This paper studies the dispersion characteristics of a modified photonic band-gap slow-wave structure with an open boundary by simulation and experiment.A mode launcher with a wheel radiator and a coupling probe is presented to excite a pure TM 01-like mode.The cold test and simulation results show that the TM 01-like mode is effectively excited and no parasitic modes appear.The dispersion characteristics obtained from the cold test are in good agreement with the calculated results.  相似文献

等离子体层嘶声波对电子的散射损失是地球内外辐射带之间的槽区(1.8≤L≤3)形成的主要机制.冷等离子体色散关系被广泛地运用于量化嘶声波对高能电子的散射效应研究中,而在真实的磁层环境中,热等离子体的存在会修正嘶声波的色散特性.基于范阿伦双星的观测数据,对比了利用磁场观测数据得到的槽区嘶声波观测幅值和反演幅值,并研究了空间位置与地磁活动水平对嘶声波冷等离子体色散关系适用性的影响.结果表明,冷等离子体近似整体上高估了嘶声波的幅值,观测幅值与反演幅值的差异有着很强的日夜不对称性,而没有明显的地磁活动强度依赖性.此外发现,波动磁场的反演强度在低频(高频)处显著低于(高于)观测强度,意味着冷等离子体近似整体上高估(低估)了嘶声波对槽区较低(较高)能量电子的散射强度.研究证明,槽区嘶声波冷等离子体色散关系的适用范围有很强的空间区域与频率局限性,这对深入理解槽区电子的动态演化过程有非常重要的意义.  相似文献

提出一种数值分析周期慢波结构色散特性的模拟法,先采用时域有限差分法和离散傅里叶变换技术计算含周期慢波结构的谐振腔的谐振频率及谐振场分布,再基于周期慢波电路色散关系的周期性质,利用几个特殊色散点由数值组合技术获得周期慢波线的完整色散关系。数值计算了同轴波纹波导中TM0n模式的色散关系,亦能用于分析计算任意复杂几何结构的周期慢波线的色散关系。  相似文献

Ultrasonic Lamb waves are considered as a sensitive and effective tool for nondestructive testing and evaluation of plate-like or pipe-like structures. The nature of multimode and dispersion causes the wave packets to spread, and the modes overlap in both time and frequency domains as they propagate through the structures. By using a two-component laser interferometer technique, in combination with a priori knowledge of the dispersion characteristics and wave structure information of Lamb wave modes, a two-component signal processing technique is presented for implementing dispersion removal and mode separation simultaneously for two modes mixture signals of Lamb waves. The proposed algorithm is first processed and verified using synthetic Lamb wave signals. Then, the two-component displacements test experiment is conducted using different aluminum plate samples. Moreover, we confirm the effectiveness and robustness of this method.  相似文献

A novel, highly accurate numerical synthetic technique for determining the complete dispersive characteristics of electromagnetic modes in a spatially periodic structure is presented. The numerical method based on the coupling of the finite difference method in time domain with the discrete fourier transform is applied to calculate the eigenfrequencies and eigenfield distribution of a resonant cavity which is an appropriately shorted periodic slow wave circuit of N periods at both ends. The analytical synthetic technique, which is based on the intrinsic characteristic of spatially periodic structure, is used to derive the complete dispersion relation using the numerically measured resonances. The method was successfully applied for the case of TMon modes in a coaxial corrugated waveguide and is applicable to slow wave structures of arbitrary geometry.  相似文献

将任意形状槽的连续轮廓近似用一系列相连的矩形阶梯近似,利用各阶梯面上导纳的匹配,以及槽与互作用区边界场的连续与匹配条件,获得了具有任意槽的矩形波导栅慢波结构的色散方程和耦合阻抗的表达式,并进行理论上的验证.加工制作了矩形槽波导栅模型,冷测表明理论值与测量值相吻合.分别求解几种特殊槽形矩形波导栅慢波结构的色散特性及耦合阻抗,其中,三角形结构的色散和耦合阻抗均最弱,而倒梯形结构色散最强,耦合阻抗最大. 关键词: 矩形波导栅 任意槽 色散特性 慢波结构  相似文献

A cold and uniform plasma-filled travelling wave tube with sinusoidally corrugated slow wave structure is driven by a finite thick annular intense relativistic electron beam with the entire system immersed in a strong longitudinal magnetic field. By means of the linear field theory, the dispersion relation for the relativistic travelling wave tube (RTWT) is derived. By numerical computation, the dispersion characteristics of the RTWT are analysed in different cases of various geometric parameters of the slow wave structure and plasma densities. Also the gain versus frequency for three different plasma densities and the peak gain of the tube versus plasma density are analysed. Some useful results are obtained on the basis of the discussion.  相似文献

By employing the quantum hydrodynamic model for electron-ion-dust plasma,we derive a dispersion relation of the quantum dusty plasma.The effects of the dust size distribution on the dispersion relation in a cold quantum dusty plasma are studied.Both analytical and numerical results are given to compare the differences between the dusty plasma by considering the dust size distribution and the mono-sized dusty plasma.It is shown that many system parameters can significantly influence the dispersion relation of the quantum dusty plasma.  相似文献

We use the dispersion relation to discuss the stability and dispersive properties in a non-neutral plasma-filled waveguide. The dispersion relation for the transverse magnetic modes (TMon,) of a partially filled, dielectric-lined, cylindrical waveguide driven by a cold relativistic electron beam is derived. The effect of a gap between the electron beam and the dielectric liner is included. The dispersion relation is then used to calculate the growth rate for the Cerenkov instability in the collective tenuous beam limit. Expressions are developed for the minimum current necessary for oscillation threshold and for the power output of the Cerenkov maser in the collective regime.  相似文献

The spatio-temporal dynamics of the deformation of a vibrated plate is measured by a high speed Fourier transform profilometry technique. The space-time Fourier spectrum is analyzed. It displays a behavior consistent with the premises of the Weak Turbulence theory. A isotropic continuous spectrum of waves is excited with a non linear dispersion relation slightly shifted from the linear dispersion relation. The spectral width of the dispersion relation is also measured. The non linearity of this system is weak as expected from the theory. Finite size effects are discussed. Despite a qualitative agreement with the theory, a quantitative mismatch is observed which origin may be due to the dissipation that ultimately absorbs the energy flux of the Kolmogorov-Zakharov casade.  相似文献

Linear dispersion relation for linear wave and a Kadomtsev-Petviashvili (KP) equation for nonlinear wave are given for the unmagnetized two-ion-temperature cold dusty plasma with many different dust grain species. The numerical results of variationsof linear dispersion with respect to the different dust size distribution are given. Although it has been long that spacecraft observed the anisotropy of velocity protons in the solar wind, there is still not a reasonable explanation. In this paper we try to give an explanation from the diffusion plateau of protoncyclotron resonance predicted by the quasi-linear theory for the resonance between the protons and the parallel propagating waves. We consider the effect of dispersion relation on diffusion plateau and notice that the diffusion plateau we have got by using cold plasma dispersion relation accords with the density contours in the velocity phase space detected at 0.3 AU in fast solar wind. For explaining proton distributions obtained in the fast solar wind from 0.7 AU to 1 AU hot plasma dispersion relation should be considered. We also give a theoretical relation of proton thermal anisotropy A and plasma parameter β.  相似文献

The dispersion relation of circularly polarized waves in a cold streaming plasma is derived and is shown to be consistent with Lorentz tansforming the stationary plasma dispersion. The waves in the lab frame have modes near n = c/Vs due to the Doppler effect and therefore are relevant in sateliite wave measurements.  相似文献

The dispersion curves for surface plasma waves (SPW) in Ag have been determined from calculated reflectivity minima as exhibited by attenuated total reflection (ATR spectra) for the prism-air-metal (PAM) configuration and from the direct calculation of the dispersion relation for the same configuration. The dispersion curves for Au have been determined by measuring the ATR spectra for the prism-dielectric-metal (PDM) configuration, by calculating the ATR spectra from published optical constants and from the direct calculation of the despersion relation for the PDM configuration. We have found two general types of solutions from the direct calculation of the dispersion relation for both configurations. The two solutions are the surface or Brewster modes and the virtual modes. The characteristics of both modes are discussed. The effect of electronic damping upon the dispersion curves for Ag which exhibits low electronic damping and Au which exhibits moderate electronic damping is demonstrated. Finally the perturbing effect of the dielectric (referred herein as dielectric shift) upon the displacement of the dispersion curves to higher wave number for the PAM configuration for Ag and for the PDM configuration for Au is shown.  相似文献

We experimentally investigate the dispersion relation of silicon-on-insulator waveguides in the 1.5 microm wavelength range by using a technique based on far-field Fourier-space imaging. The phase information of the propagating modes is transferred into the far field either by linear probe gratings positioned 1 microm away from the waveguide core or by residual gratings located on the sidewalls of the waveguide. As a result, the dispersion curve of rectangular and slot waveguides as well as the group index dispersion are accurately determined.  相似文献

 优化设计了一种220 GHz的折叠波导慢波结构的尺寸,对其冷测特性如色散、耦合阻抗和衰减进行了分析。理论分析和软件仿真结果表明设计的折叠波导慢波结构在中心频率处具有较平缓的色散关系,较高的耦合阻抗和较低的电路衰减。互作用模拟表明,在电子注电压为20 kV,电流为10 mA时,27 mm(50个周期)的折叠波导慢波结构在220 GHz具有14.5 dB的增益,3 dB带宽为16.3 GHz(211.9~228.2 GHz)。  相似文献
