The Papkovich-Neuber solution of the Stokes' flow equations for a viscous incompressible flow at very low Reynolds numbers is derived using three alternative approaches. In each case the class of solutions which is valid varies depending on the assumptions made on the domain considered. The technique is illustrated by several examples. The solution is identical to that of incompressible linear elasticity upon appropriate modification.  相似文献

We introduce and analyze the local discontinuous Galerkin method for the Oseen equations of incompressible fluid flow. For a class of shape-regular meshes with hanging nodes, we derive optimal a priori estimates for the errors in the velocity and the pressure in - and negative-order norms. Numerical experiments are presented which verify these theoretical results and show that the method performs well for a wide range of Reynolds numbers.

In this paper, a weak Galerkin finite element method for the Oseen equations of incompressible fluid flow is proposed and investigated. This method is based on weak gradient and divergence operators which are designed for the finite element discontinuous functions. Moreover, by choosing the usual polynomials of degree i ≥ 1 for the velocity and polynomials of degree i ? 1 for the pressure and enhancing the polynomials of degree i ? 1 on the interface of a finite element partition for the velocity, this new method has a lot of attractive computational features: more general finite element partitions of arbitrary polygons or polyhedra with certain shape regularity, fewer degrees of freedom and parameter free. Stability and error estimates of optimal order are obtained by defining a weak convection term. Finally, a series of numerical experiments are given to show that this method has good stability and accuracy for the Oseen problem.  相似文献

Following earlier work for Stokes equations, a least squares functional is developed for two‐ and three‐dimensional Oseen equations. By introducing a velocity flux variable and associated curl and trace equations, ellipticity is established in an appropriate product norm. The form of Oseen equations examined here is obtained by linearizing the incompressible Navier–Stokes equations. An algorithm is presented for approximately solving steady‐state, incompressible Navier–Stokes equations with a nested iteration‐Newton‐FOSLS‐AMG iterative scheme, which involves solving a sequence of Oseen equations. Some numerical results for Kovasznay flow are provided. Copyright © 2006 John Wiley & Sons, Ltd.  相似文献

This article deals with L q $L^q$ -weak solutions to the 3D time-dependent Oseen system. This type of solution is defined in terms of the velocity only. It is shown that the velocity may be represented by a sum of integrals none of which involves the pressure and without a surface integral of the spatial gradient of the velocity. On the basis of this representation formula, an estimate of the spatial decay of the velocity and its spatial gradient is derived. No boundary conditions have to be imposed for these results.  相似文献

A nonoverlapping domain decomposition algorithm of Robin–Robin type is applied to the discretized Oseen equations using stabilized finite element approximations of velocity and pressure thus allowing in particular equal-order interpolation. As a crucial result we have to inspect the proof of a modified inf–sup condition, in particular, the dependence of the stability constant with respect to the Reynolds number (cf. appendix). After proving coercivity and strong convergence of the method, we derive an a posteriori estimate which controls convergence of the discrete subdomain solutions to the global discrete solution provided that jumps of the discrete solution converge at the interface. Furthermore, we obtain information on the design of some free parameters within the Robin-type interface condition which essentially influence the convergence speed. Some numerical results confirm the theoretical ones.  相似文献

This work is concerned with a system of two viscoelastic wave equations with nonlinear damping and source terms acting in both equations. Under some restrictions on the nonlinearity of the damping and the source terms, we prove that, for certain class of relaxation functions and for some restrictions on the initial data, the rate of decay of the total energy depends on those of the relaxation functions. This result improves many results in the literature, such as the ones in Messaoudi and Tatar (Appl. Anal. 87(3):247–263, 2008) and Liu (Nonlinear Anal. 71:2257–2267, 2009) in which only the exponential and polynomial decay rates are considered.  相似文献

In this Note, we present existence and uniqueness results for the exterior Oseen problem. In order to control the behavior at infinity of functions, we use as functional framework weighted Sobolev spaces. The results rely on a Lp-theory for 1<p<. To cite this article: C. Amrouche, U. We use qualitative analysis and numerical simulation to study peaked traveling wave solutions of CH-γ and CH equations. General expressions of peakon and periodic cusp wave solutions are obtained. Some previous results become our special cases.  相似文献

We study the Dirichlet problem for the stationary Oseen equations around a rotating body in an exterior domain. Our main results are the existence and uniqueness of weak and very weak solutions satisfying appropriate Lq‐estimates. The uniqueness of very weak solutions is shown by the method of cut‐off functions with an anisotropic decay. Then our existence result for very weak solutions is deduced by a duality argument from the existence and estimates of strong solutions. From this and interior regularity of very weak solutions, we finally establish the complete D1,r‐result for weak solutions of the Oseen equations around a rotating body in an exterior domain, where 4/3<r <4. Here, D1,r is the homogeneous Sobolev space.  相似文献
