In this paper, we study the position value for games in which partial cooperation exist, that is based on a union stable coalition system. The concept of basis is introduced for these systems, allowing for a definition of the position value. Moreover, an axiomatic characterization of the position value is provided for a specific class of union stable systems. Conditions under which convexity is inherited from the underlying game to the conference game, and the position value is a core vector of the restricted game are provided.  相似文献

A game with precedence constraints is a TU game with restricted cooperation, where the set of feasible coalitions is a distributive lattice, hence generated by a partial order on the set of players. Its core may be unbounded, and the bounded core, which is the union of all bounded faces of the core, proves to be a useful solution concept in the framework of games with precedence constraints. Replacing the inequalities that define the core by equations for a collection of coalitions results in a face of the core. A collection of coalitions is called normal if its resulting face is bounded. The bounded core is the union of all faces corresponding to minimal normal collections. We show that two faces corresponding to distinct normal collections may be distinct. Moreover, we prove that for superadditive games and convex games only intersecting and nested minimal collection, respectively, are necessary. Finally, it is shown that the faces corresponding to pairwise distinct nested normal collections may be pairwise distinct, and we provide a means to generate all such collections.  相似文献

We study cooperation structures with the following property: given any two feasible coalitions with non-empty intersection, its union is a feasible coalition again. TU-games restricted by union stable systems generalize graph-restricted games and games with permission structures. A study about the differences between the position value in union stable systems and hypergraph communication situations is given. We investigate the stable sets of social conflict games by employing the framework of the (abstract) system by Greenberg (Theory of social situations: an alternative game theoretic approach. Cambridge University Press, Cambridge, 1990). The social conflict game is a class of strategic games that includes the prisoners’ dilemma and the chicken game. We first show that the stable set generally fails to exist in a system that is directly derived from the social conflict game. In this system, the stable set exists if and only if the strong equilibrium exists in the underlying game. If the stable set exists, it coincides with the set of the strong equilibria that is equivalent to the core for the system. Then, we turn to a modified system where the players are allowed to make commitments. In the system with commitments, the stable set always exists, and it consists of efficient outcomes with a certain property. We also discuss the relationship between the core and the stable set for the system with commitments.  相似文献

It is well-known that the prekernel on the class of TU games is uniquely determined by non-emptiness, Pareto efficiency (EFF), covariance under strategic equivalence (COV), the equal treatment property, the reduced game property (RGP), and its converse. We show that the prekernel on the class of TU games restricted to the connected coalitions with respect to communication structures may be axiomatized by suitably generalized axioms. Moreover, it is shown that the prenucleolus, the unique solution concept on the class of TU games that satisfies singlevaluedness, COV, anonymity, and RGP, may be characterized by suitably generalized versions of these axioms together with a property that is called “independence of irrelevant connections”. This property requires that any element of the solution to a game with communication structure is an element of the solution to the game that allows unrestricted cooperation in all connected components, provided that each newly connected coalition is sufficiently charged, i.e., receives a sufficiently small worth. Both characterization results may be extended to games with conference structures.  相似文献

A nontransferable utility (NTU) game assigns a set of feasible pay-off vectors to each coalition. In this article, we study NTU games in situations in which there are restrictions on coalition formation. These restrictions will be modelled through interior structures, which extend some of the structures considered in the literature on transferable utility games for modelling restricted cooperation, such as permission structures or antimatroids. The Harsanyi value for NTU games is extended to the set of NTU games with interior structure.  相似文献

This paper deals with cooperative games in which only certain coalitions are allowed to form. There have been previous models developed to confront the problem of unallowable coalitions. Games restricted by a communication graph were introduced by Myerson and Owen. In their model, the feasible coalitions are those that induce connected subgraphs. Another type of model is introduced in Gilles, Owen and van den Brink. In their model, the possibilities of coalition formation are determined by the positions of the players in a so-called permission structure. Faigle proposed a general model for cooperative games defined on lattice structures. In this paper, the restrictions to the cooperation are given by a combinatorial structure called augmenting system which generalizes antimatroid structure and the system of connected subgraphs of a graph. In this framework, the core and the Weber set of games on augmenting systems are introduced and it is proved that monotone convex games have a non-empty core. Moreover, we obtain a characterization of the convexity of these games in terms of the core of the game and the Weber set of the extended game.  相似文献

Concerning the solution theory for set games, the paper focuses on a family of values, each of which allocates to any player some type of marginalistic contribution with respect to any coalition containing the player. For any value of the relevant family, an axiomatization is given by means of three properties, namely one type of an efficiency property, the equal treatment property and one type of a monotonicity property. We present one proof technique which is based on the decomposition of any arbitrary set game into a union of simple set games, the value of which are much easier to determine. A simple set game is associated with an arbitrary, but fixed item of the universe.  相似文献

Pillage games (Jordan, 2006a) have two features that make them richer than cooperative games in either characteristic or partition function form: they allow power externalities between coalitions; they allow resources to contribute to coalitions’ power as well as to their utility. Extending von Neumann and Morgenstern’s analysis of three agent games in characteristic function form to anonymous pillage games, we characterise the core for any number of agents; for three agents, all anonymous pillage games with an empty core represent the same dominance relation. When a stable set exists, and the game also satisfies a continuity and a responsiveness axiom, it is unique and contains no more than 15 elements, a tight bound. By contrast, stable sets in three agent games in characteristic or partition function form may not be unique, and may contain continua. Finally, we provide an algorithm for computing the stable set, and can easily decide non-existence. Thus, in addition to offering attractive modelling possibilities, pillage games seem well behaved and analytically tractable, overcoming a difficulty that has long impeded use of cooperative game theory’s flexibility.  相似文献

This paper contributes to the theory of differential games. A game problem of bringing a conflict-controlled system to a compact target set is analyzed. Sets in the position space that terminate on the target set and are not stable bridges are considered. The notion of stability defect of these sets is examined. It is demonstrated how the notion of stability defect can be used to construct sets with relatively good geometry that are at the same time convenient for the first player to play the game successfully.  相似文献

We investigate farsighted stable sets in a class of strategic games with dominant punishment strategies. In this class of games, each player has a strategy that uniformly minimizes the other players’ payoffs for any given strategies chosen by these other players. We particularly investigate a special class of farsighted stable sets, each of which consists of strategy profiles yielding a single payoff vector. We call such a farsighted stable set as a single-payoff farsighted stable set. We propose a concept called an inclusive set that completely characterizes single-payoff farsighted stable sets in strategic games with dominant punishment strategies. We also show that the set of payoff vectors yielded by single-payoff farsighted stable sets is closely related to the strict \(\alpha \)-core in a strategic game. Furthermore, we apply the results to strategic games where each player has two strategies and strategic games associated with some market models.  相似文献

In a standard TU-game it is assumed that every subset of the player set N can form a coalition and earn its worth. One of the first models where restrictions in cooperation are considered is the one of games with coalition structure of Aumann and Drèze (1974). They assumed that the player set is partitioned into unions and that players can only cooperate within their own union. Owen (1977) introduced a value for games with coalition structure under the assumption that also the unions can cooperate among them. Winter (1989) extended this value to games with levels structure of cooperation, which consists of a game and a finite sequence of partitions defined on the player set, each of them being coarser than the previous one.  相似文献

A special class of normal form games is the subject of the paper. Typically, the player set of the games in this class consists of two parties and the games are aggregations of conflicts between two players, one in each party. Two 2-person normal form games, closely related to the original game, are introduced and relations between the sets of (perfect) equilibria of these games and the original game are derived. Using the fact that the structure of the set of (perfect) equilibria of bimatrix games is known, the structure of the set of (perfect) equilibria of the original games is revealed. The stability of Nash equilibria against the perturbation of the right-hand side functions of state equations for noncooperative differential games is investigated. By employing the set-valued analysis theory, we show that the differential games whose equilibria are all stable form a dense residual set, and every differential game can be approximated arbitrarily by a sequence of stable differential games, that is, in the sense of Baire’s category most of the differential games are stable.  相似文献
