A detailed study of associated Standard Model Higgs production (WH and ) at the LHC (or a possible upgraded Tevatron collider), where the Higgs boson decays to pairs, is reported for 80m H <120 gev.=" even=" for=">b-tagging performances of the detector, the signal cannot be cleanly extracted from the background. For an integrated luminosity of 104 pb –1 andm H =100 GeV, one can expect at best 110 reconstructed decays fromWH production, above a resonant background of 150WZ events and a non-resonant background of 4800 events, and 100 reconstructed pairs (of which 50 from decay) from production, above a background of 4000 events. The main difficulty in extracting these two channels is in the expected low signal rate after reconstruction, the need for accurate control of all the background sources and for extremely goodb-tagging performance. Nevertheless, for a few years of running at a luminosity of 1033 cm–2s–1, channel may be the best way to probe the region 80m H <100>  相似文献

The relation between the P\ensuremath{\mathcal{P}} T\ensuremath{\mathcal{T}} symmetry and Hermiticity is discussed. In the finite-dimensional linear space, any Hermitian matrix is a special case of P\ensuremath{\mathcal{P}} T\ensuremath{\mathcal{T}}-symmetric matrices. Explicit results in 2×2 are shown. The early belief that the P\ensuremath{\mathcal{P}} T\ensuremath{\mathcal{T}}-symmetric quantum mechanics is a generalization of the conventional Hermitian quantum mechanics is confirmed.  相似文献

We calculate the amplitude of $gg\to b\bar{b}$ production for the colour singlet, J z =0, di-gluon state at $\mathcal{O}(\alpha_{\mathrm{S}}^{2})$ order. We consider the cancellation and a realistic cut-off, of the infrared divergent terms. We show that the one-loop radiative QCD contributions effectively reduce the Born level result for the central exclusive $b\bar{b}$ cross section at the LHC. This process is essentially the only irreducible QCD background to the exclusive $H\to b\bar{b}$ signal.  相似文献

We develop a new formalism for the quantum master equation \(\Delta e^{S/\hbar } = 0\) and the category of \(\mathrm{IBL}_\infty \)-algebras and simplify some homotopical algebra arising in the context of oriented surfaces with boundary. We introduce and study a category of MV-algebras, which, on the one hand, contains such important categories as those of \(\mathrm{IBL}_\infty \)-algebras and \(\mathtt{L}_\infty \)-algebras and, on the other hand, is homotopically trivial, in particular allowing for a simple solution of the quantum master equation. AMADEUS is an experiment planned to be performed at the DAΦNE e+e? collider of the Frascati National Laboratories (Italy) of INFN, to investigate the antikaon-nuclei interaction at low energies. AMADEUS will perform, for the first time, full-acceptance studies of antikaon interaction in light nuclei, including a complete experimental program for the case of the kaonic nuclear clusters. The study of the absorption of antikaon by the nucleus will provide information concerning the $\bar{K}N$ interaction and the modification of the kaon mass in the nuclear medium. The experiment is being preceded by the study of the hadronic interactions of K? in the 4He of the drift chamber from the KLOE experiment data.  相似文献

We prove an Amitsur–Levitzki type theorem for the Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{o}\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{p}\left( {1,2n} \right)$ ) inspired by Kostant's cohomological interpretation of the classical theorem. We show that the Lie superalgebras $\mathfrak{g}\mathfrak{l}\left( {p,q} \right)$ cannot satisfy an Amitsur–Levitzki type super identity if pq≠0 and conjecture that neither can any other classical simple Lie superalgebra with the exception of $\mathfrak{o}\mathfrak{s}\mathfrak{p}\left( {1,2n} \right)$ .  相似文献

The main observation in this work is a decrease in the modulation frequency of the primary electron spin-echo decay (ESEEM) of the \({\text{P}}_{ 7 0 0}^{ + }\) cofactor in the reaction center of Photosystem I (PS I) from cyanobacteria Synechocystis sp. PCC 6803 embedded in dry trehalose matrix as the temperature rises from 150 K to room temperature. From the previous studies of the EPR spectrum shape of this system, it is known that, in dry trehalose matrix at room temperature, the distance between \({\text{P}}_{ 7 0 0}^{ + }\) and \({\text{A}}_{ 1}^{ - }\) spins does not increase compared to the distance measured in glycerol–water solution at cryogenic temperature. From the present ESEEM study, we conclude that the decrease of modulation frequency with rising temperature in trehalose matrix can be fully attributed to the influence of accelerated spin–lattice relaxation of \({\text{A}}_{ 1}^{ - }\). Our calculations show that this requires a decrease in the spin–lattice relaxation time from 3 to 1 μs. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first time that a shift in the ESEEM frequency due to the dipole–dipole interaction between the spins is observed that is caused by spin–lattice relaxation. Based on the above-mentioned results, we formulate a model of the protective effect of trehalose matrix on the electron transfer in the reaction center of PS I that is based on different hydrogen-bond networks between trehalose, local water, and protein.  相似文献

We investigate the possibility of explaining the enhancement in semileptonic decays of \({\bar{B}} \rightarrow D^{(*)} \tau {\bar{\nu }}\), the anomalies induced by \(b\rightarrow s\mu ^+\mu ^-\) in \({\bar{B}}\rightarrow (K, K^*, \phi )\mu ^+\mu ^-\) and violation of lepton universality in \(R_K = \mathrm{Br}({\bar{B}}\rightarrow K \mu ^+\mu ^-)/\mathrm{Br}({\bar{B}}\rightarrow K e^+e^-)\) within the framework of R-parity violating MSSM. The exchange of down type right-handed squark coupled to quarks and leptons yields interactions which are similar to leptoquark induced interactions that have been proposed to explain the \({\bar{B}} \rightarrow D^{(*)} \tau {\bar{\nu }}\) by tree level interactions and \(b\rightarrow s \mu ^+\mu ^-\) anomalies by loop induced interactions, simultaneously. However, the Yukawa couplings in such theories have severe constraints from other rare processes in B and D decays. Although this interaction can provide a viable solution to the \(R(D^{(*)})\) anomaly, we show that with the severe constraint from \({\bar{B}} \rightarrow K \nu {\bar{\nu }}\), it is impossible to solve the anomalies in the \(b\rightarrow s \mu ^+\mu ^-\) process simultaneously.  相似文献

Many different models have been proposed as possible explanations for this anomaly. Solid electrolytes are mostly used in solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC). In the present study, gallium-substituted compounds ( $ {\text{B}}{{\text{i}}_4}{{\text{V}}_{2 - {\text{x}}}}{\text{M}}{{\text{e}}_{\text{x}}}{{\text{O}}_{11 - \delta }} $ ; Me?=?Ga3+; 0≤x≤0.4) were prepared by solid-state reaction technique for its use as an electrolyte in SOFC. Structural and conductivity behavior was studied as a function of the Ga3+ substitution on vanadium site. The compounds remain in the orthorhombic α-phase for x?=?0 and 0.1 whereas higher concentration of dopant leads to β-phase stabilization. The highest and lowest ionic conductivity were observed in x?=?0.2 and x?=?0.4 samples, respectively. The prepared samples were studied by using alternating current conductivity, differential thermal analysis and X-ray diffraction techniques. The results are discussed on the basis of formation of oxygen vacancy and its ordering.  相似文献

By using predictions from the Pythia 8 Monte Carlo event generator, we determine the energy-dependent turn-over values (\(p_{\text {T0}}\)) of the partonic cross section for the simulation of multiparton interactions. Since the observed energy dependence of the \(p_{\text {T0}}\) values is not well described by a power-law function, we introduce an additional energy-dependent term, to better describe the experimental observations in the energy range \(\sqrt{s} = 0.3-13 \, \hbox {TeV}\). We obtain a similar level of agreement for predictions using various parton densities.  相似文献

Scaling symmetry of -type Drinfel’d–Sokolov hierarchy is investigated. Applying similarity reduction to the hierarchy, one can obtain the Schlesinger equation with (n + 1) regular singularities. Especially in the case of n = 3, the hierarchy contains the three-wave resonant system and the similarity reduction gives the generic case of the Painlevé VI equation. This paper carries out exact solutions of the perturbed nonlinear Schödinger’s equation withy Kerr law nonlinearity by using the improved tan\(\left( {\frac{\phi \left( \xi \right)}{2}} \right)\)-expansion method. The exact solutions contain four types: hyperbolic function solution, trigonometric function solution, exponential solution, and rational solution. The method appears to be easier and faster by means of symbolic computational system and can be applied to the other nonlinear evolution equations in mathematical physics.  相似文献
