If the standard model (SM) Higgs particle is sufficiently heavy, then its contribution to should be largely imaginary, interfering with the also predominantly imaginary SM “background” generated by the W loop. For standard model Higgs masses in the region GeV, this interference is found to be constructive and increasing the Higgs signal. In the minimal SUSY case an interference effect should also appear for the contribution of the heavier CP-even neutral Higgs boson , provided it is sufficiently heavy. The effect is somewhat reduced, though, by the smallness of the width and the and ZZ branching ratios. The interference is again found to be constructive for part of the parameter space corresponding to sfermion masses at the TeV scale and maximal stop mixing. For both the SM and the SUSY case, regions of the parameter space exist, though, where the interference may be destructive. It is therefore essential to take these effects into account when searching for possible scalar Higgs-like candidates. To this aim, we present the complete analytic expressions for both resonance and background amplitudes. New NLO calculations have become available using resummed radiative corrections. Using these calculations we perform a global fit of the supergravity inspired constrained minimal supersymmetric model. We find that the resummed calculations show similar constraints as the LO calculations, namely that only with a relatively heavy supersymmetric mass spectrum of (1 TeV) the b– Yukawa unification and the rate can coexist in the large scenario. The resummed calculations are found to reduce the renormalization scale uncertainty considerably. The low scenario is excluded by the present Higgs limits from LEP II. The constraint from the Higgs limit in the plane is severe, if the trilinear coupling at the GUT scale is fixed to zero, but is considerably reduced for . The relatively heavy SUSY spectrum required by corresponds to a Higgs mass of GeV in the CMSSM. Received: 14 February 2001 / Revised version: 22 March 2001 / Published online: 29 June 2001  相似文献

We present the machine parameters and physics capabilities of the CLIC Higgs Experiment (CLICHE), a low-energy collider based on CLIC 1, the demonstration project for the higher-energy two-beam accelerator CLIC. CLICHE is conceived as a factory capable of producing around 20,000 light Higgs bosons per year. We discuss the requirements for the CLIC 1 beams and a laser backscattering system capable of producing a total (peak) luminosity of cm-2s-1 with GeV. We show how CLICHE could be used to measure accurately the mass, , WW and decays of a light Higgs boson. We illustrate how these measurements may distinguish between the Standard Model Higgs boson and those in supersymmetric and more general two-Higgs-doublet models, complement ing the measurements to be made with other accelerators. We also comment on other prospects in and physics with CLICHE. Received: 20 November 2001 / Published online: 24 March 2003  相似文献

A review of the Higgs and neutralino sector of supersymmetric models is presented. This includes the upper limit on the mass of the lightest Higgs boson in the minimal supersymmetric standard model, as well as models based on the standard model gauge groupSU(2) L xU(l) Y with extended Higgs sectors. We then discuss the Higgs sector of left-right supersymmetric models, which conserveR-parity as a consequence of gauge invariance, and present a calculable upper bound on the mass of the lightest Higgs boson in these models. We also discuss the neutralino sector of general supersymmetric models based on the SM gauge group. We show that, as a consequence of gauge coupling unification, an upper bound on the mass of the lightest neutralino as a function of the gluino mass can be obtained.  相似文献

Decays into neutralinos and charginos are among the most accessible supersymmetric decay modes of Higgs particles in most supersymmetric extensions of the standard model. In the presence of explicitly CP violating phases in the soft breaking sector of the theory, the couplings of Higgs bosons to charginos and neutralinos are in general complex. Based on a specific benchmark scenario of CP violation, we analyze the phenomenological impact of explicit CP violation in the minimal supersymmetric standard model on these Higgs boson decays. The presence of CP violating phases could be confirmed either directly through the measurement of a CP odd polarization asymmetry of the produced charginos and neutralinos, or through the dependence of CP even quantities (branching ratios and masses) on these phases. We present the effects of heavy CP-even (H) and CP-odd (A) Higgs bosons on the production cross section of the process at the energy around the mass poles of the Higgs bosons. It is found that interference between H and A with small mass gap, as well as the ones between Higgs bosons and continuum, contributes to the cross section, if the photon beams are polarized and if we observe the helicity of the top quarks. It is demonstrated in the framework of the minimal supersymmetric extension of the standard model that the H and A contributions can be sizable at future colliders for small values of . The methods to measure the CP-parity of the Higgs boson are also presented. The statistical significance of detecting the Higgs signals and measuring the Higgs CP-parity is evaluated. We give explicit expressions for the amplitudes associated with the supersymmetric (SUSY) contributions to the process in the context of SUSY extensions of the standard model (SM) with non-universal soft SUSY breaking terms. From experimental data we deduce limits on the squark mass insertions obtained from different contributions (gluinos, neutralinos and charginos). The neutralino sector in inspired supersymmetric models with extra neutral gauge bosons and singlet Higgs fields contains additional gaugino and singlino states compared to the MSSM. We discuss the neutralino mixing in rank-5 and rank-6 models and analyze the supersymmetric parameter space where the light neutralinos have mainly singlino or MSSM character. The neutralino character, resonance effects of the new gauge bosons and, assuming mSUGRA-type RGEs, different selectron masses lead to significant differences between the MSSM and the extended models in neutralino production at an linear collider. Beam polarization may improve the signatures to distinguish between the models. In an appendix, we present the mass terms of the gauge bosons, charginos and sfermions which show a significant different mass spectrum than in the MSSM and give all relevant neutralino couplings. In this work, we make the first study of electroweak baryogenesis(EWBG) based on the LHC data in the CP-violating next-to-minimal supersymmetric model(NMSSM) where a strongly first order electroweak phase transition(EWPT) is obtained in the general complex Higgs potential. With representative benchmark points which pass the current LEP and LHC constraints, we demonstrate the structure of EWPT for those points and how a strongly first order EWPT is obtained in the complex NMSSM where the resulting gravitational wave production properties are found to be within the reaches of future space-based interferometers like BBO and Ultimate-DECIGO. We further calculate the generated baryon asymmetries where the CP violating sources are(1): higgsino-singlino dominated,(2): higgsino-gaugino dominated or(3): from both sources. It is shown that all three representing scenarios could evade the strong constraints set by various electric dipole moments(EDM) searches where cancellations among the EDM contributions occur at the tree level(higgsino-singlino dominated) or loop level(higgsino-gaugino dominated). The 125 GeV SM like Higgs can be either the second lightest neutral Higgs H_2 or the third lightest neutral Higgs H_3. Finally, we comment on the future direct and indirect probe of CPV in the Higgs sector from the collider and EDM experiments.  相似文献

On non-commutative spacetime, the standard model (SM) allows new, usually SM forbidden, triple gauge boson interactions to occur. In this letter we propose the SM strictly forbidden and decay modes coming from the gauge sector of the non-commutative standard model (NCSM) as a place where non-commutativity could be experimentally discovered. We study the helicity amplitudes of the process at high energy, which in the standard and SUSY models first arise at the one-loop order. In the standard model (SM), the diagrams involve , charged-quark, and lepton loops, while in SUSY, we also have contributions from chargino-, charged-sfermion, and Higgs-loop diagrams. The SUSY contributions are most important in the region above the threshold for producing the supersymmetric partners; there, they interfere most effectively with the primarily imaginary SM amplitudes. Simple expressions for the relevant one-loop functions are given which provide a direct overview of the behaviour of the helicity amplitudes in the whole parameter space at high energies. The various characteristics of a large set of observables are studied in detail. Received: 3 February 1999 / Pulished online: 30 June 1999  相似文献

We assess the potential of future electron-positron linear colliders operating in the mode in detecting charged Higgs bosons with mass around and larger than the top quark mass, using Compton back-scattered photons from laser light. We compare the pair production mode, , to a variety of channels involving only one charged Higgs scalar in the final state, such as the tree-level processes ( and ) and ( and ) as well as the loop-induced channel . We show that, when the charged Higgs boson mass is smaller than or comparable to half the collider energy, , single production cross sections are of the same size as the pair production rate, whereas, for charged Higgs boson masses larger than , all processes are heavily suppressed. In general, production cross sections of charged Higgs bosons via scatterings are smaller than those induced at an collider and the latter represents a better option to produce and analyse such particles. The Higgs boson mass spectrum and couplings of the neutral Higgs bosons to the fermions are worked out in a CP spontaneously broken two-Higgs doublet model in the large case. The differential branching ratio, forward-backward asymmetry, CP asymmetry and lepton polarization for are computed. It is shown that the effects of neutral Higgs bosons are quite significant when is large. Especially, the CP violating normal polarization can be as large as several percents. This article reviews recent measurements of the properties of the standard model (SM) Higgs boson using data recorded with the CMS detector at the LHC: its mass, width and couplings to other SM particles. We also summarise highlights from searches for new physical phenomena in the Higgs sector as they are proposed in many extensions of the SM: flavour violating and invisible decay modes, resonances decaying into Higgs bosons and searches for additional Higgs bosons.  相似文献

We study the helicity amplitudes and the observables of the process at high energy. As in the case of the process studied before, the relevant diagrams in the standard model (SM) involve W, charged-quark, and lepton loops, while in SUSY we also have contributions from charginos and charged-sfermion or Higgs-loop diagrams. Above 250 GeV, the dominant SM amplitudes are themselves dominated by the W loop, and as for , they are helicity conserving and almost purely imaginary. We discuss the complementary information provided by for the identification of possible nonstandard effects. This process, together with , should provide very useful information on the nature of possible new physics particles, above the threshold of their direct production. During the twelve years of operation of thee + e collider LEP, the associated collaborations, ALEPH, DELPHI, L3 and OPAL, have extensively searched for Higgs bosons over a broad range of masses. We present the final results from LEP for the standard model Higgs boson which are obtained from a statistical combination of the data from the four experiments. We also present preliminary combined results for neutral Higgs bosons in the minimal supersymmetric model (MSSM) where the Higgs sector is assumed to be CP invariant. Finally, we discuss an alternative MSSM scenario including CP violation in the Higgs sector.  相似文献

Though the predictions of the standard model (SM) are in excellent agreement with experiments, there are still several theoretical problems associated with the Higgs sector of the SM, where it is widely believed that some new physics will take over at the TeV scale. One beyond the SM theory which resolves these problems is the Little Higgs (LH) model. In this work we have investigated the effects of the LH model on γγγγ scattering [1].   相似文献

We study the interference of resonant Higgs boson exchange in neutralino production in m+ m-\mu^ + \mu^- annihilation with longitudinally polarized beams. We use the energy distribution of the decay lepton in the process [(c)\tilde]0j ? l± [(l)\tilde]\tilde{\chi}^0_j \to \ell^{\pm} \tilde{\ell}^\mp to determine the polarization of the neutralinos. In the CP-conserving minimal supersymmetric standard model a non-vanishing asymmetry in the lepton energy spectrum is caused by the interference of Higgs boson exchange channels with different CP-eigenvalues. The contribution of this interference is large if the heavy neutral bosons H and A are nearly degenerate. We show that the asymmetry can be used to determine the couplings of the neutral Higgs bosons to the neutralinos. In particular, the asymmetry allows one to determine the relative phase of the couplings. We find large asymmetries and cross sections for a set of reference scenarios with nearly degenerate neutral Higgs bosons.  相似文献

Within the framework of the minimal non-minimal supersymmetric standard model (MNMSSM) with tadpole terms, CP violation effects in the Higgs sector are investigated at the one-loop level, where the radiative corrections from the loops of the quark and squarks of the third generation are taken into account. Assuming that the squark masses are not degenerate, the radiative corrections due to the stop and sbottom quarks give rise to CP phases which trigger the CP violation explicitly in the Higgs sector of the MNMSSM. The masses, the branching ratios for dominant decay channels, and the total decay widths of the five neutral Higgs bosons in the MNMSSM are calculated in the presence of explicit CP violation. The dependence of these quantities on the CP phases is quite recognizable, for given parameter values.  相似文献

I briefly review the Higgs sector in the standard model (SM) and its minimal aupersymmetric extension, the MSSM. After summarizing the properties of the Higgs bosons and the present experimental constraints, I will discuss the prospects for discovering these particle at the upgraded Tevatron, the large hadron collider (LHC) and a high-energye + e linear collider. The possibility of studying the properties of the Higgs particles will be then summarized.  相似文献
