We obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for local Lipschitz-like property and sufficient conditions for local metric regularity in Robinson’s sense of Karush–Kuhn–Tucker point set maps of trust-region subproblems in trust-region methods. The main tools being used in our investigation are dual criteria for fundamental properties of implicit multifunctions which are established on the basis of generalized differentiation of normal cone mappings.  相似文献

This paper concerns the study of Lipschitzian stability of fully parameterized generalized equations in which both single-valued and set-valued functions depend on parameters. Various relationships between the Lipschitz-like and metric regularity properties of the solution mapping, the base mapping, or field mapping in the fully perturbed generalized equations are established by using the Dontchev–Hager Fixed Point Theorem. The implicit mapping theorem for metric regularity is also extended to fully parameterized generalized equations.  相似文献

The aim of this work is twofold. First, we use the advanced tools of modern variational analysis and generalized differentiation to study the Lipschitz-like property of an implicit multifunction. More explicitly, new sufficient conditions in terms of the Fréchet coderivative and the normal/Mordukhovich coderivative of parametric multifunctions for this implicit multifunction to have the Lipschitz-like property at a given point are established. Then we derive sufficient conditions ensuring the Lipschitz-like property of an efficient solution map in parametric vector optimization problems by employing the above implicit multifunction results.  相似文献

Some metric and graphical regularity properties of generalized constraint systems are investigated. Then, these properties are applied in order to penalize (in the sense of Clarke) various scalar and vector optimization problems. This method allows us to present several necessary optimality conditions in solid constrained vector optimization.  相似文献

We extend Robinson’s and Ledyaev and Zhu’s implicit multifunction theorems using the language of generalized derivatives with positively homogeneous maps, allowing us to obtain results that more closely resemble the classical (single-valued) implicit function theorem. We highlight that using linear openness instead of metric regularity gives simpler proofs and stronger results. As part of our analysis, we study perturbations of generalized linear openness and metric regularity. Finally, we discuss how our methods may also be adapted to study generalized calmness.  相似文献

This paper focuses on the metric regularity of a positive order for generalized equations. More concretely, we establish verifiable sufficient conditions for a generalized equation to achieve the metric regularity of a positive order at its a given solution. The provided conditions are expressed in terms of the Fréchet coderivative/or the Mordukhovich coderivative/or the Clarke one of the corresponding multifunction formulated the generalized equation. In addition, we show that such sufficient conditions turn out to be also necessary for the metric regularity of a positive order of the generalized equation in the case where the multifunction established the generalized equation is closed and convex.  相似文献

In this paper, we establish some new characterizations of metric regularity of implicit multifunctions in complete metric spaces by using lower semicontinuous envelopes of the distance functions to set-valued mappings. Through these new characterizations it is possible to investigate implicit multifunction theorems based on coderivatives and on contingent derivatives as well as the perturbation stability of implicit multifunctions.  相似文献

We obtain some point-based sufficient conditions for the metric regularity in Robinson’s sense of implicit multifunctions in a finite-dimensional setting. The new implicit function theorem (which is very different from the preceding results of Ledyaev and Zhu [Yu.S. Ledyaev, Q.J. Zhu, Implicit multifunctions theorems, Set-Valued Anal. 7 (1999) 209–238], Ngai and Théra [H.V. Ngai, M. Théra, Error bounds and implicit multifunction theorem in smooth Banach spaces and applications to optimization, Set-Valued Anal. 12 (2004) 195–223], Lee, Tam and Yen [G.M. Lee, N.N. Tam, N.D. Yen, Normal coderivative for multifunctions and implicit function theorems, J. Math. Anal. Appl. 338 (2008) 11–22]) can be used for analyzing parametric constraint systems as well as parametric variational systems. Our main tools are the concept of normal coderivative due to Mordukhovich and the corresponding theory of generalized differentiation.  相似文献

We prove an equivariant implicit function theorem for variational problems that are invariant under a varying symmetry group (corresponding to a bundle of Lie groups). Motivated by applications to families of geometric variational problems lacking regularity, several non-smooth extensions of the result are discussed. Among such applications is the submanifold problem of deforming the ambient metric preserving a given variational property of a prescribed family of submanifolds, e.g., constant mean curvature, up to the action of the corresponding ambient isometry groups.  相似文献

This paper is focused on the problem of finding a singularity of the sum of two vector fields defined on a Hadamard manifold, or more precisely, the study of a generalized equation in a Riemannian setting. We extend the concept of metric regularity to the Riemannian setting and investigate its relationship with the generalized equation in this new context. In particular, a version of Graves’s theorem is presented and we also define some concepts related to metric regularity, including the Aubin property and the strong metric regularity of set-valued vector fields. A conceptual method for finding a singularity of the sum of two vector fields is also considered. This method has as particular instances: the proximal point method, Newton’s method, and Zincenko’s method on Hadamard manifolds. Under the assumption of metric regularity at the singularity, we establish that the methods are well defined in a suitable neighborhood of the singularity. Moreover, we also show that each sequence generated by these methods converges to this singularity at a superlinear rate.  相似文献

Although the property of strong metric subregularity of set-valued mappings has been present in the literature under various names and with various (equivalent) definitions for more than two decades, it has attracted much less attention than its older “siblings”, the metric regularity and the strong (metric) regularity. The purpose of this paper is to show that the strong metric subregularity shares the main features of these two most popular regularity properties and is not less instrumental in applications. We show that the strong metric subregularity of a mapping F acting between metric spaces is stable under perturbations of the form f+F, where f is a function with a small calmness constant. This result is parallel to the Lyusternik–Graves theorem for metric regularity and to the Robinson theorem for strong regularity, where the perturbations are represented by a function f with a small Lipschitz constant. Then we study perturbation stability of the same kind for mappings acting between Banach spaces, where f is not necessarily differentiable but admits a set-valued derivative-like approximation. Strong metric q-subregularity is also considered, where q is a positive real constant appearing as exponent in the definition. Rockafellar's criterion for strong metric subregularity involving injectivity of the graphical derivative is extended to mappings acting in infinite-dimensional spaces. A sufficient condition for strong metric subregularity is established in terms of surjectivity of the Fréchet coderivative, and it is shown by a counterexample that surjectivity of the limiting coderivative is not a sufficient condition for this property, in general. Then various versions of Newton's method for solving generalized equations are considered including inexact and semismooth methods, for which superlinear convergence is shown under strong metric subregularity. As applications to optimization, a characterization of the strong metric subregularity of the KKT mapping is obtained, as well as a radius theorem for the optimality mapping of a nonlinear programming problem. Finally, an error estimate is derived for a discrete approximation in optimal control under strong metric subregularity of the mapping involved in the Pontryagin principle.  相似文献

The aim of this paper is to obtain some openness results in terms of normal coderivative for parametric set-valued mappings acting between infinite dimensional spaces. Then, implicit multifunction results are obtained by simply specializing the openness results. Moreover, we study a kind of metric regularity of the implicit multifunction. The results of the paper generalize several recent results in literature.  相似文献

We consider singular foliations of codimension one on 3-manifolds, in the sense defined by André Haefliger as being ??1-structures. We prove that under the obvious linear embedding condition, they are ??1-homotopic to a regular foliation carried by an open book or a twisted open book. The latter concept is introduced for this aim. Our result holds true in every regularity C r , r ?? 1. In particular, in dimension 3, this gives a very simple proof of Thurston??s 1976 regularization theorem without using Mather??s homology equivalence.  相似文献

The metric regularity of multifunctions plays a crucial role in modern variational analysis and optimization. This property is a key to study the stability of solutions of generalized equations. Many practical problems lead to generalized equations associated to the sum of multifunctions. This paper is devoted to study the metric regularity of the sum of multifunctions. As the sum of closed multifunctions is not necessarily closed, almost all known results in the literature on the metric regularity for one multifunction (which is assumed usually to be closed) fail to imply regularity properties of the sum of multifunctions. To avoid this difficulty, we use an approach based on the metric regularity of so-called epigraphical multifunctions and the theory of error bounds to study the metric regularity of the sum of two multifunctions, as well as some related important properties of variational systems. Firstly, we establish the metric regularity of the sum of a regular multifunction and a pseudo-Lipschitz multifunction with a suitable Lipschitz modulus. These results subsume some recent results by Durea and Strugariu. Secondly, we derive coderivative characterizations of the metric regularity of epigraphical multifunctions associated with the sum of multifunctions. Applications to the study of the behavior of solutions of variational systems are reported.  相似文献

The paper is devoted to a revision of the metric regularity property for mappings between metric or Banach spaces. Some new concepts are introduced: uniform metric regularity and metric multi-regularity for mappings into product spaces, when each component is perturbed independently. Regularity criteria are established based on a nonlocal version of Lyusternik-Graves theorem due to Milyutin. The criteria are applied to systems of generalized equations producing some “error bound” type estimates.  相似文献

By Gromov??s compactness theorem for metric spaces, every uniformly compact sequence of metric spaces admits an isometric embedding into a common compact metric space in which a subsequence converges with respect to the Hausdorff distance. Working in the class of oriented k-dimensional Riemannian manifolds (with boundary) and, more generally, integral currents in metric spaces in the sense of Ambrosio?CKirchheim and replacing the Hausdorff distance with the filling volume or flat distance, we prove an analogous compactness theorem in which however we only assume uniform bounds on volume and diameter.  相似文献

This note presents an implicit function theorem for generalized equations, simultaneously generalizing Robinson’s implicit function theorem for strongly regular generalized equations and Clarke’s implicit function theorem for equations with Lipschitz-continuous mappings.  相似文献

In this paper we investigate the Lipschitz-like property of the solution mapping of parametric variational inequalities over perturbed polyhedral convex sets. By establishing some lower and upper estimates for the coderivatives of the solution mapping, among other things, we prove that the solution mapping could not be Lipschitz-like around points where the positive linear independence condition is invalid. Our analysis is based heavily on the Mordukhovich criterion (Mordukhovich in Variational Analysis and Generalized Differentiation. vol. I: Basic Theory, vol. II: Applications. Springer, Berlin, 2006) of the Lipschitz-like property for set-valued mappings between Banach spaces and recent advances in variational analysis. The obtained result complements the corresponding ones of Nam (Nonlinear Anal 73:2271–2282, 2010) and Qui (Nonlinear Anal 74:1674–1689, 2011).  相似文献
