We report on the localized spatial soliton excitations in the multidimensional nonlinear Schrödinger equation with radially variable nonlinearity coefficient and an external potential. By using Hirota's binary differential operators, we determine a variety of external potentials and nonlinearity coefficients that can support nonlinear localized solutions of different but desired forms. For some specific external potentials and nonlinearity coefficients, we discuss features of the corresponding (2+1)-dimensional multisolitonic solutions, including ring solitons, lump solitons, and soliton clusters.  相似文献

In the past few decades, the (1+1)-dimensional nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation had been derived for envelope Rossby solitary waves in a line by employing the perturbation expansion method. But, with the development of theory, we note that the (1+1)-dimensional model cannot reflect the evolution of envelope Rossby solitary waves in a plane. In this paper, by constructing a new (2+1)-dimensional multiscale transform, we derive the (2+1)-dimensional dissipation nonlinear Schrödinger equation (DNLS) to describe envelope Rossby solitary waves under the influence of dissipation which propagate in a plane. Especially, the previous researches about envelope Rossby solitary waves were established in the zonal area and could not be applied directly to the spherical earth, while we adopt the plane polar coordinate and overcome the problem. By theoretical analyses, the conservation laws of (2+1)-dimensional envelope Rossby solitary waves as well as their variation under the influence of dissipation are studied. Finally, the one-soliton and two-soliton solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional NLS equation are obtained with the Hirota method. Based on these solutions, by virtue of the chirp concept from fiber soliton communication, the chirp effect of envelope Rossby solitary waves is discussed, and the related impact factors of the chirp effect are given.  相似文献

We study an approach to constructing multiple soliton solutions of the (3 1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation. We take the (3 1)-dimensional potential- YTSF equation as an example. Using the extended homogeneous balance method, one can find a Backlund transformation to decompose the (3 1)-dimensional potential-YTSF equation into a set of partial differential equations. Starting from these partial differential equations, some multiple soliton solutions for the (3 1)-dimensional potential-YTSF equation are obtained by introducing a class of formal solutions.  相似文献

We study an approach to constructing multiple soliton solutions of the (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation. We take the (3+1)-dimensional Jimbo-Miwa (JM) equation as an example. Using the extended homogeneous balance method, one can find a B?cklund transformation to decompose the (3+1)-dimensional JM equation into a linear partial differential equation and two bilinear partial differential equations. Starting from these linear and bilinear partial differential equations, some multiple soliton solutions for the (3+1)-dimensional JM equation are obtained by introducing a class of formal solutions.  相似文献

We develop an approach to construct multiple soliton solutions of the (3+1)-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation. We take the (3+1)-dimensional Nizhnik-Novikov-Veselov (NNV) equation as an example. Using the extended homogeneous balance method, one can find a Backlünd transformation to decompose the (3+1)-dimensional NNV into a set of partial differential equations. Starting from these partial differential equations, some multiple soliton solutions for the (3+1)-dimensional NNV equation are obtained by introducing a class of formal solutions.  相似文献

Abstract

The Lie point symmetries associated with a number of (2 + 1)-dimensional generalizations of soliton equations are investigated. These include the Niznik – Novikov – Veselov equation and the breaking soliton equation, which are symmetric and asymmetric generalizations respectively of the KDV equation, the (2+1)-dimensional generalization of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation by Fokas as well as the (2+1)-dimensional generalized sine-Gordon equation of Konopelchenko and Rogers. We show that in all these cases the Lie symmetry algebra is infinite-dimensional; however, in the case of the breaking soliton equation they do not possess a centerless Virasorotype subalgebra as in the case of other typical integrable (2+1)-dimensional evolution equations. We work out the similarity variables and special similarity reductions and investigate them.  相似文献

A (3+1)-dimensional Gross-Pitaevskii (GP) equation with time variable coefficients is considered, and is transformed into a standard nonlinear Schrödinger (NLS) equation. Exact solutions of the (3+1)D GP equation are constructed via those of the NLS equation. By applying specific time-modulated nonlinearities, dispersions, and potentials, the dynamics of the solutions can be controlled. Solitary and periodic wave solutions with snaking and breathing behavior are reported.  相似文献

We discuss the motions of curves by introducing an extra spatial variable or equivalently, moving surfaces in arffine geometries. It is shown that the 2 +1-dimensional breaking soliton equation and a 2 + 1-dimensional nonlinear evolution equation regarded as a generalization to the 1 + 1-dimensional KdV equation arise from such motions.  相似文献

The D’Alembert solution is an important basic formula in linear partial differential theory due to that it can be considered as a general solution of the wave motion equation. However, the study of the D’Alembert wave is few works in nonlinear partial differential systems. In this paper, one construct the D’Alembert solution of a (2+1)-dimensional generalized breaking soliton equation which possesses the nonlinear terms. This D’Alembert wave has one arbitrary function in the traveling wave variable. We investigate the dynamics of the three soliton molecule, the soliton molecule by bound as an asymmetry soliton and one-soliton, the interaction between the half periodic wave and two-kink, and the interaction among the half periodic wave, one-kink and a kink soliton molecule of the (2+1)-dimensional generalized breaking soliton equation by selecting the appropriate parameters.  相似文献

We study the propagation of (1+1)-dimensional spatial soliton in a nonlocal Kerr-type medium with weak nonlocality. First, we show that an equation for describing the soliton propagation in weak nonlocality is a nonlinear Schr?dinger equation with perturbation terms. Then, an approximate analytical solution of the equation is found by the perturbation method. We also find some interesting properties of the intensity profiles of the soliton.  相似文献

An exact (2 + 1)-dimensional spatial optical soliton of the nonlinear Schrödinger equation with a spatially modulated nonlinearity and a special external potential is discovered in an inhomogeneous nonlinear medium, by utilizing the similarity transformation. Exact analytical solutions are constructed by the products of Whittaker functions and the bright and dark soliton solutions of the standard stationary nonlinear Schrödinger equation. Some examples of such composed solutions are given, in which these spatial solitons display different localized structures. Numerical calculation shows that the soliton is stable in propagating over long distances, thus also confirming the validity of the exact solution.  相似文献

In this paper, by means of double elliptic equation expansion approach, the novel double nonlinear wave solutions of the (2+1)-dimensional break soliton equation are obtained. These double nonlinear wave solutions contain the double Jacobi elliptic function-like solutions, the double solitary wave-like solutions, and so on. The method is also powerful to some other nonlinear wave equations in (2+1) dimensions.  相似文献

In the present letter, we get the appropriate bilinear forms of(2+1)-dimensional KdV equation, extended (2+1)-dimensional shallow water wave equation and (2+1)-dimensional Sawada-Kotera equation in a quick and natural manner, namely by appling the binary Bell polynomials. Then the Hirota direct method and Riemann theta function are combined to construct the periodic wave solutions of the three types nonlinear evolution equations. And the corresponding figures of the periodic wave solutions are given. Furthermore, the asymptotic properties of the periodic wave solutions indicate that the soliton solutions can be derived from the periodic wave solutions.  相似文献

We mainly investigate the variable-coefficient 3-coupled nonlinear Schr?dinger(NLS) system, which describes soliton dynamics in the three-spine α-helical protein with inhomogeneous effect. The variable-coefficient NLS equation is transformed into the constant coefficient NLS equation by similarity transformation firstly. The Hirota method is used to solve the constant coefficient NLS equation, and then we get the one-and two-breather solutions of the variable-coefficient NLS equation. The results show that, in the background of plane waves and periodic waves, the breather can be transformed into some forms of combined soliton solutions. The influence of different parameters on the soliton solution and the collision between two solitons are discussed by some graphs in detail. Our results are helpful to study the soliton dynamics inα-helical protein.  相似文献

The consistent tanh expansion (CTE) method is applied to the (2+1)-dimensional Boussinesq equation which describes the propagation of ultrashort pulse in quadratic nonlinear medium. The interaction solutions are explicitly given, such as the bright soliton-periodic wave interaction solution, variational amplitude periodic wave solution, and kink-periodic wave interaction solution. We also obtain the bright soliton solution, kind bright soliton solution, double well dark soliton solution and kink-bright soliton interaction solution by using Painlevé truncated expansion method. And we investigate interactive properties of solitons and periodic waves.  相似文献
