In contrast to its subalgebra $A_n:=K\langle x_1, \ldots , x_n, \frac{\partial}{\partial x_1}, \ldots ,\frac{\partial}{\partial x_n}\rangle $ of polynomial differential operators (i.e. the n’th Weyl algebra), the algebra ${\mathbb{I}}_n:=K\langle x_1, \ldots ,$ $ x_n, \frac{\partial}{\partial x_1}, \ldots ,\frac{\partial}{\partial x_n}, \int_1, \ldots , \int_n\rangle $ of polynomial integro-differential operators is neither left nor right Noetherian algebra; moreover it contains infinite direct sums of nonzero left and right ideals. It is proved that ${\mathbb{I}}_n$ is a left (right) coherent algebra iff n?=?1; the algebra ${\mathbb{I}}_n$ is a holonomic A n -bimodule of length 3 n and has multiplicity 3 n with respect to the filtration of Bernstein, and all 3 n simple factors of ${\mathbb{I}}_n$ are pairwise non-isomorphic A n -bimodules. The socle length of the A n -bimodule ${\mathbb{I}}_n$ is n?+?1, the socle filtration is found, and the m’th term of the socle filtration has length ${n\choose m}2^{n-m}$ . This fact gives a new canonical form for each polynomial integro-differential operator. It is proved that the algebra ${\mathbb{I}}_n$ is the maximal left (resp. right) order in the largest left (resp. right) quotient ring of the algebra ${\mathbb{I}}_n$ .  相似文献

Let R be a prime ring with center Z(R). For a fixed positive integer n, a permuting n-additive map ${\Delta : R^n \to R}$ is known to be permuting n-derivation if ${\Delta(x_1, x_2, \ldots, x_i x'_{i},\ldots, x_n) = \Delta(x_1, x_2, \ldots, x_i, \ldots, x_n)x'_i + x_i \Delta(x_1, x_2, \ldots, x'_i, \ldots, x_n)}$ holds for all ${x_i, x'_i \in R}$ . A mapping ${\delta : R \to R}$ defined by δ(x) = Δ(x, x, . . . ,x) for all ${x \in R}$ is said to be the trace of Δ. In the present paper, we have proved that a ring R is commutative if there exists a permuting n-additive map ${\Delta : R^n \to R}$ such that ${xy + \delta(xy) = yx + \delta(yx), xy- \delta(xy) = yx - \delta(yx), xy - yx = \delta(x) \pm \delta(y)}$ and ${xy + yx = \delta(x) \pm \delta(y)}$ holds for all ${x, y \in R}$ . Further, we have proved that if R is a prime ring with suitable torsion restriction then R is commutative if there exist non-zero permuting n-derivations Δ1 and Δ2 from ${R^n \to R}$ such that Δ1(δ 2(x), x, . . . ,x) =  0 for all ${x \in R,}$ where δ 2 is the trace of Δ2. Finally, it is shown that in a prime ring R of suitable torsion restriction, if ${\Delta_1, \Delta_2 : R^n \longrightarrow R}$ are non-zero permuting n-derivations with traces δ 1, δ 2, respectively, and ${B : R^n \longrightarrow R}$ is a permuting n-additive map with trace f such that δ 1 δ 2(x) =  f(x) holds for all ${x \in R}$ , then R is commutative.  相似文献

Sufficient geometric conditions are given which determine when the Cauchy–Pexider functional equation f(x)g(y) = h(x + y) restricted to x, y lying on a hypersurface in ${\mathbb{R}^d}$ has only solutions which extend uniquely to exponential affine functions ${\mathbb{R}^d \to \mathbb{C}}$ (when f, g, h are assumed to be measurable and non-trivial). The Cauchy–Pexider-type functional equations ${\prod_{j=0}^df_j(x_j)=F(\sum_{j=0}^dx_j)}$ for ${x_0, \ldots,x_d}$ lying on a curve and ${f_1(x_1)f_2(x_2)f_3(x_3)=F(x_1+x_2+x_3)}$ for x 1, x 2, x 3 lying on a hypersurface are also considered.  相似文献

Let M?=?{ 1, 2, . . . ,?n?} and let ${\mathcal {V}=\{\,I \subseteq M: 1 \in I\,\}}$ , where n is an integer greater than 1. Denote ${M{\setminus}{I}}$ by I c for ${I \in \mathcal {V}.}$ We investigate the solution of the following generalized quartic functional equation $$\begin{array}{ll} \sum\limits_{I \in\mathcal {V}}f\, \left({\sum\limits_{i \in I}}a_ix_i-\sum\limits_{i \in I^c}a_ix_i\right) \, = \,2^{n-2} \sum\limits_{1\leq i < j \leq n}a^2_{i}a^2_{j} \left[f(x_{i}+x_{j})+f(x_{i}-x_{j})\right] \\ \qquad \qquad \qquad \quad\quad\quad \quad\quad\quad\quad +\,2^{n-1} \sum\limits^{n}_{i=1}a^2_{i} \left(a^2_{i}-\sum\limits^{n}_{\substack{{j=1}\\{j\neq i}}}a^2_{j}\right)f(x_{i}) \end{array}$$ in β-Banach modules on a Banach algebra, where ${a_{1},\ldots, a_{n}\in \mathbb{Z}{\setminus}\{0\}}$ with a ? ?≠ ±1 for all ${\ell \in \{1 , 2, \ldots ,\,n-1\}}$ and a n ?=?1. Moreover, using the fixed point method, we prove the generalized Hyers–Ulam stability of the above generalized quartic functional equation. Finally, we give an example that the generalized Hyers–Ulam stability does not work.  相似文献

Consider the functional equation ${\Im_1(f ) = \Im_2(f )\,\,(\Im)}$ in a certain general setting. A function g is an approximate solution of ${(\Im)}$ if ${\Im_1(g)}$ and ${\Im_2(g)}$ are close in some sense. The Ulam stability problem asks whether or not there is a true solution of ${(\Im)}$ near g. In this paper, we achieve the general solution and the stability of the following functional equation $$\begin{array}{ll}f\left(\sum\limits^{n}_{i=1}x_{i} \right)+f\left(\sum\limits^{n-1}_{i=1} x_{i}-x_{n} \right)\\\quad=2f\left(\sum\limits^{n-1}_{i=1}x_{i} \right)+\sum\limits^{n-1}_{i=1}(f(x_{i}+x_{n}) +f(x_{i}-x_{n})-2f(x_{i}))\end{array}$$ for all x i (i =? 1,2, . . . , n), in non-Archimedean spaces.  相似文献

Let ${\phi}$ be a rational function of degree at least two defined over a number field k. Let ${a \in \mathbb{P}^1(k)}$ and let K be a number field containing k. We study the cardinality of the set of rational iterated preimages Preim ${(\phi, a, K) = \{x_{0} \in \mathbb{P}^1(K) | \phi^{N} (x_0) = a {\rm for some} N \geq 1\}}$ . We prove two new results (Theorems 2 and 4) bounding ${|{\rm Preim}(\phi, a, K)|}$ as ${\phi}$ varies in certain families of rational functions. Our proofs are based on unit equations and a method of Runge for effectively determining integral points on certain affine curves. We also formulate and state a uniform boundedness conjecture for Preim ${(\phi, a, K)}$ and prove that a version of this conjecture is implied by other well-known conjectures in arithmetic dynamics.  相似文献

The volume of the unit ball in ${\mathbb{R}^{n}}$ is defined by $$\Omega_{n} = \frac{\pi^{n/2}}{\Gamma(n/2+1)},\qquad n = 1,2,3,\ldots,$$ where Γ denotes the classical gamma function of Euler. In several recently published papers numerous authors studied properties of Ω n . In particular, various inequalities involving Ω n are given in the literature. In this paper, we continue the work on this subject and offer new inequalities. More precisely, we offer sharp upper and lower bounds for $$\frac{\Omega_{n}^{2}}{\Omega_{n-1} \Omega_{n+1}},\quad\frac{\Omega_{n}}{\Omega_{n-1}+\Omega_{n+1}} \quad {\rm and} \quad\Omega_{n}.$$   相似文献

In this paper, we study noncommutative domains ${\mathbb{D}_f^\varphi(\mathcal{H}) \subset B(\mathcal{H})^n}$ generated by positive regular free holomorphic functions f and certain classes of n-tuples ${\varphi = (\varphi_1, \ldots, \varphi_n)}$ of formal power series in noncommutative indeterminates Z 1, . . . , Z n . Noncommutative Poisson transforms are employed to show that each abstract domain ${\mathbb{D}_f^\varphi}$ has a universal model consisting of multiplication operators (M Z1, . . . , M Z n ) acting on a Hilbert space of formal power series. We provide a Beurling type characterization of all joint invariant subspaces under M Z1, . . . , M Z n and show that all pure n-tuples of operators in ${\mathbb{D}_f^\varphi(\mathcal{H})}$ are compressions of ${M_{Z_1} \otimes I, \ldots, M_{Z_n} \otimes I}$ to their coinvariant subspaces. We show that the eigenvectors of ${M_{Z_1}^*, \ldots, M_{Z_n}^*}$ are precisely the noncommutative Poisson kernels ${\Gamma_\lambda}$ associated with the elements ${\lambda}$ of the scalar domain ${\mathbb{D}_{f,<}^\varphi(\mathbb{C}) \subset \mathbb{C}^n}$ . These are used to solve the Nevanlinna-Pick interpolation problem for the noncommutative Hardy algebra ${H^\infty(\mathbb{D}_f^\varphi)}$ . We introduce the characteristic function of an n-tuple ${T=(T_1, \ldots , T_n) \in \mathbb{D}_f^\varphi(\mathcal{H})}$ , present a model for pure n-tuples of operators in the noncommutative domain ${\mathbb{D}_f^\varphi(\mathcal{H})}$ in terms of characteristic functions, and show that the characteristic function is a complete unitary invariant for pure n-tuples of operators in ${\mathbb{D}_f^\varphi(\mathcal{H})}$ .  相似文献

We study the Weinstein equation $$\Delta u - \frac{k}{{x}_{2}} \frac{\partial}{\partial{x}_{2}} + \frac{l}{x^{2}_{2}}u = 0$$ , on the upper half space ${\mathbb{R}^3_{+} = \{ (x_{0}, x_{1}, x_{2}) \in \mathbb{R}^{3} | x_2 > 0\}}$ in case ${4l \leq (k + 1)^{2}}$ . If l =  0 then the operator ${x^{2k}_{2} (\Delta - \frac{k}{x_{2}} \frac{\partial}{\partial{x}_{2}})}$ is the Laplace- Beltrami operator of the Riemannian metric ${ds^2 = x^{-2k}_{2} (\sum^{2}_{i = 0} dx^{2}_{i})}$ . The general case ${\mathbb{R}^{n}_{+}}$ has been studied earlier by the authors, but the results are improved in case ${\mathbb{R}^3_{+}}$ . If k =  1 then the Riemannian metric is the hyperbolic distance of Poincaré upper half-space. The Weinstein equation is connected to the axially symmetric potentials. We compute solutions of the Weinstein equation depending only on the hyperbolic distance and x 2. The solutions of the Weinstein equation form a socalled Brelot harmonic space and therefore it is known that they satisfy the mean value properties with respect to the harmonic measure. However, without using the theory of Brelot harmonic spaces, we present the explicit mean value properties which give a formula for a harmonic measure evaluated in the center point of the hyperbolic ball. Earlier these results were proved only for k =  1 and l =  0 or k =  1 and l =  1. We also compute the fundamental solutions. The main tools are the hyperbolic metric and its invariance properties. In the consecutive papers, these results are applied to find explicit kernels for k-hypermonogenic functions that are higher dimensional generalizations of complex holomorphic functions.  相似文献

A problem of Carlitz and its generalizations   总被引:1,自引:0,他引:1
Let ${\mathbb{F}_q}$ be the finite field of characteristic p > 2 with q elements. Carlitz proposed the problem of finding an explicit formula for the number of solutions to the equation $$(x_1+ x_2+\cdots+x_n)^2=a\, x_1x_2\cdots x_n,$$ where ${a\in \mathbb{F}_q^*}$ and n ≥ 3. By using the augmented degree matrix and Gauss sums, we consider the generalizations of the above equation and partially solve Carlitz’s problem. Moreover, the technique developed in this paper may be applied to other equations of the form ${h_1^\lambda=h_2}$ with ${h_1, h_2 \in \mathbb{F}_q[x_1,\ldots,x_n]}$ and ${\lambda \in \mathbb{N}}$ .  相似文献

We consider integral functionals in which the density has growth p i with respect to ${\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_i}}$ , like in $$\int\limits_{\Omega}\left( \left| \frac{\partial u}{\partial x_1}(x) \right|^{p_1} + \left|\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_2}(x)\right|^{p_2} + \cdots + \left|\frac{\partial u}{\partial x_n}(x) \right|^{p_n} \right) dx.$$ We show that higher integrability of the boundary datum forces minimizer to be more integrable.  相似文献

We present various inequalities for the harmonic numbers defined by ${H_n=1+1/2 +\ldots +1/n\,(n\in{\bf N})}$ . One of our results states that we have for all integers n ???2: $$\alpha \, \frac{\log(\log{n}+\gamma)}{n^2} \leq H_n^{1/n} -H_{n+1}^{1/(n+1)} < \beta \, \frac{\log(\log{n}+\gamma)}{n^2}$$ with the best possible constant factors $$\alpha= \frac{6 \sqrt{6}-2 \sqrt[3]{396}}{3 \log(\log{2}+\gamma)}=0.0140\ldots \quad\mbox{and} \quad\beta=1.$$ Here, ?? denotes Euler??s constant.  相似文献

In this paper, we study the periodicity, the boundedness and the convergence of the following max-type difference equation $$x_n =\max\biggl\{\frac{ 1}{ x_{n-m}} , \frac{A_n }{x_{n-r} }\biggr \},\quad n =0, 1,2,\ldots,$$ where $\{A_{n}\}^{+\infty}_{n=0}$ is a periodic sequence with period k and A n ??(0,1) for every n??0, m??{1,2} and r??{2,3,??} with m<r, the initial values x ?r ,??,x ?1??(0,+??). The special case when $m = 1, r = 2, \{A_{n}\}^{+\infty}_{ n=0}$ is a periodic sequence with period k and A n ??(0,1) for every n??0 has been completely investigated by Y.?Chen. Here we extend his results to the general case.  相似文献

Let φ be a primitive Maass cusp form and t φ (n) be its nth Fourier coefficient at the cusp infinity. In this short note, we are interested in the estimation of the sums ${\sum_{n \leq x}t_{\varphi}(n)}$ and ${\sum_{n \leq x}t_{\varphi}(n^2)}$ . We are able to improve the previous results by showing that for any ${\varepsilon > 0}$ $$\sum_{n \leq x}t_{\varphi}(n) \ll\, _{\varphi, \varepsilon} x^{\frac{1027}{2827} + \varepsilon} \quad {and}\quad\sum_{n \leq x}t_{\varphi}(n^2) \ll\,_{\varphi, \varepsilon} x^{\frac{489}{861} + \varepsilon}.$$   相似文献

In this paper, we study the difference equation $$x_{n+1}=p+\frac{x_{n-1}}{x_n}, \quad n=0,1,\ldots, $$ where initial values x ?1,x 0∈(0,+∞) and 0<p<1, and obtain the set of all initial values (x ?1,x 0)∈(0,+∞)×(0,+∞) such that the positive solutions $\{x_{n}\}_{n=-1}^{\infty}$ are bounded. This answers the Open problem 4.8.11 proposed by Kulenovic and Ladas (Dynamics of Second Order Rational Difference Equations, with Open Problems and Conjectures, 2002).  相似文献

Then $$\left| {\sum {x_1 , \ldots ,} x_n \in k\chi (f(x_1 , \ldots ,x_n ))} \right| \leqslant Cq^{{n \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {n 2}} \right. \kern-\nulldelimiterspace} 2}} $$ where the constant C depends only on d and n.  相似文献

Let ${\left(\tau_j\right)_{j\in\mathbb{N}}}$ be a sequence of strictly positive real numbers, and let A be the generator of a bounded analytic semigroup in a Banach space X. Put ${A_n=\prod_{j=1}^n\left(I+\frac{1}{2}\tau_jA\right)\left(I-\frac{1}{2}\tau_jA\right)^{-1}}$ , and let ${x\in X}$ . Define the sequence ${\left(x_n\right)_{n\in\mathbb{N}}\subset X}$ by the Crank?CNicolson scheme: x n ?=?A n x. In this erratum, it is proved that the Crank?CNicolson scheme is stable in the sense that ${\sup_{n\in\mathbb{N}}\left\Vert A_nx\right\Vert < \infty}$ provided that inequality (0.9) below holds.  相似文献

Let $P_{n}^{ ( \alpha,\beta ) } ( x ) $ be the Jacobi polynomial of degree n with parameters α,β. The main result of the paper states the following: If b≠1,3 and c are non-zero relatively prime natural numbers then $P_{n}^{ ( k+ ( d-3 ) /2,k+ ( d-3 ) /2 ) } ( \sqrt{b/c} ) \neq0$ for all natural numbers d,n and $k\in\mathbb{N}_{0}$ . Moreover, under the above assumption, the polynomial $Q ( x ) = \frac{b}{c} ( x_{1}^{2}+\cdots+x_{d-1}^{2} ) + ( \frac{b}{c}-1 ) x_{d}^{2}$ is not a harmonic divisor, and the Dirichlet problem for the cone {Q(x)<0} has polynomial harmonic solutions for polynomial data functions.  相似文献

In the present study, we consider isometric immersions ${f : M \rightarrow \tilde{M}(c)}$ of (2n + 1)-dimensional invariant submanifold M 2n+1 of (2m + 1) dimensional Sasakian space form ${\tilde{M}^{2m+1}}$ of constant ${ \varphi}$ -sectional curvature c. We have shown that if f satisfies the curvature condition ${\overset{\_}{R}(X, Y) \cdot \sigma =Q(g, \sigma)}$ then either M 2n+1 is totally geodesic, or ${||\sigma||^{2}=\frac{1}{3}(2c+n(c+1)),}$ or ${||\sigma||^{2}(x) > \frac{1}{3}(2c+n(c+1)}$ at some point x of M 2n+1. We also prove that ${\overset{\_ }{R}(X, Y)\cdot \sigma = \frac{1}{2n}Q(S, \sigma)}$ then either M 2n+1 is totally geodesic, or ${||\sigma||^{2}=-\frac{2}{3}(\frac{1}{2n}\tau -\frac{1}{2}(n+2)(c+3)+3)}$ , or ${||\sigma||^{2}(x) > -\frac{2}{3}(\frac{1}{2n} \tau (x)-\frac{1}{2} (n+2)(c+3)+3)}$ at some point x of M 2n+1.  相似文献
