We study generalized group actions on differentiable manifolds in the Colombeau framework, extending previous work on flows of generalized vector fields and symmetry group analysis of generalized solutions. We are concerned with analyzing hyperbolic equations with distributional coefficients. We focus on the case of coefficients with jump discontinuities considered earlier by Hurd and Sattinger in their proof of the breakdown of global distributional solutions. Within the framework of Colombeau generalized functions, however, Oberguggenberger showed the existence and uniqueness of a global solution. Within this framework we develop further a microlocal analysis to understand the propagation of singularities of such Colombeau solutions. To achieve this we introduce a refined notion of a wave-front set, extending Hörmander's definition for distributions. We show how the coefficient singularities modify the classical relation of the wave front set of the solution and the characteristic set of the operator, with a generalized notion of characteristic set.  相似文献

In this paper we give a theoretical foundation to the asymptotical development proposed by V. P. Maslov for shock type singular solutions of conservations laws, in the framework of Colombeau theory of generalized functions. Indeed, operating with Colombeau differential algebra of simplified generalized functions, we proof that Hugoniot–Maslov chains are necessary conditions for the existence of shock waves in conservation laws with polynomial flows. A quasilinear equation of divergent type with singular data and singular coefficients is approximated by a net of equations of the same type with enough regular coefficients and data. Solutions of the net of equations are obtained by the classical methods. Known a priory estimates are improved so that a net of solutions can be considered as a solution in an appropriate algebra of generalized functions.  相似文献

Generalized tensor analysis in the sense of Colombeau's construction is employed to introduce a nonlinear distributional pseudo-Riemannian geometry. In particular, after deriving several characterizations of invertibility in the algebra of generalized functions, we define the notions of generalized pseudo-Riemannian metric, generalized connection and generalized curvature tensor. We prove a ``Fundamental Lemma of (pseudo-) Riemannian geometry' in this setting and define the notion of geodesics of a generalized metric. Finally, we present applications of the resulting theory to general relativity.

Colombeau's construction of generalized functions (in its special variant) is extended to a theory of generalized sections of vector bundles. As particular cases, generalized tensor analysis and exterior algebra are studied. A point value characterization for generalized functions on manifolds is derived, several algebraic characterizations of spaces of generalized sections are established and consistency properties with respect to linear distributional geometry are derived. An application to nonsmooth mechanics indicates the additional flexibility offered by this approach compared to the purely distributional picture.  相似文献

Introducing a vector potential, that is based on a pair of stream functions, and a velocity potential, antisymmetric equations for the stream functions are derived with the help of a variational principle. It is found that the equations are in a suitable form to investigate flows with helical symmetry, and, for example, to connect upstream axisymmetric flows with downstream helical flows. The special case of a transition from an upstream solid-body vortex to a downstream helical flow is investigated in detail. Furthermore, the stream-function equations are particularly useful to investigate general small-amplitude inertia waves on vortex flows. Time-dependent helical flows that are time-independent in a suitably rotating frame of reference can also be discussed with the proposed method.  相似文献

We study spherically symmetric solutions of the Vlasov-Poisson system in the context of algebras of generalized functions. This allows to model highly concentrated initial configurations and provides a consistent setting for studying singular limits of the system. The proof of unique solvability in our approach depends on new stability properties of the system with respect to perturbations.  相似文献

Results on singular products of the distributions x ± -p and x -p for natural p are derived, when the products are balanced so that their sum exists in the distribution space. These results follow the pattern of a known distributional product published by Jan Mikusiski in 1966. The results are obtained in the Colombeau algebra of generalized functions, which is the most relevant algebraic construction for tackling nonlinear problems of Schwartz distributions.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the sensitivity of multiple nonzero finite generalized singular values and the corresponding generalized singular matrix set of a real matrix pair analytically dependent on several parameters. We consider five different types of systems of generalized vector variational inequalities and derive relationships among them. We introduce the concept of pseudomonotonicity for a family of multivalued maps and prove the existence of weak solutions of these problems under these pseudomonotonicity assumptions in the setting of Hausdorff topological vector spaces as well as real Banach spaces. We also establish the existence of a strong solution of our problems under lower semicontinuity for a family of multivalued maps involved in the formulation of the problems. By using a nonlinear scalar function, we introduce gap functions for our problems by which we can solve systems of generalized vector variational inequalities using optimization techniques. This work is concerned with the extension of the Jacobi spectral Galerkin method to a class of nonlinear fractional pantograph differential equations. First, the fractional differential equation is converted to a nonlinear Volterra integral equation with weakly singular kernel. Second, we analyze the existence and uniqueness of solutions for the obtained integral equation. Then, the Galerkin method is used for solving the equivalent integral equation. The error estimates for the proposed method are also investigated. Finally, illustrative examples are presented to confirm our theoretical analysis.  相似文献

We consider a class of fragmentation equations in which the distribution of daughter particles formed when a parent particle fragments is governed by a homogeneous function. A systematic procedure is presented for constructing a space of distributions in which initial‐value problems involving singular initial conditions can be analysed. This procedure makes use of results on sun dual semigroups and equicontinuous semigroups on locally convex spaces. Explicit solutions are obtained for the case when the fragmentation processes are governed by power‐law kernels and have monodisperse initial conditions modelled by Dirac delta distributions. In this note we introduce the concept of vector network equilibrium flows when the ordering cone is the union of finitely many closed and convex cones. We show that the set of vector network equilibrium flows is equal to the intersection of finitely many sets, where each set is a collection of vector equilibrium flows with respect to a closed and convex cone. Sufficient and necessary conditions for a vector equilibrium flow are presented in terms of scalar equilibrium flows.  相似文献

In this article, gap functions for a generalized vector equilibrium problem (GVEP) with explicit constraints are investigated. Under a concept of supremum/infimum of a set, defined in terms of a closure of the set, three kinds of conjugate dual problems are investigated by considering the different perturbations to GVEP. Then, gap functions for GVEP are established by using the weak and strong duality results. As application, the proposed approach is applied to construct gap functions for a vector optimization problem and a generalized vector variational inequality problem.  相似文献
