自调Q、自锁模铒/镱共掺光纤激光器   总被引:4,自引:1,他引:3  
研究了结构新颖的环形腔铒/镱(Er/Yb)共掺双包层光纤激光器.为了获得高功率激光输出,使用6个激光二极管(LD)同时抽运Er/Yb共掺光纤,采用光纤光栅(FBG)Sagnac环作为波长选择器,得到了中心波长为1548.11 nm、谱线宽度为0.06 nm的窄线宽激光输出;并利用增益光纤作为可饱和吸收体,实现了自调Q、自锁模脉冲输出.当抽运功率为719 mW时,激光器输出自调Q脉冲,脉冲周期为20μs,脉冲宽度为2.8μs,脉冲的平均功率为38.4mW,峰值功率为274.3mW;当抽运功率为3.6 W时,激光器输出自锁模脉冲,脉冲宽度为4ns,平均功率为319 mW,脉冲峰值功率大于10 W,重复频率为7.937 MHz.  相似文献

A novel approach to achieving robust single-spatial-mode operation of cladding-pumped fiber lasers with multimode cores is reported. The approach is based on the use of a fiber geometry in which the core has a helical trajectory within the inner cladding to suppress laser oscillation on higher-order modes. In a preliminary proof-of-principle study, efficient single-mode operation of a cladding-pumped ytterbium-doped helical-core fiber laser with a 30 microm diameter core and a numerical aperture of 0.087 has been demonstrated. The laser yielded 60.4 W of output at 1043 nm in a beam with M2 < 1.4 for 92.6 W launched pump power from a diode stack at 976 nm. The slope efficiency at pump powers well above threshold was approximately 84%, which compares favorably with the slope efficiencies achievable with conventional straight-core Yb-doped double-clad fiber lasers.  相似文献

A continuous-wave fiber laser characterization based on a Findlay–Clay analysis is proposed. With this procedure, commonly used for solid-state lasers, information about saturation power and reabsorption loss is obtained. The knowledge of these parameters is commonly sufficient for a number of fiber oscillator design issues, but it also allows estimating values for fabrication dependent parameters, such as absorption and emission cross-sections, doping concentrations and dopant effective diffusion areas. As an application example, a single-mode low-power oscillator employing standard and well-known fiber components has been studied, providing values in good agreement with previously reported spectroscopical measurements.  相似文献

Efficient single-frequency operation of a Ho:YAG ring laser at room temperature with a traveling-wave TeO2 acousto-optic modulator to enforce unidirectional operation is reported. By use of a 2-at. % Ho3+-doped 10-mm-long Ho:YAG rod, end pumped by a cladding-pumped tunable Tm-doped silica fiber operating at 1.9 microm, the Ho:YAG ring laser yielded 3.7 W of single-frequency output at 2.1 microm in a diffraction-limited TEM00 beam with M2 < 1.1 for an incident pump power of 8.8 W. The rf power required for unidirectional operation was 0.3 W and corresponded to an increase in cavity loss for the lasing direction (due to diffraction) of only 0.5%. The prospects for further improvement in efficiency are discussed.  相似文献

We demonstrate a high-power single-mode cladding-pumped Raman fiber laser. The Raman fiber laser consists of a 1.2 km long germanium-doped double-clad fiber in a linear cavity, which is spliced to a single-mode fiber. The laser is end pumped by a multimode erbium-ytterbium-doped fiber, which is coupled to the inner cladding of the Raman fiber. The embedded core was designed to be single mode at the Raman Stokes wavelength, and up to 10 W of power was obtained at 1660 nm from the single-mode fiber end. The laser has a slope efficiency of 67% and a threshold of 6.5 W.  相似文献

 分析了Yb3+的能级结构、光谱特性以及激光发射特性。实验研究了中心波长为1 100 nm、输出功率为61.6W、斜率效率为55%的高功率掺Yb3+双包层光纤激光器。采用了两个中心波长在915 nm的高功率激光二极管分别从光纤的两端将泵浦光耦合进入光纤,采用45°对波长在(1 100±10) nm的激光高反,对波长在(915±10) nm的泵浦光高透的双色镜将激光输出,实验发现了掺Yb3+双包层光纤的合作发光效应。理论分析表明,掺Yb3+双包层光纤中合作发光效应是由Yb3+对在激光产生过程中的吸收与发射引起的。  相似文献

We present the experimental results of a 1083 nm fiber amplifier tandem pumped by 1030 nm fiber laser. The output characteristics of the tandem pumped amplifier with cladding-pump and core-pump schemes are both investigated. The 1083 nm signal laser has not been efficiently amplified when cladding-pumped by 1030 nm laser for the weak absorption of the gain fiber. The core-pump scheme works well with the amplifier. The output properties with different gain fiber length are experimentally investigated. The maximum output power is 2.4 W with power conversion efficiency of 60%.  相似文献

We report on a new method for determining dopant ion concentrations in laser materials. This method is based on optical absorption spectroscopy. In contrast to other methods used to measure the dopant concentration that are based on absorption measurements, this method does not require the knowledge of the absorption cross sections. An advantage of this method compared to the micro probe analysis is that only concentrations of dopant ions of a certain valency, which are luminescent, are detected. The method is sensitive especially for small doping concentrations of ions with high absorption cross sections. Another application of this method is the determination of the ratio between luminescent dopant ions to the total number of dopant ions in the case that not all dopant ions are on crystal sites that allow for optical transitions.  相似文献

We demonstrate a cladding-pumped single-mode plane-polarized ytterbium-doped fiber laser generating 633 W of continuous-wave output power at 1.1 microm with 67% slope efficiency and a polarization extinction ratio better than 16 dB. The laser is end pumped through both fiber ends and shows no evidence of roll-over, even at the highest output power, which is limited only by the available pump power.  相似文献

A high-power 83 W cladding-pumped Tm3+-Ho3+-doped silica fiber laser is reported. Using bidirectional 793 nm diode pumping, a maximum slope efficiency of 42% was produced after a threshold launched pump power of 12 W was exceeded. The laser operated at wavelengths near 2105 nm with moderate beam quality, i.e., M2 approximately 1.5. Further power scaling of the fiber laser was limited by thermal failure of the fiber ends.  相似文献

An all‐fiber laser generating a cylindrical vector beam is proposed and demonstrated using a home‐made ring‐core Yb‐doped fiber (RC‐YDF). In the RC‐YDF, not only annular doping but also ring‐type beam pump is realized. This is believed to be the first report describing the realization of annular doping and ring‐type beam pump in active fiber simultaneously, which can enhance the efficiency for high‐order mode oscillation. This laser operates in the high‐order mode stably with a slope efficiency of as high as 55.7%. Cylindrical vector modes can be obtained easily through adjusting the polarization controller. This work may have great potential for providing high‐efficiency and high‐power cylindrical vector beam and vortex beam sources.  相似文献

We report on a passive cavity-enhanced Yb-fiber laser frequency comb generating 230 MW of peak power (3 kW of average power) at a 136 MHz pulse repetition rate. The intracativy peak intensity of 3 x 10(14) W/cm2 for the 95 fs pulse is sufficient to ionize noble gases, such as Xe, Kr, or Ar. The laser system is based on a mode-locked Yb-fiber similariton oscillator in conjunction with a cladding-pumped chirped-pulse fiber amplifier. After recompression, 75 fs duration pulses at a 13.1 W average power are obtained. These pulses are then coherently added inside a passive ring cavity by controlling the fiber oscillator's pulse repetition rate and carrier-envelope offset frequency. This system is well suited for studying high-field phenomena at very high pulse repetition rates.  相似文献

Suppression of stimulated Raman scattering (SRS) is demonstrated in a cladding-pumped fiber amplifier. The Yb-doped amplifier fiber design incorporates a high-index ring that resonantly couples SRS wavelengths out of the gain material, thus filtering the gain. Modeling shows that fiber asymmetry plays an important role in the filtering spectrum.  相似文献

<正>A new method to obtain linear polarization operation by Brewster's angle-polished fiber end is demonstrated. By using the special polarization operation technique together with introducing a narrow-linewidth fiber grating into the laser cavity,a cladding-pumped linear polarization and single-transverse-mode (M~21.1) Yb-doped fiber laser with narrow linewidth whose full-width at half-maximm(FWHM) is less than 0.2 nm,is obtained in a simple configuration.The output power is up to 10 W which is continuouswave output at 1085 nm,and the slope efficiency is 63%with respect to the coupled pump power and 75%with respect to the absorbed pump power,respectively.The measured 21-dB polarization extinction ratio does not degrade with the output power.The simplicity of such an approach is highly beneficial for a number of applications,including the use of a fiber laser for the nonlinear wavelength conversion (especially for the intracavity frequency doubling) and for the coherent and spectral beam combination.  相似文献

测量了不同组份比例x的CdS_xSe_(1-x)/ZnS(核/壳)量子点的吸收谱和发射谱,确定了量子点的吸收系数、吸收截面和发射截面.量子点吸收截面随粒径的增大而增大、随x的增大而减小.采用紫外固化胶,制备了掺杂浓度为0.1~5mg/mL的CdS_(0.4)Se_(0.6)/ZnS量子点光纤,测量了不同掺杂浓度量子点光纤中473nm泵浦功率的吸收衰减速率.吸收衰减速率和吸收截面弱关联于掺杂浓度.测量了光致荧光光谱强度随光纤长度和量子点浓度的变化.量子点光纤的光致荧光峰值强度随掺杂浓度和光纤长度变化而变化,且存在一个与最大峰值强度对应的饱和掺杂浓度和光纤长度.本文的实验结果有助于进一步构建新型的CdS_xSe_(1-x)/ZnS量子点增益型光电子器件.  相似文献

设计了级联式全光纤1018nm光源。该光源采用两级级联放大方案,实现了对低功率1018nm种子光的放大,获得了4.2W的最大输出功率,并分析了影响放大效率的因素。以获得的1018nm激光为抽运源,进行了1070nm信号光的同带抽运放大器实验研究,测量了放大器的输出特性。在纤芯抽运实验中,获得了明显的放大效果和较高的功率转换效率。进行了瓦量级包层同带抽运的实验研究,分析了导致包层抽运实验中功率转换效率偏低的原因并提出了解决方案。  相似文献

The results of the recent major efforts in power scaling of resonantly cladding-pumped Yb-free Er fiber lasers are presented. Commercially available Yb-free Er-doped large mode area Er60-20/125 (LMA) DC fibers were tested in two regimes: (i), as a booster amplifier in a single-frequency (SF) MOPA configuration and, (ii), in a Bragg grating (FBG) based narrowband fiber laser configuration. We obtained ~28.5 W of output power at 1590 nm, the highest power reported so far out of Yb-free Er-doped LMA fiber with resonant cladding pumping. The achieved optical-to-optical conversion slope efficiency of ~56.6% is also believed to be the highest efficiency ever reported from Yb-free Er-doped fiber laser with resonant cladding pumping.  相似文献

Sulfur doping of silicon beyond the solubility limit by femtosecond laser irradiation leads to near-unity broadband absorption of visible and infrared light and the realization of silicon-based infrared photodetectors. The nature of the infrared absorption is not yet well understood. Here we present a study on the reduction of infrared absorptance after various anneals of different temperatures and durations for three chalcogens (sulfur, selenium, and tellurium) dissolved into silicon by femtosecond laser irradiation. For sulfur doping, we irradiate silicon in SF6 gas; for selenium and tellurium, we evaporate a film onto the silicon and irradiate in N2 gas; lastly, as a control, we irradiated untreated silicon in N2 gas. Our analysis shows that the deactivation of infrared absorption after thermal annealing is likely caused by dopant diffusion. We observe that a characteristic diffusion length—common to all three dopants—leads to the reduction of infrared absorption. Using diffusion theory, we suggest a model in which grain size of the resolidified surface layer can account for this characteristic diffusion length, indicating that deactivation of infrared absorptance may be caused by precipitation of the dopant at the grain boundaries.  相似文献
