Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chamber (MRPC) is a new generation of gas detector with good tim-ing and spacial resolution, whose technique is widely applied in some recent high energy (nuclear) physics experiments. In this letter, we report a long-strip two-end readout MRPC and its test beam performance. The measurements show that the long-strip performs a transmission line characteristic and the impedance is independent of the length of strip. The MRPC module we developed is presented to gain a timing resolution of~80 ps and a spacial resolution of ~6.4 mm. The possible application of the MRPC is also discussed.  相似文献

基于多气隙电阻板室(MRPC)技术的飞行时间谱仪广泛应用于现代物理实验,并在粒子鉴别中发挥了重要作用.随着加速器能量和实验亮度的提高,对飞行时间谱仪的粒子计数率和时间分辨要求越来越高.MRPC飞行时间谱仪按技术上可以分成三代.从第一代到第三代,计数率要求越来越高( 30 kHz/cm~2),时间精度也更加严格(20 ps),相应的探测器结构和读出电子学系统呈现出不同的特性.本文总结了三代飞行时间谱仪技术的主要技术特点及主要物理实验,介绍了已经取得的应用成果,提出了该技术的未来发展方向.同时也介绍了MRPC探测器在工业及医学方面的应用.  相似文献

研制的由28个多气隙电阻板室(MRPC)模块构成飞行时间探测系统, 从2003年以来在RHIC-STAR实验上成功运行并获得了大量的实验数据. 为了深入了解MRPC实际运行中的性能,采用质心能量200GeV的Au-Au对撞的实验数据, 对MRPC-TOF的刻度方法进行了深入研究, 主要包括: (1) 对现有的刻度方法做了进一步的改进; (2) 对粒子入射角度等因素进行了修正; (3) STAR径迹重建的位置分辨率对MRPC时间分辨率影响. 用改进后的刻度和修正方法, 计算得到MRPC的本征时间分辨率为大约60ps, 与束流实验结果相近.  相似文献

在高压缩重子物质(Compressed Baryonic Matter,CBM)实验中,多气隙电阻板室(Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chamber,MRPC)探测器被用于构建飞行时间(Time of Flight,TOF)谱仪。根据CBM实验需求,TOF谱仪被设计成由6种不同类型的超级模块构成的探测器墙。每个模块最多包含5块MRPC探测器,能提供320路电子学通道,单个模块的数据率高达6 Gbps。为了评估CBM-TOF超级模块的性能,本文提出了一种基于TCP/IP千兆以太网技术的数据读出方法。考虑到TCP/IP协议的复杂性,该方法利用AlteraSoC FPGA从前端电子学接受数字化的时间数据,并通过千兆以太网并行地发送数据到DAQ软件。实验室测试结果表明,单个读出扣板全链路读出速率达到550 Mbps,能够用于CBM-TOF MRPC探测器质量评估。  相似文献

A prototype multi-gap resistive plate chamber (MRPC) with a 2×6 gap structure is developed for the upgrading of the endcap time-of-flight (ETOF) detector in the Beijing Spectrometer (BESⅢ). The prototype MRPC is tested in the E3 beam line of the Beijing Electron Positron Collider (BEPC) with secondary charged particles (π and p, etc) of 600 MeV/c. The test results show that the time resolution of the MRPC can reach 50 ps and that the detection efficiency is greater than 98%.  相似文献

In this paper we try to use MRPC technology to detect γ rays and fast neutrons. Through detailed Monte Carlo simulation, we get the γ rays and fast neutrons sensitivity of MRPC. We also studied the method to improve the neutron sensitivity of MRPC. Thin polyethylene layer is placed on the surface of electrode glass, when neutron interact with polyethylene, proton is produced and it can ionize working gas. Electron and ions will produce avalanche by strong electric field and charges is induced on collect electrodes. This kind of detector has high neutron-gamma resolution capability.  相似文献

提出了一种基于聚焦线性阵列探测器的快速光声计算机断层成像技术(光声CT).在光声二维图像重建中,根据阵列探测器机械扫描和电子扫描相结合的组合扫描模式,提出了改进的有限场滤波反投影重建算法.一方面该算法适合多元探测器旋转扫描模式,另一方面探测器的指向性函数作为反投影的权重因子提高了系统的横向分辨率.同时,该成像系统还利用柱面声透镜实现Z轴方向上的聚焦扫描以实现三维层析成像.实验中,这套成像系统空间分辨率达到0.2mm,Z轴方向分辨率为1.5mm,扫描一幅二维图像仅需150s,得到 关键词: 光声CT 有限场滤波反投影算法 声透镜聚焦 乳腺肿瘤检测  相似文献

The Compact Muon Solenoid (CMS) at LHC intends to use a high rate trapezoid MRPC for the muon system upgrade, but the size of the MRPC is limited by the dimensions of low resistivity glass. We have designed a prototype of a large MRPC in which the electrodes are developed by gluing two pieces of glass plates. Simulation of the weighting field and cosmic ray test shows that the efficiency of the glued MRPC is higher than 96% and the time resolution is better than 71 ps.  相似文献

The traditional ultrafast electric vacuum devices are usually based on the mechanism of photoelectric conversion, and their performance is restricted by factors such as material response and space-charge effect. It is difficult for the devices like microchannel plate framing cameras, Dilation X-ray Imager (DIXI) , streak cameras to achieve high temporal resolution (100 fs similar to 1 ps) and spatial resolution (similar to mu m) two-dimensional imaging. Ultrafast imaging technology based on photorefractive effect is a new ultrafast diagnostic technology, which has the advantages of high spatiotemporal resolution, all-optical, all and anti radiation. The nonequilibrium carrier lifetime of low temperature grown AlGaAs (LT-AlGaAs) can reach ps-level. The Ultrafast Response Chip (URC) made of LT-AlGaAs has the characteristics of high temporal resolution, meanwhile, good spatial performance is the other key factor for its application. In this paper, the spatial performance of LT-AlGaAs URC is experimentally studied using X-ray, generated by high-energy nanosecond pulsed laser-produced plasma, as the signal. The results show that the URC has the ability of high spatial resolution and large-scale imaging in the X-ray energy dynamic range of 120: 1. The optimal spatial resolution is >= 35 1p/mm (R) MTF = 0.1, and the imaging frame can reach 6.7 mm x 6.7 mm. The results further verify the feasibility of ultrafast diagnostic technology based on photorefractive materials. In the future, LT-AIGaAs URC will be combined with ultrafast framing technologies such as dispersion framing and polarization chirp framing to realize multi-frames and high spatiotemporal resolution two-dimensional imaging.  相似文献

介绍了兰州重离子加速器冷却储存环(HIRFL-CSR)外靶实验中时间起点探测器(T0)的前端电子学原型模块的设计与测试。探索了基于过阈时间法和专用集成电路NINO芯片进行多气隙电阻板室探测器信号读出的模拟前端电路的设计技术,并实际完成了原型电子学模块的设计。此模块共集成6个测量通道,可以进行前沿甄别及电荷时间变换。目前已经在实验室条件下完成了各项电子学性能测试,包括不同甄别阈值下的时间精度测试以及不同输入信号幅度下的输出脉宽测试。测试结果表明,在100 fC至2 pC的动态范围内,此模块时间精度好于20 ps,满足应用需求,这也为进一步的电子学系统设计做好了准备。A prototype front end electronics (FEE) module is designed for the T0 detector in the External Experiment in CSR (Cooling Storage Ring) of HIRFL (Heavy Ion Research Facility in Lanzhou). Based on the Time-Over-Threshold method and NINO ASIC, a total of 6 channels are integrated in the module, and both high precision leading edge discrimination and Charge-to-Time Conversion can be achieved, which satisfies the readout requirement of MRPC (Multi-gap Resistive Plate Chamber). A series of tests were also conducted in the laboratory, including time precision tests with different thresholds and output pulse width tests with different input signal amplitudes. Test results indicate that this prototype module functions well, and the time precision is better than 20 ps in the dynamic range from 100 fC to 2 pC, which is beyond application requirement. Through this work, preparation is made for the future readout system design.  相似文献

The multigap resistive plate chambers (MRPCs) are gas ionization detectors with multiple gas sub-gaps made of resistive electrodes. The high voltage (HV) is applied on the outer surfaces of outermost resistive plates only, while the interior plates are left electrically floating. The presence of multiple narrow sub-gaps with high electric field results in faster signals on the outer electrodes, thus improving the detector’s time resolution. Due to their excellent performance and relatively low cost, the MRPC detector has found potential application in time-of-flight (TOF) systems. Here we present the design, fabrication, optimization of the operating parameters such as the HV, the gas mixture composition, and, performance of six-gap glass MRPC detectors of area 27 cm \(\times \) 27 cm, which are developed in order to find application as trigger detectors, in TOF measurement etc. The design has been optimized with unique spacers and blockers to ensure a proper gas flow through the narrow sub-gaps, which are 250 \(\upmu \)m wide. The gas mixture consisting of R134A, Isobutane and SF\(_{6}\), and the fraction of each constituting gases has been optimized after studying the MRPC performance for a set of different concentrations. The counting efficiency of the MRPC is about 95% at 17.9 kV. At the same operating voltage, the time resolution, after correcting for the walk effect, is found to be about 219 ps.  相似文献

静态干涉系统具有稳定性好、抗干扰能力强的优势,但其缺点是光谱分辨率低并且光谱测试范围不易调整。针对静态干涉型成像光谱系统光谱分辨率低且不可调等问题,设计了一种新型静态成像光谱系统。系统由光束整形模块、新型静态干涉调制模块以及成像模块构成。光束整形模块将入射光缩束并整形为平行光,进而保证入射干涉具后可以获得较好的干涉效果;新型静态干涉调制模块对入射光进行相干处理。在双折射干涉结构的基础上进行了改进,在不改变原有静态干涉具尺寸的基础上提高了系统的光谱分辨率,并实现了光谱分辨率的静态调制;成像模块完成对目标区域二维可见光图像的采集。系统核心部件由两组光轴相互正交的Wollaston棱镜作为分光器件,在两棱镜间放置电光调制模块,实现光程的静态扫描。分析了新型静态成像光谱系统的工作原理,给出了入射角、折射角等主要参数的函数表达式,并构建了系统的数据模型。通过绘制系统光线追迹图的方式,得到了该系统横向剪切量的函数方程,并对影响横向剪切量的各个参数进行了分析与讨论。通过仿真计算了改变结构角、晶体厚度以及调制度等参数对横向剪切量的影响程度,并定量计算了两个参数对系统光谱分辨率的影响程度。由仿真分析结果可知,增大结构角与加宽调制晶体厚度都可以为系统提供更大的光程差。故通过电光调制的方式实现横向剪切量的静态扫描是可行的,可以实现静态光谱图像的获取。在实验中对660 nm激光进行了测试。新型静态干涉模块采用孔径20 mm×20 mm,厚度10 mm的两块光轴相反的Wollaston棱镜与厚度10 mm的电光调制晶体构成。当调制度分别是0.000 2和0.000 6时,成像模块采集得到干涉条纹具有明显差异。当调制度增大时,其干涉条纹密度增大,说明采用越大的调制度,系统对应的光谱静态扫描能力越强,对光谱分辨率的控制越好。由此可见,本静态成像光谱系统在控制电光晶体调制度的条件下具有光谱分辨率可调的特性,验证了系统的可行性。  相似文献

为满足中国散裂中子源多功能反射谱仪中子探测器的基本物理要求:有效面积达到200 mm×200 mm、探测效率大于50%(2Å)、位置分辨好于2 mm等,中国科学院高能物理研究所研制了3He高气压二维多丝正比室位置灵敏中子探测器。该探测器采用二维多丝室结构,腔体内充3He/C3H8(6 atm/2.5 atm)的组合气体。本文首先利用Am/Be中子源完成对探测器全面积均匀性测试,均匀性指标达到了95.1%;探测器在中国散裂中子源的20号束流线站安装后,对其进行了在束测量,通过飞行时间选取波长2.8Å的慢中子,测量了探测器二维位置分辨和二维成像性能。在X方向(垂直于阳极丝的方向)的位置分辨为0.99 mm,Y方向(平行于阳极丝的方向)的位置分辨为1.36 mm,探测器具有很好的二维位置分辨和二维成像能力。测量结果表明探测器满足反射谱仪的研制要求。  相似文献

针对低强度射线成像,自主研制了一种像元为0.1 mm高探测效率的液闪阵列屏.为此,基于倾斜刀口边缘响应的测量原理,建立了理论模拟方法和实验研究方法,对该液闪阵列屏开展了空间分辨性能研究.通过理论模拟,给出了液闪阵列屏在14 MeV中子和1.25 MeV伽马射线激发下的调制传递函数,并与像元为0.1,0.3和0.5 mm的闪烁纤维阵列屏进行了理论对比.在60Co伽马射线源上,对液闪阵列屏和像元为0.3和0.5 mm的两种国产闪烁纤维阵列屏进行了调制传递函数实测研究.理论模拟和实验结果一致,均表明液闪阵列的空间特性优于闪烁纤维阵列屏,而且具有更好的均匀性,对1.25 MeV伽马,空间分辨接近0.9 lp/mm,而其他两种纤维阵列屏仅达到0.5 lp/mm,对于14 MeV中子,液闪阵列屏的空间分辨可达到1.8 lp/mm.  相似文献

High-resolution continuous-wave terahertz (CW THz) real-time imaging operating at 2.52 THz is demonstrated based on THz digital holographic technique. To eliminate the influence of zero-order diffraction while reducing the recording distance, effective zero-order diffraction suppression methods are studied and compared. The spatial resolution of the imaging system is tested by imaging a self-made Siemens star. When the recording distance is 2.1 cm, the measured resolution can reach 0.245 mm. The experimental results confirm the high imaging performance of the THz digital holography system.  相似文献

新型微结构气体探测器,如气体电子倍增器(gas electron multiplier,GEM)等,具有非常好的位置分辨率潜力(σ100μm),但是需要匹配大规模高密度的读出电子学,给探测器的建设、造价、功耗、空间利用等带来极大压力.阻性阳极读出方法可以在保持较高位置分辨率的前提下,大幅节省电子学.基于厚膜电阻工艺,一种新的阻性单元阵列结构被成功开发和应用于三级级联GEM探测器的读出阳极.该阻性阳极包括6×6个6 mm×6 mm的基本阻性单元,仅需匹配49路读出电子学.~(55)Fe放射源(5.9 keV)和X光机(8 keV)实验的结果显示探测器的位置分辨率(σ)可好于80μm,位置非线性好于1.5%.同时,探测器还获得了很好的实物成像效果.探测器的优良性能表明这种阻性阳极读出方法适用于大面积二维成像气体探测器的读出,并可用于其他探测器的读出.  相似文献

介绍了一种塑料非球面门镜的设计原理及方法。把门镜视为逆向伽俐略系统来确定外形尺寸参数 ;仔细选取系统的光阑位置 ,选取二次曲面的系数及二次曲面的位置 ,可以校正系统的参差及像散。设计的门镜比现有的多种专利门镜结构简单、成像清晰。其视场中心像质达到了人眼明视距离处的极限分辨率。  相似文献
