Using the DASP detector at the DESY storage ring DORIS we have continued measuring e+e? annihilations near and on the ?(9.46) resonance. From the cross sections for e+e?μ+μ? and e+e? → hadrons we obtain a μ+μ? branching ratio for the ?(9.46) of (2.9 ± 1.3 ± 0.5) %, a leptonic width гee = (1.35 ± 0.11 ± 0.22) keV and a total width of (47?15+37 keV.  相似文献

Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e storage ring DORIS II at DESY we have measured the parameters of a charmed strange meson D* s2 + (2573) decaying into D0K+. The mass of this state was found to be (2574.5±3.3±1.6) MeV/c 2. The measured value of its width is (10.4±8.3±3.0) MeV and the product of the production cross section and branching ratio for this channel was determined to be (10.6±4.2 −1.2 +2.3 ) pb. An experiment using the PLUTO detector has observed the formation of a narrow, high mass, resonance in e+e? annihilations at the DORIS storage ring. The mass is determined to be 9.46±0.01 GeV which is consistent with that of the Upsilon. The gaussian width σ is observed as 8±1 MeV and is equal to the DORIS energy resolution. This suggests that the resonance is a bound state of a new heavy quark-antiquark pair. An electronic width Γee=1.3±0.4 keV was obtained. In standard theoretical models, this favors a quark charge assignment of 13.  相似文献

Multihadron production has been measured at the Adone e+e? storage ring in the c.m. energy region 1600 ÷ 1900 MeV. A resonant behaviour is observed, centered at 1819 ± 5 (±2) MeV, with a width of 24 ± 5 (±4) MeV. This effect is observed only in the events with 3 or 4 charged particles together with photons, but not in those without photons.  相似文献

Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e storage ring DORIS II, we have observed charmless decays of B mesons into the final states pp̄π± and pp̄π+π. The significance of the signal corresponds to more than five standard deviations. The branching ratios are (5.2±1.4±1.9)×10−4 for the three-body and (6.0±2.0±2.2)×10−4 for the four-body final state. These decays cannot proceed via the dominant b→c transitions, and we show that they are not the result of penguin-type processes. Thus, the observed decays must represent b→u quark transitions. Consequently, the Kobayashi-Maskawa matrix element Vub is non-zero.  相似文献

A measurement of the spectral functions of non-strange τ vector current final states is presented, using 124 358 τ pairs recorded by the ALEPH detector at LEP during the years 1991 to 1994. The spectral functions of the dominant two- and four-pion τ decay channels are compared to published results of e + e - annihilation experiments via isospin rotation. A combined fit of the pion form factor from τ decays and e + e - data is performed using different parametrizations. The mass and the width of the ρ ±(770) and the ρ 0(770) are separately determined in order to extract possible isospin violating effects. The mass and width differences are measured to be M ρ ± (770) - M ρ 0 (770) = (0.0 ± 1.0) MeV/c 2 and Γ ρ ± (770) - Γ ρ 0 (770) = (0.1 ± 1.9) MeV/c 2.  相似文献

The reactions e+e?→ hadrons and e+e+e?→e+e? have been studied at the J/gY (3100) resonance). The relative weights of the topological cross sections for fixed charged multiplicity are σ2=(32±5)%, σ4=(49±8)%, σ6=(18±3)%, and σ8=(1±0.6)%. The average pion multiplicities are 〈nch〉=3.8±0.3 and 〈nπo〉=3.1±0.8. The decay widths are Γe=(4.6±0.8) keV, Γh=(59±24) keV, and Γ=(68±26) keV.  相似文献

The reaction e+e?→ hadrons has been measured in the ? and ?′ region using the DASP detector at the DESY storage ring DORIS. The following final results are obtained: Rhad(9.5 GeV)=3.73±0.16±0.28, Γee(?)=(1.23 ± 0.08 ± 0.12) keV, Bμμ(?)=(3.2±1.3±0.3)%, ΓeeΓhadΓtot(?′)=(0.55±0.11 ±0.06) keV, and M(?′)?M(?)=(556 ±10) MeV.  相似文献

Using the ARGUS detector at the e+e storage ring DORIS II, we have observed the decay τππππ+π+ντ in tau-pair events produced at center-or-mass energies between 9.4 and 10.6 GeV. From the 5π invariant mass distribution we derive an upper limit of m(ντ)<35 MeV/c2 at the 95% confidence level. The branching ratio for this decay channel is found to be (0.064±0.023±0.01)%.  相似文献

The radiative decayJ/ψ → γ π+ π? has been studied using the 8.6 millionJ/ψ produced in the DM2 experiment at the DCIe +e? storage rings at Orsay. The π+ π? mass spectrum shows a cleanf 2 (1270) signal, and the possible presence of two other states at thef 2 (1720) andf 4 (2030) masses. For thef 2 (1270), the branching ratio BR(J/ψ →γf)xBR(f→π+ π?) is measured to be (7.50±0.30±1.12)×10?4, and the spin analysis prefers theJ=2 assignment, with helicity parametersx=0.83±0.06 andy=0.01±0.06. The production of the pseudoscalar meson η'(958) is observed in the reaction e+e−→ e+eη′→e+eπ+πγ with the ARGUS detector at DESY. We measure the product Γγγ(η')Br(η′ →ϱγ) to be 1.13±0.04±0.13 keV. Using the known branching ratio s, we calculate Γγγ(η′) to be 3.76±0.13±0.47 keV and Γη' to be 203±32 keV.  相似文献

The cross section of the process e + e ? → π+π? was measured in the spherical neutral detector experiment at the VEPP-2M collider in the energy region $400 < \sqrt s < 1000 MeV$ . This measurement was based on about 12.4 × 106 selected collinear events, which include 7.4 × 106 e + e ?e + e ?, 4.5 × 106 e + e ? → π+π?, and 0.5 × 106 e + e ? → μ+μ? selected events. The systematic uncertainty of cross section determination is 1.3%. The ρ-meson parameters were determined as m ρ = 774.9±0.4±0.5 MeV, Γ ρ = 146.5±0.8±1.5 MeV, and σ(ρ → π+π?) = 1220 ± 7 ± 16 nb and the parameters of the G-parity suppressed decay ω → π+π? as σ(ω → π+π?) = 29.9 ± 1.4 ± 1.0 nb and φρω = 113.5±1.3±1.7°.  相似文献

The static quadrupole moment Q2+ and the B(E2; 0+ → 2+) value of the first excited state of 18O at ex = 1.982 MeV have been determined using the reorientation effect in Coulomb excitation. Surface-barrier detectors at laboratory angles of 90° and 174° were used to detect 18O ions elastically and inelastically scattered from 208Pb. At both angles, we determined experimentally the maximum bombarding energies at which nuclear interference effects were negligible. It is found that Q+ = ?0.023 ± 0.021 e · b (?0.052 ± 0.021 e · b) for destructive (constructive) interference from higher states. This result is in good agreement with theoretical expectation. For the transition moment we find B(E2; 0+ → 2+) = 0.00390 ± 0.00018 e2 · b2 (0.00371 ± 0.00018 e2 · b2) for destructive (constructive) interference.  相似文献

We have measured the reaction e+e?e+e? at the ? Using athe excess of electron pairs over the QED expectation we obtain an electronic branching ratio of Bee = (5.1 ± 3.0) %. Combining this with publishe values of the muonic branching ratio Bμμ we conclude that the ? is a narrow state with a total width < 180 keV at 95% C.L.  相似文献

The decay J/Ψ (3100)→ η(958) + γ has been searched for at tthe Adone e+e+- storage ring. No candidate event has been found. This allows to set an upper limit of 1.0 keV (90% C.L.) for this decay partial width.  相似文献

Annihilation of e+e? into final states with a single electron has been studied with the PLUTO detector at the DORIS storage ring at CMS energies from 3.6 to 5 GeV. In the sample of 4-prong events without any detected photon we observe 21 events which we assign to the reaction e+e?τ+τ?ννe + ν?0π. We obtain a branching ratio for τ+ν?0π+ of 0.050 ± 0.015 with an overall systematic uncertainty of 30%. The data are consistent with the ?π coming from an A1 meson.  相似文献

The static quadrupole moments Q2+ and B(E2; 0+ → 2+) values of the 2+ first excited states of 200Hg and 202Hg have been determined using the reorientation effect in Coulomb excitation. An annular silicon surface-barrier detector was used to detect backscattered 4He, 12C and 16O projectiles. It is found that for 200Hg, Q2+ = +1.07 ± 0.19 e · b(+0.98 ± 0.19 e · b) for destructive (constructive) interference from the 2+′ state, and B(E2; 0+ → 2+) = 0.853 ± 0.007 e2 · b2. For 202Hg, we find Q2+ = +1.01 ± 0.13 e · b (+0.87 ± 0.13 e · b) and B(E2; 0+ → 2+) = 0.605 ± 0.005 e2 · b2. The Q2+ value obtained for 200Hg is in agreement with previous work, but that for 202Hg is not. The results obtained are compared with the predictions of various nuclear models, and the mass dependence of Q2+ in the region 182 ≦ A ≦ 206 is examined.  相似文献

Using both charged and neutral components, 2600 multihadronic e+e? annihilation events, recorded at 34 GeV by the CELLO detector at PETRA, have been analysed in a calometric approach. The fraction of energy carried by gamma rays is measured to be fγ = (26.0 ± 0.4 (stat) ± 4.0 (syst)%. The neutral energy flow is seen to follow closely the overall energy flow. From the corrected oblateness distribution, a first order determination of αs is performed. The result is αs = 0.16 ± 0.01 (stat) ± 0.03 (syst).  相似文献

The A-X system of I2 has been recorded in absorption, under conditions of medium resolution, over the region 8000 – 13 400 Å. Bandheads in progressions based on v″ = 6 through 18 have been measured and assigned. A new vibrational numbering for the A state is proposed, which leads to more reliable values for the important constants of the A state: Te = 10 906 ± 3 cm?1, De = 1641 ± 3 cm?1, ωe = 92.5 ± 0.5 cm?1, ωexe = 1.20 ± 0.08 cm?1, ωeye = ?0.062 ± 0.006 cm?1.  相似文献
