Let S be a subgroup of a group G. A set ${\Pi= \{H_1, \ldots , H_n\}}$ of subgroups ${H_i (i = 1, \ldots ,n)}$ with ${G=\cup_{H_i\in\Pi}H_i}$ is said to be an equal quasi-partition of G if ${H_i\cap H_j\cong S}$ and ${|H_i|=|H_j|}$ for all ${H_i, H_j\in\Pi}$ with ${i\ne j}$ . In this paper we investigate finite p-groups such that a subset of their maximal subgroups form an equal quasi-partition.  相似文献

Let X be a realcompact space and ${H:C(X)\rightarrow\mathbb{R}}$ be an identity and order preserving group homomorphism. It is shown that H is an evaluation at some point of X if and only if there is ${\varphi\in C(\mathbb{R})}$ with ${\varphi(r)>\varphi(0)}$ for all ${r\in\mathbb{R}-\{0\}}$ for which ${H\circ\varphi=\varphi\circ H}$ . Let ${X= \{X_t, t \ge 0\}}$ be a continuous time random walk in an environment of i.i.d. random conductances ${\{\mu_e \in [1,\infty), e \in E_d\}}$ , where E d is the set of nonoriented nearest neighbor bonds on the Euclidean lattice ${\mathbb{Z}^d}$ and d ≥ 3. Let ${{\rm R} = \{x \in \mathbb{Z}^d: X_t = x {\rm \,for\, some}\,t \ge 0\}}$ be the range of X. It is proved that, for almost every realization of the environment, dimH R = dimP R = 2 almost surely, where dimH and dimP denote, respectively, the discrete Hausdorff and packing dimension. Furthermore, given any set ${A \subseteq \mathbb{Z}^d}$ , a criterion for A to be hit by X t for arbitrarily large t > 0 is given in terms of dimH A. Similar results for Bouchoud’s trap model in ${\mathbb{Z}^d}$ (d ≥ 3) are also proven.  相似文献

A function ${u : X \to \mathbb{R}}$ defined on a partially ordered set is quasi-Leontief if, for all ${x \in X}$ , the upper level set ${\{x\prime \in X : u(x\prime) \geq u(x)\}}$ has a smallest element; such an element is an efficient point of u. An abstract game ${u_{i} : \prod^{n}_{j=1} X_j \to \mathbb{R}, i \in \{1, \ldots , n\}}$ , is a quasi-Leontief game if, for all i and all ${(x_{j})_{j \neq i} \in \prod_{j \neq i} X_{j}, u_{i}((x_{j})_{j \neq i};-) : X_{i} \to \mathbb{R}}$ is quasi-Leontief; a Nash equilibrium x* of an abstract game ${u_{i} :\prod^{n}_{j=1} X_{j} \to \mathbb{R}}$ is efficient if, for all ${i, x^{*}_{i}}$ is an efficient point of the partial function ${u_{i}((x^{*}_{j})_{j \neq i};-) : X_{i} \to \mathbb{R}}$ . We establish the existence of efficient Nash equilibria when the strategy spaces X i are topological semilattices which are Peano continua and Lawson semilattices.  相似文献

We provide a sufficient condition for the nontriviality of the Lipschitz homotopy group of the Heisenberg group, ${\pi_m^{\rm Lip}(\mathbb{H}_n)}$ , in terms of properties of the classical homotopy group of the sphere, ${\pi_m(\mathbb{S}^n)}$ . As an application we provide a new simplified proof of the fact that ${\pi_n^{\rm Lip}(\mathbb{H}_n)\neq \{0\}, n=1,2,\ldots}$ , and we prove a new result that ${\pi_{4n-1}^{\rm Lip}(\mathbb{H}_{2n})\neq \{0\}}$ for n = 1,2,… The last result is based on a new generalization of the Hopf invariant. We also prove that Lipschitz mappings are not dense in the Sobolev space ${W^{1,p}(\mathcal{M},\mathbb{H}_{2n})}$ when ${\dim \mathcal{M} \geq 4n}$ and 4n?1 ≤  p < 4n.  相似文献

We consider the pseudo-euclidean space ${(\mathbb{R}^n, g)}$ , with n ≥  3 and ${g_{ij} = \delta_{ij} \varepsilon_i, \varepsilon_i = \pm 1}$ and tensors of the form ${T = \sum \nolimits_i \varepsilon_i f_i (x) dx_i^2}$ . In this paper, we obtain necessary and sufficient conditions for a diagonal tensor to admit a metric ${\bar{g}}$ , conformal to g, so that ${A_{\bar g}=T}$ , where ${A_{\bar g}}$ is the Schouten Tensor of the metric ${\bar g}$ . The solution to this problem is given explicitly for special cases for the tensor T, including a case where the metric ${\bar g}$ is complete on ${\mathbb{R}^n}$ . Similar problems are considered for locally conformally flat manifolds. As an application of these results we consider the problem of finding metrics ${\bar g}$ , conformal to g, such that ${\sigma_2 ({\bar g })}$ or ${\frac{\sigma_2 ({\bar g })}{\sigma_1 ({\bar g })}}$ is equal to a given function. We prove that for some functions, f 1 and f 2, there exist complete metrics ${\bar{g} = g/{\varphi^2}}$ , such that ${\sigma_2 ({\bar g }) = f_1}$ or ${\frac{\sigma_2 ({\bar g })}{\sigma_1 ({\bar g })} = f_2}$ .  相似文献

Let G =  (V, E) be a finite loopless graph and let (A, +) be an abelian group with identity 0. Then an A-magic labeling of G is a function ${\phi}$ from E into A ? {0} such that for some ${a \in A, \sum_{e \in E(v)} \phi(e) = a}$ for every ${v \in V}$ , where E(v) is the set of edges incident to v. If ${\phi}$ exists such that a =  0, then G is zero-sum A-magic. Let zim(G) denote the subset of ${\mathbb{N}}$ (the positive integers) such that ${1 \in zim(G)}$ if and only if G is zero-sum ${\mathbb{Z}}$ -magic and ${k \geq 2 \in zim(G)}$ if and only if G is zero-sum ${\mathbb{Z}_k}$ -magic. We establish that if G is 3-regular, then ${zim(G) = \mathbb{N} - \{2\}}$ or ${\mathbb{N} - \{2,4\}.}$   相似文献

The moduli space of smooth curves admits a beautiful compactification $\mathcal{M}_{g,n} \subset \overline{\mathcal{M}}_{g,n}$ by the moduli space of stable curves. In this paper, we undertake a systematic classification of alternate modular compactifications of $\mathcal{M}_{g,n}$ . Let $\mathcal{U}_{g,n}$ be the (non-separated) moduli stack of all n-pointed reduced, connected, complete, one-dimensional schemes of arithmetic genus g. When g=0, $\mathcal{U}_{0,n}$ is irreducible and we classify all open proper substacks of $\mathcal{U}_{0,n}$ . When g≥1, $\mathcal{U}_{g,n}$ may not be irreducible, but there is a unique irreducible component $\mathcal{V}_{g,n} \subset\mathcal{U}_{g,n}$ containing $\mathcal{M}_{g,n}$ . We classify open proper substacks of $\mathcal {V}_{g,n}$ satisfying a certain stability condition.  相似文献

We consider a closed semi-algebraic set ${X \subset \mathbb{R}^n}$ and a C 2 semi-algebraic function ${f : \mathbb{R}^n \rightarrow\mathbb{R}}$ such that ${f_{\vert X}}$ has a finite number of critical points. We relate the topology of X to the topology of the sets ${X \cap \{ f * \alpha \}}$ , where ${* \in \{\le,=,\ge \}}$ and ${\alpha \in \mathbb{R}}$ , and the indices of the critical points of ${f_{\vert X}}$ and ${-f_{\vert X}}$ . We also relate the topology of X to the topology of the links at infinity of the sets ${X \cap \{ f * \alpha\}}$ and the indices of these critical points. We give applications when ${X=\mathbb{R}^n}$ and when f is a generic linear function.  相似文献

Let ${(\mathcal {X},\Omega)}$ be a closed polarized complex manifold, g be an extremal metric on ${\mathcal {X}}$ that represents the Kähler class Ω, and G be a compact connected subgroup of the isometry group Isom ${(\mathcal {X}, g)}$ . Assume that the Futaki invariant relative to G is nondegenerate at g. Consider a smooth family ${(\mathcal {M}\to B)}$ of polarized complex deformations of ${(\mathcal {X},\Omega)\simeq (\mathcal {M}_0,\Theta_0)}$ provided with a holomorphic action of G which is trivial on B. Then for every ${t\in B}$ sufficiently small, there exists an ${h^{1,1}(\mathcal {X})}$ -dimensional family of extremal Kähler metrics on ${\mathcal {M}_t}$ whose Kähler classes are arbitrarily close to Θ t . We apply this deformation theory to show that certain complex deformations of the Mukai–Umemura 3-fold admit Kähler–Einstein metrics.  相似文献

Mohammed Harfaoui characterized the generalized growth of entire functions of several complex variables by means of best polynomial approximation and interpolation on a compact set ${K \subset C^{n}}$ with respect to the set ${\overline \Omega _r = \{z \in C^{n}:{\rm exp} (V_k ) \leq r\}}$ where ${V_k = {\rm sup} \{(1/d) \ln |P_d |, P_d}$ a polynomial of degree ${\leq d, ||P_d ||_K \leq 1\}}$ . Every multiplier algebra of an irreducible complete Pick kernel arises as the restriction algebra ${\mathcal{M}_V = \{f \big|_V : f \in \mathcal{M}_d\}}$ , where d is some integer or ${\infty, \mathcal{M}_d}$ is the multiplier algebra of the Drury-Arveson space ${H^2_d}$ , and V is a subvariety of the unit ball. For finite dimensional d it is known that, under mild assumptions, every isomorphism between two such algebras ${\mathcal{M}_V}$ and ${\mathcal{M}_W}$ is induced by a biholomorphism between W and V. In this paper we consider the converse, and obtain positive results in two directions. The first deals with the case where V is the proper image of a finite Riemann surface. The second deals with the case where V is a disjoint union of varieties.  相似文献

We study the sets $\mathcal{T}_{v}=\{m \in\{1,2,\ldots\}: \mbox{there is a convex polygon in }\mathbb{R}^{2}\mbox{ that has }v\mbox{ vertices and can be tiled with $m$ congruent equilateral triangles}\}$ , v=3,4,5,6. $\mathcal{T}_{3}$ , $\mathcal{T}_{4}$ , and $\mathcal{T}_{6}$ can be quoted completely. The complement $\{1,2,\ldots\} \setminus\mathcal{T}_{5}$ of $\mathcal{T}_{5}$ turns out to be a subset of Euler’s numeri idonei. As a consequence, $\{1,2,\ldots\} \setminus\mathcal{T}_{5}$ can be characterized with up to two exceptions, and a complete characterization is given under the assumption of the Generalized Riemann Hypothesis.  相似文献

Let R be a commutative Noetherian ring, and let n be a non-negative integer. In this article, by using the theory of Gorenstein dimensions, it is shown that whenever R is a homomorphic image of a Noetherian Gorenstein ring, then the invariants ${\inf\{i \in \mathbb{N}_0|\, \rm{dim\, Supp}(\mathfrak{b}^t H_{\mathfrak{a}}^i(M)) \geq n\, \rm{for\, all}\, t \in \mathbb{N}_0\}}$ and ${\inf\{\lambda_{\mathfrak{a} R_{\mathfrak{p}}}^{\mathfrak{b} R_{\mathfrak{p}}}(M_{\mathfrak{p}})|\, \mathfrak{p} \in {\rm Spec} \, R\, \rm{and\, dim}\, R/ \mathfrak{p} \geq n\}}$ are equal, for every finitely generated R-module M and for all ideals ${\mathfrak{a}, \mathfrak{b}}$ of R with ${\mathfrak{b}\subseteq \mathfrak{a}}$ . Associated with this mapping, we define a maximal operator ${\mathcal{M}^{\mathfrak{a}}_N}$ on ${L^1_{loc}(\mathbb{R}^3)}$ for each ${N\gg 1}$ by $$\mathcal{M}^{\mathfrak{a}}_Nf(x)=\sup_{x\in\tau} \frac{1}{|\tau|} \int_{\tau}|f(y)|\,dy$$ where the supremum is taken over all 1/N ×? 1/N?× 1 tubes τ whose axis is embedded in the plane ${\Pi_\mathfrak{a}(x)}$ . We study the behavior of ${\mathcal{M}^{\mathfrak{a}}_N}$ according to various vector fields ${\mathfrak{a}}$ . In particular, we classify the operator norms of ${\mathcal{M}^{\mathfrak{a}}_N}$ on ${L^2(\mathbb{R}^3)}$ when ${\mathfrak{a}(x)}$ is the linear function of the form (a 11 x 1?+?a 21 x 2, a 12 x 1?+?a 22 x 2, 1). The operator norm of ${\mathcal{M}^\mathfrak{a}_N}$ on ${L^2(\mathbb{R}^3)}$ is related with the number given by $$D=(a_{12}+a_{21})^2-4a_{11}a_{22}.$$   相似文献
