The C*-algebra generated by the Bergman and anti-Bergman projections and by the operators of multiplication by piecewise continuous functions on the Lebesgue space L2(Π) over the upper half-plane is studied. Making use of a local principle, limit operators techniques, and the Plamenevsky results on two-dimensional singular integral operators with coefficients admitting homogeneous discontinuities we reduce the study to simpler C*-algebras associated with points and pairs We construct a symbol calculus for unital C*-algebras generated by n orthogonal projections sum of which equals the unit and by m one-dimensional orthogonal projections. Such algebras are models of local algebras at points z ∈∂Π being the discontinuity points of coefficients. A symbol calculus for the C*- algebra and a Fredholm criterion for the operators are obtained. Finally, a C*-algebra isomorphism between the quotient algebra where is the ideal of compact operators, and its analogue for the unit disk is constructed.  相似文献

There are exactlytwo non-equivalent [32,11,12]-codes in the binaryReed-Muller code which contain and have the weight set {0,12,16,20,32}. Alternatively, the 4-spaces in the projective space over the vector space for which all points have rank 4 fall into exactlytwo orbits under the natural action of PGL(5) on .  相似文献

We compare the two recently introduced semidirect product operations *r and *rr within the lattice of e-varieties of locally inverse semigroups. For each e-variety which contains all rectangular bands and is properly contained in the e-variety of all completely simple semigroups, the inclusions are proved where is the e-variety of all semilattices and the variety of all abelian groups of exponent dividing q where q is any integer greater than one. Some consequences for the class of finite locally inverse semigroups are also obtained.  相似文献

The sporadic simple group F 2 known as Fischer's Baby Monster acts flag-transitively on a rank 5 P-geometry . P-geometries are geometries with string diagrams, all of whose nonempty edges except one are projective planes of order 2 and one terminal edge is the geometry of the Petersen graph. Let be a flag-transitive P-geometry of rank 5. Suppose that each proper residue of is isomorphic to the corresponding residue in . We show that in this case is isomorphic to . This result realizes a step in classification of the flag-transitive P-geometries and also plays an important role in the characterization of the Fischer–Griess Monster in terms of its 2-local parabolic geometry.  相似文献

Let be a unital C*-algebra and G the group of units of . A geometrical study of the action of G over the set + of all positive elements of is presented. The orbits of elements with closed range by this action are provided with a structure of differentiable homogeneous space with a natural connection. The orbits are partitioned in 'components' which also have a rich geometrical structure.  相似文献

Abstract. T. Kato [9] found an important property of semi-Fredholm pencils, now called the Kato decomposition. Few years later, M.A. Kaashoek [7] introduced operators having the property as a generalization of semi-Fredholm operators. In [4], it is proved that these two notions are linked. The aim of this work is to study the stability of the property under finite perturbation.  相似文献

We study two questions posed by Johnson, Lindenstrauss, Preiss, and Schechtman, concerning the structure of level sets of uniform and Lipschitz quotient mappings from . We show that if , is a uniform quotient mapping then for every has a bounded number of components, each component of separates and the upper bound of the number of components depends only on and the moduli of co-uniform and uniform continuity of .Next we prove that all level sets of any co-Lipschitz uniformly continuous mapping from to are locally connected, and we show that for every pair of a constant and a function with , there exists a natural number , so that for every co-Lipschitz uniformly continuous map with a co-Lipschitz constant and a modulus of uniform continuity , there exists a natural number and a finite set with card so that for all has exactly components, has exactly components and each component of is homeomorphic with the real line and separates the plane into exactly 2 components. The number and form of components of for are also described - they have a finite tree structure.  相似文献

Let be a finite-dimensional projective space and be the Grassmannian consisting of all k-dimensional subspaces of . In the paper we show that transformations of sending base subsets to base subsets are induced by collineations of to itself or to the dual projective space . This statement generalizes the main result of the authors paper [19].  相似文献

To every egglike inversive plane there is associated a family of involutions of the point set of such that circles of are the fixed point sets of the involutions in . Korchmaros and Olanda characterized a family of involutions on a set of size n2 + 1to be for an egglike inversive plane of order n by four conditions. In this paper, we give an alternative proof where the Galois space PG(3,n) in which is embedded is built up directly by using concepts and results on finite linear spaces.  相似文献

For a discrete group G, we prove that a G-map between proper GCW-complexes induces an isomorphism in G-equivariant K-homology if it induces an isomorphism in C-equivariant K-homology for every finite cyclic subgroup C of G. As an application, we show that the source of the Baum–Connes assembly map, namely K * G (E(G, in)), is isomorphic to K * G (E(G, )), where E(G, ) denotes the classifying space for the family of finite cyclic subgroups of G. Letting be the family of virtually cyclic subgroups of G, we also establish that and related results.  相似文献

Cancellative residuated lattices are natural generalizations of lattice-ordered groups ( -groups). Although cancellative monoids are defined by quasi-equations, the class of cancellative residuated lattices is a variety. We prove that there are only two commutative subvarieties of that cover the trivial variety, namely the varieties generated by the integers and the negative integers (with zero). We also construct examples showing that in contrast to -groups, the lattice reducts of cancellative residuated lattices need not be distributive. In fact we prove that every lattice can be embedded in the lattice reduct of a cancellative residuated lattice. Moreover, we show that there exists an order-preserving injection of the lattice of all lattice varieties into the subvariety lattice of .We define generalized MV-algebras and generalized BL-algebras and prove that the cancellative integral members of these varieties are precisely the negative cones of -groups, hence the latter form a variety, denoted by . Furthermore we prove that the map that sends a subvariety of -groups to the corresponding class of negative cones is a lattice isomorphism from the lattice of subvarieties of to the lattice of subvarieties of . Finally, we show how to translate equational bases between corresponding subvarieties, and briefly discuss these results in the context of R. McKenzies characterization of categorically equivalent varieties.  相似文献

The projective plane is embedded as a variety of projective points in , where M is a nine dimensional -module for the groupG=GL(3,q 2). The hyperplane sections of thisvariety and their stabilizers in the group G aredetermined. When q 2 (mod 3) one such hyperplanesection is a member of the family of Kantor's unitary ovoids. We furtherdetermine all sections whereD has codimension two in M and demonstratethat these are never empty. Consequences are drawn for Kantor'sovoids.  相似文献

A d-web in ( ,0) is given by d complex analytic foliations of codimension one in ( ,0) which are in general position. A d-web in ( ,0) is linear if all the leaves are (pieces of) hyperplanes in and is algebraic if it is associated, by duality, to a nondegenerate algebraic curve in of degree d. We characterize linear webs in ( ,0). We give explicit conditions under which a linear d-web in ( ,0) is algebraic and we obtain equations for in this case. Some related problems are discussed and some questions are posed.  相似文献

Using an analog of the classical Frobenius recursion, we define the notion of a Frobenius -homomorphism. For , this is an ordinary ring homomorphism. We give a constructive proof of the following theorem. Let X be a compact Hausdorff space, the th symmetric power of X, and the algebra of continuous complex-valued functions on X with the sup-norm; then the evaluation map defined by the formula identifies the space with the space of all Frobenius -homomorphisms of the algebra into with the weak topology.  相似文献

Let be an Abelian unital C *-algebra and let denote its Gelfand spectrum. We give some necessary and sufficient conditions for a nondegenerate representation of to be unitarily equivalent to a representation in which the elements of act multiplicatively, by their Gelfand transforms, on a space L 2( ,), where is a positive measure on the Baire sets of . We also compare these conditions with the multiplicity-free property of a representation.  相似文献
