The stability of the motion of an oscillator with a periodically time-varying mass is under consideration. The key idea is that an adequate change of variables leads to a newtonian equation, where classical stability techniques can be applied: Floquet theory for the linear oscillator, KAM method in the nonlinear case. To illustrate this general idea, first we have generalized the results of [W.T. van Horssen, A.K. Abramian, Hartono, On the free vibrations of an oscillator with a periodically time-varying mass, J. Sound Vibration 298 (2006) 1166–1172] to the forced case; second, for a weakly forced Duffing’s oscillator with variable mass, the stability in the nonlinear sense is proved by showing that the first twist coefficient is not zero.  相似文献

In this paper, we generalize the classical windowed Fourier transform (WFT) to quaternion-valued signals, called the quaternionic windowed Fourier transform (QWFT). Using the spectral representation of the quaternionic Fourier transform (QFT), we derive several important properties such as reconstruction formula, reproducing kernel, isometry, and orthogonality relation. Taking the Gaussian function as window function we obtain quaternionic Gabor filters which play the role of coefficient functions when decomposing the signal in the quaternionic Gabor basis. We apply the QWFT properties and the (right-sided) QFT to establish a Heisenberg type uncertainty principle for the QWFT. Finally, we briefly introduce an application of the QWFT to a linear time-varying system.  相似文献

In this article, we propose a penalized likelihood method to estimate time-varying parameters in standard linear state space models. The time-varying parameter is modeled as a smoothing spline and then expressed as a state space model. The maximum likelihood method is used to estimate the smoothing parameter. The proposed method is assessed by a simulation study and applied to virological response data from an HIV-infected patient receiving antiretroviral treatment.  相似文献

The robust exponential stability and stabilizability problems are addressed in this paper for a class of linear parameter dependent systems with interval time-varying and constant delays. In this paper, restrictions on the derivative of the time-varying delay is not required which allows the time-delay to be a fast time-varying function. Based on the Lyapunov-Krasovskii theory, we derive delay-dependent exponential stability and stabilizability conditions in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which can be solved by various available algorithms. Numerical examples are given to illustrate the effectiveness of our theoretical results.  相似文献

This paper is concerned with the optimal model reduction for linear discrete periodic time-varying systems and digital filters. Specifically, for a given stable periodic time-varying model, we shall seek a lower order periodic time-varying model to approximate the original model in an optimal H 2 norm sense. By orthogonal projections of the original model, we convert the optimal periodic model reduction problem into an unconstrained optimization problem. Two effective algorithms are then developed to solve the optimization problem. The algorithms ensure that the H 2 cost decreases monotonically and converges to an optimal (local) solution. Numerical examples are given to demonstrate the computational efficiency of the proposed method. The present paper extends the optimal model reduction for linear time invariant systems to linear periodic discrete time-varying systems.  相似文献

The global uniform exponential stability of switched positive linear impulsive systems with time-varying delays and all unstable subsystems is studied in this paper, which includes two types of distributed time-varying delays and discrete time-varying delays. Switching behaviors dominating the switched systems can be either stabilizing and destabilizing in the new designed switching sequence. We design new linear programming algorithm process to find the feasible ratio of stabilizing switching behaviors, which can be compensated by unstable subsystems, destabilizing switching behaviors, and impulses. Speci cally, we add a kind of nonnegative impulses which is consistent with the switching behaviors for the systems. Employing a multiple co-positive Lyapunov-Krasovskii functional, we present several new sufficient stability criteria and design new switching sequence. Then, we apply the obtained stability criteria to the exponential consensus of linear delayed multi-agent systems, and obtain the new exponential consensus criteria. Three simulations are provided to demonstrate the proposed stability criteria.  相似文献

In this paper we address the design of an observer-controller for a three degrees of freedom overhead crane. We consider a linear model of the crane where the length of the suspending rope is a time-varying parameter. The set of models given by frozen values of the rope length can be reduced to a single time-invariant reference model using suitable time-scalings. We construct a controller and an observer for the reference model assigning the desired closed loop eigenvalues for both system and estimation error. The time-scaling relations can be used to derive a control law for the time-varying system that implements an implicit gain-scheduling [6]. A second gain-scheduling is used to choose suitable closed-loop eigenvalues for different values of the load and lifting/lowering operations. Using a Lyapunov-like theorem, it is also possible to find relative upper bounds for the rate of change of the varying parameter that ensure the stability of the time-varying system.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigate the problem of stabilization via state feedback and/or state-based switching for switched linear systems with mode-dependent time-varying delays. By using the multiple Lyapunov functional method, we establish sufficient conditions that guarantee the switched system is stabilizable via state feedback and/or switching under time-varying delays with appropriate upper bounds. The main results are presented in terms of linear matrix inequalities (LMIs) which generalize some known results and can be easily tested by using the Matlab’s LMI Tool-box.  相似文献

This paper introduces the application of Haar wavelets to the optimal control synthesis for linear time-varying systems. Based upon some useful properties of Haar wavelets, a special product matrix, a related coefficient matrix, and an operational matrix of backward integration are proposed to solve the adjoint equation of optimization. The results obtained by the proposed Haar approach are almost the same as those obtained by the conventional Riccati method.  相似文献

This paper is focused on global exponential stability of certain switched systems with time-varying delays. By using an average dwell time (ADT) approach that is different from the method in [P.H.A. Ngoc, On exponential stability of nonlinear differential systems with time-varying delay, Applied Mathematics Letters 25 (2012) 1208–1213], we establish a new global exponential stability criterion for the switched linear time-delay system under the ADT switching. We also apply this method to a general switched nonlinear time-delay system. A numerical example is given to show the effectiveness of our results.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the problem of positive almost periodic solutions for the generalized Nicholson’s blowflies model with a linear harvesting term and multiple time-varying delays. By applying the fixed point theorem and the Lyapunov functional method, we establish some criteria to ensure that the solutions of this model converge locally exponentially to a positive almost periodic solution.
