We consider a delayed predator-prey system. We first consider the existence of local Hopf bifurcations, and then derive explicit formulas which enable us to determine the stability and the direction of periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations, using the normal form theory and center manifold argument. Special attention is paid to the global existence of periodic solutions bifurcating from Hopf bifurcations. By using a global Hopf bifurcation result due to Wu [Trans. Amer. Math. Soc. 350 (1998) 4799], we show that the local Hopf bifurcation implies the global Hopf bifurcation after the second critical value of delay. Finally, several numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are also given.  相似文献

A reaction-diffusion system known as the Sel'kov model subject to the homogeneous Neumann boundary condition is investigated, where detailed Hopf bifurcation analysis is performed. We not only show the existence of the spatially homogeneous/non-homogeneous periodic solutions of the system, but also derive conditions for determining the bifurcation direction and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solution.  相似文献

In this paper, we analyze the stability and Hopf bifurcation of the biological economic system based on the new normal form and the Hopf bifurcation theorem. The basic model we consider is owed to a ratio-dependent predator-prey system with harvesting, compared with other researches on dynamics of predator-prey population, this system is described by differential-algebraic equations due to economic factor. Here μ as bifurcation parameter, it is found that periodic solutions arise from stable stationary states when the parameter μ increases close to a certain limit. Finally, numerical simulations illustrate the effectiveness of our results.  相似文献

In this paper, Hopf bifurcation for two-species Lotka–Volterra competition systems with delay dependence is investigated. By choosing the delay as a bifurcation parameter, we prove that the system is stable over a range of the delay and beyond that it is unstable in the limit cycle form, i.e., there are periodic solutions bifurcating out from the positive equilibrium. Our results show that a stable competition system can be destabilized by the introduction of a maturation delay parameter. Further, an explicit algorithm for determining the direction of the Hopf bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcating periodic solutions is derived by using the theory of normal forms and center manifolds, and numerical simulations supporting the theoretical analysis are also given.  相似文献

In this paper a system of three delay differential equations representing a Hopfield type general model for three neurons with two-way (bidirectional) time delayed connections between the neurons and time delayed self-connection from each neuron to itself is studied. Delay independent and delay dependent sufficient conditions for linear stability, instability and the occurrence of a Hopf bifurcation about the trivial equilibrium are addressed. The partition of the resulting parametric space into regions of stability, instability, and Hopf bifurcation in the absence of self-connection is realized. To extend the local Hopf branches for large delay values a particular bidirectional delayed tri-neuron model without self-connection is investigated. Sufficient conditions for global existence of multiple non-constant periodic solutions are obtained for such a model using the global Hopf-bifurcation theorem for functional differential equations due to J. Wu and the Bendixson criterion for higher dimensional ordinary differential equations due to Li and Muldowney, and following the approach developed by Wei and Li.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the Hopf bifurcation phenomenon of a one-dimensional Schnakenberg reaction-diffusion model subject to the Neumann boundary condition. Our results reveal that both spatially homogeneous periodic solutions and spatially heterogeneous periodic solution exist. Moreover, we conclude that the spatially homogeneous periodic solutions are locally asymptotically stable and the spatially heterogeneous periodic solutions are unstable. In addition, we give specific examples to illustrate the phenomenon that coincides with our theoretical results.  相似文献

On the basis of Zhang’s model (see [P. Fergola, J. Zhang, M. Cerasuolo, Z.E. Ma, On the influence of quorum sensing in the competition between bacteria and immune system of invertebrates, in: Collective Dynamic: Topics on Competition and Cooperation in the Biosciences: A Selection of Papers in the Proceedings of the BIOCOMP2007 International Conference, AIP Conference Proceedings, vol. 1028, 2008, pp. 215-232] for more details), we formulate a bacteria-immunity model to describe the competition between bacteria and immune cells with bacterial quorum sensing mechanism. A time delay is introduced to characterize the time in which bacteria receive signal molecules and then combat with immune cells. Subsequently, the length of delay which preserves the stability of the positive equilibrium is estimated and Hopf bifurcation occurs when time delay crosses through a critical value are researched. Further, by using the normal form theory and center manifold theory, the explicit formulaes are calculated which determine the stability, the direction and the period of bifurcating periodical solutions. Finally, numerical simulations are employed to verify the mathematical conclusions.  相似文献

A generalized model of the two-neuron network with mixed delays is studied. The main purpose of this paper is to explore the linear stability of the trivial solution and Hopf bifurcation of a two-neuron network with continuous and discrete delays. The general formula of the direction, the estimation formula of period and stability of bifurcated periodic solutions are also studied. In this paper, an age‐structured population model with the form of neutral functional differential equation is studied. We discuss the stability of the positive equilibrium by analyzing the characteristic equation. Local Hopf bifurcation results are also obtained by choosing the mature delay as bifurcation parameter. On the center manifold, the normal form of the Hopf bifurcation is derived, and explicit formulae for determining the criticality of bifurcation are theoretically given. Moreover, the global continuation of Hopf bifurcating periodic solutions is investigated by using the global Hopf bifurcation theory of neutral equations. In this paper, we consider the stability of equilibria, Hopf and double Hopf bifurcation in Liu system with delay feedback. Firstly, we identify the critical values for stability switches and Hopf bifurcationusing the method of bifurcation analysis. When we choose appropriate feedback strength and delay, two symmetrical nontrivial equilibria of Liusystem can be controlled to be stable at the same time, and the stable bifurcating periodic solutions occur in the neighborhood of the two equilibria at the same time. Secondly, by applying the normal form method and center manifold theory,the normal form near the double Hopf bifurcation, as well as classifications of local dynamics are analyzed. Furthermore, we give the bifurcation diagram to illustrate numerically that a family of stable periodic solutions bifurcated from Hopf bifurcation occur in a large region of delay and the Liu system with delay can appear the phenomenon of ``chaos switchover''.  相似文献

This paper deals with a mathematical model that describe a genetic regulatory system. The model has a delay which affects the dynamics of the system. We investigate the stability switches when the delay varies, and show that Hopf bifurcations may occur within certain range of the model parameters. By combining the normal form method with the center manifold theorem, we are able to determine the direction of the bifurcation and the stability of the bifurcated periodic solutions. Finally, some numerical simulations are carried out to support the analytic results.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigated the Hopf bifurcation of the eXplicit Control Protocol (XCP) for the Internet congestion control system. These bifurcation behaviors may cause heavy oscillation of average queue length and induce network instability. A time-delayed feedback control method was proposed for controlling Hopf bifurcation in the XCP system. Numerical simulation results are presented to show that the time-delayed feedback controller is efficient in controlling Hopf bifurcation.  相似文献

In this paper, we investigated Hopf bifurcation by analyzing the distributed ranges of eigenvalues of characteristic linearized equation. Using communication delay as the bifurcation parameter, linear stability criteria dependent on communication delay have also been derived, and, furthermore, the direction of Hopf bifurcation as well as stability of periodic solution for the exponential RED algorithm with communication delay is studied. We find that the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the communication delay passes a sequence of critical values. The stability and direction of the Hopf bifurcation are determined by applying the normal form theory and the center manifold theorem. Finally, a numerical simulation is presented to verify the theoretical results.  相似文献

On the basis of the newly developed pseudo-oscillator analysis, the local dynamics near a Hopf bifurcation of a nonlinear delayed system of machine tool vibration is investigated in this paper. Starting from a pseudo-oscillator that is slightly perturbed from an undamped oscillator, the pseudo-oscillator analysis shows that near the Hopf bifurcation, the local dynamics can be justified simply by the properties of the averaged pseudo-power function. Unlike the widely used approaches such as the center manifold reduction, the pseudo-oscillator analysis involves very easy computation and gives prediction of the local dynamics with high accuracy.  相似文献

We study a nonlinear PDE problem motivated by the peculiar patterns arising in myxobacteria, namely, counter‐migrating cell density waves. We rigorously prove the existence of Hopf bifurcations for some specific values of the parameters of the system. This shows the existence of periodic solutions for the systems under consideration. In this paper, we consider a delayed two-competitor/one-prey system in which both two competitors exhibit Holling II functional response. By choosing the time delay as a bifurcation parameter, it is found that the Hopf bifurcation occurs when the delay passes through a certain critical value. This paper deals with the existence of both Hopf bifurcation and topological horseshoe for a novel finance chaotic system. First, through rigorous mathematical analysis, we show that a Hopf bifurcation occurs at systems’ three equilibriums S0,1,2 and Hopf bifurcation at equilibrium S0 is non-degenerate and supercritical. Second, the computer-assisted verifications for horseshoe chaos in the system are given. Simulation results are presented to support the analysis.  相似文献

In this paper, we discuss the special diffusive hematopoiesis model
with Neumann boundary condition. Sufficient conditions are provided for the global attractivity and oscillation of the equilibrium for Eq. (*), by using a new theorem we stated and proved. When P(t, χ) does not depend on a spatial variable χ ∈ Ω, these results are also true and extend or complement existing results. Finally, existence and stability of the Hopf bifurcation for Eq.
