We consider the Gibbs statistical ensemble. We introduce the statistical-weight operator , construct the entropy operator of the ensemble using the Boltzmann formula , and define the free-energy operator. Functional Quantization and Small Ball Probabilities for Gaussian Processes   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1  
Quantization consists in studying the L r -error induced by the approximation of a random vector X by a vector (quantized version) taking a finite number n of values. We investigate this problem for Gaussian random vectors in an infinite dimensional Banach space and in particular, for Gaussian processes. A precise link proved by Fehringer(4) and Dereich et al. (3) relates lower and upper bounds for small ball probabilities with upper and lower bounds for the quantization error, respectively. We establish a complete relationship by showing that the same holds for the direction from the quantization error to small ball probabilities. This allows us to compute the exact rate of convergence to zero of the minimal L r -quantization error from logarithmic small ball asymptotics and vice versa.  相似文献

A symplectic fibration is a fibre bundle in the symplectic category (a bundle of symplectic fibres over a symplectic base with a symplectic structure group). We find the relation between the deformation quantization of the base and the fibre, and that of the total space. We consider Fedosov's construction of deformation quantization. We generalize the Fedosov construction to the quantization with values in a bundle of algebras. We find that the characteristic class of deformation of a symplectic fibration is the weak coupling form of Guillemin, Lerman, and Sternberg. We also prove that the classical moment map could be quantized if there exists an equivariant connection.  相似文献

Abstract

We propose a new approach to quantize the marginals of the discrete Euler diffusion process. The method is built recursively and involves the conditional distribution of the marginals of the discrete Euler process. Analytically, the method raises several questions like the analysis of the induced quadratic quantization error between the marginals of the Euler process and the proposed quantizations. We show in particular that at every discretization step tk of the Euler scheme, this error is bounded by the cumulative quantization errors induced by the Euler operator, from times t0 = 0 to time tk. For numerics, we restrict our analysis to the one-dimensional setting and show how to compute the optimal grids using a Newton–Raphson algorithm. We then propose a closed formula for the companion weights and the transition probabilities associated to the proposed quantizations. This allows us to quantize in particular diffusion processes in local volatility models by reducing dramatically the computational complexity of the search of optimal quantizers while increasing their computational precision with respect to the algorithms commonly proposed in this framework. Numerical tests are carried out for the Brownian motion and for the pricing of European options in a local volatility model. A comparison with the Monte Carlo simulations shows that the proposed method may sometimes be more efficient (w.r.t. both computational precision and time complexity) than the Monte Carlo method.  相似文献

F. A. Berezin [Math. USSR Izvestiya 8 (1974), 1109--1163] was able to establish a quantization procedure on which has recently attracted some interest. The only known instances when the above condition is satisfied, however, are just and a bounded symmetric domain (with the euclidean and the Bergman metric, respectively). In this paper, we extend the quantization procedure to the case when the above condition is satisfied only asymptotically, in an appropriate sense, as . This makes the procedure applicable to a wide class of complex Kähler manifolds, including all planar domains with the Poincaré metric (if the domain is of hyperbolic type) or the euclidean metric (in the remaining cases) and some pseudoconvex domains in . Along the way, we also fix two gaps in Berezin's original paper, and discuss, for a domain in , a variant of the quantization which uses weighted Bergman spaces with respect to the Lebesgue measure instead of the Kähler-Liouville measure .

We find all independent classical solutions for the three-mode Nambu–Goto string. We investigate the geometry of the closed curves obtained. Canonical quantization is performed for a part of the solutions obtained. We consider the spectrum of the quantum states obtained. It is consistent with the experimental masses and quantum numbers of mesons corresponding to glueballs. In this paper we study the quantization stage that is implicit in any compressed sensing signal acquisition paradigm. We propose using Sigma–Delta (ΣΔ) quantization and a subsequent reconstruction scheme based on convex optimization. We prove that the reconstruction error due to quantization decays polynomially in the number of measurements. Our results apply to arbitrary signals, including compressible ones, and account for measurement noise. Additionally, they hold for sub-Gaussian (including Gaussian and Bernoulli) random compressed sensing measurements, as well as for both high bit-depth and coarse quantizers, and they extend to 1-bit quantization. In the noise-free case, when the signal is strictly sparse we prove that by optimizing the order of the quantization scheme one can obtain root-exponential decay in the reconstruction error due to quantization.  相似文献

Complexity in nature is astounding yet the explanation lies in the fundamental laws of physics. The Second Law of Thermodynamics and the Principle of Least Action are the two theories of science that have always stood the test of time. In this article, we use these fundamental principles as tools to understand how and why things happen. In order to achieve that, it is of absolute necessity to define things precisely yet preserving their applicability in a broader sense. We try to develop precise, mathematically rigorous definitions of the commonly used terms in this context, such as action, organization, system, process, etc., and in parallel argue the behavior of the system from the first principles. In this paper, we are concerned with oscillatory and asymptotic behavior of third order nonlinear delay dynamic equations with damping term on time scales. By using a generalized Riccati function and inequality technique, we establish some new oscillatory and asymptotic criteria. The established results on one hand extend some known results in the literature, on the other hand unify continuous and discrete analysis as two special cases of an arbitrary time scale. We study a problem of the geometric quantization for the quaternionprojective space. First we explain a Kähler structure on the punctured cotangent bundleof the quaternion projective space, whose Kähler form coincides withthe natural symplectic form on the cotangent bundle and show thatthe canonical line bundle of this complex structure is holomorphicallytrivial by explicitly constructing a nowhere vanishing holomorphicglobal section. Then we construct a Hilbert space consisting of acertain class of holomorphic functions on the punctured cotangentbundle by the method ofpairing polarization and incidentally we construct an operatorfrom this Hilbert space to the L 2 space of the quaternionprojective space. Also we construct a similar operator between thesetwo Hilbert spaces through the Hopf fiberation.We prove that these operators quantizethe geodesic flow of the quaternion projective space tothe one parameter group of the unitary Fourier integral operatorsgenerated by the square root of the Laplacian plus suitable constant.Finally we remark that the Hilbert space above has the reproducing kernel.  相似文献
