In this paper we define a new class of weighted complex networks sharing several properties with fractal sets, and whose topology can be completely analytically characterized in terms of the involved parameters and of the fractal dimension. General networks with fractal or hierarchical structures can be set in the proposed framework that moreover could be used to provide some answers to the widespread emergence of fractal structures in nature. 相似文献

It is shown that many real complex networks share distinctive features, such as the small-world effect and the heterogeneous property of connectivity of vertices, which are different from random networks and regular lattices. Although these features capture the important characteristics of complex networks, their applicability depends on the style of networks. To unravel the universal characteristics many complex networks have in common, we study the fractal dimensions of complex networks using the method introduced by Shanker. We find that the average 'density' (p(r ) ) of complex networks follows a better power-law function as a function of distance r with the exponent dl, which is defined as the fractal dimension, in some real complex networks. Furthermore, we study the relation between df and the shortcuts Nadd in small-world networks and the size N in regular lattices. Our present work provides a new perspective to understand the dependence of the fractal dimension df on the complex network structure. 相似文献

栅栏覆盖是传感器网络研究中的热点问题,现有有关栅栏覆盖研究大多针对静态兴趣区域的栅栏覆盖,而对于实际应用中如海洋污染、森林火灾、部队行军等的栅栏覆盖应用不适用;该文主要针对动态对象研究移动传感器网络的有效栅栏覆盖;抽象了问题模型并提出了栅栏覆盖评价指标,然后结合凸优化理论提出了一种分布式的移动栅栏覆盖算法;通过3个不同场景分别测试了算法在400*600 m的区域中随机部署有50个移动传感器节点对于不同动态对象构建一条封闭栅栏带所花费的时间以及栅栏带动态形成时的移动距离;测试结果算法能够快速有效实现动态区域的栅栏覆盖。 相似文献

This paper focuses on the dynamics of binary opinions {+1,-1} on online social networks consisting of heterogeneous actors.In our model,actors update their opinions under the interplay of social influence and selfaffirmation,which leads to rich dynamical behaviors on online social networks.We find that the opinion leading to the consensus features an advantage of the initially weighted fraction based on actors' strength over the other,instead of the population.For the role of specific actors,the consensus converges towards the opinion that a small fraction of high-strength actors hold,and individual diversity of self-affirmation slows down the ordering process of consensus.These indicate that high-strength actors play an essential role in opinion formation with strong social influence as well as high persistence.Further investigations show that the initial fraction of high-strength actors to dominate the evolution depends on the heterogeneity of the strength distribution,and less high-strength actors are needed in the case of a smaller exponent of power-law distribution of actors' strength.Our study provides deep insights into the role of social influence and self-affirmation on opinion formation on online social networks. 相似文献

Understanding the complex process of information spread in online social networks (OSNs) enables the efficient maximization/minimization of the spread of useful/harmful information. Users assume various roles based on their behaviors while engaging with information in these OSNs. Recent reviews on information spread in OSNs have focused on algorithms and challenges for modeling the local node-to-node cascading paths of viral information. However, they neglected to analyze non-viral information with low reach size that can also spread globally beyond OSN edges (links) via non-neighbors through, for example, pushed information via content recommendation algorithms. Previous reviews have also not fully considered user roles in the spread of information. To address these gaps, we: (i) provide a comprehensive survey of the latest studies on role-aware information spread in OSNs, also addressing the different temporal spreading patterns of viral and non-viral information; (ii) survey modeling approaches that consider structural, non-structural, and hybrid features, and provide a taxonomy of these approaches; (iii) review software platforms for the analysis and visualization of role-aware information spread in OSNs; and (iv) describe how information spread models enable useful applications in OSNs such as detecting influential users. We conclude by highlighting future research directions for studying information spread in OSNs, accounting for dynamic user roles. 相似文献

Finding the building blocks of real-world networks contributes to the understanding of their formation process and related dynamical processes, which is related to prediction and control tasks. We explore different types of social networks, demonstrating high structural variability, and aim to extract and see their minimal building blocks, which are able to reproduce supergraph structural and dynamical properties, so as to be appropriate for diffusion prediction for the whole graph on the base of its small subgraph. For this purpose, we determine topological and functional formal criteria and explore sampling techniques. Using the method that provides the best correspondence to both criteria, we explore the building blocks of interest networks. The best sampling method allows one to extract subgraphs of optimal 30 nodes, which reproduce path lengths, clustering, and degree particularities of an initial graph. The extracted subgraphs are different for the considered interest networks, and provide interesting material for the global dynamics exploration on the mesoscale base. 相似文献

Broadcasting is a fundamental operation in Mobile Ad hoc Networks (MANETs) whereby a source node transmits a message that is to be disseminated to all the nodes in the network. This paper shows that for several classes of MANETs with distinct topologies, the broadcasting behavior of probabilistic flooding in a network and that of blind flooding in the network possess a single mathematical form of equation under certain conditions. As an emerging computing model, edge computing greatly expands the collaboration capabilities of the servers. It makes full use of the available resources around the users to quickly complete the task request coming from the terminal devices. Task offloading is a common solution for improving the efficiency of task execution on edge networks. However, the peculiarities of the edge networks, especially the random access of mobile devices, brings unpredictable challenges to the task offloading in a mobile edge network. In this paper, we propose a trajectory prediction model for moving targets in edge networks without users’ historical paths which represents their habitual movement trajectory. We also put forward a mobility-aware parallelizable task offloading strategy based on a trajectory prediction model and parallel mechanisms of tasks. In our experiments, we compared the hit ratio of the prediction model, network bandwidth and task execution efficiency of the edge networks by using the EUA data set. Experimental results showed that our model is much better than random, non-position prediction parallel, non-parallel strategy-based position prediction. Where the task offloading hit rate is closed to the user’s moving speed, when the speed is less 12.96 m/s, the hit rate can reach more than 80%. Meanwhile, we we also find that the bandwidth occupancy is significantly related to the degree of task parallelism and the number of services running on servers in the network. The parallel strategy can boost network bandwidth utilization by more than eight times when compared to a non-parallel policy as the number of parallel activities grows. 相似文献

Identifying the most influential spreaders in online social networks plays a prominent role in affecting information dissemination and public opinions. Researchers propose many effective identification methods, such as k-shell. However, these methods are usually validated by simulating propagation models, such as epidemic-like models, which rarely consider the Push-Republish mechanism with attenuation characteristic, the unique and widely-existing spreading mechanism in online social media. To address this issue, we first adopt the Push-Republish (PR) model as the underlying spreading process to check the performance of identification methods. Then, we find that the performance of classical identification methods significantly decreases in the PR model compared to epidemic-like models, especially when identifying the top 10% of superspreaders. Furthermore, inspired by the local tree-like structure caused by the PR model, we propose a new identification method, namely the Local-Forest (LF) method, and conduct extensive experiments in four real large networks to evaluate it. Results highlight that the Local-Forest method has the best performance in accurately identifying superspreaders compared with the classical methods. 相似文献

在移动Ad Hoc网络中,随着拓扑的动态变化,路由会发生断裂。传统的稳定路由协议通常定性地考虑链路的质量,并未对链路的稳定性进行有效预测。为了适应网络拓扑的变化,建立稳定性较高的路由,提出了基于位置信息辅助的链路稳定性预测算法,并在AODV协议上进行实现,得到了基于位置辅助的按需距离矢量路由协议,即PB-AODV。在路由发现过程中,协议在节点的稳定区内选择稳定度较高的路由进行数据传送;而在路由维护阶段,PB-AODV采取链路中断预测机制,对即将中断的链路进行通告,在路由中断之前进行路由修复,建立起备份路由。实验表明:具有稳定预测算法的PB-AODV协议在综合性能上优于其他两种性能优良的路由协议,提升了网络的性能。 相似文献

Stroke is the commonest cause of disability. Novel treatments require an improved understanding of the underlying mechanisms of recovery. Fractal approaches have demonstrated that a single metric can describe the complexity of seemingly random fluctuations of physiological signals. We hypothesize that fractal algorithms applied to electroencephalographic (EEG) signals may track brain impairment after stroke. Sixteen stroke survivors were studied in the hyperacute (<48 h) and in the acute phase (∼1 week after stroke), and 35 stroke survivors during the early subacute phase (from 8 days to 32 days and after ∼2 months after stroke): We compared resting-state EEG fractal changes using fractal measures (i.e., Higuchi Index, Tortuosity) with 11 healthy controls. Both Higuchi index and Tortuosity values were significantly lower after a stroke throughout the acute and early subacute stage compared to healthy subjects, reflecting a brain activity which is significantly less complex. These indices may be promising metrics to track behavioral changes in the very early stage after stroke. Our findings might contribute to the neurorehabilitation quest in identifying reliable biomarkers for a better tailoring of rehabilitation pathways. 相似文献

Sensing and processing information from dynamically changing environments is essential for the survival of animal collectives and the functioning of human society. In this context, previous work has shown that communication between networked agents with some preference towards adopting the majority opinion can enhance the quality of error-prone individual sensing from dynamic environments. In this paper, we compare the potential of different types of complex networks for such sensing enhancement. Numerical simulations on complex networks are complemented by a mean-field approach for limited connectivity that captures essential trends in dependencies. Our results show that, whilst bestowing advantages on a small group of agents, degree heterogeneity tends to impede overall sensing enhancement. In contrast, clustering and spatial structure play a more nuanced role depending on overall connectivity. We find that ring graphs exhibit superior enhancement for large connectivity and that random graphs outperform for small connectivity. Further exploring the role of clustering and path lengths in small-world models, we find that sensing enhancement tends to be boosted in the small-world regime. 相似文献

The fractai expressions for flow rate and hydraulic conductivity for power-law fluids in a single capillary are derived based on the fractai nature of tortuous capillaries. Every parameter in the proposed expressions has clear physical meaning. The flow rate and hydraulic conductivity for power-law fluids are found to be related to the tortuosity fractal dimension and the power-law index. The flow rate for power-law fluids increases with the increasing power-law index but decreases with the increasing tortuosity fractal dimension. Good agreement between the model predictions for flow in a fractai capillary and in a converging-diverging duct is obtained. The results suggest that the fractal capillary model can be used to model the power-law fluids with different rheologicai properties. 相似文献

In this paper, to study rumor spreading, we propose a novel susceptible-infected-removed (SIR) model by introducing the trust mechanism. We derive mean-field equations that describe the dynamics of the SIR model on homogeneous networks and inhomogeneous networks. Then a steady-state analysis is conducted to investigate the critical threshold and the final size of the rumor spreading. We show that the introduction of trust mechanism reduces the final rumor size and the velocity of rumor spreading, but increases the critical thresholds on both networks. Moreover, the trust mechanism not only greatly reduces the maximum rumor influence, but also postpones the rumor terminal time, which provides us with more time to take measures to control the rumor spreading. The theoretical results are confirmed by sufficient numerical simulations. 相似文献
