The notion of Hadamard decomposition of a semisimple associative finite-dimensional complex algebra generalizes the notion of classicalHadamard matrix, which corresponds to the case of commutative algebras. The algebras admitting Hadamard decompositions are called Hadamard algebras. A relation for the values of an irreducible character of a Hadamard algebra on the products of involutions forming an orthogonal basis of the algebra is obtained. This relation is then applied to describe the Hadamard decompositions in an algebra of dimension 8.  相似文献

The existence problem for Hadamard decompositions in semisimple associative finite-dimensional complex algebras is studied. Under the assumption that the well-known hypothesis of the Hadamard matrices is satisfied, this problem is completely solved for algebras isomorphic to the direct sum of a matrix algebra of order 2 and a semisimple commutative algebra.  相似文献

We determine commutative post-Lie algebra structures on some infinite-dimensional Lie algebras. We show that all commutative post-Lie algebra structures on loop algebras are trivial. This extends the results for finite-dimensional perfect Lie algebras. Furthermore, we show that all commutative post-Lie algebra structures on affine Kac–Moody Lie algebras are “almost trivial”.  相似文献

We show that the tensor product of commutative Banach algebras possesses a finite universal Korovkin system, if and only if each of the factors does, and present an explicit construction of finite universal Korovkin systems for several commutative Banach algebras of vector-valued functions. The same questions are answered for the formation of direct sums and the passage to an ideal resp. its associated quotient algebra.  相似文献

The standard reduced bar complex B(A) of a differential graded algebra A inherits a natural commutative algebra structure if A is a commutative algebra. We address an extension of this construction in the context of E-infinity algebras. We prove that the bar complex of any E-infinity algebra can be equipped with the structure of an E-infinity algebra so that the bar construction defines a functor from E-infinity algebras to E-infinity algebras. We prove the homotopy uniqueness of such natural E-infinity structures on the bar construction.We apply our construction to cochain complexes of topological spaces, which are instances of E-infinity algebras. We prove that the n-th iterated bar complexes of the cochain algebra of a space X is equivalent to the cochain complex of the n-fold iterated loop space of X, under reasonable connectedness, completeness and finiteness assumptions on X.  相似文献

Quasi-hereditary algebras can be viewed as a Lie theory approach to the theory of finite dimensional algebras. Motivated by the existence of certain nice bases for representations of semisimple Lie algebras and algebraic groups, we will construct in this paper nice bases for (split) quasi-hereditary algebras and characterize them using these bases. We first introduce the notion of a standardly based algebra, which is a generalized version of a cellular algebra introduced by Graham and Lehrer, and discuss their representation theory. The main result is that an algebra over a commutative local noetherian ring with finite rank is split quasi-hereditary if and only if it is standardly full-based. As an application, we will give an elementary proof of the fact that split symmetric algebras are not quasi-hereditary unless they are semisimple. Finally, some relations between standardly based algebras and cellular algebras are also discussed.  相似文献

A commutative Rota–Baxter algebra can be regarded as a commutative algebra that carries an abstraction of the integral operator. With the motivation of generalizing the study of algebraic geometry to Rota–Baxter algebras, we extend the central concept of localization for commutative algebras to commutative Rota–Baxter algebras. The existence of such a localization is proved and, under mild conditions, its explicit construction is obtained. The existence of tensor products of commutative Rota–Baxter algebras is also proved and the compatibility of localization and the tensor product of Rota–Baxter algebras is established. We further study Rota–Baxter coverings and show that they form a Grothendieck topology.  相似文献

Multiplicities corresponding to irreducible characters are defined for reality-based algebras. These algebras with a distinguished basis include fusion rings, C-algebras, and the adjacency algebras of finite association schemes. The definition of multiplicity generalizes that for schemes. For a broad class of these structures, which includes the adjacency algebras, it is proved that if all the nontrivial multiplicities are equal then the algebra is commutative, and is a C-algebra if its dimension is larger than two.  相似文献

In this article, we review results on primitive elements of free algebras of main types of Schreier varieties of algebras. A variety of linear algebras over a field is Schreier if any subalgebra of a free algebra of this variety is free in the same variety of algebras. A system of elements of a free algebra is primitive if it is a subset of some set of free generators of this algebra. We consider free nonassociative algebras, free commutative and anti-commutative nonassociative algebras, free Lie algebras and superalgebras, and free Lie p-algebras and p-superalgebras. We present matrix criteria for systems of elements of elements. Primitive elements distinguish automorphisms: endomorphisms sending primitive elements to primitive elements are automorphisms. We give a series of examples of almost primitive elements (an element of a free algebra is almost primitive if it is not a primitive element of the whole algebra, but it is a primitive element of any proper subalgebra which contains it). Let B be an abstract Segal algebra in some Banach algebra A. There was some belief that in the commutative case A should be semi-simple, if B is, but this is not so (Section I). It is well known that a (proper) abstract Segal algebra does not have bounded right approximate units. It may however have a left unit. Pseudosymmetric Segal algebras in the sense of Reiter do not have bounded left approximate units (Section II). A nonfactorization proof is given for a class of algebras which contains most of the known examples of Segal algebras on abelian groups (Section III).  相似文献

Recent articles consider invertible and locally invertible algebras (respectively, those having a basis consisting solely of invertible or solely of strongly regular elements). Previous contributions to the subject include the study of when Leavitt path algebras are invertible. This article investigates the local invertibility property in Leavitt path algebras. A complete classification of strongly regular monomials in Leavitt path algebras is given. Additionally, it is show that all directly finite and (von Neumann) regular Leavitt path algebras are locally invertible. It is also shown that a Leavitt path algebra has a basis consisting solely of strongly regular monomials if and only if it is commutative.  相似文献

The problem of searching the maximal commutative sets of polynomial functions on the dual space to the semidirect sum of a Lie algebra and a vector space is studied. It is proved that if the first component of the semi-direct sum is a compact algebra, then the set of functions can be described explicitly. A commutative order in a central simple algebra over a number field is said to be selective if it embeds in some, but not all, maximal orders in the algebra. We completely characterize selective orders in central division algebras, of dimension 9 or greater, in terms of the characterization of selective orders given by Chinburg and Friedman in the quaternionic case.  相似文献

Nagata gave a fundamental sufficient condition on group actions on finitely generated commutative algebras for finite generation of the subalgebra of invariants. In this paper we consider groups acting on noncommutative algebras over a field of characteristic zero. We characterize all the T-ideals of the free associative algebra such that the algebra of invariants in the corresponding relatively free algebra is finitely generated for any group action from the class of Nagata. In particular, in the case of unitary algebras this condition is equivalent to the nilpotency of the algebra in Lie sense. As a consequence we extend the Hilbert-Nagata theorem on finite generation of the algebra of invariants to any finitely generated associative algebra which is Lie nilpotent. We also prove that the Hilbert series of the algebra of invariants of a group acting on a relatively free algebra with a non-matrix polynomial identity is rational, if the action satisfies the condition of Nagata.

A class of the associative and Lie algebras A[D] = A F[D] of Weyl type are studied, where A is a commutative associative algebra with an identity element over a field F of characteristic zero, and F[D] is the polynomial algebra of a finite dimensional commutative subalgebra of locally finite derivations of A such that A is D-simple. The purpose of this paper is to classify the quasi-isomorphism classes of 1-connected minimal free cochain algebras over a commutative ring. Our tool to address this problem is a “certain” long sequence, called the Whitehead exact sequence, which we construct for every such algebra. We introduce the notion of coherent isomorphisms between these exact sequences and we show that two 1-connected minimal free cochain algebras are quasi-isomorphic if and only if their respective Whitehead exact sequences are coherently isomorphic.  相似文献
