或拉伸场对液晶转变的影响,发现当温度不高时,剪切或拉伸既不改变液晶转变温度,也没有提高液晶态样品的液晶化程度.综合分析多方面的实验结果可以看出,PDAVT的非寻常相行为是熵主导的.侧链的加速运动会增强"甲壳效应",Col相是侧链熵最大化的结果. 相似文献

氰乙基纤维素在二甲基甲酰胺、二甲基乙酰胺、二甲基亚砜、乙腈以及丙酮等溶剂中可以形成溶致性液晶。随浓度增加,溶液从各向同性状态经两相共存态转变成为完全的液晶态。升高温度到T_c,液晶相消失;降低温度到T′_c,液晶相再生成。T_c总大于T′_c。而且,浓度越高,过冷温度△T=T_c—T′_c越小。在各向同性,两相共存或完全的液晶状态,溶液平均折射率和消光度均与浓度呈线性关系。但在两相间相互转变时,即在C_1~*和C_2~*处,n-C和 A-C 曲线上出现转折点。高聚物与溶剂的相互作用参数X_(12)愈小,临界浓度C_1~*愈小。把描述大分子链柔顺性的参数f与X_(12)联系起来,可用 1956年 Flory的理论定性地解释溶剂对高聚物溶致性液晶形成的影响。 相似文献

This paper is concerned with an analysis of the thermodynamics and kinetics of mesophase formation by cooling from the isotropic state of side-chain liquid crystalline polycarbosilanes containing spacers in the range from 3 to 11 CH2-groups. The polymers are characterized by their thermotropic behaviour as far as temperature, enthalpy and entropy of the transitions are concerned. The kinetics was followed by optical and calorimetric methods. Longer spacer length leads to more perfect ordering in the mesophase, higher isotropization temperatures, and lower glass transition temperatures. The Avrami and Ozawa formalism to describe the transition kinetics to the mesophase from the isotropic state cannot be interpreted as the nucleation and growth mechanism known from crystallization.Dedicated to Professor Bernhard Wunderlich on the occasion of his 65th birthday 相似文献

Avrami type analysis of the data gives an exponent close to 1, which suggests the nucleation followed by one-dimensional growth. The transitions of poly(oxy-2,2′-dimethylazoxybenzene-4,4′-diyloxydodecanedioyl) (PDAD) have been analyzed by differential scanning calorimetry, optical microscopy, and light scattering. The mesophase glass devitrifies at 288 K [ΔCp = 220 J/K mol]. Crystallization from the liquid mesophase can be described between 322 and 362 K by an Avrami expression with an exponent between 3 and 4. Results of light scattering and optical microscopy are in accord with a spherulitic morphology grown after athermal nucleation. Melting of the semicrystalline samples (crystallinity up to 58%) occurs at about 391 K. The heat of fusion of the completely crystalline sample is calculated to be only 13.55 kJ/mol. The mesophase to isotropic phase transition occurs at 418 K with a heat of transition of 4.1 kJ/mol. A general discussion of these transitions is given. 相似文献

Thermotropic liquid crystalline (TLC) polymers with low melt transitions are useful for imaging technologies. This is the first report describing thermotropic liquid crystalline copolyesters of low melt transitions comprised of a mesogen with up to three different spacer moieties. Orientation molecular dynamics were investigated in a series of "defect-free" oligofluorenes by depolarized dynamic light scattering and dynamic NMR spectroscopy. Typical liquid crystalline pretransitional dynamics were observed upon cooling the isotropic phase to the liquid crystalline phase with strong increase of the scattered intensity and slowing down of the characteristic time of the probed collective relaxation. This is well accounted for by the Landau-de Gennes theory, however, with a strong temperature dependence of the viscosity coefficient, reflecting the proximity of the glass transition. For the trimer the two transitions almost overlap and the molecular orientation coincide with the alpha-relaxation associated with the glass transition. The NMR measurements confirm that the time scale of the dynamics is completely governed by the glass process, yet the geometry of the motion is anisotropic, yielding order parameters ranging from 0.15 to 0.25 for the long axis in the liquid crystalline phase. The glass transition is therefore geometrically restricted with poorly ordered mesophase which is consistent with the weak transverse phonons in the light scattering experiment down to Tg+20 K. 相似文献

The kinetics of phase transitions including a transition between mesophases were studied for a main-chain thermotropic polyester by means of DSC and depolarizing transmittance techniques. The isothermal process of these transitions was found to be described by the Avrami equation to high conversions. The Avrami exponents n are about 2,4, 5.3 and 2.2 for liquid crystallization, transition between mesophases and crystallization from mesophase respectively. The liquid crystallization from isotropic liquid phase occurs at very low undercoolings with high transformation rate. This behavior is explained as the results of the smaller value of the surface free energy for mesophase than that for crystallites which is evidenced by the very weak temperature dependence of liquid crystallization rate. 相似文献

Experimental phase diagrams of binary mesogenic mixtures of reactive mesogenic diacrylate (RM257) monomer and low molar mass liquid crystals (E7) were determined by means of differential scanning calorimetry and optical microscopy. The combined free energy densities of Flory–Huggins for liquid–liquid demixing, Maier–Saupe for nematic ordering, and phase field free energy for crystal solidification was proposed to describe the phase diagrams of the starting E7/RM257 mixtures. The phase diagram thus constructed is an ideal mixing type, exhibiting a narrow loop of isotropic + nematic (I + N) coexistence region followed by the crystal + nematic (Cr1 + N) region in descending order of temperature. Of particular interest is the permanent fixation of the mesophase structures upon photopolymerisation of neat RM257 in the corresponding nematic and crystalline phases. Upon photopolymerisation of a low RM257 content mixture in both isotropic and nematic states, the nematic–isotropic transition of E7 was found to persist. The permanent structural anchoring is seen upon photo-curing of the 90/10 RM257/E7 mixture in the crystalline state. 相似文献

The molecular structure and conformational properties of the p-butoxybenzylidene-p′-propionyloxyphenylaniline molecule in the crystalline state and at temperatures of the crystal → nematic and nematic → isotropic liquid phase transitions were examined by AM1 calculations.
